G3 (slot loading) blueberry computer is freezing at startup. Just ran supplied cd "Apple Hardware Test" with a fail memory results - error code mem_/2/3
How do I fix this problem?

Either the RAM is bad or video RAM is bad. Hopefully replacing the RAM will fix the problem.

Exactly. The hard drive is a spinning disk platter inside a rectangular case. What's often confusing is that hard drive uses Random Access Memory (which is also abbreviated RAM) and that can be confused in name only with the RAM boards that you would replace here if the ports for the RAM are not damaged and the RAM board is. The hard drive is where all your data is stored. However, since hard drive failure is always a possibility, backing up your data whenever possible is vitally important as my FAQ states:

Final Cut Pro 6 - 'Out of Memory/Error Code'

Hey All,
I'm in the final stages of editing a documentary and I keep running into an 'Out of Memory' error code in Final Cut Pro 6.0 when trying to export a reference file. The finished film is 81 minutes long and contains 19 sequences. I have all 19 sequences nested in a main sequence of a seperate FCP project file, so I'm not wasting any memory on clips or additional backups of sequences. This Nested sequence is the only sequence that exists in this 'other' project file. All of the photos used are under 4k resolution and are RGB. Even the lower thirds are animation QT's with alphas. Any thoughs would be greatly appreciated.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you may have a corrupt sequence
Try creating a new sequence with the same settings and copy the contents from the problematic sequence
If that doesn't work. Mark an in and an out for the first half of the sequence and do an export. If that works, mark an in and an out for the second half and export. Keep narrowing down the sections til you find the problematic clip.

Memory error code 4MEM/62/

I am using macbook pro 15" early 2011, 16GB RAM, 500 GB harddisk. The problem is the screen turns blue with gray line or distorted, and the system freezes. It happens frequently in both mac os x mountain lion platform or windows 7 bootcamp, using parallel desktop. I have reformated the hard disk and reinstalled the ML and windows 7 through boot camp, but the problem persists. Hardware test conducted, results error code 4MEM/62/40000000: 0x8448b098

One of the RAM modules you added is bad, or not seated correclty.
Return the factory RAM an run another test to rule out the RAM slot itself, then exchange the RAM for a new set.
Do not touch the metal on the RAM modules with your fingers and touch the case to discharge static before handling RAM.

Built-in Memory error code

Mine is a G3 600Mhz, with its original 128 Mb memory. Lately it ran to a kernel panic and hang up. I used the Hardware Check CD, and it showed that the buit-in memory is errored.
I don't have guaranty on my Ibook. So if I want to get it fix, how much it will cost me?
If it is too much, then probably I should let it goes and get a PC laptop (so cheap now).

Was it just one kernel panic? You may be able to limp along with it for awhile if it isn't panicking repeatedly. But it will probably not work very well for very long.
When I need a new Mac, I shop at some of the catalog/online places. Lots of times they will double the original memory for just a $30 or $40 installation fee and offer freebies (cases, printers, etc.) to get you to buy from them. Check out Club Mac, MacMall, MacConnection, and Mac Warehouse. SmallDog.com has some good deals, too, and they will let you customize them if you want a bigger hard drive than is standard. Another place to check is the Apple Special Deals page. You can often find some good prices on refurbished models there.

Hi, I am using Crystal report 8.5,
and have problem on one computer (XP) - i cannot view Report but I can print it. If I use the option to send to the printer then it is going to print it, but other way is producing above error. My application is written in VB 6.0. I have application installed on at least 1000 computer but never had problem like that.
Business Object doesn't give support for Crystal Report 8.5 any more so, if someone out there has any idea how I can solve this issue PLEASE let me know

I have had some serious issues with Kernal Panics of late and I finally got my Hardware Test to work and it came up with this error code

My best guess would be a RAM problem, kernel panic is usually hardware related (but there are drives, cards, peripherals, etc.).
Have you recently added or installed any new components (internal or external)?

