Memory called full issue

I have a MicroSD card in my phone and sometimes when I open the camera it'll say "Memory card full, switch memory?" or something like that. The file manager says 900MB free.
Any way to fix this?

1. Please re-confirm that ure Camera storage points at Memory Card and not Phone Memory.
2. Please refer my write ups on memory card, this applies not only on startup issue, but also SD/SDHC card issue /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&view=by_date_ascending&message.id=186685#M186685

  • Memory almost full issue

My memory is almost full and I regularly perform disk clean-up and defragments.  I also deleted any unused programs and performed a shadow copy (reduced to 500MB).
I only have 23 GB left.  How can I greatly increase the capacity of C: without having to do a format/restore?

One quick thing you can do is to limit how much space System Restore will use. See this:
    http://lifehacker.com/254365/vista-tip--reduce-system-restore-disk-usage
By default it is taking up 15% of your drive and it is probably full. Back it off to a couple gigs as outlined in the link above.
You can also reduce the size of the swap file. Modern computers with 4 or more gigs of RAM do not need to have a swap file the same size as memory. You can cut the swap file in half or even down to a gig.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-virtual-memory-size#1TC=windows-7
Set the minimum and maximum swap (paging file) size the same-say 1024 mb or 2048 mb which is plenty. It is an old performance trick that is still worth doing.
Other than that, you have to remove actual data files particularly videos which can take up a lot of room.

  • "Blackberry message memory is full!" when it's not - please help!

    Hello,
I wonder if anyone could help me please. I have a Curve 9360 (OS 7.1.0.336) that I've only owned for a few months. About a week ago, out of the blue, I started to get the message: "Blackberry message memory is full! Please delete some sms messages". I know the memory isn't full for three reasons -
    Firstly because I have plenty of memory left on the phone;
    Secondly because I can send as many messages as I want and make them as long as I want - so I am actually increasing the overall amount of messages. The message only pops up when I try to receive a message, and only by deleting received messages will it let another one through;
Thirdly because I can, for example, delete a text message that is 1 message long (in the first 160 characters) and receive one that is 7 messages long (the limit for blackberry sms). So in this sense I am also actually using more memory.
This seems like a glitch to me, but I have no idea how/why it arose, or any idea how to fix it.
I have tried a battery pull, which didn't do anything.
Thank you very much in advance for any help!

  • Out of memory is full error

I am using SE to export 4 channels of 1M samples. It works OK on the first gourp of 5 but I got a "LabView memory is full" error while less than 1Gb of memory is alocated.
VI "csd_subDataTypeAsyncInvokeC,nd.vi:1" was stopped at node "" At a call to "csd_mxwCopyStringToClipboard.vi:2"
System is using 59% of 8GB. There should be plenty of ram for this. This was the 6th export. It acts l.ike the memory is not being released from the previous export. I closed signal express and reopened the project and exported the 6th file without any problems. I did another set off 11 with no errors.
I installed 3.0 last Friday. This is the 3rd time this week to have this error.

    HI John,
Sorry this took so long. I thought I had responded to this and was waiting for an answer... Looks like my response did not make it to the system.
    1. I am exporting to Excel 2007
    2. I had been able to export with no problem until I installed 3.0, 2.5.1 worked fine.
    3. "Can you upload a simplified version of your code so we can take a look at it?" No, there is no code. I recorded a sample, expand the log, right click on voltage, and export to Excel.
    4. I do not think this is a setup problem; it works fine more than 90% of the time. 3.0 has never given me a problem in the first 10 exports.  2.5.1 Never had this problem.
    5. With 2.5.1 an export of more than Excel's max rows gives a message that the rows past max rows would not be exported. 2,000,000 rows did not stop the export
    6. The error occurred when SE had less than 1 GB of memory allocated. I have never seen more than 1 GB allocated to SE.
    7. There were more than 5GB of memory free, most of which could have been allocated.
    8. I get the out of memory error almost every day.
9 if you ask me to call next time I get the error it may never error again.
     Thank you,
    John

  • "Memory nearly full" on E61 when trying to open a ...

