MemoPad

I just bought a 8330 and synced my outlook email, address, calendar, and memopad but I cannot find the Memopad icon on the Blackberry.  Does anyone know where to find it???

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Depending on themes, it looks like a memo pad.
Go to your home screen, press menu key twice, if you have an option to show all, select it.You may have accidentally
hidden it.
If you need more information, please ask!
If not, please resolve the post using the options by the kudos’ star.

  • How to delete PDF files on an ASUS MemoPad

On an ASUS MemoPad there are files that the Adobe Reader can open that I want to delete.
I connected the ASUS up to a computer to look at the ASUS file directory using WindowsExplorer.
Some of the PDF files on the ASUS were found.
    But not all of them,
    The way I placed some of the PDF files onto the ASUS was by attaching them to e-mails;
others were downloaded in links that I got to web-sites.
    Could this be the problem?
Are certain PDf files on the ASUS "hidden" from view in the directory
because they are attached to an e-mail?

PDF files that are attached to an email message are not stored separately on your disk, unless you perform 'Save attachments'.  When you open a PDF that is an email attachment, it is temporarily stored in your Temp folders, but deleted from there once you close Adobe Reader.
The same is true for PDFs that you directly open from a website, unless you explicitly download it.

  • Where is my MemoPad??

Hi!  I have synced all media files via Blackberry Desktop Software - all successful - but my MemoPad notes have cleared and i cannot find them anywhere on my Mac.  Any ideas where they would be, or how to restore them?
The new notes I have added since the sync now show up in my Mail under 'Notes', but no sign of the old ones.....
    Please help!!!

Hello Beeby and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Do the memos still appear on your BlackBerry® smartphone or have the disappeared from there as well?
Did you previously sync with Entourage or have you always done the sync to the mail notes?
DId you happen to backup your data before you did the initial sync?
    Thanks!

  • MemoPad & Tasks not available

I have just had to re-install my device os and my carrier installed v5.0 for me.
On connecting it to my pc to reconfigure the organizer sync I could not set up the memopad sync nor the tasks as these modules are not installed.
Previously I would have gone to the Applications tab on the Desktop Manager and installed it from there... however, since the upgrade none of the core modules and applications are showing.
Any idea how I can install these again?

    Hi
I presume the carrier installed the new OS OTA. I think you will benefit from managing the whole process yourself. The following also includes the removal and reinstalling of DTS to the PC which may also cure the error you have encountered.
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software (DTS)
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
If the PC does not recognize the BB, You need to connect the via the USB cable. Then pull the battery from the BB.
With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector and as SOON as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN hit Next. You have to be quick. From there you can put the battery back in (make sure you install the battery or else when the OS update is completing and the device disconnects from the computer to reboot, it will lose the power provided by the USB connection and you will get an error and have to do it all over again!).
If you don't get it right the first time, try again (unplug from USB, pull battery, connect and hit Next while USB-PIN:Unknown is showing). You have to be fast and the timing is key, so it may take you three or four attempts.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps.
    1) Download JL_Cmder from http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html
    2) Install JL_Cmder to computer.
    3) Double check you have already backed-up the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose ALL data.
    4) Make sure the DTS is closed and plug in the BB to computer via USB
    5) Go to the JL_Cmder on your computer and double click it to start. Now,this may take a few tries to connect, so keep trying until it does.
    6) On the first screen, Press any key to continue.
    7) Now, if your device uses a password, enter it now. If not, press "N"
    8) Press 4 to initiate the WIPE
    9) Press "Y" to continue
    10) Now type "blackberry" to continue
    11) On the BB you will see a white screen with a'507' Error. Don't worry, this is what you want! You are now ready to install the OS.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1). On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Device > Update my device.
2). Click View Other Versions. Click the version of the new OS you previously downloaded.
3). Click Install. The DTM will install the OS and then provide you with a list of applications to install. If you have had difficulties with an app, do not install it.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

  • Why cant I page in the memopad?

