Mediasource and MicroPh

I use mediasource on my zen touch. when i plug into my computer mediasource recognizes it and lets me manage my music and shows up as a source. I recently bought a microphoto for my girlfriend and tried the same thing on it. For some reason it mediasource does not recognize the new microphoto. Any thoughts on how to get my mediasource to recognize the microphoto?Thank you.

I mean loading songs on it. Using the AudioSync function? It works just fine using WMP 0, esp with the firmware update, but I want to have some of the smart playlists that Mediasource creates using the music analyzer. Is there someway to transfer those smart playlists using WMP 0?

  • Lost My SuperRip and a MediaSource and Zen V Plus Quest

Seems as if after I did my software updates for MediaSource, I don't have the ability to use the SuperRip. The regular rip ability is there, but no SuperRip. I want it back. I tried uninstalling MediaSource and reinstalling, but it did not work.
My other question- I have a Creative XF-i Fataity sound card, a Creative ZEN V Plus, & a Muvo V200 (my daughter's). When I install the software for those, it installs MediaSource 5. Now I have the MediaSource (one that came with X-Fi) and MediaSource 5. I'm surprised to see the two install themselves separately. Anything wrong with uninstalling one of them?
Finally, when I updated the firmware on my ZEN V Plus, the sync manager does not work. I get the dialog box that asks if I want to send a report to Microsoft.
    Help!

  • Creative MediaSource and Zen Micro Explorer Prob

Now that i have downloaded the latest Firmware my Zen Micro can now be recognised and used with Windows media player however now Creative MediaSource and Zen Micro Explorer do not detect my Micro.
Please Advise me on what I should do

As of firmware version 2.00.2 (includes new beta firmware), you have to use Windows Media Player instead of Mediasource. You cannot use Mediasource to manage a Zen Micro anymore.
Accompanying the new firmware update, you also need to update the Zen Micro Explorer to the newest version (<<< Newest version download link)

  • Creative MediaSource and ID3 t

Creative MediaSource doesn't seem to update it's internal database from ID3 tags. For example I ripped a CD and MediaSource failed to get the year of the album. So, I added the information to the Id tags using Winamp. I reimported the file into MediaSource but it still fails to display the year correctly. Does Mediasource ignore ID tag information accept to overwrite it's
    Thanks,

Thanks, yes that worked. It's a nuisance that the updating doesn't occur automatically but it's much better than not working at all.

  • Creative mediasource and Burning Di

I got Creative Mediasource with my Creative Nomad MuVo2 Player. I have "auto upgraded" the software and the plugins through the site.
There doesn't seem to be any burn option, although the help file tells how to do it.
I know that there are better burning programs out there, I have Nero, but thought that it might be convenient to burn from Mediasource.
Anyone know why I can't burn with my version (latest upgrade as well)?

Do the update manually. Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.
    - For NOMAD MuVo series: Download and install the latest Creative MuVo series plugin .0.05 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • Creative Mediasource and the

Hi everybody. I am new to this forum but I have been a Creative user for a long time. My question is this I just bought a new 8gb Zen and the software that came with it did not include the Creative Mediasource organizer. I love the mediasource organizer becouse it puts everything in one easy window, i can see all of the songs on my computer and also what is already on my player. The Zen Media Organizer that came with my new Zen is not very easy to work with. It just shows the songs as File folders. Am I missing something here, why doesn't the new Zen come with the Mediasource Organizer. I like the Mediasource better than Windows Media Player. Please Help

By the Way this is the Email I got from Creative when I asked the same thing

  • Problem with Creative MediaSource and Zen Ex

Earlier today my Creative MediaSource software (the Organizer) stopped detecting my Zen Extra (60GB). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times.
Everytime I try to open the MediaSource Organizer, I get the following:?[size="3" color="#0033ff">Creative MediaSource Player has encountered a problem and needs to close.[size="3" color="#0033ff">?[size="3" color="#0033ff">Error Signature: [size="3" color="#0033ff">AppName: ctcms.exe AppVer: 2.2.5.0 ModName: ctcms.exe
    [size="3" color="#0033ff">ModVer: 2.2.5.0 Offset: 00098c[size="">
?Can anyone help me? How can I get the Organizer working again and how can I get it to detect my player. I have installed the firmware and drivers on this site, but nothing is helping.

