Memory on a nokia 6234

Could someone give me some advice on the memory on nokia 6234 as my phone does not have much memory on ot even though i have saved everything to the memory card which is less than half full???

I have had my 6234 for approx. 6 months. I have got the same problem. I have tried to update firmware, back up and restore all my files on PC Suite and even found a programme that shows you invisible folders on your 6234. All to no avail. I have got nothing apart from 6kb of things on my phone and i can't send txt messages as memory is full!! As a last resort i have taken it back to the shop and will collect it on Wednesday with the software being re-installed. Hopefully that will work although i do feel that it is going to be a repetive problem. If anyone does have any solutions that do work please let me know. Cheers.

I have a brand new emty memory card, does the update install the standart contents like sounds and programs that comes with the standart 64MB memory card?

If your phone was bought from Vodafone PT directly, then they should not be any language issues.
The updater does not update the memory card as far as I am aware.

All day events are shifted one day forward (Nokia 6234)

I know that the Nokia 6234 is not officially supported for iSync, however I have found a plugin that works very well.
I am, however, perplexed by the fact that all day events are shifted to the following calendar day on my phone. If I try to move a read only event to the correct day on my phone, I get an error from iSync/iCal saying you are not allowed to edit a read only event.
I have checked the time zones for the phone and my system and the are both the same (GMT+12). I've turned time zone support on and off in iCal, with no effect.
I've tried some different values for the property "AllDayEventFormat" in the Metaclasses.plist, but they didn't seem to make any difference. Maybe because I didn't un-pair and re-pair the phone in between making changes?
Any ideas?

Thank you for your advice The plugin was a free download, not a purchased item. So the provider is in no way beholden to provide assistance, as it was provided on a best efforts basis. However I have approached them for help also.

How is possible to save a pdf document from a email to the memory of my Nokia 520?

I installed Adobe Reader to read the pdf documents present in the memory of my Nokia Lumia 520 and those arrive by email.
Particulary important for is to save, the pdf that arrive by email, in the memory of my phone but I didn't understand how it is possible.

Now it's impossible to save PDF files to memory or SD card because Windows Phone 8 simply doesn't allow this action for 3d party apps.
That's why all available readers can't do it.

Nokia 6234, firmware update advices

I have a nokia 6234 since 2days ago. I updated to the last firmware, but it still have some features that were left behind.
The ones that I would really want nokia to add are:
1. The option to go forwards or to go backwards at video play. And also to the video section, if you exit a video, and you don't open another, to play where it was left when it's reopened.
2. The second thing is that the flash aplications don't have sound. I've copied a flash video on the phone, and when it played, it didn't have sound, and the same was for other flash videos that I tried, and I want to mention that I tried them before on the computer to see if they had sound, and they had.
P.S. Write here those who also have this phone, and they have some ideas on what to make better the firmware of this phone.

Other updates:
3. When I'm taking pictures on something on the move, the pictures made look like a fresh new painting that was accidentally dragged with something. If you can please add an option, something like a stabilizer like those from some of the older versions of phones from nokia or like those from the photographic cameras.

Help with Nokia 6234

Hopefully someone can help me with this question. My workplace has recently upgraded our work phone to Nokia 6630's - beacuse they have a Symbian OS. My personal take on the 6630 is that the menu system and keys aren't very intuitive, its big and bulky and not nice to text on.
I currently have a Nokia 6234 and I much prefer this phone over the 6630. HOWEVER it doesnt have the Symbian OS.
Is there a way to upgrade the hardware/software on my phone to the Symbian OS?

Nokia 6234 Startup White Screen Of Death

Hello,
I've been using the Nokia 6234 for quite a while but suddenly it stopped working. when I try to start the phone the screen flashes a couple of times and then it goes back to sleep. The battery icon is visible in the top-left corner. I cannot do anything after it starts. Most interesting is the fact that if i try using a different SIM (other than Vodafone) i get an error message and I'm asked to enter the restriction code . This part works excellent - i can write numbers without the phone shutting down or smth else.
Does anyone have any ideas about the problem?
I've tried entering reset codes - they don't work, Nokia PC Suite does not get in touch with the phone because it's shut down, i do not know anything else to try.

