Megasky 580 standby problem

After computer wakes up from standby or hibernate I get the blank screen.
Only after I remove megasky from usb port I see the picture on monitor.
I have latest version of software and drivers, all windows update files...
Since I want to use scheduled recordings can you give me some tip or link
to the new version of drivers (if existss).
thanks

I didn't mention it in my previous mail but same problem with wakeup from standby/hibernate
happens on my MSI L720 notebook.
Other applications wake up PC from standby or hibernate without problem on both systems.

  • MSI MegaSky 580 - Reception problems!

I am having a huge problem with my MEGASky 580 Digital TV Dongle. The problem is i receieve very low reception/signal. The antenna which was provided in the box gave very very little signal so i went and bought an antenna and although the reception is a bit better - it is still unwatchable. Most of the time i get no picture at all - thats how bad the reception is. :(
I have 2 TV's in my house (analogue) - both are operating through indoor rabbit ear antennas and i get 100% picture. I am in a city area so there shouldnt be any problem - but the signal is terrible.
Could there be any interference or what is wrong??
Please help - im out of ideas.
    Thank You
This is the antenna i bought: http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/446b150901373d442742c0a87f9c065b/Product/View/L4017

although you get good analogue reception, are you in an area that has good digital coverage?
here in the UK, we can buy indoor aerials designed for digital reception; i have one myself, but i still have to use a signal booster as well
digital TV needs a very good signal to work; whereas with a slightly weak signal on analogue TV you can still receive the transmission but with noise and 'snow', a weak digital signal simply won't show anything at all
experiment with trying your indoor aerial in different positions in your room; try putting near to a window pointing towards your nearest DTT transmitter, some types of wall can block certain signals
you might find you need to invest in a good wideband rooftop aerial

  • Megasky 580 recording problems

I have the usb digital receiver version of the megasky 580 usb which in all respects works fine off my external aerial and I am happy with that. I have no issues with channel search and playback is quite stable. However, when I try to record anything to my disk I frequently get about 25 minutes through the recording then the whole system halts. All I can do is hard reset the pc. Might there be a software conflict that is causing this issue such as AV or wireless network kicking in? the Pc is an AMD 2600+ with half GIG DDR and a 160G ATA that I use for video editing of which there is at least 100G free.
    Thanks for any responses

  • Problem With MSI Megasky 580

Bought the MSI Megasky 580 about a week ago to watch tv on my pc, installed it everything seemed to work fine but i press scan channels and it doesnt find a thing, not even one programme, put the antenna in a bout 8 different places in my room and it doesnt even get a weak signal, any ideas?
    thanks

I have contacted the msi customer service about this AMD related problem. Their reply was the following:
"We make sure Genesys’s driver is no problem since we have tested countless times of AMD motherboard!! I suspect that your system’s software may be interfered with Genesys driver or OS has been the problem (instable), thus I propose you reinstall OS and don’t install other software first (as long as install north / south bridge chip, graphic card or LAN drivers, and so on), then go to our website to download 5580 latest driver and patch and try again!!
    5580 driver link:
    5580 PVR patch link:
I would just like to say that this is a pretty sh**ty product if it requeires a new installation of OS before you can actually use it. And by the way, this was one of the first devices/softwares that I installed to my brand new computer, and it still did not work.
I have no intention of installing all my OS and programs again just because of this piece of hardware. My OS is perfectly stable and everything else works fine. It is just amazing how the programs in my P4 computer does not interfere with mega sky, even though they are exactly the same as in my AMD computer
I think I'm going to give up and toss this mega sky in to a swamp.

  • MSI Megasky 580, My remote doesnt Work

    Hello there everybody
Im having some trouble working my remote with my megasky 580. It just doesnt seem to work at all, i just bought my megasky 580 last week. It has worked once before when i first got it. Im confused as to what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    MY PC Specs are
    P4 2.8GHZ intel celeron
    768mb DDR ram
    200GB hard drive
2 port usb (on board) 4 port (pci card) NB my Megasky 580 is connected to my onboard usb slots

    I have a program called StartupMonitor. http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml
It stops unwanted programs from running at startup.
If you have somthing like it, it can be antivirus, anti-adware or a firewall, doing the same thing as StartupMonitor, then that can be the problem.
See if "URemote.exe" and "Monitor.exe" is running.
But try reinstalling all drivers and Presto! PVR.
If you know how to use the registry, then try to edit and add this.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "URemote"="C:\\Program files\\NewSoft\\Presto! PVR\\URemote.exe"
    "ChangeFilterMerit"="C:\\Program files\\NewSoft\\Presto! PVR\\ChangeFilterMerit.exe"
    "Presto! PVR Monitor"="C:\\Program files\\NewSoft\\Presto! PVR\\Monitor.exe"

  • X200 standby problem without ultrabase

I have a refurb X200 and just the basic software so far Win XP Pro 32bit. I updated power manager and drivers and patch from the Lenovo site. When I first put it into standby either by closing the lid, Fn F4 or the start menu it goes into standby in about 3 secs. and recovers in the same time when asked to. On the second and subsequent times I try to use standby (after a reboot) it takes about 16mins to reach standby - in the meantime it shows a screen with "preparing for standby" and the system is inaccessible.  When it finally goes into standby it can be recovered in the normal 2-3 secs. The only way to gain control while it is going into standby is a hard shut down. Following this I again have one normal standby operation. I note people having standby problems with the ultrabase but I haven't tried this yet.

