I guess I installed something I shouldn't have. So I have a idea where all the themes are on the phone, but what folder hold all the programs. I need to delete that folder and start over from there? O can't even boot up my phone when my cards in there now.
I'll just delete all the folders in the private folder for now.

  • Cleaning memory card

So my Nokia E71 got **bleep**ed up and Straight Talk replaced it.  I put my old memory card into my new phone.  Whenever I turn it on it starts to install something...  then ends up saying "Untrusted software on memory card.  Go to application manager to install"
There are old apps I had installed on my old phone in the app manager that I can't remove, and I think this may be the problem.  when I try to remove them it says it failed.  I can't see those apps in the OS or use them.  They just appear as installed in the app manager.  What do I do??

  • Nokia 5800 missing personal files on memory card

    Good day everyone!
I have a problem with my new nokia 5800. A month ago, i lost some of my pictures, which are saved in my memory card. I just ignore it thinking that somebody from my frends just deleted it. After a week, all of the videos, which i took, were all missing.. I was so **bleep** of. A while ago, an application that i downloaded from the net was also lost.. Im so frustrated about this.. Please kindly help me on this one.
Your response is highly appreciated. (n_n)

this seems to be a problem of a common virus as the 5800 is generally doing well except for some performance hogs.
@chan chan, there is absolutely no use when you use a PC antivirus to kill a 5800 symbian's virus. there are s60 antivirus out there, but i recommend you do a hard-reset of your phone by holding
"green" + "red" + "camera key"(full press) all simultaenously while powering on the device.do not leave the power key also till u see "NOKIA" on the screen.before doing this, remove the memory card from the phone and format it on the PC.after the phone starts factory-fresh, insert the formatted card.it should work fine now.also update to the latest v31 firmware.
remember to backup your contacts and other phone-memory data as hard reset wipes-clean all data, but do not use the "backup phone" option as it uses memory card.better sync contacts with other phone or PC
It's not always about KUDOS, but to make people happy with their Nokia. get the most of your Nokia. And be happy with what u get ......yet, please dont forget to press KUDOS if my post helped to solve your problem kudos=Rep++

  • N97 and memory card?

well i've got a N97 to try out for a couple of weeks and thought setting it up would be a quick exercise but its not to be. i thought after backing up my n95, all i'd need to do is pop the memory card into the 97 and do a restore, but this didn't seem possible, it seems unable to read the card. does it need formatting so the n97 can read/write to it?
i'm just transfering all my music i have on my card to the phone via windows media player and i'm going to be here hours! (i couldn't figure out how to do it with the nokia software)!
    Nexu 5

The card doesn't need to be set up differently. I'm using the card out of my N95 (although admittidly I did format it to keep things nice and clean). I did notice however that the folder structure seems to be the same as on the N95.
Things don't just "restore" themselves however. Music should appear in the Music Player after refreshing your library but applications won't normally re-install themselves - hey it's S60 5th edition on the N97 anyway so not all your S60 3rd edition apps will work now.
There's a good application called "Switch". Have a look on your N95 under Tools -> Utilities.
You can use Switch to copy over all your contacts, messages calendar entries etc. which is what I did when I got my N97 - it works a treat.
If you're still having a problem with music however then try refreshing your music library from within the options in Music Player...
    Good luck!

  • N97 memory card. big problem

Hi all, I have the latest firmware installed on my N97, but after the latest upgrade (clean install was done, mass mem refromatted, hard reset,  etc') On checking over the phone I started getting messages that the Mass mem' was full (rubbish) I eventually traced it to my 8 gig mem' card, cos after this was removed the phone worked perfectly again, I tried reformatting the card via the pc , same problem when the card was put back in, tried a brand new card , same problem, lastly tried a known working 4 gig mem' card, same problem???? anyone have ANY  idea whats happening here?  and how to fix this???
    Regards to all..........

I forgot to say that I get the message thet the memory card is corrupt but it is not, as I have tried 3 different cards (working ok ijn other phones) all reformatted to fat 32 and each time a card is inserted the phone slows down and displays the message that mass mem' is full and on checking the card I get "card is corruupt" message!

  • N97 memory card, help?

Below is a relisting of a current problem I have not managed to fix yet !
Hi all, I have the latest firmware installed on my N97, but after the latest upgrade (clean install was done, mass mem refromatted, hard reset,  etc') On checking over the phone I started getting messages that the Mass mem' was full (Not so) I eventually traced it to my 8 gig mem' card, (is coming up with the message that the memory card is corrupt, I have now tried 3 different mem' cards) cos after this was removed the phone worked perfectly again, I tried reformatting the card via the pc , same problem when the card was put back in, tried a brand new card , same problem, lastly tried a known working 4 gig mem' card, same problem???? anyone have ANY  idea whats happening here?  and how to fix this???
    Regards to all..........

