I finally got my Dri'veBay to work properly, now I would like to know wheter there are any useful remotecontrol plugins for winamp, e.g. .
I also would like to know how the audiophile guys among you have set up their volume and surround settings in the creative tools. (my speakers are: [http://www.teufel.de/de/Multimedia/s_33.cfm] )

I remember there are some older post that mention about a plugin for winamp but can't seem to find that post. Perhaps you should go to winamp website and search for the plugin.

I'm installing the Creative MediaSource software for my new NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra 40GB and I've been given the option of installing any or all of the following components:
- Creative MediaSource Nomad 2/3/Zen Plugin
- Creative MediaSource Jukebox Plugin
- Creative MediaSource MuVo Plugin
- Creative MediaSource II / MG Plugin
- Creative MediaSource Player Skin Pack
It seems to me that some of these are unnecessary in my case. Can anyone suggest which of those options are necessary for proper use with my player?

Those plugins are there only if you have any of the other players listed so that Creative Mediasource will recognize them when they are being plugged into your computer. But you still probably need to install their drivers. As long as you have the drivers to recognize your Xtra in Windows, then Creative Mediasource should have no problem syncing with your Xtra.

Mediasource Problem: Computer Restarts on App L

Heres hoping that someone has an idea of how to fix this.
Problem:
When I start mediasouce, the program seems to start fine, but before it is finished loading it suddenly reboots the whole computer. (no blue screen of death).
Critical error recovery from Windows says that there is a driver error. (does not indictate which driver).
Remedies attempted:
Just about everything, I have have even fdisked the machine, and reloaded a fresh install of Windows XP + SP2. All Motherboard, USB, etc drivers are current and uptodate. Zen Touch, Mediasource, etc are all patched to the current level. The last time the install of Mediasource was attempted, it was installed on a fresh version of the OS (nothign else installed yet including video driver) using Cleanboot mode.

Intel P4 2.53ghz
Windows XP Pro SP2
GB RAM
Intel 845 PESV Motherboard.
Creative Li've! 5. sound card.
80GB ATA HDD (internal)
200GB Firewire External HDD
Pioneer 4x DVD+/-RW

Other Information:
I have managed to install the software on my laptop where it works great.
The product package that I was attempting to install was Zen Touch 40GB + Mediasource.

Bought Zen Micro to replace Zen Nano Plus - Can't get it to work

HiSorry if this was answered somewhere, but maybe i'm just dense. Can't seem to get things going. I used to have a Zen Nano Plus which worked fine on my PC - Win XP SP2.Picked up a used Zen Micro - I thought that it would be better because of bookmarking - but I have yet to get it to work.Zen Micro says Version 2.20.05?Here is a list of what it says is loaded on my PC[Creative Product-PID][Installation Log]

Have tried to download drivers and software for Zen Micro. When I try to run it though, it does not install because it says that I do not have device connected. Have erased everything off of Zen Micro, but have not reformatted. When I attach Zen Micro to PC, Zen Micro displays "booted" & PC displays "Zen Micro" for a second or two, then switches to "MTP Device"?. Do I need to erase everything from the Zen Nano Plus first?2. What do you think my next step should be?Thx???

How can I use my remote, without using Media Sourc

I have an audigy2ZS Platinum Pro, and I hate the mediasource remote plugin, I was much happier with my Remote Center, that was on my Audigy Platinum.. Is there anyway to get remote center on this model, or do I have to use media source?

Intelliremote is a software program that replaces the cumbersome Creative Remotecenter software that is bundled with Soundblaster Li've!, Audigy, Audigy ZS and, X-Fi. Creative had an excellent idea bundling an infrared remote control with their product...it's just to bad the software "RemoteCenter" is a 2MB behemoth that doesn't even do what you want it to do!