I  have an 8800  4.5.0.110 that I cannot figure out how to page forward or backward while I am viewing a memopad?  It seems that I am in edit mode every time I open a memopad.  The keyboard short cut  is to use the space to page forward and the alt and space to page up.  When I hit the space it just inserts a space in the open memo?  Thanks ,,  I know this is stupid but I am stuck...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Because the Memopad opens ONLY in edit mode, those shortcut keys won't work.
    You'll just have to scroll.

  • Bold 9700 Memopad files lost?

    Hey everyone,
I've been searching the forums to try to find a solution for this and while some people have had similar issues, they are slightly different than mine.
I took a bunch of notes on my Bold 9700 memopad between 2011-12 and synced them with my computer which was a 2010 model Macbook Pro. Once I had synced the notes, I never could find them on my computer at that time. I tried to look in the Apple Mail app and found nothing. I had transferred them using the Blackberry Desktop Manager.
Then that computer began to die, so I transferred all information off of it onto my external hard drive. I still have all of the files from that computer. Now I use a new Macbook Air. But I am still unable to find the location of those memopad files. I could never find them on the previous computer, and still cannot find them.
Does anyone have any idea of what folder they may be in? And if so, how I can view them on my Macbook Air?
    Thanks so much!
    Jake

    hi again !
this is what probably happened :
when you installed OS6, at some point you were supposed to check the applications you wanted to be installed back. It seems that BlackBerry Maps was not checked.
so I will ask you to connect your device to your computer, run the loader.exe application (use Windows Explorer to search for it), and reinstall the BlackBerry Maps application, as well as any other application you wish that appears in the list.
    please keep me posted, Sabrina31523.

  • Blackberry 7290 Doesn't Have Memopad??

I just bought a GSM unlocked Blackberry 7290 from FactoryDirect.ca, and upon getting it home and charging it, I found out it was missing some key applications; memopad, tasks and Help being the most noticable...  Tasks and Help I could care less about, but there are only 3 things I used my previous Blackberry (7230) for, and that was address book, calendar and, you guessed it, memopad...  I know it was supposed to have come with it (after reading up on all the features it's supposed to have and what-not), and I tried just copying it over from my other Blackberry using the Desktop Manager, but that didn't work.  It keeps telling me that there are no application files available to move/add/delete or something along those lines...  Does anyone know where I can just download the basic memopad from?  Or some other way to get it onto this new Blackberry of mine?  Thanks.
(Oh, and incase you were wondering, the navigation wheel on the old one got smashed, which was why I needed the new one...)

Update/upgrade the handheld OS. make sure to select the options you want to install when prompted.

  • Missing Features BB 10 + BB Passport = 'Forward as' of: texts received ; MemoPad Memo's

Would like to know If the 'FORWARD AS' function of TEXTS received and the 'FORWARD AS' of MEMOPAD Memo's featured on for example Torch, the 9720 and the 9900 exists on the BB Passport?
The 'FORWARD AS' feature enables me to:
    1. forward TEXTS I received, complete with number of the sender of the text as well as the 'timestamp' (the time and date text was received), in order to store them on the computer
    2. forward MEMOPAD memo's in order to store them on the computer
To my knowledge this feature does not exist on the BB Passport (or on Q10) and stops me from getting one.
If the 'FORWARD AS' feature does exist on the BB Passport please do let me know and I will go out and buy one.
If not please add the 'FORWARD AS' feature to the BB Passport, it exists on the Torch, the 9720 and the 9900, how hard can it be to add this feature?

First, there is app "Memos" on #BlackBerry10 & #BlackBerryPassport devices. The app Remember replaces it.
From all that I know, SMS text messages on #BlackBerry10 models forwarded with the Forward command do not include the sender's phone number nor timestamp. Sorry.

