MediaSource not recognizing Zen Touch pla

Hello,
We recently got new PC's at work and I didn't have my cd with me... so I downloaded the drivers/media source for my Zen Touch. I followed the troubleshooting steps - reinstalling, etc. Windows sees the player and I can click the Zen player icon in My Computer (sees it as an external dri've) and can see all my songs... but when I get into MediaSource it doesn't realize I have a player installed. It's not an available source dri've at all. I noticed it never says "device connected" on my player's screen like I think it used to on my old pc when I'd bring up the media source. what am I missing or doing wrong?

You need to install "Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource" in addition to MediaSource itself.

  • Nomad explorer and creative mediasource not detecting zen touch player. PLEASE HE

Hi, I got a new pc and I was going to install my Zen Touch mp3 player on my new pc but I could'nt find the installation cd so I followed the instructions on here and downloaded all the necessary? software, drivers, plug ins, and followed all the instructions. Once everything was downloaded and installed I plugged my mp3 player into my pc and the noise it makes came up and mtp media player pop up appeared. Windows media player accepts that my zen touch is plugged in but creative media source and nomad explorer is not detecting it's?My os is windows xp, I am using windows media player 9 as I was having trouble with windows media player . Could someone please help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you've just upgraded to XP, you now have to upgrade your Zen as well as your Mediasource. First you've got to upgrade your Zen Touch firmware to version 2.0.05 or above. Look around on the Creative Support site and you'll find the download without too much trouble. Be warned that the firmware upgrade is permanent, and it will wipe out your Zen hard dri've contents, so say goodbye to all your music unless you want to back it all up to your PC first.
Then you've got to upgrade your Mediasource to v 3.30.2 or higher. Again, you can find the upgrade download on the Creative site. Then you've got to install Zen Touch Media Explorer v .30.04 or higher. Same thing -- easy to locate on the Creative site. Then you should be good to go!?Best,?John

  • Windows Vista not recognizing ZEN Mi

I upgraded to Windows Vista 32-bit ultimate, and my ZEN Micro is not recognized. I have let Vista search for drivers online automatically, but it finds no solution. Creative says there is nati've support, so why is my ZEN not recognized?

Update:?I downloaded the XP driver and ran it in XP SP2 compatibility mode. My ZEN now shows up under My Computer, however the device is still not recognized by MediaSource, ZENcast, or the playsure sync manager. I get the error "no device connected" even though it is showing up in My Computer and I can view my files. Any ideas?Message Edited by michaelgazin on 04-8-2007:58 PM

  • USB Device Not Recognized (IPod Touch 5g) (Win 7 64 Bit)

I have seen many threads for this but nothing that they suggest has fixed this for me.
    http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u45/JediJake2429/Capture_zps9d26bcea.png
    I have an I touch 5g Model MD724LL/A, IOS 7.1.1
I have two Win 7 64 Bit Machines.
    I tried two cables,
    I tried two computers,
    I have restored it,
I have put it into recovery mode,
I have uninstalled all apple software, and removed all traces from the registry,
I have done a fresh install of Itunes on the laptop which had never had it on there before,
I have ran the windows troubleshooter, and the Microsoft fix it troubleshooter,
I have removed all traces of the ipod driver and tried updating,
I have updated the driver from the itunes folder on my pc,
I have tried everything listed here: My iTouch 5th generation is not recognised by my computer. why?
I have tried everything listed here: Windows 7 blocks my iPod Touch
I have tried everything listed here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/ipod-touch-5 th-generation-not-recognized/85dac803-680e-4ce8-842c-9f58b0df7f7f
My wife even took it to the apple store today and they told me that it is a windows 7 issue. they basically would not do anything for her.
Funny thing is, after trying everything that was suggested to me online, by those at the apple store, and using my own PC knowledge as I also work in IT, it still does not recognize the driver. So it seems to me that Apple need to get their drivers updated to be compatible.
I currently have a $400 piece of crap Ipod that I cannot use because apple cannot make a driver that works.
Anybody that has anything new to suggest, be my guest.

    Illaass,
It works connected to another apple device. I have TWO windows 7 64 Bit Machines both with widely different configurations, and they both have the same exact issue. This IS a driver issue, that much I agree with apple on. However its not a WINDOWS issue. APPLE makes the driver that is installed with Itunes. That Driver does not work. (As a side note, Apple really should get their head out of their A$$ and come up with better solutions vs telling their customers to restore their windows config. That's straight up BS.)
    JEM24,
I have done that. I have also taken a PC that had never had any apple software on it and installed itunes on that. Tested, same result.

  • Help!! Need to reload my Zen Touch Pla

I tried to upgrade my player and it told me that it upgraded successfuly and when my player restarted it now tells me that there is firmware problem and the recovery mode comes up.
    Creative Zen Touch v0.0.0
    . Cleanup
    2. Format All
    3. Reload Firmware
    4. Reboot
I have formated the player and attemped to reload the firmware, it asks to me to erase the current firmware and reload via usb cable. Then tells me to start firmware update now. I have downloaded the ZenTouchP4S_PCFW_LB_2__0 firmware file and all it tells me that my device is not connected. I hear that the usb connection is acti've and windows asks me what to do with the device, and it shows up in My Computer.
My player is only about 6 months old.
My computer system is Windows XP Media Center 2005
    Pentium D 2.8GHz
    024MB RAM
    Intel chipset
    Any help would be appriceated

