  • Intel pro pc camera (usb) used in labview

Hi, I've bought an in pro pc camera (usb) and I want to be able to use it in LabVIEW. I've read a lot about using active x and library, but I still don't really understand of how it works. Ive also tried the vi written by INVENTering and it always say that "the object could not be load". I need to use it quickly, and it will be used to detect if leds work or not on a machine (in production). So if any of you have ideas, I thank you in advance. If you need more information on my system, please communicate with me.
Here's a list of the library that I have for my camera.

    Julien,
Pete Parente created an open source (Berkeley modified license) LabVIEW library that can perform image captures from a standard USB webcam. A number of other tools for converting the images to and from the IMAQ format for image processing are also included.
The library can be found at http://www.mindofpete.org in the Ideas section.

  • Digital camera usb

I have a slot on the left side of my powerbook, is there a piece of hardware that i need to purchase in order for my cameras usb cord to be plugged in to be able to save my pictures to the computer.
    thanks,
    lltej

All G4 powerBooks have USB ports. The "port" you describe is the for optical drive, CD or DVD.
I suggest you study your manual. If you lost it then download a copy from: http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/

  • How can I use the built-in Isight camera with an external camera (usb/firewire) at the same time?

How can I use the built-in Isight camera and an external video camera at the same time?
I'm wanting to stream over Oovoo/Skype/etc. using 2 cameras.
    Thanks

Simple question with a not so simple answer.
    (a) If you mean that you want to run multiple apps simultaneously using a different camera with each app, you may encounter computing power limitations.  Digital video is processor intensive.  The only way to know if your Mac can do this it to try it.  If the video does not work together but each app works when it it the only app running, you are likely overloading your Mac's ability to process and/or move all the required data in your data bus.  You can get a better indication of whether this is the case by watching your Activity Monitor utility while running the apps you want to use.
    (b) If you mean that you want to have more than one compatible camera connected to your Mac simultaneously for ease of changing between video sources, some, but not necessarily all, apps you are using to operate your camera(s) allow you to select between your cameras.
How you select among connected cameras depends on which application you are using. Here is how camera selection works in a few examples:
    (1) For iChat, you can choose which iSight you use in the "Camera:" choices bar in iChat > Preferences... > Audio/Video that appears when more than one compatible camera is connected. Although your camera choices will be different, the choices bar will look something similar to the Preferences settings shown here:
If you cannot see the "Camera" choices bar, your Mac is recognizing only one (or none) of your cameras. In that case, consider the suggestions fromhttp://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 for iSight problems or refer to your other camera's documentation for help.
This particular choices bar solution applies ONLY to iChat. Most other applications also have settings that allow you to choose which camera to use. However, they do not all work the same way.
    (2) For instance, iMovie HD's camera choice is NOT set via Preferences. When you have more than one compatible camera connected, iMovie6 HD uses a drop-down menu choice something like this (depending on which version of iMovie you use):
Note: Because I had no built-in iSight connected when I made this example, and because my external iSight was not connected, the drop-down menu showed only "Time Lapse." Because your Mac has a built-in iSight, your built-in iSight would show in the drop-down menu even when no other camera is connected. Connecting an additional Mac compatible webcam should allow you to choose either camera.
Other iMovie versions work slightly differently.
iMovie 9 (from iLife '11) uses a different camera choice button shown in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/9.0/en/mov39f84285.html
iMovie 8 (from iLife '09) is slightly different as explained in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/8.0/en/10172.html
In general, you can use your Mac's help for the application in use to find out how to select among more than one connected camera.
    (3) Photo Booth in Snow Leopard 10.6.x and later uses the Photo Booth > Camera menu command to select which camera to use.
Note for readers with older Mac OS X: The previous version of Photo Booth that came with Tiger (10.4.x) is such a simple, basic app that it offers no menu selectable choice. Unless your built-in iSight is already occupied as the camera being used by some open application before you launch Photo Booth, Photo Booth will use ONLY your built-in iSight.
However, you can use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to let Photo Booth use an external camera.
(If you have an external Firewire camera connected, it may be used in preference to any USB webcam. If that is a problem for you, merely disconnect the problem Firewire device.)
    (4) For FaceTime, launch the app and click the Video menu item.
If your Mac recognizes more than one connected compatible camera, a "Camera" section listing the cameras from which you can choose will appear there. Clicking on the desired camera name will let you select the one you want as shown in this image from my Mac Pro and LED Cinema Display:
If your Mac recognizes only one compatible camera, the "Camera" section will not appear in the Video menu, but FaceTime will automatically use the connected camera that is recognized by OS X.
    (5) I do not use Skype oir Oovoo.  For those or other apps, see Help for each app for info on how to select your desired camera.

