Medical apps for Pre

After multiple years of working my way up from a 505 I am now concidering a Pre.  My biggest concern is for work--medical.  Anybody out there using medical apps that has any helpful ideas? I have heard that epocrates works but what about my references, calculators, etc.  Somebody give me some good news, please!!
Post relates to: Palm TX

as far as I have heard, epocrates is the only one that has already stated that it will be developed for the pre:
http://palmdoc.net/?p=2198
here are some of the medical community concerns:
http://palmdoc.net/?p=2137
and yet one more article with info about medical apps (or lack there of):
http://mobihealthnews.com/2570/palm-pre-launches-with-no-medical-apps/
for now, epocrates online and webMD will have to do.  I'm really hoping they come out with apps soon, i don't get a signal in some parts of my hospital :-(

  • App for pre-approved card or wait?

I have a C1 platinum 800 limit since april and a C1 Quicksilver - the one with the annual fee - $500 limit that I just got in the beginning of July.  I know I should have at least 3 revolving credit lines.  I would like to get the third one established sooner rather than later and then start to garden and age off the multiple inquiries I have while working on some other areas of my rebuild. I want as much time as possible to recover from the hit I assume my score will take when I apply and to age the account before we start searching for mortgages hopefully next spring/summer. I check for pre-approvals all the time because I'm a bit obsessed and I finally got one for the Discover it card.  No other credit cards give me pre-approvals yet.  Scores are 618, 638, 644. I honestly don't know if I want a discover card.  I don't know what I want.  The amount of information is all overwhelming and goes right over my head.  I need some kind of comparison chart designed for a 5 year old to understand.  (does that exist anywhere?) I'm trying to go about this rebuild the RIGHT way.  But I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out which is the RIGHT card.   Should I get it because I can (probably) or should I hold off until something better comes along - and how will I know what's better?

Update, from this thread: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Discover-online-preapproval/td-p/3023272 "Does it say anywhere on the page.... "Congratulations, you are pre-approved for the following cards/products?"  If not, it is probably the standard offer page when there isn't a pre-approval." I just tried the link again and it gave me the "Here's The Card We Found For You" with a merlot colored Discover IT.
I tried it again with the name Snoop Dogg and SSN 1234 and it gave me "Here's The Card We Found For You" with the silvery blue Discover IT card....

  • Medical App for Watch

I am the sole caretaker for my husband who has ALS. I am looking for an app that will act as a caretaker companion for me. The watch is already a life saver and it hasn't even arrived yet. Recently he fell and was on the ground thirty minutes before I got home to find him.  Specifically, I am looking for something that I can monitor when I am not in the room with him or out of the house.  I would like to be able to go to the grocery store and take the kids to school with the comfort of knowing I can monitor his vitals which could save us precious time needed to save his life.  It would also be nice if I could have one place to track vitals, diet, mood, decreases in mobility, etc.  I have been researching apps but not finding anything.  Does anyone have any idea's of something that may help me?  I appreciate your thoughts on this.

You can edit height, weight, age in the iPhone Watch app, under Health.
You can change your Daily Move goal (how much energy you're expecting to burn, which equates to exercise level) on the watch. Open the Activity app and force touch the screen - you'll be asked if you want to adjust the goal and, if so, there's a screen which allows you to move it up and down.
Unfortunately (in my opinion). there's no evident connection between the calorie level and terms such as Moderate, Advanced or whatever, which is causing confusion for some people (including me )

  • How to write an app for Pre's Linux?

    Hello,
The question is a hard one, but i am sure there are people who know the answer.
Can someone help me to write an application to run in Pre's command line, talk to the GSM module using at commands.
I will pay a reasonable fee if needed.
maxrfon a t gmail is my email (format it pls yourself, to avoid spam in mailbox)
    Thanks.

Yeah, it will be a very steep learning curve with no programming experience at all. There's a huge amount to learn. Even just starting out with generic programming concepts before you move onto Objective-C specifically, and then finally on to iOS specific API's, methods etc.
Perhaps a WebApp would be better to start with as you have some experience of HTML & Javascript?
Here's some general info on that:
    http://developer.apple.com/library/safari/#referencelibrary/GettingStarted/GS_iP honeWebApp/_index.html%23//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40008134
And a couple of WebApp frameworks which shorten development time hugely:

  • RadioTime App not showing up in Palm's App Catalog for Pre users inside the United States!

    Hi,
Preware is telling me that there is an update for RadioTime which I purchased from Palm's App Catalog a few months ago.
    I love this app!
However, when I attempt to do the update, the Palm App Catalog is telling me there is no app there!
The app shows OK when looking for it from the Palm's Website, here is the link it's at the bottom of the page on the right side:
    http://www.palm.com/us/products/software/mobile-applications.html
I think they mistakenly set updated app to be only for Pixi users and that is why it's not showing for the Pre users.
That of course is just a guess as to why it's not showing up.
I am trying to contact Palm Support to let them know of the problem but when I attempt to do a LIVE chat, it's not working with either IE or Firebox or even Chrome browsers.
I am not going to call and pay $15 to tell them about their problem!
Please can someone who has inside contacts please let them know of the problem!
    Thanks!
    Rob
PS I will be watching for any replies that made to this new thread!

    http://www.houseofpalm.com/palm.application.com-app-radiotime-qFm.aspx
It looks like radiotime is available only for Pixi users. Palm does not control who gets the applications it is done by the developer, you may want to try contacting them asking if the application can be opened up for Pre users as well.

