Memory Card Problem plus loads more

Hi I have had my phone  5230 for 3  weeks now, so am getting around it ok but must be still doing loads wrong as i am having a tonne load of problems.
Problem 1)       Have inserted an 8Gb card, but when i try to open any apps or download any i am told that i do not have enough memory on C file to move or delete, why doesn't it go to my memory card (memory card new still have about 6gb left on it). Cannot install anything.
Problem 2)       Relates to problem 1, trying to download ovi map updates am told i do not have enough memory, i have deleted everything i possibly can, if it's an update why doesn't it overwrite.
Problem 3)    On trying to upload new Nokia software have entered the *#0000# on my phone
pressed options, clicked check for updates, does the usual checking, tells me to sign in and do password, then tells me it doesn't match, done this about 5 times, thought it was me, but as i am posting this and able to sign on via my computer using the same sign in and password it is not. (Please do not come back to me with"ckeck u are signing in with right details, I am).
I love the look but as i am not able to use the phone to it's full potential am getting a bit fed up with it, have reverted back to my old sony eriksson, may buy new xperia instead.

1.Remember to Clear browser's cache
2.if you have Opera Mobile installed, Clear Cache
3.check your "Images" "Sounds" "Videos" folder on Phone memory, if something is stored there move it to Memory Card.
4; If u r using "Ovi Music" app, Clear Cache, Options>clear cache.
For ur 3rd problem;
You don't need Password and login Id to check for updates.

  • Memory leak problems with loading videos over and over.

    I'm having memory leak problems with loading videos into a VideoPlayer aswell as FLVPlayback.
    What the flash should do:
    - Should be running for 7 days without having to restart the projector.
    - Interface that shows people around a 360 3D model with 5 different parts and at the stops it makes during the rotation you can click to zoom in on a location which plays a movie for that aswell.
    - Shows a video out of 5 parts for a 360 rotation in 3D in mp4 video (added each time and cleaned up, see code below).
    - Still images are used when the video clips are done playing (MovieClip in stage).
    - Should run automatically when there is no user interaction for X minutes.
    What the problem is:
    - The flash (as a exe and swf i guess) starts to consume memory over time (say 10 hours) until the projector crashes. This usually at around 1.75 GB of memory.
    I cannot see why the Flash cannot garbage collect this and free up the memory. Mabye there is something I don't understand about the garbage collection in flash?
    Here is some code from the video loading and playing:
    var fVideo:VideoPlayer;
    VideoCreate();
    function VideoReady(pEvent:VideoEvent):void
    trace("VideoReady()");
         // start playing video
    fVideo.play();
    function VideoLoad(pUrl:String):void
         trace("VideoLoad(" + pUrl +
         VideoCreate();
         if (pUrl != "")
              if (fVideoFolder + pUrl == fVideo.source)
                   fVideo.seek(0);
    VideoReady(null);
              } else {
    trace(fVideo.state);
                   if (fVideo.state !=
    VideoState.DISCONNECTED) fVideo.stop();
    fVideo.close();
    fVideo.load(fVideoFolder + pUrl);
         } else {
    // error no url
    function VideoCreate():void
         trace("VideoCreate()");
         // remove old one
         if (getChildAt(0) == fVideo)
              removeChildAt(0);
         fVideo = new
    VideoPlayer(1024, 768);
         addChildAt(fVideo, 0);
         fVideo.autoRewind = false;
    fVideo.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, VideoDonePlaying);
    fVideo.addEventListener(VideoEvent.READY, VideoReady);

    Hmm. It's in connection with Dropbox. Så apparantly you can only use one of the two at the same time if you want the programs integrated in Finder.