  • Camera USB adapter Power Message

First it must be said I'm a huge Apple supporter. Drink the CoolAid no, I've been mixing it in the back and passing it out for years. My first macs were a IIe and a IIc, and many many others sense. I also know that I should be used to this sort of thing by now. Normally I would let others make comments etc about this and just sit by and watch the outcome from the side lines. For some reason not this time….
I must admit I'm feeling a bit screwed by Apple. I bought my 3G iPad the day it was available and spent a couple of months tracking down a camera adapter kit for it. One of the biggest reasons I made the purchase was to be able to Quickly view my shots in a larger size. It worked beautifully!
I have a SanDisk ImageMate 12 in 1 card reader which is a compact multi card format usb device. Before I upgraded to iOS 4 it worked marvelously. I could take shots with what ever device, with which ever card format, plug the card into the 12 in 1, and keep shooting while it was downloading images to the iPad. Now, I plug the 12 in 1 in and get a message that there isn't enough power to run the device. Yea?!, I might have bought that if it didn't work before the iSO 4 upgrade. But when it works flawlessly for months and then quits working because Apple decides they know better than I do which devices should be used with my iPad #%!*@!!!
Is it a battery life thing? Is it that my iPad may run for an hour less on a charge? Shouldn't that be my decision? How about a message "WARNING use of this device will reduce your run time" and give me the option to either continue using it or not. Don't tell me that it wont work, because that is now obviously a blatant lie. It's dishonest and a lousy way to treat a customer. For a company that want's us to believe that they are so concerned about our user experience it's a terrible way to show it.
Has anyone found a hack to get around this message? Or are those of us caught in this situation left with nothing else to do but wait and hope that the decision makers change their mind(s) and give us back the freedom we had before the NEW iOS?

I can understand the angst, but can also understand that Apple never claimed to be providing the equivalent to a USB 1.0 or 2.0 port, never guaranteed that anything other than the stated equipment could be used with the dock connection, etc.
My own belief is that two things were in play:
    1. They were somewhat surprised by the heavy and immediate use that some people made of that dock connection, connecting ip a wide variety of things, and
    2. They realized that unlike in 3.2, where the extra power drain didn't really make that big a difference, in 4.2.1 it now would be more of a factor
What's the best that can be hoped for here? Well, I suppose best of all would be if, after second and third looks, they decided that the difference isn't really that great and they can just return to the status quo ante. That doesn't seem that likely, but it's possible and would be popular.
A user-option selection in Settings could be added, probably along with the proviso that would warn about "... +enabling higher output power will result in a xxx% reduction in (performance and battery life)+ ...". I can't see much of a direct argument against doing that. One indirect argument against would be all of the resultant whining about "Well, if I can have my choice about this, why not also about this and that and that other thing too ...". If you go too far down that path you wind up having to hire some folks out of Redmond WA to come down and design your Settings Menu.
Decide what you want and need, describe and support it as best you can, and send it along via the iPad Feedback form. They won't chat with you, but they are responsive if enough people make a good enough case.