When trying to open a pdf document (email attachment) I got the message "Memory nearly full. The list of
documents last opened will be displayed".
I tried to free up some memory, but when checking, I learnt that there was space to waste in my phone memory. The document
itself wasn´t big, either, less than 200kb.
Nevertheless, I couldn´t open the pdf document and I couldn´t move it to the memory card, either.
Does anybody have an idea what I can do to free up the necessary space to open that darn document? I assume
that the emails in my inboxes somehow clog up the memory, but it´s quite difficult to delete any of those and
there´s no option to clear any cache space or something.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi rollerblade,
ok, thanks! I also "solved" the problem by just viewing that document on my laptop and deleting it from the phone ;-)
I remember somebody raised the issue here that N-Series phones seem to be supported quite well by Nokia, other than E-Series phones although those are also intended for Business users.
Well, the problem will be past soon for me - the company is buying phones with Windows Mobile Let´s see how that performs as opposed to Symbian...

  • Memory is full

Olá, eu gostaria de ajuda para solucionar um erro num VI.
Eu estou tentando ler dados de 7 entradas analógicas com amostragem de 25k em cada canal e à uma taxa de 150k, com amostragem contínua. A placa utilizada é a NI USB 6259.

  • Iphone 6 call quality issue....

Hi, yesterday i saw software update in my iphone 6 and i thought it will solve the call quality issue , but unfortunately it was not for that.
Dear iphone support , the call quality in iphone 6 is really bad, I was using iphone 4S and that had great voice quality. iphone 6 voice during call is not clear , it has noise .
When I told my friends about the problem , they told me that I might have bought the refurbish phone. But I bought it from Dubai in 750 USD and I do not think it would be the case.

Since my iPhone 6 has great Call Quality,
My tip would be to take it to an Apple shop. All apple Products have world wide warranty.
If it is really they should be able to fix it.
    Hope this helps,

  • I am trying to restore my phone but everyone I go to do it, it goes to Update which takes 2 and a half hours, and everytime it fails. Ive tried four times now. I'm trying to restore because it says my memory is full, when it is not. I'm so frustrated.

I am trying to restore my phone, but when i go to do it on iTunes, it Updates to 4.3.3 however everytime the 2 and a half hour update finishes, it FAILS. So the update fails, and the restore fails. Its happened 4 ties.
Im trying to restore my phone, because it says my memory is full when its not and an online solution says to restore. I cant restore because it wont let me update.
Im so frustrated, i cant take any pictures, download any music or apps, and its really getting me down. Please can someone help.

This error generally indicates a hardware failure.  Bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • How do you "pause" an open application, like Mac automatically does when the memory is full?

How do you "pause" an open application, like Mac automatically does when the memory is full?
I would like to do so proactively when I am not using a certain program but need to keep it open, and I want to free up computer resources.
In other words, I want to keep a given program open, but stop it from "thinking".

There is an application that I can only open a set number of times before it expires.  Every time the program closes, you get one less use out of it.  I want to use it as long as possible, so I thought I would just keep it open all the time.  However, it consistently turns on the fan on the computer, so I imagine it uses a lot of resources.  I got the idea after the Force Quit program "paused" it once after getting overloaded with all the apps I had open.  It stopped the fan, and I was able to open it and run it again later with no problems.  The tricky thing with trying to intentionally overload the system is that it's a hit or miss on which open program the OS will pause (to my knowledge).