  • HOW TO FIX 5610XM Memory Card problem

    Without long introduction I just want to say how to do that, because it is annoying that you just can't use memory card
    So it's really simple, you have problem with memory card it self OR your back cover.
    Back cover has a small plastic thingy witch let's memory card to be readed, If it somehow fails to do it's job, then you have to do it by your self useing something like a isolated wire, to put it in that plastic things place, and then put the back cover on it.
    I finally can use my memory card so I am really happy, and I hope this will helps for you as well :]

    The newer video cards are plug and play.  The only thing that you have to do is install the latest video driver that comes on a DVD with the video card or from the manufacturer's website.
    There are two main things to consider when buying a video card:
    1. The length of the card.  It is important for the card to fit into the space provided and have good airflow.
    2. The wattage required to run the card properly.
    Because of the age of your computer, I believe that the power supply unit (PSU) is either 250W or 300W.  You can find this information by reading the label on it.  Most of the newer cards require at least 400W to run properly.
    One other concern for buying a new video card is, does it require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  I know that the last EVGA video card to work with a standard BIOS is the GT 640.
    Here is a guide that will help you understand how to replace a video card or other Expansion cards.
    If you are not comfortable with working on a computer it would be advisable to find a certified computer repair shop.  It will cost you more money, but will save possible problems.

  • E 72 memory card problem

    I just got a E 72 on contract europian version,
    The phone was supplied with 4 GB memory card but acording to file manager it is full only 929 mb is free space, event this does not actually having more than a few kb's of pre-installed data.
    Few of my friends they also got e 72 on contract from same provider and they also have the same problem in their handset.
    As i was reading reviews, i came to know most of the E72 users are facing same problem. what do i need to do now.

    Hi.  I just suggest delete E:\CITIES, and you will bring back almost 2GB.  It's because Nokia installed all Ovi Maps in the memory, and it uses almost 2GB.  After that, you must use Ovi Suite and install all the maps and voice guidance you will use.  In my case, I live in Venezuela and I travel sometimes to Colombia, so I just installed only the Colombia and Venezuela maps. E:\CITIES is using only 30MB.

  • VIXIA HF G30 Power and Memory Card Problems

    While taking video with my G30 using MP4 at the 35Mbps rate in Sports mode, I have encountered two problems.
    First, it will sometimes stop recording and say that the memory card is not fast enough. I'm using a 64GB PNY Elite Performance SDXC UHS-1 Class 10 90MB/sec card that is plenty fast and should work fine.
    Second, I've had the camera freeze up while recording. When this happens, the red "operation" indicator on the screen starts to flash and I am unable to stop recording. Sometimes, after I stop recording, it will not start again. In one case, I had to turn the camera off to get it back to normal. In another case, even turning the camera switch off did nothing, as the camera stayed on but would not respond. I had to remove the battery to get it to turn off.
    Canon's response was as follows:
    "I believe the memory card may be the cause of this issue. The PNY Elite Performance memory card, while fast enough, also incorporates the UHS-1 standard, which is not supported by this camcorder. I recommend trying a second memory card without the UHS-1 designation."
    However, I checked the Canon list of tested memory cards, and many of them use the UHS-1 standard, so that does not sound like a valid issue.
    Has anyone else had similar issues?

    Update. I bought and used the Sandisk Extreme 32GB cards (45 MB/s) that are recommended by Canon. Unfortunately, I still received some memory save errors due to inadequate speed, although they have been much less frequent. So, the memory card is probably the likely cause for this issue.
    However, I also still had the camera freeze up on me again, which required me to remove the battery. So, I returned the camera and ordered a replacement because I didn't want to find out later that I just happened to get a clunker. The new camera also gave me a couple of memory save errors with the Sandisk memory cards. Eventually, this camera also froze up on me, so apparently this issue may be a more widespread problem with the camera software, not a specific problem with the hardware.
    I'm pretty sure that every time it froze up I was using the 3 second pre-record feature. I really like the feature since it ensures that I will not miss any action even if I start the camera later than I should. However, if this is causing the problem, I will have to live without it. I have since used the camera for about six hours worth of video recording with no further problems.
    I would recommend that Canon do some more testing, because I suspect that something in the pre-record function is causing intermittent problems. I will provide any updates if it happens again, but I am reluctant to try the pre-record feature again.

