Error 401 while trying to connect SSRS via BIDS Report Designer to PowerPivot workbook hosted in SharePoint 2013

I am having trouble connecting from BIDS 2012 to a PowerPivot workbook hosted in SharePoint 2013. I'm following this guide:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg413489.aspx but run into authentication problems (Error 401, access denied).
I saw this issue comming up a number of times on this forum, but non of the proposed solutions really solve my issue. Also a lot of the solutions apply to SP2010. I verified the following items and they seem to be ok:
All servers / clients are member of the same ad domain.
The Excel PowerPivot file opens in SharePoint Excel Online and sliders and filters work (so connection SSAS / SharePoint is ok)
I enabled Kerberos, and fiddler/ Kerberos auth tester (http://blog.michelbarneveld.nl/michel/archive/2009/12/05/kerberos-authentication-tester.aspx) are reporting kerberos is used when connecting to the sharepoint site.
SPN for the sharepoint server is created and the sharepoint service account is allowed for delegation.
When looking at fiddler when connecting to the PowerPivot document in BIDS, i see an ADOMD.net POST request to /_vti_bin/PowerPivot/redirector.svc/ failing with error 401, even the request containing the auth cookie.
I updated the web.Config in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\ISAPI\PowerPivot to use CredentialType "Windows" instead
of NTLM.
In the sharepoint logs I find this error:

The web-app is set to Negotiate so that's ok. I've reset the web.config back to Windows, but without luck.
I did see some strange log entries in the ULS logs:

You mentioned the claims-to-windows token service. How do i check if it is configured correctly?

Unable to get User Information in infopath form hosted on sharepoint online(2013)

Im trying to retrieve user information (department, Manager, Work E- Mail, Etc..) into an infopath form hosted in sharepoint online using "/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx"
web service. But it returns me an error when im opening the form as :

Cannot update new field through SharePoint properties on re-pubished InfoPath form

Hello,
I would truly appreciate any help with this problem. I've searched the forum for answers to this issue, but none of the ones I've found seem to
apply.
We are using SharePoint 2007.
When I re-publish a form with a new field, I am unable to modify that new field through SharePoint properties on older forms. I have tried re-linking the old forms but that does not resolve the issue. I can re-create this problem consistently in new
and old InfoPath form libraries.
Here are the latest steps I have taken to re-create the error:
Created Form Library called Error Testing.
Created new form (from blank template) with three data fields in the data source: name, occupation and address.
Added section and all fields onto the form.
Published form to Error Testing library. All fields were promoted and selected the “Allow users to edit data in this field by using a datasheet or properties page” option.
Created and saved Form 1 in library with no issues.
Opened edit properties and was able to modify and save the content in all three fields.
Added a new field to the form template: City.
Published form to Error Testing library. The original fields, and the new field were promoted and selected the “Allow users to edit data in this field by using a datasheet or properties page”
option.
Created and saved Form 2 in library with no issues.
Opened edit properties in Form 2 and was able to modify and save the content in all three fields.
Opened edit properties in Form 1, modified all fields and got the following message when I tried to save:
"Changes could not be saved into the document. The property to change is read-only for the document's content type, or the document is missing XML elements or attributes where
the changes would be saved. Try editing the document in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible XML editor such as MicroSoft Office InfoPath."
Modified each field one at a time and determined the field I could not edit and that was causing the error message was
the new City field.
I re-linked Form 1 and got same error message when I tried to modify the City field.
I opened Form 1 entered the city and saved.
The content of the city field appears in the SharePoint column and I am able to edit the content through the Edit Properties field.
This is an issue when we run a workflow that tries to update the new field on an old version of an InfoPath form.

You can certainly add the fields manually by using SharePoint Designer, but a more effective way to Open the form template in "Design Mode" Click "Tools" and then "Form Options" Choose "Versioning".
InfoPath defaults to not Upgrade forms automatically. If different versions are not a historical issue for this solution, then Change the default to "Automatically Upgrade Old Forms". Then republish form... The Next time you open a from in
the library with this content type it will upgrade the old forms in the library.

Crawl issue - warning: "This URL is part of a host header SharePoint deployment and the search application is not configured to crawl individual host header sites. This will be crawled as a part of ....a start address"

Hello all,
I have a multi-tenant environment in SharePoint 2010 server. Different tenants are hosted by one web app.
One content source has been created to crawl the all shared environment. (the only URL added in the content source settings = URL of the
web app)
Crawl everything under the hostname for each start address has been selected when creating this content source.
Now I have created a new tenant hosted by the same web app. For this new tenant I want to have a different crawl schedule. Simple , I just create a new content source and add the host URL of this tenant. With the same settings has the other content source.
After having started a full crawl I get 0 success and 1 warning : “This URL is part of a host header SharePoint deployment and the search application is not configured to crawl
individual host header sites. This will be crawled as a part of the host header Web application if configured as a start address.”
The first content source is well crawling the new tenant freshly created. Could you tell me where I’m wrong?

Baldo,
In the configuration that you described you now have 2 content sources set to crawl the same content. If you have a content source with a start address of http://servername/ then it is going to crawl everything past that address. If you are now changing
the crawl schedule based on the individual site collections, you will need to move your start addresses further down the URL.
For Example:
1st Content Source:
http://servername/ as a start address would now become
http://servername/site1
http://servername/site2
2nd Content Source:
http://servername/site3
Also remember that all crawling must happen on the default zone. If you are trying to crawl a zone that the web application has been extended into, that will not work.

Sending Outlook Meeting Requests through Outlook using JSP?

