Meeting Request Default Behavior

Hi,
I am not sure that this is a issue or default behavior of meeting request in outlook, please suggest the best one.
"When a Meeting attendee FWDs a message to another attendee of the same meeting and that attendee replies, the reply comes from the meeting originator not the attendee that FWD the message."
Regards Sunny Chauhan

Hi,
Agreed. For the meeting request forward, it is by default that the user who forwards the meeting request is only on behalf of the organizer.
When the meeting request is forwarded, the meeting organizer will receive a Meeting Forward Notification mail from the user forwarding the meeting request at the same time.
Best regards,
Belinda

  • How do I fix meeting requests/invitations default to ms outlook calendar and do not show up on iCloud calendar?

This is frustrating and seems to be a known issue. Regular calendar items work fine but any meeting invitations sent to and accepted on PC running Outlook 2010 with iCloud add in only show up on default (local) calendar. Must add them manually. Also meeting requests sent from same PC configuration are being hijacked by iCal/iCloud feature and prompt the receiver to accept through iCloud interface rather than a regular Outlook email invite, though those meeting do show up on end user's Outlook calendar. And meeting requests sent to a group gives an STMP error. Is there an update or newer version that fixes any of these issues?  I turned off MobileMe add in but doesn't help. We use iCloud and like it because we need the calendar and contact features to sync between the PC and iPhone and iPad, which works fine.

Outlook will not allow a subscribed calendar to be the default, unless it is an Exchange calendar. You can't change this behaviour unfortunately.

  • Meeting Place 8- Ports default behavior

    Hi,
In MP8 when I schedule a meeting with 5 audio ports, how can I restrict this meeting to use only 5 ports and not more than that, considering some ports are not reserved in any meeting.
I also wish to know the default behavior of ports in MP8. Is it available on docwiki ?
    Thanks
    spvaidya

    Hello
The MP8 system uses Audio Floater ports and Overbook ports to allocate extra/unexpected users in meetings.
If you set these values to 0, you will configure the system to not allow extra users in the meeting once you have reached the max. number of ports allocated for that meeting.
    Audio floater ports
Applies to scheduled meeting resource allocation  only. Number of voice ports that  are reserved as floater ports. You use floater ports for any scheduled  meeting to  accommodate unanticipated additional participants. Configuring voice  floater  ports reduces the number of ports that are available for scheduling  meetings. Voice floater ports are also used by meeting recordings. See Audio  and Video  Recording Resources and Port Usage. Restrictions:
This number cannot  exceed the value of the Audio  licensed ports field. Changing the  licenses might affect the upper and lower limits for this  parameter.
For recommendations for determining the number of floater ports, see the   Planning Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/
    products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/products_implementation_design_guides_list.html. Default: 2
    Audio overbook ports
Applies to scheduled meeting resource allocation  only. Number of voice ports to  allow for scheduled meetings that exceed the number of available voice  ports on  the system. Configuring voice overbook ports increases the risk of users  being  unable to attend scheduled meetings. If you use this feature, you assume that users who are scheduled to  attend meetings  do not always attend, leaving their reserved voice ports unused. Once  all voice  ports are in use, other users who try to attend a voice meeting will not  be able to  get through. Restrictions:
This number cannot  exceed twice the value of the Audio  licensed ports field. Changing the  licenses might affect the upper and lower limits for this  parameter.
For recommendations for determining the number of overbook ports, see  the  Planning Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/

  • Cannot view the detailed Email date and time about the meeting request

Hi,I am unable to view the detailed message and Date and time of a meeting request in the default Email app in my Sony Xperia P mobile. Even when i select the calender it does not defaultly go to the meeting date. I need to manually select the date to see the meeting. I cannot see the meeting details without accepting it.I have seen the better behaviors on HTC One V and Galaxy Nexus where full meeting details including message, Date, time, venue appears in the meeting request message. Is there any setting which needs to be changes or is it the limitation of the phone app.Regards,Pratik Ranjan