Error code and RAM

Hi!
I´m new here, and I´m not sure if I´m in the right forum. I have a G3 iBook, 800 MHz, OS 10.3.9. I purchased extra RAM for it about 6 months ago. I just got a whole bunch of new programs (Adobe CS2), and only trying to install them caused problems. I had other problems before, too. Programs quit unexpected, discs wouldn´t mount... So I backed up all my files and tried to reinstall the system. The computer crashed completely and wouldn´t let me log in. So I took it in for repair and was told that my harddrive broke. Got it replaced, took it home, tried to install my programs...still the same problems. Some don´t install at all, others don´t open or I can´t save anything without crashing the program. So I ran the Apple Hardware Test, which came up with the following error code: mem_/2/3DIMM1/J12. That sounds to me like the RAM that I got about 6 months ago doesn´t work. So I took it in again this morning. They tested the RAM and said it is OK.
So what does that mean? The hardware test shows there is a problem, but the RAM is ok? Could the slot be broken? What exactly does the error code mean?
The guys in the store weren´t very helpful and I just spend $400 on a new harddrive. Anybody any idea what´s wrong with my computer?
Help please! :o)

Yes, you've found the right forum.
Could the slot be broken?
This is a good possibility. Try removing the extra RAM and running with just the 128 MB. It will run pretty slowly that way, but, hopefully, will not crash if it's your RAM or RAM slot gone bad.
To check out the RAM, did you take it to the same shop that replaced your hard drive? If so, has it occurred to you that they may have said the RAM was okay because they don't want to admit they replaced your hard drive needlessly? I would get a second opinion on whether or not the RAM is defective.

Snow Leopard 'error code 50', 'Low Application memory'. Help.

I've been facing **** lot of problems with my MBP of late, and all that I could try have turned unfruitful. I'd appreciate some help.
Problems started when I downloaded and tried to install SL update 10.6.7 on 10.6.6. It was working fine on 10.6.6. The update failed, and I received 'error code 50' very often while deleting files from Trash. Also, 'beach-balling' became more frequent, and I had to force quit applications very often because of 'low application memory' box being displayed.I also encountered the grey screen prompting me to 'press power button till shut down and restart'.
Finally, I tried a clean reinstall but the same problems persisted, and lots of applications stopped working. I could not download files from browser (Low disk space, despite a 100 GB space available on he HD) or save textedit, Office or iWork files. I did a clean reinstall again, with zero-erase option and again downloaded the 10.6.7 combo update. The 'Software Update' application failed. I downloaded the update from my browser and it was installed successfully finally after 4 system restarts, but the 'error code 50' problem still persists.
What am I doing wrong? I've been dealing with this abnormal performance for more than a month. I haven't backed up files because there is no use making a backup of corrupt system. Specs : MBP'09, 13.3". 2.26 GHz, 160 GM, SL 10.6.7.

I tried to run the hardware test by inserting the Applications Install dvd and pressing 'D' just after the chime. It did not run. Nevertheless, the App DVD is ejected every time I insert it in to install some apps, like iLife etc. Running Disk Utility dies not work, as it says the 'disk cannot be mounted'.
I tried another clean reinstall of SL 10.6, and some of the funny stuff are :
1. error code 50 yet again
2. It won't allow me take snapshots, saying 'You do not have permission to save snapshots etc.."
3. Safari cannot download files
4. 'Low Application Memory' message box appeared a few times, prompting me to Force Quit Safari.
Could there be something wrong with the Install DVD? Though Disk Utility First Aid shows error free HD verification.

G4 450 and protools, somehow ran out of memory to startup. Error code 10. Tried turning off extensions to boot but now just locks up as I tried a HD verify/repair and then moved the folder to the desktop screen. cant get it off now.froze.

