MEGA 180 Users - new nForce drivers available!

version 5.10 of the nForce drivers are available from nvidia
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
the audio drivers have had a "fix" it would seem

nForce driver set v5.1 did not make any visible harm to my Mega180.
The strange thing though is that VGA driver version did not change after the installation, and I am now 3 levels behind from what MSI offers via Live Update...

  • Installing new Nforce drivers?

I'm running the lastest Nforce driver pak from MSI on my K7N420. When the new Nforce drivers from Nvidia come out (Soon I hope) should I be able to install them over the MSI Nforce drivers I'm running now? If not, could someone please tell me an easy way to uninstall old Nforce drivers, MSI or Nvidia.
    Thanks
    Dennis

Thanks for the reply. One more quick queston. I'm running an Gf4 add in card so removing the Nvidia display drivers in Add/Remove does the video drivers, I know this one. What listing in Add/Remove removes the Nforce drivers?
    Thanks
    Dennis

So the answer is that it's newer compared to MSI 5.01 pack and Nvidia 4.27 pack.
    Agp/gart version 3.77 in MSI 5.01 driverpack and in nvidia's 4.27 driverpack .
    And agp/gart version 4.36 in nvidia's 5.10 driverpack .
Basically there is nothing new in the Gart department that has not already been out, none of the above solve the punkbuster freezing problem with the K8N Neo Plat. mobo. Neither does the following Gart below which is newer then all of the above:

As far as Im aware that is the newest Gart driver available (please correct me if Im wrong), and its dated flipping April!!! Its Flipping September!!! still we have this problem, I wish nvidia would release something a bit more upto date.

  • Alcahol 120 percent and new nforce drivers

    http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34891
latest version told me with new nvidia drivers i had no burner
so im using an older one
well this seems to be the fix
Making it work with the updated IDE drivers is easy, in options change the 'Device Control Interface' from default to the other one. Restart Alcohol 120% and all your devices should be listed.
might save some one a headache

Concerning the IDE driver. Same as all the other versions Nvidia has released for me. Complete junk. Also, it appears they removed the file. The links to it are dead or redirected to the 4.12's...which are also junk.
    1. Breaks my Sound Card. System hangs on audio driver install then will no longer boot, except to Safe Mode to remove the driver, due to nForce gameport incompatibility. Standard IDE does not hang, then Gameport can just be disabled (since the nForce2 chip breaks it anyway).
    2. Breaks Easy Recovery Pro (data recovery software) and who knows what else. When it attempts to scan the drives, it fails with a Windows error. Standard IDE driver works fine.
    3. SiSoft Sandra reports slower speeds than standard IDE driver.
    Standard score 35247 kB/s
    Nvidia score 30124 kB/s

  • Introduction Mega 180 user

    Hello everyone,
I recently bought the Mega 180 and stumbled upon this forum. Having read most topics about the Mega 180, I thought registering could be beneficial.  I consider myself an advanced user in the Windows environment (including Office and Wireless Networking) although systems can sometimes still surprise me.
I'm still in the process of configuring my Mega 180, but so far so good. I hope the VideoMate option to boot, record TV and shutdown the PC as scheduled will work.
    Greetings,
    Jadi.

    Jadi.
Jadi---What are you speaking of-----I don't have anything called Video/Mate included with my Mega 180----and while you can schedule recordings----the PC has to be on----there is no way to set a schedule for it to boot up on it's own ----at the correct time----and start recording.  Is it some type of additional device??----can you give me a link??
    Thanks-----John

  • Tip: New Epson drivers available at sg site

New Epson drivers are available at the Singapore site. I tried the driver for my Stylus Pro 3850 and I was able to add the printer to my printer list using Bonjour rather than the specific IP method previously necessary with Leopard. The driver will support all variants of the 3800/3850.
The U.S. site currently only provides public beta drivers for Leopard. I'm not sure if the Singapore and U.S. drivers are the same.
Of note, the U.S. site specifically states that the new beta drivers support Leopard's 16-bit printing.

Linda, when I install a new print driver, I go the extra mile. I guess I'm paranoid but here's what I do.
I use the new installer to Uninstall the existing driver.
I use the new installer to Install the driver.
in Print & Fax preferences, I control-click on the Printers list and choose Reset Printing System.
I re-add my printer to the Printers list.
btw, I'm using Leopard on an Intel iMac.
and Bill is right. the drivers on the Singapore site for the R1800 are not new: Date Posted : 2006-04-25. if you're having problems printing under Leopard, you will probably have to wait a while longer.

    Gregory

  • Mega 180 - WLAN and modem drivers

    Hi all.
I have a corrupt cd for my Mega 180 and I'm desperately in need of the drivers for WLAN mini pci-card and modem. I've dl'ed drivers and software from MSI-site but XP Pro won't recognize these two...

Found the solution in another thread...

  • Mega 180 BIOS v.3.30 available

If you need the 3.30 bios for the Mega 180, PM or email me.
Like many here, Live Update reverted back to an older beta.  But thanks to my retailer and their floor model, was able to backup the 3.30 and successfully revert to the stock config.