Hi Johan,Im also seeing this on my xperia s, ICS.  Here's some additional info i have after some testing:Work have Exchange 2010, I have sent calendar invites from outlook 2007 and 2010 clients and it works for the 2007 clients as it automatically adds the meeting details into the body of the request, something it doesn’t do in 2010, so it may be the way the calendar form has changed in 2010.   It also works fine when i get an invite from an external person. This however is just adding the text into the body, I too have tested with the HTC One S and Samsung Galxay S3, bith use the stock email and both display the time as part ofthe invite no tin the body of the invite,
In doing the testing I have also found another issue. I have found that it doesn’t inform you of a calendar conflict.ThanksMike

I'm afraid to tell you that there is no fix, Outlook will place 'accepted' events on its default calendar, which will be the Exchange calendar (if connected to an Exchange Server) or the local (Personal Folders) calendar. No subscribed calendar may be the default. To make it worse, this behavior also applies to Contacts, if you accept a vCard it will be placed in the local folder, not iCloud's folder.
Tell Microsoft how much you dislike this 'feature'

  • Error when other people send me a meeting request

    Dear Microsoft,
When other people send me a meeting request, they get the error you can see below (it says: "Your message can not be delivered to the following
people or distribution lists"). The strange thing is that I receive as well the meeting request and I can accept it. However, it is confusing for the people who send me the request, so can you help me to fix te problem?
I use Outlook 2010, but I had also this problem with an older version. I have not had this problem always. The problem started when I authorized a colleague
to look in my calendar (but, if I cancel the authorization it doesn't help, so I really don't understand what is going wrong!).
I really hope you know a solution of this problem.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Dineke,
You can contact your Exchange administrator to run the following command to check it:
Get-Mailbox –Identity yourname | Select Name, HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled
Or you can view your colleague’s Default Global Address List in OWA to check whether you are listed there or not.
Please check whether there is any transport rule or Outlook rule setting in your mailbox. Also change a new computer and create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

  • Missing information when an Outlook user cancel a meeting request

    Hi all,
Pardon the cross-posting but I put this question up in the iCal discussion group and didn't get any responses. There seam to be a lot of iCal ics and Mail integration discussion here so I thougt I'd try my luck.
I've just switched over from Entourage to Mail and a client sent me a meeting request. iCal picked it up OK and I was able to see the meeting details, with comments, and respond through iCal.
Today the meeting got cancelled. iCal pick up the meeting cancellation from Mail and deleted the calendar event. However, there was a lot of other information in the meeting cancellation request file. My client had suggested other times and asked for responses. The only way I could see this information was by saving the ics file to disk and opening it in TextEdit.
Is there any way to get iCal to display the full contents of a cancelled meeting request rather than simply deleting the event?
    Thanks,
    Nigel

  • Exch2010 Room Mailboxes - disable unautherized users to create Meeting Request

    Hi all,
This one is giving me a headache. I have created some Room Mailboxes which I all want to act the same, which is as followed:
    - Everyone (we have mailgroup with all users) has review rights
    - Certain users have editor rights
    - Resource Booking Attendant is disabled
Basically I want to configure these in a similar way as the old fashioned Public Folders.
I've tried a lot of settings / methods, currently I did as followed:
    - Within Exchange 2010 EMC I created a Room Mailbox
    - I gave myself Full Access rights
    - Mailbox is automatically added to my Outlook 2013
    - I right-click the calendar and go to properties. I set Default and Anonymous to no rights. I add a mailgroup with all our users and set that to review (so no creation of items / folders)
I would now expect that no users except for myself / administrator are allowed to make an appointment: WRONG. But a strange wrong this is:
    - If I use Outlook 2003, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook 2013, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Exchange webmail (OWA), I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook for Mac, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook 2010, I can suddenly simply create a Meeting Request. This then sends a mail to the Room Mailbox and adds an appointment as tentative
All of the above is done with the same useraccount.
So what's up with this? I simply want to disable this tentative stuff altogether. I only want people with editor rights to create and change meetings, all the other folks should simply be reviewers unable to create anything whatsoever. Hopefully anyone here
has the solution for me, thanks a lot for your time / help.
    All the best, Jim.

    Thanks for your reply.
Here is the output when checking the permissions (see below).
I replaced the usernames by something anonymous.
    So basically it comes to:
    Default has no rights.
    Anonymous has no rights.
Two mailgroups which contain all employees have review rights.
    Five users have editor rights.
Still 'regular users' (which should only have review rights) can still doubleclick this calendar (only works in Office 2010) and create a new Meeting Request.
    How come this is possible?