Try deleting the .dat file(s) under "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Creative\MediaSource". It may solve the MediaSource crashing problem. To detect your Zen Xtra, you need to install its plugin for MediaSource. You may install it from your product CD or get the latest from the Web download. Here is what you should do:?- Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.- (Depending on your product and firmware)
For non-PlaysForSure Zen series: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
For PlaysForSure Zen Xtra: Download and install the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra Players.
    - If it is listed for your product: Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • Zen Vision, MediaSource and the Mac

I am considering recommending that my girlfriend?purchase of?a 30 or 60Gb Zen Vision M as a basis for digitising her music collection. This recommnedation is based on my happy experiences with the excellent MediaSoure product on my ageing JukeBox III. However, she has a Mac computer and not a PC. Any basic (or?indeed detailed) guidance or recommendations that anyone can offer?Much appreciated. Also, does anyone know how I might be able to get MediaSource 5 (PC) to work alongside my olde Creative JUkeBox III -according to the autoupdate, this old thing is supported any more??Nick

    APerfectCircle,
The Zen Sleek Photo does exist and it's available. It may not be within your region for purchase but it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Since the player does exist, this thread really serve no purpose at all and will only mislead others so I'm closing this.

  • MediaSource and Playli

    Hello,
is there a way to sort the items of a playlist in MediaSource? If i want to update a playlist (-> add/remove songs) it's very hard to know if a song is already in the playlist becuase the songs are ordered by time and not - for example - the band name. If I remember correct this ordering is also used in the player (for me it's a ZenTouch) that makes it even harder to find a certain song in the playlist because of you can't go to the band and then search there for a song. You have to search the entire list.
What I want to say is, that, when I click on the name of a column in the players media library it is orderd for that column but that doesn't work in a playlist. It annoyes me because of it happens that I add a song two times in a playlist or can't find it later on the player in the list. I reinstalled the MediaSource softwar recently so I don't think it is because of a installation failure.
It would be nice to have this function (especially so I wouldn't have to recreate a playlist from the bottom when I want to do some bigger changes).

  • Why does the Vision M come with old Creative Mediasource ,and not version

I just got a Vision M player and was disappointed to find it came with the older version of Mediasource, I recently purchased and returned a Zen V 2 gb. player that came with version 5 software. I'm confused why the M only gets version 3.30.35 . I removed version 5 before I loaded the M software thinking I should to avoid conflict. Has anyone had any problems using version 5 with the new Vision M ? I should have copied the disc before I returned it,oh well. I've tried to update using the autoupdate with no luck I keep getting an error at 33% then windows asks to send and error report or de-bug. I've given up on the update site.Message Edited by Roadslayer on 09-26-2006 07:03 PM

Zen Vision M was released earlier than Zen V. As such, it has the older version of MediaSource in the product CD.

  • MediaSource and PC Music Libr

Where on the PC does Creative MediaSource store the PC Music Library database and under what name? I have set the program to backup every 7 days, but being a bit paranoid, I also on a regular basis physically back up to CD any documents I don't want to lose in case of a hard dri've failure.
OS: Windows ME - Creative MediaSource v. 2.03.04
    Thanks. Eva

For Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the database files are stored at "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Creative\Media Database".
For Windows Me/98SE, I think they are stored at C:\Windows. There should be a folder called "Application Data". I suggest you search your harddisk for the file "PCML_.dpm" and backup the whole "Media Database" folder. Note that there is also a "JetFileBackup" folder within the "Media Database" folder. I don't think the "JetFileBackup" folder needs backup because it just contains some DLLs from Microsoft.