Ok, I have a Mac g4, os9. ..450 Processor. I Think I upgraded ram, can't remember. Maybe a 512 card. Added an 80 gig internal HD for music storage. Computer was solely used for protools LE 5. I knew I was kinda close on my memory for running the program after recording things with plug ins etc. It was beginning to get slow at startup. Anyway it's been a couple years since I used it. I got it set up yesterday and it wouldn't launch and kept giving me error code 10. So I replaced the battery and tried again. the small finder icon in middle of screen would then pop up and alternate with a "?". Then it would change to a pict of a hard drive disk and then a me alternating "?". It would still give me the error code if I clicked on anything. So I then held down the shift key to turn off extensions as it had mentionEd to do a couple times. Still would give me the error code on my home page. If I tried to get into my hd which is on desktop it would give me the message, but somehow it did open one occasion and I went into it and scrolled to disk verify and repair. Did it. Said things were fine. I then saved the results in a file which was then offered along with location. I chose desktop. Probably really bad idea in hind sight.. It did it, but now no matter if I turn extensions off, the home screen pops up but then goes blank. The hard drive icon along with the new folder, and my protools icon immediately dissapear. And it freezes. at one point a message did pop up saying finder could not start up because there is not enough memory available. I'm not a computer guy. Ive tried finding the guy who helped me set this thing up 10 years ago but to no avail. If I can be guided to somehow uncover some of the unneeded memory usage I would then learn how to more efficiently use it. How the heck do I even start. I can't get to a screen which shows what's eating my computers space to even start getting rid of unneeded stuff. Please help if you can. I have so much to loose if I can't get it to work. Btw...I no longer have the os9 disk. I think it was tossed 10 years ago or more. May not even have my original pro tools disks anymore. Uggh.

Ouch, tough spot, but offhand I'd say some memory may have gone bad, or maybe just needs re-seating after all this time.

HP Pavilion dv6 Vista Recovery - Physical memory dump w/ error code 0x000000F4 (and others)

Hello Everyone,
This is my first time posting in the forums so I hope that I have chosen the appropriate area and will do my best to be brief but informative.
Computer: HP Pavilion dv6000
Operating System: Windows Vista.
For the past 6-8 months it has been unable to perform Windows Update citing that the most likely reason was a virus. I have tried numerous trouble shooting options when it was recommended that I perform a chkdsk. After initiating a chkdsk in Command Prompt, my computer restarted and had a black screen with no cursor. After watching this for 2 hours and realizing that none of the usual chkdsk progress or text was coming up I made the decision to force shut down.
When I rebooted, I was told to enter system recovery which I did and completed a system recovery from the hard drive. After the system recovery finished and the laptop restarted, I experience a Blue Screen of Death due to a physical memory dump. The error codes are STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA8006671040, 0xFFFFFA8006671278, 0xFFFFF80001D01DA0).
I am not able to boot in safe mode. In the start up repair, I am able to enter command prompt from which I started chkdsk again. Both chkdsk f/ and chkdsk r/ passed with no errors. Additionally, the computer passed both UEFI Hard Drive and Memory tests. I have system recovery CDs for the computer but they fail at 78% completion.
Please let me know if you have any questions or require anymore information. I would appreciate any and all advice!

Well I spoke too soon.
The update was successful, but now I cannot connect to the 3GS data network.
Cannot get email and cannot open a page in Safari.
+"Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding."+

Email and internet work fine on WiFi.........no data using 3GS network.
Looks like I will have to revert back to old OS.

Error code 1450 - memory mapped file

Hello,
in my application I am using memory mapped files. I have three of it, the maximum size of the biggest one is 5MB. I store 64 Waveforms from a DAQ card in it.
The application runs fine, but sometimes comes an error, when I try to access the MMF. The error code is 1450, "insufficient system resources"
Is a size of 5MB too big? Should I rather create one MMF for each waveform?

Error Code, not using a memory card

I cannot send any documents from my laptop to the printer. There is an Error Code that says "Please Use Only One Memory Device At a Time" also the network light is flashing blue.
I am not using a memory card at all, just laptop to printer PLEASE HELP!

I would like to help you with the symptoms your printer is experiencing. What model is it? Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
While I wait to hear back from you, please ensure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and perform a power reset. To perform a power reset, leave the printer on and unplug the power cable. Leave the printer unplugged for at least 1 full minute then reconnect the power cable.
This alone may resolve the issue, if not let me now which printer it is and we can go from there. Thanks.