  • Outlook 2010 - Exchange 2013 - Meeting request "from" field

We have a shared mailbox that the company uses, each user has full access to the mailbox, within this mailbox is a calendar. If person A creates a meeting in this calendar and invites person B, when person B accepts the acceptance goes to the inbox of the
shared mailbox, not the inbox of the user who invited them. Is there a way I can use a "from" field in meeting requests" so acceptances go to the invitee?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
This is the expected behavior of Outlook according to your conditions, and there is no option available to change it.
As a workaround, we can create a meeting in the user's own calendar, and then add the shared mailbox as an attendee of the meeting. In this way, the meeting will show in the shared calendar and the meeting responses will be sent to the meeting creator's
    mailbox.

  • Is it possible to make in : Join by phone to online meeting request that the number is shown as hiperlink in outlook??

is it possible to make in : Join by phone tin online meeting request that the number is shown as hiperlink in outlook 2010??
when i send the invitation for example to gmail user I can see it on my phone. but if I would like to call directly from the outlook request I have to copy and paste the number , it is not hiperlinked....
    help
    any suggestions???

Mine works with the tel URL syntax already in there.
A couple of thoughts, if that's not working for you you could make your own hyperlink to look something like this:
    <a href=tel:+556666888888>Join Via Phone</a>
I've seen callto: work as well.
Which you might be able to append into the default meeting invite:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398638.aspx
The other thought is to check out Matt's select dial:
http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Lync-Copy-Dial-Just-Select-3c426244 which would allow you to highlight any number and hit a hotkey to call.

Is this this fixed for anyone else?
Also did anyone else get a an update after install 013.016    apps update?

I can confirm The meeting requests to email are working    (I tested it on a MS hotmail account not exchange at first )  So if you want to be able to  accept or denny emailed meeting requests you need  Microsoft EXCHANGE   set up.     Note: you can get free  exchange via  hotmail now.
Not sure if the exchange contacts sync (via hotmail exchange) is fixed a know i and others had problems where it was syncing all contacts  (this maybe a hotmail issue)
Looking forward to next update where i hope they improve the N8 Browser

    * doesn't work on some html java links this needs fixing.
    * some sites you can't hit "return"  to complete info there is no return button!!

  • Outlook 2010 People Pane not displaying all Accepted, Tentative, Declined, or Not Responding, for meeting requests.

I have a user that sends out a local employee meeting request, so it goes out to about 100 people.  She then tracks the responses by opening the event in her calendar, and looking at the information in the people pane.  But this only shows her
59 responses.  I was having her copy the tracking to a clipboard, then pasting it into an excel sheet.  Then she could sort it to see who isn't going, or hasn't responded.  but that also only populates 59 people.  We use exchange server,
    and she's running exchange 2010.
I'd appreciate any help, or suggestions.
    thanks,

    Hi Jeff,
How many people can you see if we open the meeting and view the tracking information from OWA?
Are the missing people external meeting attendees? By default, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is not configured to process external meeting requests or meeting responses. Your mailbox has to be configured to process external meeting requests and meeting
    responses.

Please let me know what should I do?
I have set the account as default what should be my next step?

    Hi,
Please try the following points to narrow down the issue:
    1. Please check whether the default Calendar folder is checked when you created the meeting request and sent it out.
    2. Please check whether there is any shared calendar opened in your Outlook and the meeting request is created on behalf of the shared calendar instead of your own calendar.
    3. Create a new Outlook profile and create a test meeting request to have a try.

  • Disappearing Notes in Meeting Requests with Room Mailboxes

We are running Exchange 2010 SP3. We observe this behavior with both Outlook 2010 and 2013.
When a user creates a new meeting request for a moderated room, the notes only show up on the organizers request (in their Outlook calendar pending), but the delegate cannot view the notes. There is information contained in the notes that will aid the delegate
in approving or denying the meeting request in the various Rooms.
How can I make it so that the Notes in the Meeting Request are viewable by the delegate?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Do you mean you want to set a delegate for room mailbox for meeting request approving? If it is, we can run the following command in Exchange server to achieve it:
    Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity "Room222" -ResourceDelegates
