Memory access error combined with "internal error SIGSEV"

In a code that I work on, I get a memory access error, when i allocate memory to a pointer via new.
It says " Attempting to write 4 bytes at address <address>
which is <x> bytes past the end of heap block of size <size of class allocated throug new> at <address>
After this there is one function call into which i try to step in and i get
"internal error : signal SIGSEV (no mapping at the fault address)" and core is dumped after raising abort signal.
But i dont get any problem with regard to function mapping, when i try stepping over the function and function performs its usual action. Also the binary works fine with no runtime exceptions. It gives this mapping problem while debugging.

Could some one suggest the possible reasons for this error with the give information? Thank you.

Indeed, it is dbx error. Seeing that gdb is involved, I suspect DWARF-related problem. You are using dbx that is almost 4 years old; at the very least, please install all patches; better solution is to upgrade to latest version, it works much better with gcc compilers.
The latest version of Sun Studio can be downloaded from here: http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/
Besides, it has much better IDE and more standard- (and gcc-) conforming C++ compiler, so you might as well try switching to Sun Studio C++ compiler for you project.

  • Anonymous Level Security Token Error combined with DECOMCNFG errors and finishing big with mmc.exe crash

    Hello
    I'm running on  a brand new system Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.
    I have a problem with Internet Explorer 8. When a javascript tries to open a link into a new window I get the error message: Message: Cannot open an anonymous level security token.
    The solution to this is to go to dcomcnfg -> Expand Componenet Services -> Computers
    Select My Computer -> right click My Computer and select Properties.
    On the Default Properties tab set the Default Authentication level and Default Impersonation level.
    Here is the problem: These values can not be set. There are multiple problems with the DCOMCNFG interface.
    1.  There are no values present in the drop down window.
    2.  The first time one selects properties from my computer to access the default properties tab, I get only a 2 tab page consisting only of COM Security and MSDTC.  I have to select the properties option a second time to get the correct page to
    pop up containing the additional 4 tabs that include the default Properties. (strange, but I have actually seen this behavior reported elsewhere on the net by a developer)
    3. On the default properties tab, the "enable Distributed COM on this computer" is unchecked, even though registry values indicate DCOM is enabled.
    4. The drop down windows for "Default Authetication Level" and "Default Inpersonation Level" do not populate with any options when I check the "Enable Distributed COM" box.  Registry values appear to have these settings correctly set.
    5.  Regardless of whether I modify any entries or not on the Default Properties tab, every time I close the Default Properties tab by selecting "OK", mmc.exe crashes and an error is generated. No crash if I select "cancel."  Error info below:

    What have I done to try to remedy the problem?
    Ran fsc scannow and chkdsk with no change.
    What would I like?
    To eliminate the anonymous level security token  error in IE8, and I assume the DCOMCNFG problem may be the cause.
    Thanks, Jim

    I have the EXACT signature of symptoms as described here, but with Windows XP:

    I tried the COMFIX tool suggested by Jim Bacon - it does not complete for me however
    (there is no "run as admin" option in Windows XP, just double clicked to run it.
    Otherwise followed as described (no Norton Ghost)
    It errors out:
    In the Command Window, it says Open Service Fail 1060
    Specific Service does not exist as installed service
    And a Windows Script Host Window that reports error "the system cannot find the file specified" - code:80070002
    Is this because it is XP?
    Is there something similar I can use for XP, or do I have some other limitation?
    Appreciate assistance - I was happy to find this issue reported here so pleased that at least I am not unique in that!

  • Expdp fails with error ORA-39006: internal error writing on a windows share

    Hi!
    I need to get the following configuration working:
    Linux Server (CentOS 5 32 bits) with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0
    Windows Server 2003 SP2 32 bits.
    On the windows server I have created a user called oracle, who is member of oinstall and dba groups. (On Linux username, and group membership is the same).
    After that, I share a directory on D:\data_pump (I gave the full control of directory to oracle user). I mount the windows share on my linux as follows:
    mount -t cifs //winserver/data_pump /u04/oradata/data_pump -o user=oracle,password="pass",uid=oracle,gid=oinstall
    As the linux oracle user I'm capable of create and edit files, but:
    I connect to my database, create the directory called DATA_PUMP pointing to my cifs mount point, and, after that, I issue the following expdp sentence:
    expdp system DIRECTORY=DATA_PUMP DUMPFILE=test4.dmp LOGFILE=test4.log FULL=yes
    And I get the following error:
    ORA-39006: internal error
    Looking at expdp log I found the following information:
    ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -31643
    ORA-39065: unexpected master process exception in FILE
    ORA-31643: unable to close dump file "/u04/oradata/data_pump/gaston4.dmp"

    ORA-27045: unable to close the file

    Do you have any suggestions?

