Meeting Place Express 2.1.1 CLI Username/Password

Hi All,
I have installed MPE 2.1.1 on VMWare as a linux based application.
After complete installation, when the CLI appears, I am unable to login into it.
During installation of OS, it does not asked me any username/password for this.
When I was configuring system on VMWare, it asked me username and password, and said that same password will be used for root user.
but nothing is working now.
I have tried same password for both, root and mpxadmin also admin/cisco.

If that doesnt work, you will need to open a TAC case and TAC will send you a password recovery .iso file to burn on a CD/DVD.

Meeting Place Express 2.1.1.2 Web Access Issue

Hello all,
I'am having an issue with a Meeting Place Express 2.1.1.2 server. There was a power failure and now we can still access the server via dial-in but the web acess is not working. From the CLI i run the mpx_sys status command and it says webservices is active. The server has been restarted. When I check the errorlog I see "unable to connect to webservices, trying again" Anyone know what the issue might be? Thanks

Cisco Meeting Place Express 2.1.1.2 and not working anymore

Hello, we currently have cisco meeting place express 2.1.1.2; however are now having issues with it. We are unable to dial to the internal extension that was previously working to login to the meetings and only get a busy signal everytime. Furthermore, whenever someone tries to schedule a new meeting via the web form, it says "request to server timed out. please try again".
I tried reaching out to Cisco TAC support; however it's no longer a supported item and am looking for assistance here. The TAC engineer was able to help assist with updating the system clock; however I believe the problems started happening after we updated the clock and rebooted the server. Now we are unable to schedule and attend any meetings (busy signal everytime) at all. I tried restarting the server itself as well as via the command line. I also now see an error during CLI restart, which I have listed directly below:

I have a problem with Cisco Meeting Place Express and Exchange Server synchronizing.

When I type the button test, I receive “Authentication error. Check the authenticated access to the Exchange Server for Microsoft NTLM authentication scheme.”
My Exchange Server is synchronized with MS Active Directory. As far as I know, Kerberous is used for authentication. So, how can I enable NTLM authentication scheme on AD? Are there any other options for Cisco MPE and Exchange synchronization?

I have corrected domain name in configuration after your advice. Cisco MPE Exchange Configuration is working very well now. I’m able to start a meeting from the outlook calendar and send messages to meeting participants.

Thanks for your attention for my humble problem.
I have performed Meeting Place Express configuration through the “net” command.
But now unfortunately I can't connect to meeting place through web browser. I just get blank page.
Though I can reach the server with help of ssh. I think my DNS works properly because I can resolve the ip address of cumpxvoice .uclab.com and cumpxweb. uclab.com with help of dig command.
Have you any idea?

Meeting place express and Windows 7 compatibility

I wonder if someone already tried to use Meeting place Express 2.0 with clients that are using Windows 7 OS? If so I wonder if there are some compatibility issues?

At least with the 2.1.1.2 hotfix 36 version (last and highly recommended patch) of the product the Outlook plugin appears to work with Windows 7 32bit and Office 2007. It's getting increasingly touchy as Microsoft patches things and totally bombs in Office 2010 if you have the 64bit version.
The Adobe Breeze interface seems to function without issue, even in the 64bit OS.

Meeting place express email notification not working

Hi,
Facing issue with meeting place express email notification.
The SMTP e-mail exchanger rejected a recipient's e-mail address as unknown.
is the error message i get.
Ping status is fine, on firewall ports are opened as any any.
As per the exchange administrator, there is no request coming to the exchange from meeting place.
Any help is appreciated.

I assume this is an existing system that has been working as MPE has not been sold in a long time. Was this working in the pass and just stopped working? When are you seeing this error and does it happen for all users?
Has the logon changed that MP uses to access the SMTP server? If the password changed on the SMTP server and was not updated on MP this will happen.

My understanding is :- Internal WebEx node cannot be installed as a standalone without Webex Cloud Node.

Also, this is not the correct channel for sales/BoM assistance. You need to work with Cisco Presales assistance and/or your Cisco AM if you require assistance on that front.

Meeting Place

1.my understanding is that if you want to have a videoconference of 3 or more parties, you need an MCU, such as a 3515.
2.Can you not just use meeting place express or meeting place express VT ? as opposed to having to use an high value piece of hardware such as MCU.
3. or is it that an MCU has meeting place built in so you wouldn't need an mcs server with meeting place express installed.
In short I want to do videoconferences with 10 participants but at an effective cost. I do not need to do over ISDN. but will need to do over 2 mpls sites.
can anyone recommend a good cisco solution?

Mpe requires the MP web server for native end user scheduling using a website. It also provides a cut down webex feel and you can share desktop applications etc.
Outlook plugin and dial in is your only option with MPE other than giving people full access to the admin scheduling website which allows them to cancel other people's meetings.

Unable to luanch meeting room(Meeting place 2.x)

I having some issue with meeting place Web meeting .
Whenever i join the web meeting room , i am getting the below error
System ERROR:
The meeting Room Couldn't connect to the cisco unified meeting place server, please re-launch the meeting room or refresh your browser to restore the connection
Note:
I- installed the proper Flash player, presenter adds on software
2- Browser TEST worked fine
3- I dont see any firewall rule blocking the connection
I will really appreciate your help on this issue.

I got solution for this issue.
There are two IP address for Meeting place express .
one for audio and meeting place access.
second ip is used for Web trafic .In my scenario i havn't done any DNS configuration for
my second IP.After the proper DNS change it statred working .

Meeeting Place Express and Tandberg Video Conferencing

I have been tasked with intergrating an existing Tandberg 880 and Tandberg 880 MXP with Meeting Place Express 2.x. I am unable to get video from or to the Tandberg cameras when participating in a Meeting Place Express meeting. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong please let me know. I have the 2 cameras set up as H.323 devices in CCM.

Dial the endpoint using it's IP. Or, if you have a Gatekeeper and Gateway, than you may understand that an alias E.164 may be needed. If so dial the unit by it's alias, which is usually the last 4 digits of it's ISDN#.
If the above is done and still issue's than a dialing digit may need to be used, for an example: We use 8 for tele calls and 9 for video calls. This is in the H323 Services in the Gateway configuration.

Meeting Place WebEx 8.0 reservationless audio meeting ID issue

We have just converted from Meeting Place Express 2.x to Meeting Place WebEx 8.0 with Type II scheduling. Since this configuration is reservationless, the audio meeting ID is the user's extension by default and it appears there is no way to change the system from always using the same audio meeting ID for the same user. Our issue is that we have many executive admins who book multiple meetings (sometimes overlapping, sometimes back-to-back) and are now having issues. Since the meetings all share the same audio ID, the meetings are stepping on top of one another. Is there some way to allow the users to change the audio ID per meeting or have the system generate an ID for the audio meeting to prevent this issue?

Hi Saurabh,
MCS7835-I3 is supported by MeetingPlace 8.5 for Audio Only solution. You will need to perform the firmware upgrade before installing 8.5, but all that is documented in the installation documentation.
Keep in mind that from MP8.0 to MP8.5, you are transitioning via migration and not via upgrade. This will require taking migration files from MP8.0 server, performing a firmware update, doing a clean installation of MP8.5 and then restoring from migration files.
In order to obtain MP8.5 installation DVD, you have to purchase the MP8.5 upgrade that is usually included in UCSS/ESW contract. If that expired, you will have to consult with your Cisco Account Team on what is the best way to proceed.
Finally, in MP8.0 licensing is port based, while in MP8.5 licensing is host based. Hence, you will need to do a license conversion after migration is completed. Licensing TAC can help you with that.
