Any idea how can i make iDVD 04 to see my external dvd burner?

    Hi Milton:
iDVD prior to Version 5 requires an internal drive, but I assume you know that hence your question.
You need this "Easter Egg" hack to make it work.

  • Mediasource organizer doesn't allow to play a player tr

    Hi all
I don't know if is it a bug or a feature. Nomad Jukebox 3 plenty of music. _I've installed Creative MediaSource Organizer & Player and the Nomad/Zen plugin for the Mediasource.
However, when I choose a track to be played on my pc the only thing that happens is the track added to the lower left corner pane ("now playing"). The song is stopped and no sound.
I use other software and o problem with this.
    any suggestion?
    thanks in advance

Did you try getting the latest version from Nomadworld.com downloads?
If you are getting problems installing I would suspect more that there is a problem with the Windows install.

  • Why doesn't my serial ata dvd burner stay engaged?

I recently installed an internal dvd and it will not stay engaged.
Eventually as I am working in something unrelated to the dvd, the burner will put up a message telling me that I inserted a dvd and what speed i would like to burn at even though I didn't insert any dvd. this is followed by disengagement of the driver or a message code say the it is unsupported.
When I access my profile it shows only the super drive but not the newly installed dvd burner in the disk burning category however the new burner is listed in the seril-ata category.
when I restart it will  reinstate the burner and i go through the same ordeal again.
    Thank you for any advice.

Apart from the Energy Saver setting, the drive should work with OSX except for playing Blu-ray movies.
You can play Blu-ray movies with Mac Blu-ray Player

If you don't want to buy that, you can use MakeMKV

  • DVD Studio Pro 4 doesn't see my dual layer burner

Not too long ago, I upgraded my superdrive to the MCE 16X DVD-/+R drive with double layer support. Now, when I try to burn to DVD Studio Pro 4, the drive is not listed as an output option. The only thing listed are my hard drives. Allegedly, this drive is supposed to have native support with both DVD Studio Pro 4 and Tiger. Short of taking out this drive and putting the single layer drive back in, does anyone have a suggestion?
By the way, it WILL burn CDs in ITunes...

Don't know much about the burner, but can you can use Toast or Disk Utility as mentioned in may threads involving alternative burning outside of DVDSP?
If so then there ya go but if not then back to single-layer I guess.

  • Premiere Elements 3 doesn't see my DVD drives?

    Hi
I have been using PE3 for a long time.
I just got a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit.
I thought that PE3 was working great until I got ready to write my production to DVD.
When I get to that point I get the "No DVD drive detected" message.
I have two DVD writers in my computer both are working normally.
I put a blank DVD in each of them but no matter what I do PE3 doesn't see them.
When I click on the drop down it is blank.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get Elements to see my drives?
If this fails, can I write the project to a folder (that seems to work OK) and then just copy the project to a DVD from there?
    Any help welcome
    Mike

Many considerations in your present situation, but for now I will leave you with a link to the free 30 day Premiere Elements 8.0 tryout from Adobe.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_elements&loc=en_us
Top of the list for getting started on the right foot with version 8.0
    a. Download and install the Premiere Elements 8.0.1 Update (Patch)
    b. Turn of the Background Rendering (that should be done automatically by the installation of the 8.0.1 Update) but check anyway...Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General.
    c. Turn of the AutoAnalyzer Feature (See Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options)
There are users out there successfully using Premiere Elements 8.0.1.
I do not work for Adobe nor have any affliation with them. I will take another look at your Premiere Elements 3.0.2 issue and see if I can come up with any worthwhile suggestions.
    ATR
Add On....If you can burn to folder successfully, take just the VIDEO_TS Folder from the saved folder and burn that to a DVD disc using a program such as Nero (Burn Video Files category, not Make Data Disc) or the free program IMGBurn (strange program but effective for the purpose) using the Write files/folders to disc category. In either case, the VIDEO_TS will be burn to the DVD disc with the right file system for DVD-VIDEO on a DVD disc.

  • MediaSource Organizer not seeing Zen To

Seems there are quite a few questions like this without any good answers (that i can find, i apologize in advance if this has been in fact answered before), so i am going to try and spell everything out as detailed as possible in hopes of help.
I have a 20GB Zen Touch and I realized there was a firmware upgrade for it about a week ago. Feeling that fresh starts are always best, I moved all my mp3's from the Zen Touch over to my computer, and formatted the device and uninstalled all creatives (old) software.
Next, I upgraded my player to the new firmware PlaysForSure v2..0.
Then I downloaded the "Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players" so my computer-side was also up-to-date.
The new Creative Explorer was a bit weird to me, but I synced my music from my computer back over to the player and then ran the cleanup and scandisk and stuff on it to get it all in top condition. My biggest rant about the new explorer type thing for the playsforsure firmware is it's lack of ability to really organize your music in an orderly and quick fasion.
This is where my problem comes in. I want to use the Creative MediaSource Organizer to organize my music on the player just like I use to on the old firmware. So I saw on the software suite download that it included a plugin for mediasource, so I figured it must still be compatible.
So I downloaded Creative MediaSource v3.30.2 and installed it, restarted and all that. So then I plug my Zen Touch into my computer and the usual window asking me what to do pops up. I close it and open MediaSource instead, but it does not even see my Zen Touch.
I have also tried installing the "Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource" in hopes of that working, but it still does not.
So my question is basically, why won't MediaSource see my Zen Touch despite the firmware and updates saying it should?
Thanks for any and all help!