  • Camera / USB card reader not connection to macs anymore - fine with PCs

    Hi there,
I have a Canon EOS 50 which has a CF card - I normally connect this to our macbook pros with a crd reader via usb. Alternatively, I connect the camera directly.
Yesterday, something started to go wrong.
I was connecting the card to download photos - at first it recognised the card as an external drive, but was taking ages to read the photos. Then it flashed an error message up that it couldn't read the format of the disk (it had previously for about a year!).
Now when I connect the card via either reader or by connection to the camera, it doesn't recognise the card at all.
I tried this on both my mac book pros we own. Same issues.
Canon HD camcorder connects absolutely fine via usb, as does Ipod - so it isn't the usb port.
I think the cards are ok- (same issue with two different CF cards)
The camera connected no problem to my brother-in-law's vista machine, and downloaded the image files.
I tried connection with two different usb cables as well.
Any ideas as to what has happened?
    Thanks,
    ThreeIsles

Last year I purchased a USB card reader to have available with my laptop when I travel. It experienced the same problems you are having. It also wouldn't work with my G4.
I looked on the manufacturer's web site and sent their Customer Support an email explaining the problem. They sent me a new reader at no cost. It works. Suggest you do the same.
     Cheers, Tom

  • DCS-TX 7 Sony camera USB problems

I bought a Sony TX 7 camera and in the manual it tells you, that you can connect the camera to the USB Port, but it doesn't work. Leopard doesn't recognize the camera. When I take the card out and put it in a card reader, then I have know problems.
    Windows no problem
More people have problems with this?

What are you expecting to happen when you connect it via USB? Did you try opening iMovie to see if it sees it? Did you want iPhoto to grab content from the installed SD card?
Does System Profiler see it in your list of USB devices?
Is it plugged directly into one of your Mac's USB ports?
You say that Leopard doesn't see it. Do you have all of your software updates installed?
If you open /Applications/Utilities/Console and File > Open system.log do you see any USB messages there? If so, paste them here.

    Dear Chris,
    Thanks for helping me.
"Try to see the image from your camera in a Windows program, and if you can't see it there, you will not see it in LabVIEW."
I´ve already done it, PlayTv DVR is a Windows program.

I am already using is one of your examples. It is in attachment.

  • Seeking white iMac-to-camera USB cable

Where can I buy a white USB cable for connecting a digital camera to an iMac? I currently have a black one, and it spoils my otherwise all-white desktop.

I doubt that you can find such a thing, as many of those cables are camera specific. Copies of some of the cables for popular cameras are made by other manufacturers - I know that because I bought on eBay a duplicate for my specific model Nikon. Go to the camera manufacturer's website to see what they have, check on eBay, or Google it.

  • My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 stopped recognizing my camera USB

My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 stopped recognizing my Sony Exmor R Cybershot USB cord when it had been recognizing it and I have no idea what I can do.

Well there is no other port that I know of to use. Both USBs won't recognize it, but when I walk over to our desktop windows computer, it has zero problem so I'm not sure if it is an incompatibility even thought it is supposed to work fine with Macs.

  • Using Video Camera, USB vs. Firewire for performance question

I want to hand down my Sawtooth (upgraded to 1.8MHz / 1G RAM) to my parents to use as a skype machine. I am able to get a USB Logitech Notebook Pro Webcam to work, but video is much lower quality than I would like.
I am thinking it is the USB 1. speed of the machine. My question is if I invest in a used iSight Firewire, will that most likely alleviate the problem and get a cleaner, less choppy video sent. Other option is to get a Tango USB 2.0 card.
    Advice / Experience is appreciated.

    Hi-
Not sure of the quality of your webcam, as that makes a difference, but any USB 2.0 webcam will benefit from USB 2.0.
A PCI card is also a lot cheaper than a firewire webcam.
Make sure your PCI card is a NEC chipset.

    HELLO DOC1111 !
Please be aware that the Apple iPad 2 does not have an SD card reader either.
And before you go to the Samsung community forum, the Samsung Galaxy Tab does not have an SD card reader either.
Please go buy a Motorola Xoom if the SD Card reader is among your requirements.
And please do not use red.

  • How do I delete camera movies imported through the camera usb connector

I imported a bunch of photos from my Canon 7D into my iPad with the camera connection kit.  There were MOVs in there as well and now I can't delete them from the ipad.  They show up as a grey box that says MOV.  I can delete the photos I've imported, but not the MOV files.  Any thoughts?

After you complete the download a screen comes up asking you if you want to delete the Photos from the camera
A recommended workflow though is to not delete them there but wait until you are sure they are really in iPhoto ok and then use the camera's delete (or format) command to reformat the camera media