Do you get the option to format it by following my steps above?
If you do, format it and turn off your phone. Pull out the battery for at least 5 minutes before putting it together and turning it on again.
The phone should rebuild folders on it, and hopefully everything should be fine.
If your phone still rejects your memcard by giving you error messages - it could be that the fw on your phone make it go corrupt, or there is an trouble with hardware parts.
I would try to reinstall the fw first before I do anything else.

Iphoto won't recognize my memory card anymore (since a month ish?) but the mac itself does and puts the icon on the desktop.  How do I get it to recognize it again?

Thank you so much for responding.  I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key.  In addition, it was running much slower.  Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect.  This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key.  Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
Again, thanks so much for your suggestions.

  • Really anooying memory card/gallery problem nokia ...

    Hey guys
this is the 3rd time this has happened since i got my new nokia n73
i read some reviews about the nokia n73 and the cons are that its sometimes slow and lags.
Well after i take a video or photo and i hit the red end call button ( it works just when i cancel out not just on that button )
And then go into gallery to see the image/video i took there is nothing on my memory card. its like it format itself. Theres no images/videos/songs. All gone.
The phone is picking up the memory card but not whats on it
I got a 1gb mini sd why does it do this? i try turning off phone and taking out card but i dont see whats wrong
Im about to connect phone to pc to see if pc picks up stuff on card but it looks like it formatt it self.
Thanks in advance i appreciate it
PS another problem, when i turn phone off it doesnt completely turn off, the screensaver of the time and date comes on with a white backround and wont turn off and on it seems frozen.
im disappointed of this slow laggy phone. only downside to it
thanksMessage Edited by jamezy2007 on 24-Sep-200708:05 AM

That is because of gallery database error.
    Try this trick: /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=54784&page=1
If it fails, then a hard reset is the next solution probably. Get the backup of phone memory through PC Suit to your PC as the hard reset will clean the phone memory data like contacts, messages etc.
Check if your phone's SW is lates or not:*#0000#.

  • Music files deleted from Memory Card..(5800XM)

    Hi..
I have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Music files used to get deleted earlier automatically from the music player, but this problem stopped for a while. The other day, I transferred about 20 songs to my phone via Mass Storage mode through my PC. After a couple of days, all those 20 songs are missing from my music player. They've disappeared from the Memory Card as well, leaving behind only the folder in which they were.
Please help. This is REALLY annoying.

Yes, may be you are right. Something was wrong with my memory card and i figured out this morning. its an 8gb card out of which my personal data was about 4 gb. yet i could see that almost 7gb was used and only about  0.5gb was free. what i did was that i pulled all my data out of the  mem card and found that still 3gb was used up. hmmm...this was very weird. Not too sure but i guess it may be occupied by .arc files which are created when i do backup on the memory card. This was leaving very little space on my mem card , so whenever new data was added to the card, it was flushing out some existing data randomly (which is actually very sick!).
So, i removed all my personal data from card and then formatted it. Now my card is clean and has lot of free space. Hopefully the problem won't repeat anymore.
Its actually quite annoying that data is deleted randomly without prompting that disk has run out space. quite weird actually.
    List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).

  • Unable to import masters from a memory card

    Hi,
As always I wanted to add a new project with incrementally new RAW files from my SD memory card. I have the photo management system the image master files (RAWS) are stored in Pictures folder on the HDD. The import dialogue enables to select a destination folder to Pictures as usual, but it doesn't show Move or Copy files option anymore. Without this, it just imports images as referenced images to the ones placed on the memory card, which I subsequently can't format, because, I'd lost all the photos. Move or Copy files option shows up when I pick other import source than memory card, eg. my HDD. I tried everything, can't figure this out. I find Aperture unreliable now and will move to Adobe Lightroom, if won't find a solution. Can you please help me on this one? Thanks.
    Kind regards,
    Unge
Mid-2009 Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.3, Aperture 3.5.1

    No problem
Let me put it this way. I want the Pictures folder to be my master library. When importing from a memory card, I'd like to:
    1) Select a subset of images, which are new since last import (via "Do not import duplicates")
    2) Create new project with timestamp = new Pictures subdolder and physically copy selected images (originals) from the card to the respective subfolder.
    That is what Aperture does.
I just tried again these settings:  It does not matter that the "Move, copy" buttons are not shown, because Aperture will always copy from a card.
With these settings Aperture will create a folder in Pictures named "2014- 06-04" or similar and copy all imported images to this folder.  Isn't this what you want to do?
    2) Create new project with timestamp = new Pictures subdolder and physically copy selected images (originals) from the card to the respective subfolder.
I want to clean install the OS and the app (with loosing all the ratings, places, versions...) just as a last option.
In Aperture 3.5.1 the import is handled slightly different from previous versions. You will not get the old behaviour back reinstalling either OS or Aperture.
But even reinstalling Aperture and MAcOS X will not erase your ratings, Faces, etc., since these Metadata are stored in the Aperture Library and not in the Aperture application.