  • Help! nokia 6300 memory card problem

    i bought sd 2gb memory card and it won't let me download more than 500 mb onto it! the memory status shows that there is plenty left but if i try to download any more - or even move an image from phone to memory card - it tells me that operation failed! i did format the card and it didn't help
    help!

    try to reinstall your current firmware (after backing up all your important data first) or see if there is an update for your 6300 via nokia software updater. but i think there is a problem with your memory card rather than your phone, as can happen with normal USB flash drives when copying files to them, they suddenly give up and start giving strange errors. so maybe try replacing your card with a better quality new one.
    hope this helps

  • Memory card problems pleasr help!

    ive just bought a 6280 and wanted to get more memory. bought a card and assumed that just inserting it would active it. is that the case because nothing has happened and i still have no free space?
    is there something i need to do to active the memory card?
    thanks

    In theory you don't need to do anything. What you do need to do in order to free up some space in the (pathetically small) internal memory is simply move whatever you can over to the miniSD card.
    One thing to bear in mind is the speed of the card. I used to have problems storing photos taken on my 6280 if the card was too slow.

  • Memory card problems please help!

    Ok I've never quite been able to figure this one out, and I figure this is the forum to come to to try and fix it. I have a Canon photo printer with memory card slots I've been using for a while now as a stand alone. Now that I have my iMac I decided to hook it up but here's the problem. When I try to delete selected pictures from a memory card I can't because it's read-only, and I can't change it to read-write. If fact when I connected my camera to my old Windows PC I couldn't do this either. iPhoto asks me after the import if I want to blank out the memory card, but I want to keep certain photos on the card. I just want to go in and delete files like any other USB drive. I tried "Get Info" but there is no way there to change to read-write. This is more of a problem with the memory cards than my printer or iPhoto, but if anyone knows a way around this I'd really appreciate it.

    ... also I've checked the little write-protect tabs, I have 2 SD cards and both are not set to lock and neither lets me A. delete anything or B. put any files back onto them. In my experience it seems that on both Mac and PC they have tried to over-simplify the process of managing digital photos by forcing you to use applications rather than learn simple file management(i.e. cut, copy and paste). I don't know why photos have to be different from every other file type. If I put in my Memory Stick Duo in my PSP and connect with USB I can delete and move whatever I want just like I've always been able to, even photos. It seems that as soon as an SD memory card comes in contact with a camera(mine's a Canon PowerShot) the only way to put anything onto it is to take a picture. Again if anyone knows how to change photo memory cards to read-write status it would be fantastic.

  • N82 Camera & Memory Card Problem

    Hello! After two months of careful operation and having the following problem: when you open the shutter of the camera, blinking charging indicator flashes, then a message "unexpected error occurred. Restart the device." Then, the phone does not "see" the memory card (included with delivery). Additional software is not installed. Resetting factory settings did. Memory card in other phones, Nokia tried it - everything is in order. Please define the problem. According to rumors, this is a common problem with this phone. Sin in the xenon flash. With the patience of waiting for a response.

    Do a nuclear reset then:
    Hold Green button + 3 + *
    Turn on the phone
    Keep on holding the 3 buttons until the shake hands appear.
    Choose your region and that should be done. Your lock code is now should be 12345

  • N82 memory card problem

    Hey guys had my phone since 5th of Jan, has been fine no problems.
    Last night I changed where to store my sent messages to the memory card instead of on the phone.
    After I sent my first message it asked me to remove the memory card and press ok. I thought this was a bit strange but as it wouldn't let me do anything else I did as I was told.
    I replaced the memory card and it carried on working. Now every so often even if the phones keylocked and nothing running it pops up and asks me to remove the memory card. If I leave it and don't remove the card the message goes away.
    This might only be slightly annoying but I have had nokias with software faults before and they start off as annoying and then become serious.
    Any advice?

    No... I should of said the phone changed it back to "store on phone" when it tried to store it on the card and couldn't do.
    So now even when I'm not trying to access the card for any purpose it pops up.
    For example. Left phone on keys locked over night, woke up and checked phone and as soon as I unlocked the keypad the message came up.
    Also when trying out the n-gage demos which as far as I know have nothing to do with the memory card it closed the demo and asked me to remove the card.

