Mega view 566 problem

I have a Mega View 566 [had it around 6 years ] I love it ,but I have messed it up . I decided [god knows why ] to do a update on it by doing a reset settings [not using my PC ] halfway through the re set the battery ran out of power & it went off . I recharged the battery & now only the power light comes on & nothing else . I plugged it into my PC & my PC says device not recognised . I am stuck .I faxed MSI tech & no reply . I have telephoned about 4 diff MSI numbers & they either have never heard of the 566 or just cant advise . I only ever used it for downloading from the TV & using on my many trips abroad on planes . It was working perfect before I messed around with it ,but unless someone can come up with a answer ,or who can fix it [shop is shut down I bought it from in London] It is £300 into the dustbin . HELP . John. PS tried all the usual stuff [holding down power button for 5 secs . All that does is turn off the power light .

The batterys are fine ,plus I used the power plug as well [you can use it plugged in as well ] . Lock switch on or off does nothing . My only chance maybe is I spoke to a electrical repair shop in Devon & they say try downloading the settings on my PC on a SD card and then put that in the mega view . Not yet sure how to do that and my PC does not have a slot for a SD card in any case .

MSI MEGA VIEW 566

Hi, I have tested the Mega View 566 for a while now. And I found out 3 days afther I buyed it that mine dosent have a menu called FM radio.
What is wrong???
And one more thing are there coming any Firmeware update to it??
It's a problem that you only do one operation at the time. For exampel play a song, and browse the rest of the mp3 songs you got on the player.
I also think the interface looks a little uncool, make some nice menu's like the ipod photo has...

MSI MEGA VIEW 566 - HDD ERROR MESSAGE A/V Recording

The message HDD ERROR displays whem I try to record Audio and Video!
It happens whem I'm using MEGA VIEW 566 in your belt case and a camera is attached in my helmet!
I can't understand why its happening.
HDD doesn't have cache?
How can I resolve this problem, or this problem is in the HDD?

The JVM had died in the GFX package.
I suggest you do a windows update and make sure you have the latest graphics drivers.
Failing that you need to get a new version of java when it becomes available. :)

Mega View 588 problem! (blank screen)

Hi.
I just got a new Mega View 588, and I have already one big problem. When I was playing in settings I accidently pressed on "Software upgrade" or something like that. Something was displayed on the screen, but I forced it to power off.
Now, when I'm trying to start my Mega View 588, I can only see a blank screen - no sound, no picture. I've tried the System Recovery - didn't work. The battery is charged, the battery led is lit. I can connect it to my PC.
If anyone know how to fix it, please help me. Thank you in advance!

If the PC can detect for 5588, I have two solution for your reference, we can simulate your MS-5588 that have screen situation to update software or connect TV by AV terminal and press LCD/TV button on the remote control to complete the procedure to update the software.
Solution1:
You must follow below procedure to do: (no screen status)
1.Please download the latest firmware and unzip!!(http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/firmware/frm/spt_frm_ia_detail.php?UID=616)
2.Copy this unzipped .rar system folder's files, replace system folder's files to your MEGA VIEW 588
3. When you boot up, after wait for a moment, stir the above key one time and press “enter” button.
4. Stir the right key four times and stir the below key two times, then stir the right key one time, last stir the left key one time.
5. After stir the left time, please press “enter” button.
6. Please wait in a few minutes (about 3 minutes), and survey your MS-5566 whether have any action/motion.
Please try again!!
Please note: If you can’t see system file of MEGA VIEW 588, It is setting hidden file, Please enter OS “control desk” and enter “select folder” and enter “survey” to choose "display all files and folder".
If solution1 couldn’t solve your issue, please try to solution2 again!!
Solution2:
Please do according to firmware update procedure of the following: (use of the remote control)
1.Please download the latest firmware and unzip!!(http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/firmware/frm/spt_frm_ia_detail.php?UID=616)
2.Copy this unzipped .rar system folder's files, replace system folder's files to your MEGA VIEW 588
3. Reboot, please connect “AV.out” to TV by AV terminal and press LCD/TV button on the remote control.
4. Pressing enter in “setting” position, go to “info” and select to “update software”.
5. After enter to “update software”. will show ”confirm”.
6. Choosing “yes” and press enter button begin update.
7. The TV will show the word “waiting reset”, after show the red, green and blue square grid in order, the system will automatic rebooting, update success!
Please note: If you can’t see system file of MEGA VIEW 588, It is setting hidden file, Please enter OS “control desk” and enter “select folder” and enter “survey” to choose "display all files and folder".

