MegaSky 580 on Windows X64, Driver?

Hey Peeps,
I've just installed my MSI Megasky 580 onto my notebook and have used the latest drivers as posted on the UK MSI Site.  I can't find any mention on the official site or indeed anywhere on the internet.
Does anyone have any information about 64 bit and the megasky 580?
Regards
Adam

there are no 64bit drivers released by MSI for this product
you could try asking on www.planetamd64.com, as most hardware like this is based on an existing design (eg the MSI DigiVOX is recognised by MCE as a Twinhan DVB USB), there may be alternative drivers there you could use

You can find a compatibility list in our knowledgebase by searching for article SID7824. Unfortunately, it appears that the WebCam Vista and NX have no development planned for x64.

I will update thread with their reply as nothing, even Driver Genius Professional 11 has located the actual working driver. Once an update is verified, I will post back to this thread since I couldn't find the right answer online.

  • Color laserjet 5m windows 7 x64 driver

It appears that despite the compatibility list for "older" printers and Windows 7 seems to be restricted to 32 bit machines.  Is there a workaround for the HP Color Laserjet 5M and Windows 7 X64?  With the demise of XP I may have to retire a perfectly good printer for which I have at least a years supplies of toner, collection kits, transfer kit and drum...
Anyone out there had any joy with finding an x64 driver?

Don't know about Windows 7, but my Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system has a built-in driver (PostScript) for this printer series/model:
I don't know whether the driver is present on a fresh Windows install; it may only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button was clicked on the above Add Printers dialogue, then waiting (perhaps for several minutes) whilst additional drivers were downloaded, and the list repopulated.

  • WinDbg(x64) can't install 1394 Windows Debug Driver (1394kdbg.sys)

I am unable to get kernel mode debugging with a 1394 connection to target working.
When using WinDbg(x64) to start kernel debugging, the Windows Debug Driver (1394kdbg.sys) driver fails to install.  Note that I am executing WinDbg by selecting "Run As Administrator".
    WinDbg reports ...
Failed to install 1394 device driver.  Error 0xE000020B.
    I am using Visual Studio 2013 w/Update 4 and DDK V8.1 w/Update 1.  My platform is 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.
After attempting the driver install, the "1394 Windows Debug Driver" status in Device Manager has a yellow triangle bang status, and the device status is "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted
    or missing. (Code 39)".
    I have ...
    1. uninstalled the DDK and re-installed it.
    2. Manually uninstalled the driver and the 1394 Bus Host Controller driver and re-installed both (many times).
    3. Replicated the exact problem on another system which has a different 1394 Bus Host Controller.
    4. Found this link "http://www.osronline.com/showthread.cfm?link=249979" that exactly describes my situation as well.  Unfortunately, his solution was to install version 7 of the DDK.
Is there some issue with that driver?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
I have found a solution that works for me:
I installed WDK 8 - onto a different Windows system, just to be sure to not mess up the WDK 8.1 installation on my development machine. After that I made a backup of the folder c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Debuggers\x64\1394 on the development
system and replaced its content with the files from the appropriate directory in the WDK 8 installation path.
After manually uninstalling the driver for the 1394 Debugger Device and restarting Windows on the development system the driver installation initiated by the first attachment of the kernel debugger to the debuggee succeeded and debugging via Firewire is
now working as it should ...

I downloaded the new SB Li've! drivers (Creative Sound Blaster Li've! x64 Driver (2.23MB) released 2 Augh 05) - uninstalled all Creative programs and all Audio drivers on my system, and proceeded to install the drivers as instructed. I reboot my system and I get sound...but only in my front left, front right, and subwoofer. I go to my sound and audio settings, switch my advanced settings to 7. home theatre, and still only the 2 front speakers and the sub are working. • Which windows x64 chipset driver (IDE/ATA) is working on an iMac 24" (early 2009)?