  • Installation fails with "internal error 2502"

    I have a client running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (32 bit) and my app's CVI-built installer fails with "Internal Error 2502".
    This installation kit has been successfully deployed on hundreds of computers with various versions of Windows and I have never seen this one. No device drivers or advanced libraries - just the standard runtime. I use CVI 9.0.1.
    Searches reveal very little - some old issues with Office installation, date/time settings etc. but I have yet to find anything that indicates what this error represents.
    Any insights or ideas very welcome.
    Thanks,
    Ian
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    That appears to be a Windows Installer (MSI) error, and can have many different causes. Can you confirm that anyWindows installers (perhaps try newest Adobe Reader) work on that system? Is the system's date/time set correctly? Could there be a permissions restriction with C:\Windows\system32 or C:\Programs\National Instruments\Shared?
    I'd also try doing an internet search for "installer error 2502" and see what other tips you might find. If all else fails, try running the installer from the command line like this:
    setup.exe /log install_log.txt
    That will generate a log file that might contain a hint for us.

    Theres plenty of notes about ORA-00600... all depending on what is you Oracle version and what was running when the crash happen.
    If it was during the night maybe the system was updating statistics then you can check SAP Note 365421 ORA-00600 [1113] when generating statistics

  • Communication error or ORB internal error

    Hello,
    When I'm trying to connect via Oracle Discoverer Viewer to the database/EUL in order to see some charts, I'm getting following error: "Communication error or ORB internal error". This is wierd, because this was working fine for some time?! Any help would be appreciated...
    TIA,
    Jasmina

    Navigate to the drive:\%oracle_home%\DISCWB33 directory in a DOS prompt. Type in dis33ws. This executable should run. It will give you output similar to this:
    D:\orant\DISCWB33>dis33ws
    Setting up the Operation Mode and Application Name
    Session name: OracleDiscovererSession
    Preference name: OracleDiscovererPreferences
    Setting the creator of DCSThreadMonitor
    Registering SessionManager
    Error binding to Preference Repository
    Starting the memory manager
    Session Manager destructor called (or some other message)or Wakeup if configured properly
    This is normal since we are not passing any parameters to the executable as the batch
    files or services would. The point here is to see if the executable responds and runs.
    If the executable does not run, then the likely cause is corrupt or missing .dlls.
    In this case you would need to reinstall Discoverer.
    Example of one particular resolution:
    Ran dis33ws and received an ODBC error indicating a .dll problem exists.
    Reinstalled Service Pack 6a (SP6a) and Microsoft Data Access Component 2.5
    (MDAC). Re-ran dis33ws and received proper resonponse above.
    Brought up Discoverer via the portal page with no error.

  • Error: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kdisle:nrows], [1], [],

    Hi Gurus,
    I am working with informatica. Recently when I ran my session It was failed with the following oracle error.
    Error: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kdisle:nrows], [1], [], [], [], [], [], []
    Can any one help me to find out what is the problem and how to solve this. And I want what is the exact cause for this error.
    Thanks In Advance
    Rajasekhar

    ORA-00600 errors generally require a call to Oracle support since they indicate unexpected conditions. There may be some information available on Metalink if you search for the particular arguments that are thrown with the error.
    If your machine is not on the most recent patchset, you might try patching the database. Many ORA-00600 errors are resolved by patchsets. Note that access to Metalink or to patchsets requires that you have a support contract with Oracle.
    Also, please be aware that technical questions should be posted to one of the technical forums (Products | Database | Database - General in this case).

    Error (2912)
    An internal error has occurred trying to contact the SCVMM01.dom.local server: NO_PARAM: NO_PARAM.