Ok when you refer to "memory" that is the Random Access Memory which is temporary memory the processor (worker) uses to store stuff while it's using it. Power goes off whats in the memory is gone.
Your storage drive is where data is pernamnetly stored if the power is on/off.
So what you really mean to say is your storage drive is filled up and you need to make some room.
You have a TimeMachine drive, what this does is makes a image of your internal storage drive as a backup method, it also allows some "back in time" restoration of your previous deleted files depending how much space is on that drive. The more space, the less data you have, the more days you can go back in time to retrieve something.
Unfortunatly the TimeMachine drive is not a extra space storage drive, it automatically rotates what appears on your internal storage drive. So if you delete something from the internal drive, it eventually gets deleted from the TimeMachine drive.
So you need to make some more room on your internal drive, this is rather easy, all you need is ANOTHER external drive and connect it to the Mac. Give it a name like ExtraStorage#1 and thenyou will have to decide which of your User files you really don't need on the internal drive.
For instance the best choice would be to move some movies out of your Movies folder to another MoviesExtra folder on the ExtraStorage#1 drive.
Movies take a LOT of drive space and you can always copy them on or off, or watch them from the ExtraStorage#1 drive as well. But if your going to do this a lot, you should consider getting a Firewire 800/400, USB 3,2,1 combination drive as Firewire 800 is fastest and decently priced (Thunderbolt is very high priced and overkill at this time)
The other things like Documents are quite small, Pictures can take a lot of space if you have a lot, but if you need them on the internal drive then that's better. Music one tends to use a lot or manage playlists and such, but perhaps some music you may which to move off or "prune", I suggest always burning data DVD's of music especially for extra backups.
Once you have freed some room on the internal drive, this liitle neat program will show you what is taking the largest amount of space on your internal drive.
    http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/
After a scan, right click on the big squares to "revel in Finder" to show you what's taking the largest amount of space, be warned it also opens up hidden system files and folders, which you won't be able to move. So concentrate on what's inthe Users folder.
Likely if you have a lot of Movies this is the biggest culprit on most standard internal hard drives. Also if you have something in iTunes that's auto-downloading something like PodCasts and not deleting the older ones and you forget. So go there and fix things and that can free up drive space.
If you bought a small SSD with your new Mac, then the price of that SSD has come back to haunt you with low storage space, you will have to think carefully what you can live without on the internal drive.
Once you have slimmed things down, TimeMachine will update to reflect your slimmer internal drive. What this means is there is only one copy of your data on the ExtraStorage#1 drive.
You need to maintain two copies of your data at all times on seperate hardware, so now you need ANOTHER storage drive (ExtraStorage#2) to copy everythinng of ExtraStorage#1, or else if you drop or have a mechanical problem with ES#1 all that data will be gone!

  • Remote lock & Memory card corrupted issue

Remote lock & Memory card corrupted issue
    Hi Dear Friends,
You might have experienced the "Memory card corrupted issue."
Don't panic! The solution is here!
Your memory card is just 'locked', it isn't 'corrupted'!
For sure, this post would be of great help to you, if:
    • You have enabled the "Remote lock" feature of your Nokia device.
    • You have sent the remote lock message to your device and locked it remotely.
Finding the solution really took me a lot of time. I was inspired by various posts on the Discussion, and decided to find the official notes on the issue. So would like to thank those who shared their tips, and helped us solve this problem.
I'm using E66, (you might use something else), and would refer to E51's and E65's User guide so often.
Of course, I'm not going to explain the instructions, and recommend you to refer to your user guides when needed.
On the contrary, I'm going to explain what may not be mentioned in your user guides.
    Let’s Begin
    What Has Happened:
In short, you attempted to test the feature, your phone was locked, you keyed in the lock code, code was accepted, you used the phone for a while, switched it off, powered it on, you were prompted the Lock code, you keyed in the lock code, code was accepted, you attempted to view some stuff that was on your memory card, you didn't find it, you tried to run a program that was installed on your memory card, the program icon didn't open, you put the memory card in the card reader and connected it to PC, it was not detected, you went to Menu> Tools> Memory card> You saw "Memory card corrupted"!
Don't, don't select the Yes selection key if you got the caution message, "Memory Card corrupted, reformat it?" because your memory card isn't corrupted, it's simply being locked!
But you can't find the unlock memory card command in Menu> Tools> Memory card> Options.
    So? What to DO?
    1. (This step is optional) Disable the Remote lock feature.
(Refer to your user guides) and change Allow Remote Lock> to no.
Then, while the unit is on,
    2. Press the power key briefly, and select Remove memory card.
    3. Remove the memory card from the slot.
    4. Press OK if prompted.
    5. Reinsert the memory card in the slot.
    6. Reopen Menu> Tools> Memory card.
Is your memory card detected? If yes!
    7. Follow tips number 2 & 3 of What to Know section below.
Did you get "Password removed" message?
If no, be careful of the case of the first character.
If you had changed the Remote lock message many times, use the one that was practically sent to the device via text message.
. In case you had set a password on your memory card before, you may also attempt to unlock the locked memory using your own password, not the first eight characters of the remote lock message.
Step seven would make the memory card detectable to the connected card reader to the PC too.
    8. The memory card is detected temporarily, but it is locked and the "memory card corrupted" issue reappears every time you switch off/on the phone, unless you successfully complete step seven.
    What to Know?
    Official User guide Tips:
    1. Remote locking also locks your memory card. (E51 page100)
. Yes, the one mobile phone that sends your device the predefined remote locking message, receives the confirmation message in response, indicating, "Mobile telephone and memory card are locked". But it isn't written in E66's and E65's.
    2. To unlock the memory card, select Menu> Tools> Memory> Options> Remove password, and "enter the remote locking message as the password". (E51 page100)
. Yes, quite clear, but the quoted part ("enter the remote locking message as the password") isn't written on my E66's User guide, and there's a vague precaution on E65's, (refer to number 4).
    3. If the message is longer than 8 characters, the first 8 characters are used as the memory card password. (E51 page100)
. Yes, quite clear good E51, but I don't own you; I have E66 your little sister. I owe my memory card's survival to nice users on the Discussion.
    4. The maximum number of characters allowed is 8. Using more than 8 characters could prevent unlocking the memory card and require reformatting it. If reformatting the memory card is required, all information on the card will be lost. (E65 page28)
. Quite interesting, but it contradicts what good E51 says in number three¡!
. And it contradicts my own experience of the issue (and some other users' on the Discussion) too, since my E66's memory card accepted the 'first eight characters' of the 'ten-character long’ remote lock message that I had previously used to remote lock it.
. The first three tips are quite important and shouldn't have been excluded from E66's and E65's user guides. I don't have the time to download and review all the user guides that support this feature, but at least I read some user manuals and also got the impression (from the posts on the discussion) that there had been not enough information on E66's, E65's, E71's, N96's, and some others.
You may like to do a simple search on Google:
"The first 8 characters are used as the memory card password" site:nokia.com
Since the content of the user guides on the server seem not be searchable for any reason, you won't find any official support result except those of the good users on the Discussions. And the 'Nokia Site Search" brings no result too. (At least on the date of this post).
¡ Terribly sorry for those who have selected Yes to the Reformat caution message. It wasn't your fault. But there's an idiom that says, sleep on it! "Think about it for a while before coming up with a decision".
But now that you have tested the feature and know its solution, don't be afraid, and enable the Remote lock feature again! God forbid, but it may be needed one day!