  • When copying raw files from Extreme IV card to hardrive, finder copies a few files then exits task and wipes the card clean of all images.

When copying raw files from Extreme IV card to hardrive, finder copies a few files then exits task and wipes the card clean of all images.  Have tried new card and card-reader to no avail.  Have done this many times on other macs with no problems.
Can edit files off the card, in CameraRaw, prior to 'copying' them, ie can 'save as' to the hard drive, so files seem okay on card, before I try to copy them using copy and paste.
Running OS 10.8.3 on a new macbook pro.

    Rita,
The process for determining what is causing the files to be corrupt can be a tedious one depending on the following:
    1. Can you review the images on your camera's LCD screen without problems? If not then the problem is most probably either a corrupted/faulty memory card or a faulty camera. If this is the case then your best bet at recovery (of sorts) is to use a program such as BrezzeBrowser from BreezeSys to extract the embedded jpeg versions of the corrupted RAW files from within each RAW file. Chances are, you won't manage to actually repair the corrupted RAW file but the jpegs are better than nothing.
    2. If the images review ok on your camera but are corrupted when viewing on your computer and there seems to be no other problem with other files on your computer then it may be either a faulty card reader or usb/firewire cable between the card reader and the computer that is the culprit. Try the card reader with a different cable and also try a different card reader to determine the cause of the corruption.
    3. If your symptoms are that you get different files corrupting over time when viewing them on your computer then the problem may be any one of either failing RAM memory, hard disk, hard disk controller or IDE/SATA hard disk cables. This is where the troubleshooting can be pretty tedious testing then eliminating each item from the list of suspicious pieces of hardware. Try the card and card reader on an altogether different computer to see if the files transfer correctly to that computer. If so then the problem lies with your computer hardware. If you haven't already done so at this stage, backup all your important data immediately (hopefully you keep backs anyway).
    Hope this helps.

  • Why PCI reflective memory card can not be detected?

It was confusing when I use a VISA Find Source node to detect instruments connected to my computer. A VMIC's reflective memory card----VMIPCI5565---can not be found while it could function well with its  own exacutable programme borned with driver. What's more worse,a VXI structure that copmosed of a HPE8491 0-slot controller and a HPE1412 Multi-Meter did not turn up either. And the VXI structure is connected with computer by a IEEE--1394 adapter which was ploted in a PCI slot.
SO , it is the problem related to hardware or some others? How to find the instruments that are un-NI products?

There seems to be application clashes to use the device whenever connected.

  • "Memory Card Corrupted" - Error Help!!!

Hi, I have a Nokia 6210 Navigator, and my memory card suddenly stopped working when I was opening a file. A message came up "Memory Card Corrupted". When I went into File manager, it showed my memory card as not there (grayed out). When I tried to explore it within my phone, there was no option to format, and there was a message "Memory Card Corrupted" on the screen.
When I connected my phone via Mass Storage Mode, it showed it as a drive, though when I tried to open it, it said "Insert a disk into I:\". It does not show up in Disk Management or CMD, and when I tried to format or run Check Disk, it would not run - "Drive not Ready". When I connected it into PC Suite Mode, I could perform a backup, though when I checked it could only backup my Phone Memory, not the card. The other modes don't work either.
I have tried many different softwares to try and backup/recover my data, and to try and format it, though that didn't work either
I have tried restarting my phone many times, but that didn't work either.

no other way to fix it unfortunately. unless you want to go to the trouble of taking your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre, where they will probably do the same thing anyway and you will still have to setup all your applications etc again. those messages are due to the phone thinking that the memory card isn't inserted when it is, so obviously it is a phone problem. another suggestion would be to check that the memory card is inserted correctly and to clean the contacts for the memory card (i.e. gently blow out the dust with a deep breath). if the card is the default one that came with the phone in the box, its most likely the Nokia one. i have the feeling they're manufctured under licence by SanDisk anyway.
yes, firmware updates can bring advantages such as bug fixes, new features and improved battery life. it is generally recommended to keep the phone up to date anyway to ensure its longevity and increased reliability and security. i know its a pain, but you will have to do the hard reset now that you have backed up all your data. let us know how it goes.
if you could, please throw some kudos our way, it would mean a lot to us

  • Formatting Memory Cards

    Phone is 5800 Xpress
When formatting a memory card , applications installed on the card itself will no longer be accessable
Is that equal to uninstalling each app using the traditional uninstall methods
    Thanks

    No.
When you uninstall an application, the files making up the application are indeed removed, as are other pieces of information in the phone's settings sorted on C:.
If you just reformat the memory card, you will be removing the application's files, but you will be leaving the other information in the phone's settings intact, thus orphaning it in a sense.
If you want to format a memory card containing applications then uninstall those applications first. This is the "cleaner" way of going about it.