    Recommended Action
    Check that WS-Management service is installed and running on server SCVMM01.dom.local. For more information use the command "winrm helpmsg hresult". If SCVMM01.dom.localis a host/library/update server or a PXE server role then ensure that VMM agent is installed and running. Refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275 for more details.
    When we want to create a template of a virtual machine, we receive the following error. The environment has the following components and servers:
    * Windows Server 2012 R2 U1 with Hyper-V role enabled
    * High available Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 RU2 (two virtual servers on Hyper-V 2012 R2)
    * High available Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 Library servers (two virtual servers on Hyper-V 2012 R2)
    There're a few things I've already checked:
    * Self-signed certificates in the Trusted People store --> OK
    * Windows Firewall turn off --> OK
    * Re-added a Hyper-V host to the SCVMM environment
    * Reboot the VMM servers and the library servers
    * Export port usage and conflicts with netstat -a -b --> OK, no conflicts
    * Free disk space on the VMM library servers --> OK
    The job is starts fine, but step 1.2 "Store virtual machine W2012R2TMPL from HV01 to CLSCVMMLIB01" Failed. So it looks like the sysprep fase is going well. When VMM is trying to store the virtual machine in the library, it fails.
    Who is familar with this issue and can help me find a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Mark

    Have you installed AppController on the same machine with VMM?

  • Error -29400ORA-29400: data cartridge error IMG-00714: internal error

    Hi,
    I have a table with a blob column containing images, not
    intermedia column.
    I am using intermedia process method to change some images,
    change maxScale and compression.
    I get this error when I try to change certain images
    -29400ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    IMG-00714: internal error
    Does anyone know why?
    P.S. how do you do an explict close of ORDSYS variable
    after initializing?
    Thank you
    David Wilton
    This is my testing procedure:
    PROCEDURE change_image (P_SCANNED_IMAGES_REC IN NUMBER) IS
    v_intermed_image ORDSYS.ORDImage := ORDSYS.ORDImage.init();
    BEGIN
    select image_data
    into v_intermed_image.source.localdata
    from obra.scanned_images
    where scanned_images_rec = p_scanned_images_rec
    for update;
    v_intermed_image.process('compressionFormat=FAX4,maxScale=1696
    2200');
    update obra.scanned_images
    set image_data = v_intermed_image.source.localdata
    where scanned_images_rec = p_scanned_images_rec;
    commit;
    exception
    when others then
    dbms_output.put_line('An exception occurred');
    dbms_output.put_line(sqlcode || sqlerrm);
    END;

    David,
    I suspect you'll need to supply a TIFF image for the interMedia
    engineers to experiment on. The error message you received is
    essentially a "last chance" error message and isn't specific
    enough for diagnosis of your problem.
    Cheers

    Thanks much

    The problem is the sequence cache when cloning a database as was the case here.
    The cache is purged resulting in an invalid "last_cached_value".
    The seq has to be manually incremented until it "pulls" a value 1 above.
    The same problem was the case with a few sequences in the owbsys schema as well.
    Having done this execise I could deploy all my WF.

    After renaming my MAC hard drive, Acrobat, Illustrator and Bridge fail to launch. Acrobat returns the error message "An internal error occurred". I've checked this out and it seems related to user permissions. The version is Acrobat X. My machine has multiple user accounts. Any help would be appreciated. I renamed the drive to its original name but to no effect. RR

    I resolved the issue.
    The problem is indeed a permissions issue with the Adobe Application Support folder.
    First, in MAC OS Lion the ~/Library/ folder is hidden by default. You must unhide it in order to proceed. (if it is already visible in your ~/User/ folder, proceed to Step 4.)
    Next launch the Terminal application.
    At the command line, paste the following command line: chflags nohidden ~/Library/
    Go to /Users/youruserid/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Get info on the ~/Adobe folder and reset your permissions to read/write and apply to all enclosed folders
    Problem solved. RR

    I am using IE 7.0 (although I've tried in another machine with IE 6.0 and got the same results)
    Message is:
    Error Page
    "An internal error occurred. Please contact your site admin for assistance".
    So I can click on Email Marketing under Admin, and create, edit users... What I still cannot do is to setup the Email.