I would like to share with you that it might be because of software issue.
To diagnose, I would suggest you to please update the Power Manager software and also update the Bios of your notebook from the below mentioned web link.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/default.page
After this, please restart the notebook and check if the issue resolved.
    Regards,

  • Standby problem - Z60m

In Windows XP, sometimes when I put my Z60m into standby mode, it will not boot back up. It normally will enter the standby state correctly, with the standby light being the only indicator that is lit. After some amount of time (usually between ten to fifteen minutes), the battery light will spontaneously light up. While this light is on as well, there is no way to bring the system out of standby. Sometimes the battery light turns off again, and it is possible to bring the system back, but often it stays lit and I have to do a forced power-off and reboot the system completely. This is a bit frustrating; has anyone else had the same problem? My first thought was something to do with BIOS.

    Dear Friend !
Get used to it. It is LENOVO. Their upper-most-class million dollar computers (like my Z61p) worth  a piece of **bleep**. It looks perfect. It can give you a wonderfull short-term experience. But when you use it day after day you realise that it is UNSTABLE. I'll never recommend lenovo to anyone. Their support is even more LOL !
---- snitt --- by the way i OF COURSE have the same standby problem. I just dont post it. What for ?
They dont give a **bleep** LENOVO&MS are working on their next top-class systems. PROFIT is what matters these days. Not Quality.

  • MegaSky 580 on Windows X64, Driver?

    Hey Peeps,
I've just installed my MSI Megasky 580 onto my notebook and have used the latest drivers as posted on the UK MSI Site.  I can't find any mention on the official site or indeed anywhere on the internet.
Does anyone have any information about 64 bit and the megasky 580?
    Regards
    Adam

there are no 64bit drivers released by MSI for this product
you could try asking on www.planetamd64.com, as most hardware like this is based on an existing design (eg the MSI DigiVOX is recognised by MCE as a Twinhan DVB USB), there may be alternative drivers there you could use

  • Remote control and MegaSky 580 (MS5580)

    Hi,
i have the device with driver version AP v1.5.0.1 and latest patch for presto installed. watching tv works on one computer (1)  but the remote control does not react.
On another older computer i tested(2), its the other way round. the remote control works, i can start the presto software with the red button, but then it crashes and presto can not start scanning because it can not find the device. strange, the ir-remote works but device not fount, he? anyway, this is not my pc, and i dont want do run the megasky on this one, but i just testet to see if the device is defective.
so, i asked at the msi support, but they said i have to ask the dealer. the dealer did not give any information but excanged the device for a new one. now i have the new device and meanwhile a new pc (3), but there is no difference: tv works but ir does not.
on pc (2) the new device and remote work but tv does not.
now i suspect there is a software fault.
so, asking the dealer for a 3rd device seems to make no sense.
what can i do before i buy another brand?
here the configurations i tested the mega sky with:
    (1)
    AsRock Mainboard 775VM800
    Via P4M800 Chipset
    Intel Celeron D 2,93GHz
    ATI 9600Pro graphics
    512MB DDR 333MHz
    Windows XP SP2
    logitech UltraX Optical Mouse (usb)
    logitech Internet Pro Keyboard (usb)
    (2)
    some older board from msi?
    Pentium 4 2,? GHz
    geforce 4ti graphics
    256MB ram
    Windows XP SP2
    unknown logitech mouse (usb)
    noname keyboard (ps2)
    (3)
    AsRock Mainboard ALiveNF6G-DVI
    NVidia NF-6100-430 Chipset
    Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    Onboard Geforce 6100 graphics
    1024MB DDR2 800 ADATA ram
    Windows XP SP2
    logitech UltraX Optical Mouse (usb)
    logitech Internet Pro Keyboard (usb)

i have done some more investigation with the remote control.
now i'm pretty sure, the sender/receiver work on any of the 3 pcs, but the drivers are not propperly setup or buggy on two of them. here are the things i have done:
in the presto software folder there is a \Driver\KbFilterDriver subfolder with REMOVE.exe in it. i ran it and after re-plugging in the device, there was a yellow exclamination mark at the dtv-receiver under human interface devices. it says the driver could not be loaded. now there was a button for using the "installed driver", that i used to install a microsoft standard hid keyboard driver. i was a little confused, but windows accepted this.
now i can open a notepad window, and every single key ot the remote control results in a character typed into notepad.
after pressing the buttons on the remote row by row, there are: o1abcdefgx2ijk
so what the hell is wrong with the GenesysLogic KbFilterDriver? i want to sit back and watch tv with the remote control in my hand! is that too much demanded? why does not the manufacturer respond on this problem? its obvioulsly their fault.