Try attaching the AC charger to your Touch and then plug it into the USB port - this has been known to get the computer to recognise the player and then you can re-install the firmware.?With regards to the pointless and unhelpful comments that have been posted on this thread (and elsewhere on the forum), what's the point? Of course there will be people wth poroblems here - that's what the forum exists for! All major electrical companies have units with faults, not just Creative (try googling Apple and see the 6 million websites dedicated to iPod problems!!!!). You fail to mention the thousands, if not millions of people using their Creative products with no problems. The opinions of one disgruntled customer is unlikely to deter informed people of making a decision to puchase from Creative. True, you have a right to your opinions and to express them, I'm just not sure this is the right place. This forum is intended to help people. • Other computer not recognizing Ipod touch

I gave my ipod touch 4th generation to my brother.  I reset it before I gave it to him but his computer doesn't recognize the ipod and neither does my dads computer.  My brother has a macbook and my dad has a mac desktop.  What could be causing this?  How do I fix it?

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
You should have iTunes version 10.7 or later on the iPod and that requires OSX 10.6.8.
Hower, you shuld be able to sync (but not restore) the 4G with OSX 10.5.8 if you have iTunes 10.6.3

  • TS1538 Computer not recognizing iPod Touch

My computer or iTunes is not recognizing my iPod Touch but is recognizing another iPod touch.

I had similar issue - on Win7 - (not sure what your Operating System is) and solved with this approach:
deleting the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under 'USB Controllers' in 'Device Manager'
    Plugging device back in
And allowing internet search for drivers - this time device has been discovered and able to show in iTunes

  • Computer not recognizing ipod touch 1 generation

My Mac is not recognizing my 1st gen iPod Touch. I just updated to Snow Lepard, finally... Now it will not recognize the iPod. Checked for updates and downloaded those for 30 minutes, not any better. Any ideas?

Let me see if I can remember...
Hold down the Home button and then hold down the power button to power it down.
Hold down the Home button while connecting the iPod to the computer via the USB cord.
It should start up and show the iTunes icon and a picture of a USB plug on the screen. Release the Home button. At this stage iTunes opened up and said that it detected an iPod in the process of restoring. Click Restore (or Continue, or whatever it was). I was told I needed a software update, so I accepted that. It took about six minutes to download on my cable internet access. When the new software was installed iTunes tried to restore the iPod, but it was taking forever. After several minutes (five?) I got an error. I clicked OK and, leaving the iPod connected, restarted the computer.
When the computer restarted iTunes started automatically and detected the iPod. I clicked Restore again, and this time the restoration was successful. When it was done, it began synching the iPod (another long process, since I keep over 3,000 tracks on it).
I'm going from memory, so you may want to search for specific instructions on restoring an iPod Touch; but I'm pretty sure that was the sequence of events.
    Good luck!

  • Device not recognized - Zen Visio

Day 3... I made the mistake of installing WMP beta without updating my firmware on my Zen Vision M player. It has not recognized my player since. I am not able to rollback to WMP0. I did a system restore to a couple days back before the WMP beta install. Shows WMP0, but device still not recognized. I have plugged another MP3 player and a camera into the USB 2.0 ports and they recognize fine. I updated the firmware on another computer - recognized device fine. So, I know the device works, and my computer is the problem. I am running Windows XP - Service Pack 2. At this point, I am out of options. I am assuming I need to edit my registry. Anyone have any suggestions before I chunk this into the trash and get an IPOD? Thanks for any replies.

i find it hard to believe that I haven't got a single reply to this problem, and neither a reply from creative (I've emailed them, and also replied to their automated email).
I've kept trying to test the mp3 player every few hours, and it worked only once since then. Again, when it worked, it worked on all three computers tested.
I really lost my interest in creative products now, so much different from the times of my creative muvo mx.
Is there really no solution? I'll just return it back

This is my second time syncing my ipod touch and I've had my classic for forever and just use it to play in my car. I tried shutting down and it still did not work. Help? Thanks a bunch
Also...my computer recognizes both of them (Asus, Windows 7)

  • Savant not recognizing iPod touch

Hi, I've got a Savant system in my house that runs off of an iPod dock that normally has an iPod touch on it. Yesterday, I unplugged the iPod and plugged in an iPhone 4 in order to access the music on it, but the Savant app on my iPad/other iDevices isn't recognizing the iPhone. I unplugged the iPhone and replugged the iPod back in, but still no luck recognizing it.
Neither device will charge on the dock, but if I access the iPod app from the actual device (either iPhone or iPod, whatever is plugged in) and not the Savant app, I can get music to play normally. This is a pain since I don't want to have to go to the dock to change artists, song, etc.
Let me know if anyone has experienced this problem before, thanks!

Try powering the iPod off and back on and then see if it's recognized. If not, perhaps this will help if you haven't seen it already:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591
If that fails, try cleaning the dock connector with electrical contact cleaner; there may be corrosion or debris that's preventing contect, then try a different cable, or try the iPod on a different computer.
If it's not recognized even then, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with the iPod.
    Regards.

  • 11.1.4.62 itunes update not recognizing ipod touch

Please Help.  Did the update to Windows 8.1 yesterday and now iTunes does not recognize my iPod(s) etc.  I looked in Windows and device shows up but now in iTunes.  I downloaded the new iTunes and reinstalled (Repair) and that did not help.  Anyone have any suggestions at all?

See section 5 of TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows.
If that doesn't help it may pay to tear down and reinstall iTunes in the following manner...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