Dear, I guess, / This article doesn't suit your case. / • You have not enabled the "Remote lock" feature of your Nokia device. / • You have not locked your device remotely. / Because you don't know where the remote lock is and haven't played with its settings. / You need to explain what has happened. / The only thing we get is that your memory card doesn't open. / 1. your phone model, e.g., 5130. / 2. What did you do recently that might have caused this issue? / 3. What methods did you try to unlock it? / Use some of the tips provided above. (except number 1). / Yours

  • Storage Memory is full & shouldn't be

Back on News Year Eve my iPhone 4 (16GB) crashed after shooting a 3 minute video. I kind of knew why, because the memory was full with a buttload of photos and videos that I hadn't bothered off loading yet. When my iphone rebooted and I went to photo gallery up popped up a message about rebuilding the gallery library or the likes. After it did that, about 80% of my photos and videos were missing! Ultimately, I had to use a 3rd party app to recover all those photos and videos.
Then I went and deleted every image and video from my iPhone. But in iTunes it still said 3.5GB was taken up by photos. But there weren't any photos. Since then, I've tried doing a full restore twice to my iPhone 4 but it still thinks that 3.5GB is taken up by photos. Right now I have 65 photos and two videos consisting of about 2 minutes that I've taken.
I have 3.4GB of music, 0.10 of video, 5.3gb of Apps, 1.86 of Other and that adds up to 10.66GB yet it tells me I only have 0.10GB of free space.
Does anyone know how to free up that big chunk of lost storage?
P.S. ~ My iPhone has never been jailbroken. If that matters to anyone.

So if I go with the software restore without backup, the only way to get my apps back is to download each one at a time?
All of your apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer. After restoring, you sync your phone and the apps as well as any music/media will sync back you your phone - no need to re-download them
    What about any in-app purchases?
    Sorry, all gone
I'll lose all my hard work on Angry Birds too? ...sniff...sniff...
    Yup.
Anything else you foresee I'd lose permanently?
Text messages. Camera Roll photos and videos not synced to your photo app on your PC.
Is there really no way to wipe out the photo data but keep the apps and iphone data?
Unfortunately, there's no way to isolate the corrupted metadata giving the spurious space utilization by photos from the rest of the backup.
The only other possibility is that you're tying to sync more photos/videos than were previously on the phone, and that you actually have used up all available space.
