i change back ... but motherboard still in death ...
HiFi mode working fine ... PC mode - no beep no post no ... reset and power buton working fine ...
i make bios reset ... nothing change ...
why ?? it's not imposible to change this wireless adapter ??? (I need 802.11g standart)

2) I beg to differ. The Mega 865 is still just a pc, and in my opinion a pc is upgradeable if the sitiation calls for it. What you are saying here is after I've put a pc together I cannot change it anymore, because of the possible problems I might have because of the change, and the risk of such a problem forces me to buy a new pc instead. And in this case the reason is quite clear to me, there is a huge benefit of using 54Mbps nic compared to a 11 Mbps one. I
I must agree with you that as far as pc's are concerned any change will most likely lead to some kind of unwanted behaviour, but thats just a fact of life. I personally learned to accept it, and keep the faith in the fact that a solution is always nearby. And luckely in the last couple of years the information sharing and communication between individual persons has increased dramaticely and therefor the chances of finding a solution, to any problem for that matter, has increased significantly as compared to say 10-15 years ago. Do not get met started on problems I had with pc's back then ....
It is sad however to see that apperantly manufactorers seem to push products to the markets before they are fully tested and meet the public expectations. I have a DVD player, which is one of the first of its kind. It connects to my LAN and the internet and it can play allmost any format (divx/xvid ... etc) it even has a harddisk, and you can browse internet pages which use a certain custom format. Out of the box the harddisk did not work properly, it took 3 firmware versions to get that working. And there are numerous other issues with it, its just plainly a product only half-way done. The strange part is that even though I have problems with it I still like the device, would I buy it again ? yes I would.
What is wrong with me ?

facetime stopped working on mad. says "failed". works fine on phone and new mini. tried all the troubleshooting, added a unique email to the mac facetime, nothing seems to work. just keeps saying "facetime failed". any ideas???
I Got the same problem. When you change the output to internal speakers again facetime works again in the mac.
I think it may be some kind of incompatibility with the current driver. I used in the past the old tascam Us-122 and worked well but its driver don't work more for the mountain lion system so i bought this newest one.
When i used the old one I could use the volume keys on the mac keyboard to control output volume; now with the us-322 when hearing music you can control volume just from the tascam. -
Direct comparison old and new mini into tv
Hi all. I notice a slew of threads berating the display quality of the mini and I want to put my chime in.
I have a 1.6 core duo mini and I replaced it Saturday with a new one.
I have a 32 in LCD in the living room, the old one was hooked up with a dvi to hdmi lead and the new one is the same except there is the mini dvi to dvi adaptor in the way.
The old mini displayed fine I noticed no gradient issues etc. With the new mini any gradients cause large chunks of banding as if there were only 256 colours and I have to say I am not very impressed.
I suppose what I am asking is, is there anything I can do, but I rather fancy I know the answer.
The LCD is being run in its native res and the two mins were/are doing identical duties. But the long and short is the old mini displayed much better on my TV.My new Mac Mini works perfect in 1080p 1920x1080 mode on my 42" and 47" 1080p HDTVs using a DVI-HDMI cable with the included mini dvi-dvi adapter.

I just got a new Mini Mac (intel) and want to upload my iPod to my new computer, the old one died:-( what's a easy (if there is) way? of course with i tunes.
thanksDo you mean as in copying all of your music off of your iPod and onto the Mini? You'll need to buy special software to do that I think. Haven't had any experience myself (yet), but that's my understanding of it. Either that or you could try turning on disc mode and drag and drop your files that way, but again, haven't personally tried it (yet).

The Time Machine in my old Mini and new Mini is different
In my earlier Mac Mini, I could use the internal drive for the backup, which was great. However, when I setup the Time Machine for the new Mini, it insists on me setting up an external drive. So I can't use the internal drive for backups any more?

SteveTo clarify, this all happened under Snow Leopard as I had said. My profile lists Tiger, since I haven't cared to update my personal profile since using that OS, and in fact I still use Tiger among other versions. I manage a lot of users. And I never got to upgrade to Mountain Lion on this system, as explained in the post above. So I don't see the confusion.
I don't think the model of Mac makes a difference for this type of problem, but in case it does, the incident was on a 2010 Intel iMac with a 4TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. I would have mentioned that if this was a problem with hardware specific to the model of Mac. But this is more of a universal issue.
But to stay on topic, I'm guessing my old backups are toast. But if anybody has any experience with recovering from Time Machine deleting their old backups, I would be happy to hear from them. In the meantime, I am going to try to do some old fashioned file recovery, and see what I can salvage. -
I have done a complete fire wire transfer before but I don't want to do that. I only want to transfer certain files and leave the existing and new minis in tact otherwise. I am sure I can transfer just files. My question mostly is: I only have one monitor but will have two minis that are hooked up. Can this be done without seeing the other computer contents? I hope that makes sense. The existing mini is 10.5.8 and the new one is 10.6.
You can start one mac up in target disk mode, get file sharing set up and then disconnect the monitor. Monitor ports are very tolerant of connecting and disconnecting with the computer on.
Switch the monitor to the other computer. Start up, connect the firewire cable (after the computer has booted) and set up file sharing on that computer. You can see the other computer's contents without controlling the other computer's mouse and/or keyboard.
If the other computer's hard drive does not automatically show up, go to network settings and verify those settings as well. That should not be necessary but ethernet would give you a second option for file transfers.