If you're concerned, you could always create wallpaper with some sort of ID/contact information and place it on the lock screen. I wouldn't suggest using any direct contact for you, of course, for privacy reasons, but perhaps some sort of "neutral" emergency contact such as a relative's cell phone.
Or just carry some sort of ID; depending on a cell phone for identification probably isn't reliable regardless of the phone used. A MedicAlert bracelet or something similar might be your best option since that would allow emergency responders to get your information while still protecting your privacy.

  • Can I preload US apps for students overseas?

What is the best way to pre-purchase apps for iPads overseas?
I am gifting two iPads for Christmas to my wife's niece and newphew overseas. They are young college students and have no money or credit cards, nor does the family. One of them is a gifted art student and I am trying to inspire her to discover digital art making with an iPad. I also want them to have fun with some games. The plan was for them to setup their own local Apple IDs. I purchased an iTunes gift card for this purpose but learned that a US gift card cannot be redeemed in another country.
I also know you can only purchase iTunes (music) or apps from your country store. I know that if you change accounts, updating of apps stops, and so on. I do not know if their country store has these great art apps?
Are there any solutions to this? How can I see what is available in their country iPad APP store? If the apps are available, I'll let them handle it. Can I send an Apple iTunes gift to their account in their country?
If there are no solutions, I was going to create Apple IDs for them, redeem the already-purchased gift card and pre-load the apps. Is this ok? If no credit card is involved, does this require a US address or US email? I could create them if needed.  If I have to utilize this approach, can I continue to redeem US gift cards to their account for new apps even though they are physically out of country? I thought I read that downloads can only happen when physically located in that country????---hope I'm wrong on this.
Anyway, while the world is in a global economy, apparently it's a global mess. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

  • Multiple errors opening up a App for Sharepoint in VS2013

I have every pre-requisite installed on my Server 2008 R2 VM.
I launch VS2013, I have added my Azure web site and I have logged into my o365 account successfully. When I create new Project, App for SharePoint, the solution opens up in VS and I immediately get 5 errors:
Error 1 The type or namespace name 'SharePoint' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Users\administrator.SHAREPOINT\documents\visual studio 2013\Projects\SharePointApp1\SharePointApp1Web\Controllers\HomeController.cs 1 17 SharePointApp1Web

I can fix error 1 by manually adding the reference but the others I can't, no matter how many pre requisite exe/msi I re run.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
Installed the following prerequisites to solve the problem:
◾Turn on "Windows Identity Foundation 3.5" in Windows Features
◾Installed "Windows Identity Foundation 4.0 (sic) SDK" from MSDN
◾Installed ASP.NET Web Tools Refresh for Visual Studio 2013 Preview
◾Installed SharePoint 2013 Client Components SDK
    ◾Run Visual Studio as Administrator!

  • Why is Adobe dropping support for pre 3GS phones?!

I think it's a bad decision to drop support for pre 3GS devices. There are still many out there and if support is dropped we're forced to still use the old PFI to reach the complete audience.
It's clear that OpenGL ES 2 offers a lot more fancy stuff than OpenGL ES 1.5 does, but still, things like GPU_VECTOR or sophisticated blending are perfectly doable with OpenGL ES 1.5.
And if a clean implementation is really not possible, Adobe should at least allow to publish for old devices even if this means that not all optimization techniques can be used.
I develop iPhone apps using different technologies and AIR is attractive for me because I can target with one project a big range of different plattforms. If Adobe drops support for old phones, this advantage is heavily shortened!
What is your opinion on the this development?

Apple have dropped support for pre-3GS because to pull of the features and performance in iOS 4.3 they had to develop just for the ARM7 chip, and not for the ARM6. They probably have a good sense of the number of people that have the older devices, and think it's ok to not update the software on those devices.
The same may be true for Adobe.
I am trying to find out how to make AIR 2.6 and AIR 2.0 live together in Flash CS5. If I work it out I'll let you know.

  • Error trying to create App for SharePoint Online

I'm trying to create my first app for SharePoint Online using Visual Studio 2012. I believe I have all of the pre-reqs installed/configured. I have created a dev site in our SharePoint Online environment. I am a Site Collection administrator for that site.

Once I login, it takes me to the screen that reads "Error: An error has occurred on the server" with the standard SharePoint correlation id.

Is Adobe AIR pre-installed on Kindle Fire?
Yes, developers can publish Adobe AIR 3 applications for the Kindle Fire by packaging them as ‘captive runtime’ applications. However, these captive runtime applications will not support on-device debugging.