Hi all,
I'm trying to develop a web application that's able to invoke the Create New Meeting Request dialog from the client's Outlook (they are using Outlook 2002/2003), and populate some data from server-side into the Meeting Request, so that users can customize the Request if necessary and send it out.
Have looked at a few solutions as follows:
1) HTML's mailto
This is not good, coz the body can only accept plain text, whereas I need to be able to send HTML text (which Outlook can accept).
2) Outlook View Control
This was more hopeful, as I was able to invoke the new Meeting Request dialog. However still no way to send my data to the Meeting Request :-(
Basically, what I need is to be able to send a customized Meeting Request through some means, like for example getting Outlook to do it like the above, or sending out via some Java APIs (do they exist?)
Any ideas if the above is possible at all? Or if there are other ways to do this, other than relying on Outlook?
I'm open to any suggestions, even commercial solutions, since I'm quite urgently in need of options.
Note that I can't connect direct to Exchange (there are some solutions for doing that), because of some security issues which doesn't allow me to connect to the Exchange Server.

I think what you are suggesting is exactly what Outlook View Control is. Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, it seems that Microsoft did not give it sufficient controls to be able to pre-populate a new Meeting Request. You can only invoke the Outlook UI to create the Meeting Request, but there's no APIs to populate the new Meeting Request.
Have however found a possible alternative in the meantime:
Outlook supports iCalendar files which is a standard for calendaring information storage, and it is able to process a Meeting Request from an iCalendar file which contains details of the Meeting Request.
So what I'm looking to do is this:
1) Create the iCalendar file in the backend with Java.
2) Send an email to the user(s) who is intended to receive the Meeting Request, with the iCalendar file attached.
3) User clicks on the iCalendar file, which prompts them to process the Meeting Request.
Somewhat indirect, but gets the Meeting Request across, and all the 3 steps are actually possible.
Furthur to this, it opens up the possibility of sending Outllook Contacts (which supports iCard format) through similar mechanisms as well!

Corporate Templates allowing users to postback through SharePoint rights settings

We currently have our corporate MS Word 2013 templates on SharePoint. We have tested using group policy to set the Workgroup template folder and pull the templates into MS Word templates gallery through SharePoint/OneDrive and it has worked. We
are now needing assistance with the following issues:
1. The first problem is that the rights required for users to access the templates (Contribute) also allows them to post back to SharePoint and not only edit the template files but other folders are inadvertently appearing, such as Document Themes.
This is a deal breaker for us if we can't set permissions to allow them to use the templates but not have write access back up to SP.
2. The second issue is that the Document Properties box pops up every time a template is used from SharePoint. This is annoying, but more importantly as in problem 1, users can then edit the document properties which are posted back to SP.
We tried making the templates available with user rights set to Viewing or Download levels (which were the read levels), but had to move up to Contribute (edit) to get it to work. Help is much appreciated!

The result of gpresult is very interesting since I have found this:
That GPO called Default domain policy is doing exactly the contrary than my actual GPO. So I removed the settings seen here so the good GPO called standard user printer install
can work. The thing is that even with GPupdate those settings never changes! I've recheck the Default Domain GPO and the old settings are gone since yesterday. For a reason unknown, it always stay on my computer.
Do you know why?

Can't open Microsoft Word document through SharePoint

Since upgrading to Firefox 35, I am no longer able to open Microsoft Word files through SharePoint. When I select "Edit in Microsoft Word," I get the error message "No connectivity with the server. [FILENAME] can't be opened because the server couldn't be contacted."
Note that this is specific to my Mac. I can open Word files on SharePoint when I use my VMWare Windows simulator.
Any suggestions for a fix?

Hello, I have a very strange behavior of the WCF dotnet application hosted in SharePoint server. When I run the application on SharePoint server by accessing
http://SPSServer/_layouts/WCFCustApp loads correctly and executs all functionalities. However from the client machine when I access the same application, it throws below error:

Both I verified and none of those helped to resolve the issue. Will you please let me know if anyone else has encountered this problem?
I have noticed the WCF project has one web.config and it does not take from it when the application is deployed to SharePoint site collection. I made sure the sharepoint web.config file has all tcpip and other web service configurations. It works great on the
server and just failed to run from client machine :(

Meeting request in SharePoint calendar from Outlook 2010

Hi,
I've connected a SharePoint calendar to my Outlook 2010 client and wish to manage this calendar from within Outlook 2010 itself. When I try to request a new meeting in this calendar from Outlook, I am able to do everything as normal, but when the meeting
request is synchronised, it comes up with the following error:
I can see the item in the Local Failures folder but it does get sync'd soon after and appears in the SharePoint calendar list on the SharePoint site itself. However, when viewing the item in Outlook, it is an appointment, not a meeting.
I've seen this article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926440. Does this mean you can't create meeting requests in SharePoint calendars?
Can anyone shed some light on what is possible and what isn't? I don't want to have to create a meeting workspace for every meeting required.

Cannot remove non-connected host through webtool

Using OSB 10.3.0.2.0
I am unable to use the webtool to remove an unconnected host.
In the webtool I go to Configure -> Hosts, I highlight the host name I want to remove, select the box for Suppress communication with host, and click remove. I choose Yes for the question "Are you sure you want to remove 'hostname'" and receive the error
Error: can't connect to OB host ausperf20 - No route to host
Obviously selecting "Suppress communication with host" should allow this to work.
Removing the host through the command line still works
obtool rmhost --nocomm hostname
Is this a known bug in the webtool?

Yep there is a bug here, looks like the webtool isn't sending the nocomm option, just the nq
The problem is in 10.3.0.3.0 too.
Internal Bug # 10199325 has been passed to the OSB development team for this issue.