    Install in the following order:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.
    - (Depending on your product and firmware) For non-PlaysForSure Zen series: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.or:For PlaysForSure Zen Touch: Download and install the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players.
    - If it is listed for your product: Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • TS2057 mac mini doesn't see dvd

Recently my mac mini doesn't see dvd's when i put them in to play.

I have to agree with Dah●veed and use an > LG GE24LU20 Reviews that I call Brutus.
Not only has Brutus spared the SuperDrives in both my 2006 iMac and 2010 Mac Mini, but he runs circles around the SuperDrives when it come to burning, importing, playing, even booting from System Install and Upgrade Disc's.
Other External DVD Drives that are highly reccommended here in the forums, are:
    OWC's > SuperDrive DVD, DVD Dual-Layer, CD-R/RW, Blu-Ray Optical Drive Solutions FireWire, USB2, eSATA
    and the LaCie's > LaCie - LightScribe DVD±RW, Duplicators and Blu-ray - USB 2.0 & FireWire

  • Mac mini doesn't see/eject/burn cd's/dvd's

My Mac mini no longer recognizes cd's/dvd's - I have a cd stuck that doesn't show up on the finder, and can't be ejected. There have been a few instances over the last few weeks where the cd will appear in the finder. I can then eject it, but when I insert another cd, it disappears.
I am experiencing similar behavior from my external dvd burner, which suggests to me that this is a system/os issue. Both had worked fine for years, and there have been no significant changes to my system since.
Here's what I've tried, based on research at Apple Support:
    Eject key in sleep mode
    Cmd-Opt-O-F on reboot
hold mouse key down on reboot
    Disk Utility disk permissions repair
    Onyx disk repair
    PRAM reset
Nothing has affected my situation. Please advise.

Here is the most simple trick that always gets overlooked with discs stuck in drives - Open Toast (or a burn folder), drop some data in to burn, click burn and "Wulla!" the disc magically comes out (most of the time). Too easy, isn't it? - This is also a good way to check if your drive is being recognized by the system. The fact it happens with your external drive as well points more towards the kind of discs you are using and their condition, so it might be worthwhile experimenting with a few different brands of discs. Try running the hardware test from your OS disc and see if it finds any errors.

My Theme disappears from the DVD after I burn it on to a disc. I know it's there but my DVD player doesn't "see" it. How do I burn an iDVD that will play the theme?

It sure is. It also plays on my PC using VLC Player. So, I know that it was burned onto the DVD.

  • Encore doesn't "see" blank media in DVD burner

When I try and burn a project to a DVD I get the message;" Please insert media". I've tried several different blank discs, as well as different brands...no matter what I still get this message. I can play pre-recorded DVDs in the burner, as well as music and data CDs...no problem. I've tried disabling the burner in Device Manager; and then re-enabling; also tried uninstalling the burner..no luck. I've uninstalled any other burning software that was on the machine and Encore still will not recognize that blank media is present in the DVD burner. I've run out of things to try/look at....Help!

Create an .ISO on the hard disk, use
    ImgBurn
    to create the DVD
If that works, you have "something" breaking the communication link between Encore and the drive

Even uninstalling software may not fix the problem... you may need a registry cleaner after the uninstall, such as

  • Mediasource Organizer import crash at 1000 tra

I'm using the very latest version of Mediasource Organizer (5.00.20), and have found that it crashes consistently before I reach 000 tracks in the PC Music Library with:?"Faulting application ctimprtu.exe, version 5.0.5.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.280, fault address 0x000a6d." It doesn't matter what the track is - importing any new track into the library reproduces the problem. I have 999 tracks in the library at the moment ?Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix (apparently not, if I have the latest version from the Creative site...)??

    holeinone wrote:
?If msvcrt.dll were really that buggy, I suspect far more applications than Mediasource would be failing... By the way, the version of msvcrt.dll in \windows\system32 is 7.0.2600.280
Do a web search for the error you are getting and you will see that a lot of other apps have problems with this exact same version of msvcrt.dll. Apologies for appearing to talk down to you in my reply but not many people in here have as much software knowledge as you so we have to give a reply that will be OK for all levels. PB