My MediaSource Player refuses to play almost (or any) track that has

I wonder if there is a patch of some sort that corrects this or
if there is somewhere I can yell at people to start making one! = P

Well, that worked for MediaSource ^^'
Messed up Firefox and some other things though, had to switch back to Swedish : P
Well, thanks for the help anyway!
Btw, is there a way to change that unicode setting-thingie for specific programs? : o

  • Does MediaSource and the zen xtra support secure WMA fil

I bought a CD that uses some encryption utilities from a company called sunncomm (real blockheads @ that company, from the tech support to the VP by the way) It would seem that I'm able to download the "digital keys" from their web site however I get the message "license required" when I try to copy the songs to my zen extra using mediasource.
Anyone ever had experience with this?
....and for the record I would not recommend buying any CD's that are using this company's (sunncomm)system, or anything from RCA records. In their effort to thwart illegal distribution the two have decided to punish those of us who legally purchase their products and simply want to listen to it in our preferred format and on our preferred players. I really don't listen to anything on CD anymore, as my CD's just get loaded onto my player, in fact I'd taken the CD player out of my car all together and the zen is the only thing that gets played there. Without the ability to transfer the songs from CD to my player what I wind up with is a fifteen dollar coaster

The CD is Contraband from Velvet Revolver. It's released on the RCA label under BMG music. The name of the company that delevloped and runs the protection software is SunnComm. I'm working on a list of other titles and artists that have this installed on their releases well. CL product users may find that useful as a list of titles to avoid.
The thing that is really bothersome is that nowhere on the CD did it indicate this protection was there when I bought it. Only when I popped it into my PC did it become evident. This as it turns out would have been a bit different if I owned an ipod, as since ipod has it's issues with WMA files to begin with they don't even pretend to support anything related to ipod. While that's a move that I'm sure CL thinks is just fine, it's seems like a bit of a bonehead move for the record company. What really irks me about sunn comm it they are quite frankly lying about what their product does, it does NOT allow someone who has legally bought a music release to listen to that release on a digital player like they it does ... which as a consumer is a right I expect to have when I purchase music in any format. I've spoke with several people at sunn comm and they are of no help and obviously do not care about any issues a consumer has with their product. I'm also in contact with RCA and BMG about this mistake they are making in not properly informing consumers about what their product actually is. I'm not a music pirate, I bought their release intending it only for my own personal use, but they have turned the simple act of buying music in to a week long Odyssey and headache. No one at Sunn Comm or BMG seems to understand that which does not bode well for for either company or industry.

  • Volume from mediasource and system volume is lin

Is there anyway to unlink the volume from mediasource from the system volume? I like to listen to music in the background while working and I find this current setup unacceptable. Obviously I could simply switch to a different player, wmedia, win-amp or itunes (yuck) no doubt. But I would rather keep the EAX support that you get in mediasource. Any ideas / solutions? Many thanks for your time - TinkMessage Edited by TinkTank on 02-06-2006 :49 PM

You should have your iPod volume turned up 3/4 of the way with a FM transmitter. If it still isnt loud enough try transmitting over another station instead.
*DO NOT turn the iPod volume all the way up. Aside from it distorting the music, its bad for the iPod.*
And there is no way to avoid the hiss or background noise with a FM transmitter since you are basically broadcasting some thing overtop of something else.
One solution, that is if you are willing to spend the money, is to get a new deck in your car that has a pre-out for a male-to-male standard headphone jack cord to go from your iPod to the deck. This would allow you to play your music through your speakers without the background noise.

  • Mediasource and explorer dont recognize my pla

i was used to managing my files using mediasource but after the firmaware upgrade neither mediasource nor explorer recognizes my player. my player shows as docked and is recognized by media explorer and wmp0. i have downloaded the upgrades for mediasource i believe but still no go. when i go to device manager it says i need to update my driver so i say yes and it takes me to the download page. when it begins it says the player is not connected. can somebody help me out because i don't know what to do now!!!

There shouldn't be any need to update the driver, unless the player isn't recognised. But based on your previous post some software was finding it.
You need to download and install Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players for MediaSource to work correctly with the player. I would also download and install the latest version of MediaSource as well if you don't have it already, Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2.