  • Wierd Problem -- Desktop Software stops updating Calendar, Memopad, and Tasks

I have a problem where BDS stops recognizing my phone over bluetooth.  I can reboot the PC, and the bluetooth connection works fine, but BDS deselects the Calendar, memopad and tasks on the "Select Organizer Data to Synchronize" menu page (Address works fine).  This is a pain, because I don't always notice it's been deselected, and I have missed meetings that I entered in my phone because they didn't show up on my Outlook calendar.
Anybody else noticed this problem?  Is there a fix for it?

  • Lost my Memopad after updating to V4.5

I recently updated to V4.5, and after the installation, I noticed that lots of things were missing, so I did a restore of my last backup.  After restoring my last backup, I still notice that my memopad is missing.  When I look at my list of files from the backup, it shows my memos as unavailable because they have been configured for wireless syncronization or wireless backup and are read-only.  Is there a way to correct this and restore my memos and memopad?  Any help would be very much appreciated!

  • Updated and no longer have memopad

I did the software update on my phone and no longer have the memopad any where.  Is there any fix to get my memopad back.  I use it everday and have hundreds of entries in there.  They are all saved into my Outlook but I have no where to get them on my phone.
    Thanks, Jordan

I found the answer on how to fix this problem (I believe) for those of you that are having the same issue.  You need to open Blackberry Desktop>connect your device>click Applications on the right side of Desktop>Scroll through list and click the + sign on all the ones you would like to add>click Apply in bottom right hand side of screen>Do not disconnect your device.
This brought back my Memopad, Tasks, and all the games that were no longer on my device after I did the update and restored all information.  Hope this helps

  • Memopad Entries from OS 5 not transferred to Q10 - need help

Hello, I have transferred all my data from os 5 (bb8900) to q10 using bb link. I cannot see my memopad entries on the Remember App and at the same time the notes added on the address book entries were not transfered (only names and phone numbers).  How can I send them to the Q10 easily?
    Any help appreciated!

System requirements for Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) can be found here. It appears that your MacBook meets those requirements.
    1. If your MacBook is able to read the PC formatted external hard drive now, it should have no trouble doing so once the OS has been updated, but be sure (by calling the manufacturer) that the drive does not have any issues with Snow Leopard. Some did.
    2. Use an application such as Bombich software's Carbon Copy Cloner to make a backup of your hard drive.
    3. You should always maintain a backup of your important data. Not doing so is an invitation to data loss.
    4. Fortunately Time Machine provides an easy way of doing backups without having to think about it constantly. There are other solutions but this one is built in to the operating system.
    5. No.
    6. If you do a normal install of the OS there should be no loss of those applications. No need to extra backups, just do a clone of the internal hard drive onto your external first.
    7. If you have a MacBook it has an internal display. That's what you look at when you are working on it. Don't worry about this one.
    8. The only dumb questions are the ones you fail to ask. Feel free to ask more, that's what Apple Support Communities is all about.
    Best of luck.

  • MemoPad Filter Problem

I recently purchased a Verizon 8830 WE.  I have numerous memos entered in MemoPad which I synchronize with Microsoft Outlook Notes.  When I view the memos in Outlook, I am able to sort them by category, however when I try to sort them on the 8830 by typing something on the Find: line and/or by selecting a category under Filter, I get *No Memos*, even if there are in fact memos assigned the category selected.  Since I have many memos it is hard to scroll through all of them to find what I'm looking for.  How can I get filtering to work on the device?

  • MemoPad restore

My work recently migrated from Lotus Notes to MS Outlook. I ad to wipe my BB. I made a back up file prior to migration. I am trying to restore my MemoPad entries, but don't see a way to restore only a part of the back up file. Does anyone know how this can be done? Thanks.

I think you overwote all of them.  Did you do a backup of the 9330 before you did the restore from the 9630?
Also are you using blackberry protect?  protect does backup the memopad.  If you didn't do a backup of the 9330 first or use blackberry protect, I think those memos are gone.  Do you have an older backup of he 9330 you can use?  I'm thinking when you do a restore, it is replacing your current data with the stuff from the backup.  Its not adding additional memos to the device.  I haven't used this in awhile, but I thought the desktop manager gives a prompt or warning that you are going to replace the data.