Mega View 566

Just wondering if this device is available yet? I've been searching but I havent been able to find anyplace to purchase it from.

Mega View 588 Problem

Within a week of purchase, my 588 was freezing. Then, i ran the System Recovery using the CD provided with the player. After that, it was working fine. But, after i ran the system recovery, wmv files are not playing now. I even updated the firmware(ver 1.0.26.xx or something) available in the msi website....even then also, the wmv files are not playing......Before this problem, wmv files converted with the provided video vault software were working in this player. After i ran the system recovery, only wmv 800kbps files are playing. Files converted as wmv 600 kbps and 500 kbps are not playing. Before i ran system recovery, all wmv (800, 600 and 500 kbps) files were playing properly.
Any suggestions how to resolve it????
Why the player was freezing? Is there a problem with the harddisk or the software?
what should be the latest version of the firmware...in my player, the software version is shown as 1.0.26 and firmware version as 81.

Thanks for the response. But, I don't find the firmware version 82 anywhere in the website. I only do find the Software update(1.0.26.xx) in the MSI website...That is not the firmware update..... Do you know the location where i can get this firmware update(ver 82).....Can you please let me know this location?
Then, regarding this freezing problem....I tried to delete one avi file in 588...it was showing the "WAIT" text in the screen and it was just freezing for around 12 minutes. Then, it was not responding to any buttons in the player. Even, force power off was also not working....then, i had to remove the battery to switch off the player. When i switched on the player after that, it was just showing the First screen as "MSI My Style Inside" and freezes.....Then, i performed the system recovery...
Before System recovery, i actually converted one of the wmv file downloaded from the internet using video vault(medium quality, 600 kbps)....it was playing fine....

I recently updated my mega view 563 and I think I updated it with the wrong software...
and now my mega view dosn't work at all. all i can see is a black screen and I can hear is the msi's opening speech "It's my Style... my Style and I"*2 and it stays black. the battery is fine... and the hardware is also fine (it's only 2 days old...)
so if someone can help ASAP i'll really appreciate it...

Mega View 561 firmware

Hey just in case you didn't notice on MSI's site they have updated firmware for the Mega View. I didn't notice any interface differences but I figure it must fix some issue...?

Ok looks like Apex lost the right to manufacture the device and MSI snatched it up so it's the same thing but different as MSI has tweaked the firmware some. Keep it coming.
Looks like the new mega view 566 has a record timer function, how about adding that to the 561 as well MSI, it is in the firmware right?

Problem with Mega View 561

I'm Italian. Sorry for my english; I hope to be comprensible.
I've just got a Mega View 561, but I had a problem with it.
Now it don't start anymore.
In the manual I read that there should be a restore CD-ROM in the package supplied with the Mega View, but i didn't find it.
I also didn't find a mail address able to connect directly the support in MSI, also in the Internet site.
Could someone help me in some way?

Mega View 588 stops playing video after 1Gb

I have recently started using Slysoft's CloneDVD Mobile to make DivX files of DVDs. So that I can play the DivX onto a TV I have chosen a large picture size. This has made quite large files, greater that 1Gb.
Playing these large files on Mega View 588 works fine until 1Gb of file has been read, then the player just aborts.
example: 1hr34min film is converted to 1.6Gb file. The film plays but then stops after 1hr. This equates to about 1.02Gb.
example: 1hr50min film is converted to 1.14Gb file. The film stops at 1:30. This equates to 1.02Gb.
Both films play to their ends on a PC.
I am using latest firmware, 1.0.26.1.
Is this correct behaviour?