  • Logical Standby Problem

My environment is Primary database is 11.1.0.7 64bit on Windows 2003 Enterprise 64bit. Logical is on the same platform and oracle version but a different server. I created a physical standby first and it applied the logs quickly without any issues. I received no errors when I changed it over to a Logical standby database. The problem that is happening is as soon as I issue the command "alter database start logical standby apply;" the CPU usage goes to 100% and the SQL apply takes a long time to apply a log. When I was doing this on 10G I never ran into this, as soon as the log was received, it was applied within a couple of minutes. I don't think it could be a memory issue since there is plenty on the Logical standby server. I just can't figure out why the SQL apply is so slow and the CPU usage skyrockets. I went through all of the steps in the guide "Managing a Logical Standby Database" from Oracle and I don't see anything wrong. The only difference between the two databases is that on the Primary I have Large Page support enabled, I don't on the Logical. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I need to use this Logical to report off of.

Thanks for the responses. I have found what is causing the problem. I kept noticing that the statements it was slowing down on were the ones where data was being written to the SYS.AUD$ table in the System tablespace on the Logical Standby database. A quick count of the records showed that I had almost 6 million records in that table. After I decided to truncate SYS.AUD$ on the Logical, the archive logs started to apply normally. I wonder why the Logical has a problem with this table and the Primary doesn't. I didn't even know auditing was turned on on the Primary database, it must be enabled by default. Now I know why my System table space has grown from 1gb to 2gb since November.
Now that I fixed it for now, I am unsure what to do to keep this from happening. Can I turn off Auditing on the Logical and keep it on for the Primary? Would this stop data from being written to the SYS.AUD$ table on the Logical? It doesn't appear that there is any kind of cleanup on this table that is offered by Oracle, I guess I can just clean out this table occasionally but that is just another thing to add to the list of maintenance tasks. I notice that you can also write this audit data to a file on the OS. Has anyone here done that?

  • Re: Standby Problem Windows XP with Satellite L350-172

    Hello
After waking up the system it works a few minutes proper but than i see bluescreen abd immediate reboot.
Do you also have those problems?
    What can i do

    Hi!
On my Satellite L300 I dont have problems with the standby.
Maybe a driver causes the problem or your BIOS should be updated.
For driver and BIOS updates visit the Toshiba website:

  • Macbook Start and Standby Problem

    Hi
My Macbook Pro (Late 2009) seems to have a Problem with any kind of starting up. When i go into standby mode,(close the macbook) and open it again, it turns on for a short second, and shut down completely. It is the same with starting up when it was shut down, except it isnt always a second, sometimes it loads approximately 99% and goes off again, sometimes i have to push the power button a few times. It only starts/wake up after standby when i plug in the battery cable. And this is weird: when i press the option key at the startup, wait a few seconds, and choose the macintosh hd for the startup disk, it starts immediately. Sadly, there is no workaround for standby. That Problem started a few months ago.
I thought it was caused by the 5 years old battery, but i just replaced the battery and the hard drive a few days ago, and its still there.
I also reinstalled the OS, checked the hard drive with the disk utility, and tried a pram and srm reset.
Still no chance to start it normally, help please

70 is fine. If you want to keep it cooler, as I do because I use it on my lap, you can download smcFanControl for free from www.macupdate.com. It allows you to set your fans at a higher speed than Apple did, but doesn't allow you set it lower or interfere with acceleration under stress. If I set my fan at 3000 rpm minimum, which is silent, my temps stay in the 50s. At 3500, which is barely audible in a silent room, I can stay in the 40s. It's up to you.
The left side of my macbook can also be pushed in, or it seems as though it can, but that's been true for months without a sign of any problem.

  • Logical standby problem on primary DB updates

    Hi all!
I am quite new to standby databases, but I managed to sucessfully setup logical standby (11g on linux).
However, I got some problem - when I try to insert some data into Primary DB using simple JDBC statements, I sometimes get exception:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-16224: Database Guard is enabled
And this happens not all the time - sometimes I can insert and commit, but sometimes I get exception.
This never happens when I am trying to insert data directly from sqlplus or TOAD.
looks to me like java application sometimes is connecting to standby database.
    any suggestions?
    Thanks

Check for example, whether both DBs present the same service and whether you have an oracle net configuration like
    myservice =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = host_A)(PORT = 1521))
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = host_B)(PORT = 1521))
          (LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = myservice)
)You should make sure that the productive service is only presented by the primary database. See this explanation:

  • Standby problem iMac

Hi, i have iMac 21.5" with iCore 5 and OS 10.7.4
    I have two problems:
    1) i can't update iTunes to 10.6.3: the answer is that the update is fake and will be downloaded and checked next Software Update. But when i launch soft upd anything change
    2) i have the 10 minutes default Standby. During standby, if i touch the keyboard soon (5 minutes after standby) it's ok. If i wait 10-15 minutes after standby, the iMac screen stay dark and start a continous sound "beep beep beep". I must restart with power button
    Please, have you some idea?
    Many thanks!!!

Three beeps mean the RAM (memory) is probably bad and needs replacing.