Missing THX or EAX Center with X-Fi Xtreme Mu

Hello and greetings from Germany!?I recevied my Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music and plugged it into my computer. I started the system and Windows XP reminded me "found new hardware...". I installed the drivers with the included Creative Installation CD for Windows XP. All worked fine and Windows XP said the new hardware is now ready to be used.Ok, fine. I found the new Sound Blaster as "SB X-Fi Audio [E000]" in the sound-settings of Windows XP. I've also got the Audio-Console from Creative, where I'm able to do some preferences like CMSS-3D, Crystalizer and so on. I'm using a 5. System from Teufel and I get sound out of all speakers except the Subwoofer! I can manually turn its volume to maximum, but there's nothing. I'm completly missing preferences as they are shown here: http://www.teufel.de/de/Magazin/Prax...tion/index.cfm?I don't have got a THX-Console or a EAX-Console. I didn't find any software in the downloads for X-Fi Xtreme Music which looked like as they include such a Console...So I'm not able to activate the bass redirection, to test the several speakers for themselves, to set the distances of the speakers to each other, to set the audio signal and so on. Perhaps the problem is connected with the following thing:?I installed the drivers with the Windows XP Assistant (CD in, and then it started...), but when I insert the Installation CD from Creative now, I got two possibilties: "Sound Blaster X-Fi" and "Creative Media Source" I also installed "Creative Media Source" completly, but I didn't find anything like THX- or EAX-Center there. If I try to install "Sound Blaster X-Fi" it goes on like that:?Install-Shield Wizard starts and before it really starts with the installation, the following window comes up:?"Error?Setup can't find any supporting product on your system. Please check if your product is correctly installed, before you start the setup again. The installation is finished."?That was a loose translation by me of that upcoming window. When i press "OK" then in that window, the Install-Shield Wizard goes on with the installation (?) and the software says, that the installation has been successfully and that i have to restart the computer. So I don't really know, what or why this error message comes up, but fact is, that I haven't got any THX-Console or EAX-Console. I hope I could describe you my problem in a passably understandable way. *g*?As I said, I'm using Windows XP and the X-Fi Xtreme Music.Before I used On-Board Sound from my mainboard with the Realtek AC'97 software/drivers. Not enough disk space error - but not rea

I have a Nomad Jukebox 3 - no really. It runs like a champ!? I use it most often for recording 44KHz audio. I just did the auto-update thing for the mediasource and plugins, blah blah blah. Now I can't sync a large recording (about .4GB)?to my computer. It gives me this error:?There is not enough disk space at the destination for this transfer. this is obviously a bug because it was working before the update. Please HELP!!

I have the same problem - a Jukebox 3 which usually refuses to transfer files over about a gig.
My old system disk was 30Gb, and it always worked OK with that, but when I reinstalled everything on a 20Gb disk, I got problems. I slightly suspect it may get confused when it checks for disk space by a disk that's a lot bigger than was available back when the Jukebox 3 came out. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd be most grateful - last time I had to record the audio in through my soundcard!

Jukebox Zen Problems ripp

I seem to get a problem with CDs that I am trying to rip to the Music Library. The majority of the time the tracks are recognised and it starts ripping ok, but when it gets about half way, it stops ripping and sends a Microsoft error report.
It's driving me mad!!
Can anybody help?

Check that you have the latest version of mediasource installed (v3.30.2), look in 'about Creative Mediasource.'

Creative Centrale sync qu

Hi everyone first post here and looking for some advice. I have replaced my iPod with a Creative Zen xFi and am ovbviously using Creative Centrale to sync and upload my music. However, I have noticed that in my main iTunes playlist that I use there are about 750 songs but in the equivalent playlist on Centale there are only 60 songs and I cant get it to update. Can I clarify the following points:
1. Is this due to the?possibility that the other songs are songs I have purchased from iTunes thus making them incompatible to Centrale?
2. How do I overcome this problem, is it'ssimply a matter of ripping the songs onto CDs and then ripping them onto Creative Centrale?
I hope someone out there can help me, many thanks.

Glad to hear you have some of the functions working. When I installed my XM card it installed all of the applications on the CD. I do not know what bundled software came with the Xtreme Audio card. Do you have your original SB install CD? Below is my install log for the XM card.