  • Nokia 6500 Memory card problem

    When i try to open my mem card it says Memory Card not formatted; Format mem card ?
    after i press yes it says Operation Failed.i tried my mem card on other phone and it worked i also tried other mem card on my phone and i got the same problem... So it's the phone problem
    Anyone can help me ?

    Well, If there are any updates available for your device (look here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update), there could be a slight chance it would work. At least you could try before taking it to a Nokia carepoint. - You could always try to set it back to factory settings too, but I doubt it will be fixed.

  • 6230i memory card problem

    I've recently resurrected my old 6230i and begun using it again. However in doing so I've come across a wee problem.....
    The big memory card that was supplied with the phone and hidden beneath the battery is only 32Mb - hardly sufficient to use the MP3 Player to any great deal. Looking at it I asserted that it was an SD type card and I went and bought myself a 4Gb one to fit in place of the measly 32Mb effort. Imagine my annoyance when, after buying the new memory card I couldn't get it to fit - it's just slightly too thick. On closer inspection I noted that the card I've bought is actually an SDHC card - but surely that shouldn't make any odds? Would it? Do I need to buy a stricly SD card, without the wee HC ad endum? Or, do I need to buy a smaller capacity memory card, possibly a 1Gb or 2Gb, in the hope that it's of equal thickness to the 32Mb one? Or, knowing my luck, am I just doomed not to get a memory card that fits because in actual fact there isn't one, because Nokia have played a huge trick on the unsuspecting 6230i purchasers????
    I await your wisdom dear forum members.
    ps......I humbly apologise if this question has already been asked countless times before!!!
    Kind Regards,
    Paul-D.

    The slot in the phone is for an MMC card. It may look like an SD card but not quite the same. Please do check with the card manufacturer for compatibility before buying. The phone is very old and may have compatibility issues with the higher capacity cards nowadays.

  • Nokia 8gb memory card problem ( semi-empty )

    just had a 5800 two weeks ago with a memory card 8gb, it already had some music but i add my own and other stuff and it was cool, i do this by removing the card from the device and put it in a memory card reader and into the usb, one day which is today, i did this to manage some stuff then what happened, the usb connection was last and back again in one second, so i changed te usb port and put it in another one, then what i found is there is nothing, all files and folders gone, there is only one big dump file has the size of 4gb (the size of all the things that should be), 4gb in one file that has no type or any thing its just a file with 4gb which is the size of the music and videos and the stuff that was in the card, so that means that the files supposed to be in the memory card but its stuck in one file, so whats going one i mean, thats it? all files are gone? and what is that big file? even if i give up the memory card will only have 4gb left cuz the file cannot be deleted or moved, by the way the file name is weird but this is the name: USBC╨†┘à.
    thnx for reading, by the way, the files that was in the memory were very important to me, i spent alot of days collecting those stuff and there are other things such as photos and stuff that i will never had if the memory is gone, when i found out nothing in the memory i lost consciousness for about an hour on the floor.
    waiting for replys

    Hi ,i just encountered this problem while moving files ,all files
    lost except the USBC file from SDHC card.so i ran several recovery
    soft. .nothing works.i have successfully recovered those files .
    use memory card reader.open command prompt,change to that
    drive .use chkdsk /f first .then chkdsk /r.if chkdsk /r ran
    properly (in my case i got read error first ,trying second time it
    shows the progress),it will show chkdsk found no error.
    it will show how much space is taken in how many files and folders
    and how much space is free.in may case it was 615 mb in 136
    recoverable files.yours may be different.in the SDHC there was a
    single file named USBC.Choose option show hidden folders AND show
    system files in explorer menu.there will be a directory named
    "FOUND.000" like that.there will be files that were lost inside it
    with extension CHK.
    in my case i changed their ext. to JPG.i got my files.but
    in your case these files should be renamed according to their
    original name & ext.