Sometimes it is refreshing properly in time and taking approximate 5-8 min to refresh. But sometimes it seems to be like hang or when I m checking the job for refreshment its only showing runnning.

Rubish mega view 588 and webcam

I purchased the Mega View 588. It is not working at all. After swapping, the quality is !! Then ask for another swapping or help. The technician this is the normal! FXXX. what this. Also the Web cam 370i, the colour is funny and not very nice. Do not purchase those! I can not believe MSI is going to be a doggy manufacturer.

as for your megaview 588, i can't speak for that as i've never used one, but what do you mean by poor quality? the hardware or video? sure your videos are not just poor quality?

MSI Megaview 566 Problems while startup...

Hi guys! i have a MSI Megaview 566 and i can't startup them, when i power on the player appears the "my style inside" intro video and later the LCD turns a little opaque and the image gets freeze in the logo of the msi and the "my style inside" frame but nothing more happens, just get freeze in the intro logo...
Now, i'm gonna tell what happens before, i was copying a video (divx) in the player from a cd, them the cd-rom stops because the cd it was damaged at the end, and i just cancel the copying process in the windows explorer (i have winxp sp2), later i plug out the usb cable from the player to view if the video archive it was copied, and it was copied but it was duplicated... them i power off the player and power on again and check the video folder once again in the player and still was duplicated, them i plug the usb cable to check the folder from the windows explorer and it was duplicated too, so i try to delete one of them from the windows explorer and get an crtitical error, so i try to delete the other one video and once again i gets an error message, so i plug out the usb cable and enter in the video folder from the player os, and try to delete once again, them... the file at least was deleted, so i delete the other one (duplicate) video file and the player do it, so i power off the megaview player and power on again to check the video folder and still are one of the video files...so i reboot once again the megaview and them cant startup the player... just appears the intro video and nothing more happens, the image gets freeze and now the player cant be recognized by the pc.
Anyone did haved this problem before? any help? what can i do? how can i reset the system from the player? i try the 516 method (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=83015.0) but dont work for this player.

Mega View 561

Can anyone tell me where to purchase an ac adapter for my Mega 561? Lost it and my online etailer-Buy.com- does not sell the
adapter alone. MSI USA is completely unresponsive. Tried after market products to no avail. Thanks...

In "Maplins" a UK electrical goods store. Full description is "universal switched adaptor for digital camera", manufactured by "Sunpower". Voltage settings from 3 through to 7V, 2100mA max. Comes with seven plugs (including a yellow +ve core one which fits the MV), plus UK, US and Australian wall socket fittings. You should be able to find something similar almost anywhere.
Charge time was identical with the supplied MV adapter (did not solve the problem I was having with a flaky microswitch on the MV 566 though, causing intermittent charging if the charge cable was moved. Waiting for repair or replacement from MSI).

VIEW Query Problem

Hi Greg,
I had created a view on a table which doesn't have Primary Key, but it has Unique and Not Null constraints on required columns.
I had wrote a procedure to query the data on VIEW. I have experienced strange problem, very first call to procedure will take more time than succeeding requests. For example from second request onwards, it returns data in < 2 Sec, but first transaction is taking 12 Sec to 30 Sec.
I thought that very first time VIEW is taking time to refresh it self. So, I added FORCE keyword in CREATE VIEW stattement. However, that doesn't helped out.
In my further investigation I came to know that base table on which VIEW created, has to be loaded in to memory before querying on VIEW.
So, I had executed a simple select statement on base table, before I execute VIEW query in procedure.
With this change I got results consistently < 2 Sec all the times.
My question is instead of executing the select statement on base table is there a way to load base tables data in memory before querying on VIEW?

Hi,
A view is nothing but parsed SQL statements stored in the database, a view may or may not run faster. If you execute the SQL used to define the view how much time is it taking. If you want try looking at MATERIALIZED VIEW , that may help you.