    You bet!
I got tired of the constant noise from the 60mm Delta and replaced it with a Papst (german fan) last weekend! The Papst is claiming around 18dB so it's a whisper compared to my stock fan
Couldn't get hold of a Zalman around here. Don't even know if they've got a 60x60x15mm, since that is the only size that will fit...
While I was diggin' around in there I also followed John's advice about optimizing the airflow by securing the cables out of the way, and all-in-all I lowered my idle CPU-temps by 2-3 degrees to 38-39C. Since that wasn't the primary objective it's an added bonus!
    Negative's then:
Well, although the new fan is quiet and manages to move around enough air on idle, it doesn't cope as well with a stressed CPU. Temps are not alarmingly high - around 49-50C, but that's a 4-5 degrees increase under load.
The smaller CPU-fan is still as quiet as before, and still running at 3200rpm, so it's not a real problem (yet). (I know you would kill for these temps, sav_, but I just use the onboard graphics and shouldn't run any hotter...)
My problem's don't end there though, since replacing the fan actually didn't help that awfully much with the sound-issue!   I still have this high-pitched, vibrating, most irritating sound in the Mega, and it is most likely the PSU's fault. Which is a bummer, since tampering with the PSU means I void my warranty...   (Does anybody happen to know what kind of fan that sits in the PSU?)
Well, the bottom line of my experiences are that you probably need larger fans to successfully both cool the Mega and keep the noiselevel down. If your stock fans are quiet (which obviously some are) you don't gain much from replacing them. Silent 80mm fans elsewhere in the case could do the trick, but I leave that to someone else to try for now... (Actually think not_pleased put a 92mm fan inside the case, dunno if it helped though...?)
    Cheers!

  • New nForce drivers next week!

According to a German source (with an interview with nVidia), new drivers are supposed to be released next week.
A knowledgeable individual @ NForcer's HQ, who claims to have some inside info on this, says that we will be very pleased with the update(s).
I predict that it's true on both counts. nVidia is in too precarious of a position to let their current client base down if it wants to stay ahead of the competition and stay ahead of AMD MB rivals as they maintain their dominant chipset share.

Well, of course... just like the 2.42 set was going to cure everyone's ills. I sense an opportunity for another round of complaints     ... just kidding... you can always hope.

No problem. Actually this brings up a good point - does your
    JSQR have a
way to identify what version a function is available from? In
    1.6 there are
7 new functions (listed below), but there is also E4X
    support. I don't think
your JSQR will really deal with that will it? It's more a
    syntactical
thing. Anyway, there are more new things in JS 1.7 - once
    this is final I'll
put a compiled list of those up, for a preview, check out
    http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/New_in_JavaScript_1.7
    JavaScript 1.6 - New Functions
There are seven new Array methods that can be separated into
    two categories,
item location methods and iterative methods. The item
    location methods are:
a.. indexOf() - returns the index of the given item's first
    occurrence.
b.. lastIndexOf() - returns the index of the given item's
    last occurrence.
    The iterative methods are:
a.. every() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns true
if the function returns true for every item.
b.. filter() - runs a function on every item in the array
    and returns an
array of all items for which the function returns true.
c.. forEach() - runs a function on every item in the array.
d.. map() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns the
    results in an array.
e.. some() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns true
if the function returns true for any item.

  • New Canon drivers available on UK site, but not in the US site?

Just got a new MP970, and was looking for downloadable drivers on the US site, and found nothing. But heading to the UK site I found the MP Navigator, drivers for the MP970 and more. I'm not sure why but if anyone needs Canon drivers, check out the UK site.

Canon USA is notorious for poor customer support in the area of drivers, especially for the Mac. I have owned a Canon iPF5000 for just about a year now and have found it necessary to get my drivers from Canon Europe, Canon Canada and Canon Japan.

  • New OKI drivers available - C310 C510 works on C5150

OKI Color printers - such as my C5150 - require GDI drivers. Calling Oki customer support in the US informed me that they were not available yet. But there are - I downloaded and installed them and they work.
The Page is for the C310 and C510 - but they work fine on my C5150.

    Ok I figured it out.
The very crucial part you left out is that you have to have the OLDER OS X drivers installed as well as the LION one.
So to have this work you have to:
    Install this driver:
    1) http://bosnia.oki.com/support/printer/printer-drivers/detail.aspx?prodid=tcm:151 -107685&driverid=tcm:151-112616-16
    AND this driver
    2) http://bosnia.oki.com/support/printer/printer-drivers/detail.aspx?prodid=tcm:151 -107685&driverid=tcm:151-129530-16
And when you add the printer...
    CHOOSE: OKI USB (Hiper-C).
    Then:
    1) Under "Choose a Driver or Printer Model", select "Other"
    2) Navigate to Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources
    3) Choose OKI C510
    4) Click Add
And it WORKS! Thanks for the heads up.

  • New nforce drivers ide and audio

Nvidia has released version 1.08.5 of its System Utility on 31 March 2004 and can be downloaded here:- http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility_1.08.5.html
Windows XP/2K Audio driver package 4.31 can also be downloaded here:- http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_audio_4.31_win2KXP
and Windows XP/2K IDE driver package version 4.12 can be downloaded here:- http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce...15_win2KXP.html