  • Creative Mediasource Organizer Losing Year T

I use Windows XP, Creative Mediasource Organizer version 3.30.35 and my player is a Zen MicroPhoto 8G. I have over 4000 MP3 files organized with id tags in Creative Mediasource Organizer. These are almost exclusivly?MP3 files that I recorded myself. Of the 4000 files?there are only a handful, just?one album that could possibly find tag information?to pull from the internet. Yesterday,?more than?200 of my mp3 files?had blank?year tags. I entered the correct year in several dozen of these so that only about 65 had blank year tags. Then I closed the software and turned of my computer. Today I opened Creative Mediasource Organizer to work on filling in those blank year tags. There were over 400 blank year tags today. What is happening? I have PC Music Library open. I select a single file, right click, click properties, click tag information, enter the year in the year field, click OK. Then I right click and select "update tag" click "yes" to confirm that I want the changes to apply to the file itself and not just to the PC Media Library. Please, someone help me understand why?the number of blank year tags is growing instead of shrinking? What can I do to retain the information I enter in these tags?

YESTERDAY:?Monday March 2, 2007:?I edited my media library from within Creative MediaSource so that there are no files without a valid year in the year tag. For?each MP3 file the other standard tags also contain meaningful data. These are?title, artist, album and?genre,?but not track. I don't see any practical way to use the track field for some of these files, so not all of them have a track number. The files I want in my media library are all the MP3 and WMA files within C:/MP3 and it's subfolders. The properties of C:/MP3 as viewed from "My Computer" are 3922 files and 249 folders. About a dozen are WMA files and one is a text file. All the others are MP3 files. The problem is that?there are quite a number of duplicate entries. And the Media Library is reporting several hundred more files within C:/MP3?than "My Computer" is reporting there.
I used "Tools/Settings/PC Media Library/ Delete invalid entries" but it did NOT remove the duplicate entries. Exiting the program and opening it again did not correct the count either. So I selected ALL the files, right clicked, and selected "update tags." I clicked YES to update the tag data from the media library to the files. When that operation was completed, I deleted all the files from the library but not from the computer. And?now I am?importing all the files within C:/MP3?back into the library. It says "now transferring 859 of 3920 files." This is good! 3920 is very close to 3922 minus the one text file. I want to see if, when this transfer is finished, I will have the correct number of MP3 files in my media library, and I want to see if the tag data, including the year data, remains?intact after this transfer. The transfer is complete. I do have 3920 files in my media library now and the data in the id tags appears to be intact. Hopefully, this will still be the case when I open the software tomorrow. THE NEXT DAY:?Tuesday, March 3, 2007: Grrr! I now have 3950 files in my media library where it should be only 3920. I did not add anything ?or make any edits. Exactly 30 of these entries?have blank year fields. I'm thinking that Creative MediaSource is NOT?loosing the data in year tags as I first thought, rather it's ADDING entries that are identical to existing entries except that the year fields in the added entries are empty. I think that if I enter the correct year data, I will end up with 30 entries that are truly exact duplicates. I don't see a pattern or clue to tell me why these 30 and not the others ... they have different artists, different albums, genres and the data in the missing year fields was not all the same. In the track fields, a few are blank, but most of them have data. "Tools/Settings/PC Music Library/Clean up now" did not elimiinate these 30 extra entries. Looking at the properties of C:/MP3 from "My Computer" still shows 3922 files (one is a text file) ... From my experiments yesterday, I am pretty sure that I can delete these 30 extra entries and be left with valid entries for all my files. This is frustrating. I'm hoping that these observations will be helpful to a programmer working on the next version of Creative MediaSource. I would send these comments directly to them, but they don't seem to provide a way for me to do that.

  • MediaSource Organizer Never Delet

Let's say I have 0 albums on my computer's playlist. And let's say I have a brand-new MuVo2 FM unit. I connect it via USB, I run a sync, and voila, I have the exact same ten albums on my player.
But then let's say I get tired of one of the albums. So I delete it from my computer playlist, meaning I have 9 albums now on my playlist. On my next sync, I expect my MuVo to also have 9 albums. I expect it to get rid of the one that's not on my playlist.
But no -- after doing some searching on the board, I've come to the conclusion that Creative MediaSource Organizer never deletes anything from my MuVo2 FM unit. Is this true? I can't believe Creative expects to compete with Apple if they don't allow a sync to be a true sync.
If they're afraid of newbies losing their music somehow, then should't they at least have the option to allow the Organizer to delete files from the MuVo?
I've tried the Realplayer since one of the messages says it does sync, but Real makes a total mess (no directory structure, and it doesn't even write the playlists).

steve_lacey wrote:I have just updated my mediasource organizer to be compatible with my latest firmware update for my 60GB Creative Zen Xtra (2.0.03). However, when I try to explore the content of my jukebox in the organizer, instead of listing the contents on a track-by-track basis, I am presented with a standard windows-explorer style screen, with the contents listed by folder. This doesn't occur when I explore the PC music library. How can I restore the original view, which allowed me to explore my mp3 player on a track-by-track basis, and allowed me to sort by genre?
That's how it works when you have the PFS firmware (2.0.03) loaded.