The bootcamp software that came with the imac is not working in Windows 8. Is there a separate x64 driver for that chipset? I found several drivers for the nforce chipset which all did not work. I have found drivers for all other devices in that iMac. The missing IDE driver results in a very slow System. Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you actually tired it yourself?  I'm wondering if this is a workaround, or will this be the official solution.  I wouldn't mind trying it, but I don't want to mess it up for when the Official driver is released.

  • MSI Megasky 580, My remote doesnt Work

    Hello there everybody
Im having some trouble working my remote with my megasky 580. It just doesnt seem to work at all, i just bought my megasky 580 last week. It has worked once before when i first got it. Im confused as to what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    MY PC Specs are
    P4 2.8GHZ intel celeron
    768mb DDR ram
    200GB hard drive
2 port usb (on board) 4 port (pci card) NB my Megasky 580 is connected to my onboard usb slots

    I have a program called StartupMonitor. http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml
It stops unwanted programs from running at startup.
If you have somthing like it, it can be antivirus, anti-adware or a firewall, doing the same thing as StartupMonitor, then that can be the problem.
See if "URemote.exe" and "Monitor.exe" is running.
But try reinstalling all drivers and Presto! PVR.
If you know how to use the registry, then try to edit and add this.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "URemote"="C:\\Program files\\NewSoft\\Presto! PVR\\URemote.exe"

  • There must be a real solution to "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
I've spent hours researching this error - Seems like many people have the same issue although there is no difinitive fix or known cause.
I'm hoping someone here has an answer.
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM (HP)
This is not an upgraded Vista system.
It's not a specific driver related issue as it's the same response/effect be it graphics/chip set/usb/printer drivers.
Please dont suggest to flatten and re-install or run a repair install - It's not an option, I only have remote access to the unit
as it's currently in field use.
This is a machine specific issue - identical machine purchased at the same time and configured the same has no issue.
    So the story.
User has been fine for weeks - no hardware of software changes except Windows Updates.
A Camera/USB connection that was working no longer does.
    Tried in all USB ports
Plug in - windows announces found new hardware, tries to install drivers then fails
with "Windows found software for your device but encountered an error installing ...."
Device manager finds and identifies device although it is in the 'Unknown Device" category.
Manually updating drivers via search/internet or point directly at a driver has exactly the same effect.
Thinking this was just the camera drivers - I researched and downloaded new drivers from camera manufacturers sites
    Fuji and Canon.
    Same effect.
Deleted/uninstalled drivers completely, deleted/uninstalled all USB root hub and USB devices (hidden and visible)
    SFC /Scannow finds no error
Cold boot finds USB and chipset(?) devices on boot attempts to reinstall then we get
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
So now I have no usb devices at all - memory stick/card reader/printer...... nada.
in fact if I try to update any device driver I get the same message generated.
Restore point does not help either.
After much trawling I found reference to a permisions issue and stale driver cache data.
(This is using an administrator account - not user with admin permissions?)
I'm willing to try anything at this time
I deleted the infcache.1 and other .dat files under c:\windows\system32\driverstore
Copied the usb  .inf and .pnf from the appropriate FileRepository directory into c:\windows\inf
Uninstalled all the usb/unkown devices from device manager again.
    Rebooted
Takes a little longer to boot as I take it it's rebuilding the driver cache then
    a very short hurrah!!!
I can now use usb memory card and pen drives - no issue
Plug in a camera or printer...
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
Several attempt at this trying different driver versions.
It should not be vendor specific, the other field machine that works is using Microsoft drivers for these devices.
I even copied the drivers from one machine to the other - repeated everything above...
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
And then the nail in my sanity
    Try windows update....
    Reboot
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
    but this time its different.
The device it thinks it cannot install is the generic MTP-PTP drivers  (Photo Transfer Protocol -so am I getting somewhere)
so it still finds but cannot install.
The cameras are always found but appear as 'unknown devices' and cannot be accessed
Uninstall all USB/unkown again - reboot..
Same message and this time I've lost all the USB again.
Restore point to before Win Update gets me USB back again although I still have no cameras  - so theres an update issue as well.
This has to be tied down to a file access/ registry problem although I'm loath to go cutting about without some guidance.
I'm no great believer in 'registry cleaners' unless anyone can point to a definitive/no ad's/sales version that really works.
As I said above, flattening/rebuild at this time is not an option - the user is not best pleased and I'm completley stumped.
If anyone has experienced(manu of you have) and fixed(still to find one) this issue please let me know how as soon as possible.
    Chris