New Mini 2010 tells "no cabel connected to ethernetport"
Hi Folks,
two days ago I bought a new Mini 2,4 HDMI (not Server!). I cloned my old 10.6.4 SL Server to that new Mini and tried to connect to my network. Nothing happend - prefs told me "no cable conneced to ethernet port". I checkt everything - cable workes fine on my old Mini. After that I than reinstalled from the original System DVD of the new mini to ckeck if ethernetport workes - and it did!!!!
So the mini hardware is working fine and is no DOA.
After recloning my SL Server - same again - "no cabel connected to ethernetport" - T triwed all kinds of reset: PMReset, PRReset a.s.o
can anyone help me - it makes not a lot of fun to work the server only eith Airport

*please help me!!!*I have the exact same problem. I cloned the OS disk of my previous mac mini (also with 10.6.4) and the ethernet cable shows as not connect. If I boot from the original Snow Leopard Server that came with the new mac mini, the ethernet cable shows as connected, and everything works. (I also have tried replugging / changing the ehternet cables)
If I compare the .kext from /System/Library/Extensions between the old and new mini, I see that some files are different. Maybe the old mini is missing the drivers needed to work with the new hardware ?
I tried copying kext files, and hosed the system in the process -
I have an existing mini mac and 4 tb external drive.
My iTunes library exists on the external drive under /itunes...
I have purchased a new mini mac and I want to leave the library where it is on the external drive but move to new mini mac and have it show as it did on the old mini mac..
what do i need to do ?
I have found multitude of articles about moving itunes to external drive or other similar things but I don't want to move itunes from the external drive, just change mini mac machines and have everything in itunes the same..

Do I need to copy anything over from the old mac mini ? xml files ? .. the itunes folder on old mini is about 840mb in size which looks to have artwork ect ? .. I am fairly computer literate, but this one has me stumped.. ?

Do you know if I can have all devices associated to my single apple ID and still use both numbers without messing up my profile. It has just changed my number over.I would not be able to give you idiot proof guide, since different games are different. Some of them have icloud integrated already, but those already taken care of. Some of them use specific logins and once you log - you get your info. General recommendation is to contact support sites of those games for enabling icloud instructions or enabling of transfer. There are other purely apple ways - like sync your phone in itunes and then sync apps with ipad, but those are only one time transfer. There is another way that is not typically recommended - restoring ipad from iphone backup. It may transfer your game content, but once again sync in the future has to be done by game.
So if I were you, I would address that individually with every game provider. -
I have an Itunes account already set up, when setting up my hubby's new phone to itunes, I have somehow merged the 2 itunes accounts together and now itunes is not responding to my phone and all of my info has synced onto my hubby's phone wiping all of his info and adding mine...Help!!
If her data was not backed up or synced to something, it's gone. Sorry.

I have a new iPad with wifi. When I send messages I can see my sons and my husbands but not my phone number. We all have an iPad and all use the same apple ID as iPad the bill. How can I remove their numbers and add mine?
Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.

i opened an icloud account for a new mini ipad to give them their own email, so they wouldnt be on my account, but when I came back to my account I could no longer get in my account with my password, so my account was gone....and now all the accounts are over lapped and dont work right, I want to get back to my original apple ID and everything I have bought over the last 6 years!!
what do I doUse the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
i tried to do a backup from my old iphone as i have a new one that was signed into another itunes account. it said i cant do it because the iphone rejected the request. how do i get around this? i have signed out of the old acct and into mine on the phone
What is the precise wording of the error message that occurs on the old iPhone when attempting to do a backup?

My texts all failed when I synced my iphone 4S to my new mini ipad with cellular. ATT said I needed to create a separate ID for the mini ipad in order for texting to work. Will separate apple IDs still enable me to sync my iphone to my mini ipad?
Go to Settings>Mail, etc.>iCloud and delete the account. Then add in a new account with the details you want.

I have an iPhone 4s 16GB Model and I've been using it for about more than an year now. The reason I wanna get a new iOS device is because my 4s has got lots of scratches now and it's ambient light sensor seems not to work properly. Apparently, another reason is that the iLife and iWork suit are not free for me as my device is older and new devices get those softwares for free.
I thought to go with a new iPhone 4s again but the problem is that new 4s come with only 8GB of storage and they don't support AirDrop. So next, I thought to go with an iPod touch 5th gen because of its jaw-dropping design, bigger screen, more storage and AirDrop support. Because iPod touch is phone-less iPhone and they come at affordable price, I can also buy any cheap cell phone like moto e to replace my current iPhone 4S.
Another options that I thought a little bit on, is iPad 4th Gen and iPad mini with Retina display 16GB.
Now, should I just stick with my current 16GB iPhone 4s, or get a new one.
Or should I buy an iPod touch 5th gen and moto e (since iPod can't make phone calls)
Or should I go with one of the two iPad models that I aforementioned.

They're a lot more expensive, but Griffin has some of their 'survivor' cases with sealed ports, so you could cover up the ones you don't need.
If best buy isn't an option for you, at least there's a manufacturer to look for.