I've seen this happen to the sister model, the 6233. The cause is usually corrupted firmware or by having several 1000's of messages in the inbox/sent items.
If it won't fully boot (to the main screen) with or without a sim then there is nothing that you can do yourself to fix it.
The only option is to take it to a nokia care point for repair.

A wast of money indeed.Ik just bought this phone for my daughter and when we wanted to start using the phone we came to the conclusion that we can use a micro sd card in the phone.
No realy funny because the internet shop we looked at said we could use a microsd card.
This Nokia 7000 is so not of this time.
A phone with mp3 and photo with only 4 mb memory?? ( enough for 1 song if not to big )

Nokia sw updater checks the product code of your phone for your phone language. If it is not defined for arabic language, you can not have it.

Nokia 6234 - Can't find easy to use help for using...

I have the 6234 (Vodafone South Africa).
Yes, I have read the User Guide, over and over and over, but I find that it really lacks proper "How-To's"
It tells you what you have to do, but NOT how to do it. It lacks in details, and as far as I am concerned, is not really "User Friendly".
I have always had Nokia's and found them easy to use. My last one was the 7250i. When sending a text message, in the "To" box, you could select the number by using the alphabet to select the name, ie, pressing 'J" brings up al the names beginning with "J".
But the 6234 doesn't have this. It has other options that really don't make much sense to me.
There are many more functions that I can't understand or implement.
So what I'm after is a much more "Step-By-Step" "Nokia 6234 for Dummies" type help. Help that is aimed at the "not technically minded".
If anyone can help, even just with their thoughts etc, I would be more than grateful.
Bear in mind that my location is South Africa - if this makes any difference or not, and am on Vodafone.

Personally I find the 6234 to be very easy to use but I can see why some people may struggle (My mother had difficulty with a 6233).

Using the nokia 6234 as a modem over infrared?

I want to use my nokia 6234 as modem to my Psion Series 5mx. Yes, I know it is an old machine but I still use it a lot... I have tried using the 5mx settings (initialisation string, speed, flow control) as given for older Nokia phones, but no luck. Anyone know if this can be done? If so, how? Thanks, Richard

Yes, this is the way I understand it to be, the $20/mo tethering fee and the $29.99 smartphone fee we are required to have. And keep in mind, a laptop/desktop computer can gobble up 2GB of data in a heartbeat. Well, maybe not quite that fast but you get my point.
I figure the tethering will be great if you're going on a vacation/road trip/whatever and you can take your laptop with you and have 3G speeds wherever you are. But you only need to sign up for the service while you need it. When you return home, you cancel the tethering service and go back to RoadRunner. (Or whatever ISP you have) Maybe that where the idea of a "one time fee" came from.

Nokia 6234 Bluetooth problem

Basically, it wont turn on.
I got the phone about a month ago, and at first the bluetooth worked fine. Then, I came to use it, and whenever I try to turn it on, on the connectivity screen, it wont turn on, no matter how many times I press the ok button.
Oh, and at one point, I locked myself out of my phone, and had to get the PUK code. I dont know whether that could have affected it at all.
Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hey people i bought one of these nokia 6234 about 3 months ago and just recently i am experiencing the exact same bluetoothe problems as described here,anyway i tried turning the fone on and off a few times then the bluetoothe connected,but this didnt seem to work for long and it kept disconnecting,so i took it and all my bluetooth accessories to a vodafone shop twice and they told me that it has to be sent off to vodafone for maufactures warranty repairs which will probably take 2 months thats vodafone for you !! so i m not going to bother apparently vodafone thinks its internal software probably.

The 6233 & 6234 have the following advantages over the 6300
*Stereo speakers
*3G Support
*VGA Video recording
So they are the preffered device to use. If possible get a 6233 as the 6234 is a Vodafone branded 6233 and they tend to stuff up phones when they clog it up with their firmware.
So your answer is 6233

Nokia 6234 software update

after updaiting the software of my nokia 6234 with nokia software updater...is impossible sending MMS (the phone autoreset). How is it possible? Before updating software everything was okay even MMS!!

Try resetting the phone to factory settings.
Menu > Settings > Restory factory settings
Worked for my 6233, when inserting images into MMS messages made the phone go back to the desktop.