I know I am replying to an old thread - but I have the answer and resolved this error, and since this message comes up first in search results, and part of my answer came from this thread, I wanted to help someone else as this took an extra
12 hours and a lot of technical insight to resolve. See below for detailed explanation that others ask for above.
My original issue was that iTunes didnt reinstall. generating this error that said I am trying to access an unavailable network resource and to browse to find itunes64setup (again). This may partly have been due to me deleting old install version folders.
Research led me to completely uninstall apple products and reinstall per their instruction and fixed the issue with iTunes. see
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
The SAME error I had while updating itunes recurred while uninstalling it from my Windows 7 SP1 system...so I went to microsoft Fixit and attempted to correct and it properly uninstalled iTunes for me, which allowed the reinstall.
What didnt work was my USB web root/ root hub, which partly involved my older system and USB 1.0, and the delete/reinstall existing drivers with the c:\windows\winsxs folder as source of drivers (thank you Magon Liu!!!) which I had to figure out what/why
    and how.
Then I had an intel chipset issue...my new Iphone wasn't recognizing in plug and play, and there was an error with installing the device drivers for my new iphone 6. Manual applications didn't work, even though a generic device showed in control panel -
device manager with a yellow !
Per above blog answer - I tried to remove and reinstall my USB controller or update the drivers (I have an Alienware M15 laptop - a few years old.) I discovered that the USB host controller - an Intel(R) 5 Series / 3400 Series Chipset family USB Enhanced
Host controller - (port) was not covered by current Intel chipset programs which are Series 6 and later, but did have an update (8/20/2009 v9.1.1.1020)  that supported USB 2.0 (and therefore 3.0 backwards compatibility which as an issue with my new iPhone
and some USB thumb drives.) To find this I had to look at the Support - Downloads and Drivers - browse for drivers and somewhere found an option to look for older no longer supported drivers. I found infinst_autol.exe for my case.
Once downloaded I tried to install and failed. Found the log in C:\Intel\Logs and contains:
    [InstallDev]
              [Device]
                Driver = C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf
                INF = C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf

    Execute command: C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\x64\Difx64.exe -DriverInf "C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf" -Flags 20 -KeyPath "Software\Intel\Difx64"
                Using RegDeleteKeyEx
!!!         ERROR 0xE0000246: DriverPackageInstall generated an unexpected error
HERE'S THE ADDED EXPLANATION TO BRIAN'S POST THAT EXPLAINS THE SECURITY ISSUE:
This turned out to be an error for two reasons. First, after manually running the command in an "run as administrator" window (same error result), thinking it related to my anti-virus (turned that off/disabled firewall and A/V), and from this thread
granting my user administrative rights to files in an install folder and trying to reinstall inf files and drivers from C:\Windows\winsxs vs my copied infinst_autol.exe expansion (as found from log in C:\Users\David Samuels\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7 folder).....that
there was an easier solution as the reason this error actually happens is a permissions problem.
To access the proper windows system folders - you have to be the TrustedInstaller service - not just in the administrator group...or you have to be the actual "Administrator" account. To become actual administrator on
your own laptop, Open a command window "run CMD.exe as administrator", then execute command
    > net user administrator /active:yes
This creates a local PC Administrator account with no password. Coincidentally it has proper permissions to windows directories for installing drivers. Log in as this user, go to device manager and update the USB hub and any other drivers. if updating the
USB root - it doesn't replace it right away as the system cant disable the currently resident in memory "running" driver  - you have to update, then restart the system, log in as administrator and repeat at the next lower layer that has issues.
Once completed - log in as yourself again and disable the administrator account in a command window with > net user administrator /active:no
This in my case enabled all my USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices on my originally only USB 1.0 laptop and everything else works properly again - I hope this helps many of you to resolve your own issues that were difficult to find and resolve and that got as far as
    this thread. Good luck!