Zen Micro Vista Compatib

So, here's my problem. I just got a new laptop with Windows Vista installed on it. (home premium that really matters.) and I want to install my Zen Micro 5GB player. I started off by using the installation disc, which did **bleep** all. Then came on here, and downloaded MediaSource 5 which is "compatible with Vista" that didn't work either.. it said it could not find any compatible devices. So I installed the MediaSource 5 plugin, but it said that I needed to Install mediasource 5 first. So, what the hell is up Is this going to work with vista or not Because right about now I feel like going out and buying an iPod.

How is it responding now, have you rebooted the system since then or has the installer stopped giving that message? Is the player recognised correctly on the system? Can you access it in for instance Windows Media Player? If it works there, then the update should have completed and it should be fine on Windows Vista too.

Right i've just formatted my pc like 40 mins ago i reinstalled every thing updated every thingl like usual then i pluged my zen in and it came up with the windows install drivers thing but it had the newest firware on it but it still wanted drivers so i came on here got the drivers installed reconnected my player but still it wasnt working i tried a few other mothds of the forums but they still didnt work so i deleted the firmware of my player thinking there could of been a problem there and dowloaded the firmware upgrade app and now windows still ditects it but wont install it still and the firmware app cant find it but u can see it in device manager with the yellow question mark above it i also inserted the original creative cd at the start to see if it would take the drivers of it when the windows install window came up but that doesent work either help i really dont no what to do now thx.
PS: i also i have sp,2 installed and wmp0

Double-click it in Device Manager. What's the "device status"? The yellow ? could be something as simple as "<i>There is a previous version of the driver in memory. Restart Windows.</i>"
The software on the original CD won't help. The MTP firmware (2.x) should work with just WinXP with WMP 0, but there is an updated version of the MediaSource 3 plugin for use with the new firmware.

Change default directory for Creative files (such as Media Databa

I'm using a Zen xtra with WinXP Pro on my company laptop. The Creative software puts a lot of files (7 MB!) in my user profile under Document and Settings. Unfortunately, this is making my profile larger than my company allows, since they back up the profile over the network.
How can I change the default directory for these file? I can't find any .ini files that might declare the path, and I can't find anything in the Windows Registry that points to my profile.
Help please?

Thanks for the suggestion of deleting the JetFileBackup folder, Micromouse. I'll try it.
Any other files look deletable? Without any way to move them, I may have to try deleting some and see what happens.
I'm not even sure which Creative programs can be uninstalled (other than Nomad Explorer) and still be able to use MediaSource to play songs from my Zen Xtra (through a USB connection). Windows Add/Remove Programs says that I've used all of these programs today:
Creative Jukebox Driver
Creative MediaSource
Creative MediaSource AudioSync Plugin
Creative MediaSource NOMAD Jukebox 2/3/Zen Plugin
Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra
But all I've done is open MediaSource and start a playlist from my Zen Xtra. Anybody know which of those can be uninstalled without affecting my use? (Maybe this deserves a separate topic.)

Challenging question - Internet click

Okay here goes. I'm not annoyed by the navigation click when you hit an link on a webpage. But the click is different...it's interrupted. When I surf to the location and play the .wav file called Windows Navigation Start, the sound is a click as normal. But when I actually navigate, the click is shorter.
To make things even more confusing, things worked fine before I updated to the latest software from Creative. Now, if this is the extent of my problem then no biggie - but for some reason I'm suspicious that if this sound doesn't work correctly - what about other sounds Especially in games...
Can anyone help me I can always downgrade my drivers and software...but that's counterintuiti've to me.

) Yeah, I've noticed this too - but only when i have CMSS set to Stereo Expand.
If i disable CMSS or change to Stereo Surround, it goes away.
But, even with CMSS set to Stereo Expand, its only very small sounds (like clicks) that seem to be affected. Overall - everything seems to work fine for me.