  • Win 7 x64 Driver for a 32bit CF Cardbus Adapter (x61)

Does anyone know where I can get a Win 7 x64 driver for a 32bit CF cardbus adapter mounted in the Lenovo x61 internal multicard reader?
I am running Win 7 x64 on a Lenovo X61 7675-CTO.  I have an Viking 32 Bit High Speed Compact Flash Cardbuss Adapter inserted in the internal multicard reader.  When I insert a CF card in the reader, I get  "Mass Storage Controller" and "drivers for this device are not installed" error indicators from the Windows Device Manager.
This configuration was working fine for me under Win XP x32.  I read the suggestion posted to another thread that one can downgrade to Win 7 x32, but I am hoping for a X64 solution.  I have already installed the "6iio10ww" Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit).  The problem seems to be that Viking has not released a x64 driver for this product.  It seems Microsoft should have installed the proper driver during the OS install since this device was around before the Win 7 was introduced.
Can anyone suggest a source for the proper driver or an alternative CF card cardbus adapter known to work with Win 7 x64 OS?

    Thanks!
Apologies for now double-posting: new thread

I have contacted the msi customer service about this AMD related problem. Their reply was the following:
"We make sure Genesys’s driver is no problem since we have tested countless times of AMD motherboard!! I suspect that your system’s software may be interfered with Genesys driver or OS has been the problem (instable), thus I propose you reinstall OS and don’t install other software first (as long as install north / south bridge chip, graphic card or LAN drivers, and so on), then go to our website to download 5580 latest driver and patch and try again!!
    5580 driver link:
    5580 PVR patch link:
I would just like to say that this is a pretty sh**ty product if it requeires a new installation of OS before you can actually use it. And by the way, this was one of the first devices/softwares that I installed to my brand new computer, and it still did not work.
I have no intention of installing all my OS and programs again just because of this piece of hardware. My OS is perfectly stable and everything else works fine. It is just amazing how the programs in my P4 computer does not interfere with mega sky, even though they are exactly the same as in my AMD computer
I think I'm going to give up and toss this mega sky in to a swamp.

  • 64 Bit Windows XP Driver for EMU cards

    All,
I just noticed this so I thought this might interest some of you. We now have a Beta EMU Digital Audio Systems driver for Windows XP 64 Pro available for download. It is located here. Keep in mind that this is a beta driver so this may not have the stability of a final release (although it has been tested for stability).
    Jeremy
    Edit:
Some of my friends at EMU have told me that they are very interested in any issues that are encountered while using this. They would highly appreciate any feedback that you can give them through the download site, which once again is: http://preview.creativelabs.com/emu/default.aspx. There is an issues button on the right which should allow you to make a submission.

I have used the x64 driver for months and the Aigust 1 driver will not install after I uninstall the old one. It will either state the system is up to date or say there is insufficient hardware available. Can you guys look into this. I notice the installing is a sefl-extracting installer; how about giving us the inf. or something for a manual install. Also, the timing out of these drivers is tiresome because some of use even have progrms that update the date of the BIOS making this a severe PITA. Overall, the drivers work great but these install and expiration issues need to be looked at.

    what possibly could be wrong?

Pavel The host machine is on a domain(say ABC) and I am logged In as the domain administrator. On The target machine I am logged in as the local administrator. Now while adding the target computer from visual studio I am asked for the administrator account

Pavel I found it is necessary to install "WDK Test Target Setup x64-x64_en-us.msi" on the target machine which I had not run. Once installing that I passed through the previously mentioned steps and after performing few installations target machine
got rebooted. And then the deployment process hanged on step a "Attempting to connect...". Tried this for multiple times but result in to the same problem.
