Memory on media

hi, i want to create space for memory use on my media card (i have 1.8 GB, but when i search it just says "other" which does not allow me access to delete more to create space...
what is the "other" and how do i access it??
ernst

Okay that is a lot of data lost. You probably should put the memory card in a computer to fix the problem. Worst case scenario, you just reformat the card. That should definitely solve the problem. But then you'll loose all your data on the drive.
A like is always appreciated,
but a nomination for BB Elite even more :-)

  • Memory & Export & Media Encoder

    Problem 1:
Is there in CS4 a way to export a standard DV AVI file (standard DV 4:3 source material) without having to use Media Encoder?   In older versions of Premiere (CS2 for example) all I had to do was "Export to Movie" which created an AVI file.  Now, I use "Export to Media", Media Encoder opens and has to load the whole darn project, then "encode" my timeline .. this take a LOT LONGER than I want.
Because I'm new to CS4, am I missing something?
    Problem 2:
After I work in CS4 Premiere for a while (about 2 -3 hours), I get a warning that "Adobe Premiere is Low on Memory.  Please save your project and proceed with caution." ...    What's that all about?  I have to close the project and reopen to 'flush' the mem?
    TIA,
    jd

    1. No.
    2. It looks like either PPro or a third-party plug-in is leaking memory.
Please provide these details to help us help you.

  • Pictures not showing up in media/pictures folder

Hi there, new blackberry user.  I have taken a few pictures with my Bold 9700 and the have shown up in media/pictures/all pictures.  Not sure what happened, but now when I take pictures, I can only view them if I explore and go to the pictures folder.  How can I go back to viewing all pictures?  Any help for a rookie?

They should still be available when you go Media>Pictures.  Did you change he store pictures option?  Both the device memory and media memory have picture folders.
You should be able to go Media>Pictures>All pictures

  • Transpod fails to play media HELP!!!

I received a Transpod (ipod automobile dock) as a gift, it worked properly for a few days but then began to give me problems.
Transpod is used to charge and play ones iopd while in a car.
Assuming I was given a faulty one..I tried my transpod in other cars to assure that the problem can be found and fixed in the transpod itself.. But it wouldt work in any other vehichle.
After trying that I decided to go ahead and exchange it for a new functioning Transpod and of course to my surprise the band new one didnt work.
Transpod does reconize my ipod being plugged and still continues to charge my nano.
Ive tried many things from resetting set up options to scanning through and finding a silent radio station to sync my ipod.
I double checked everytime that I was searching for empty frequency... So Im almost positive it has nothing to due with that.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do or look for??
    Do let me know:)
    Happy New Year!

    Hey shellyh24,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest removing the battery and placing it back in the BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone and then test the SMS message ringtone.  Also are you able to play the videos from the computer?  Are these videos saved to your device memory or media card?
Are you able to view other media (music, pictures, etc.)?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Suddenly won't recognize memory card

Hi all. I have a MacBook OS X 10.5.8, have had it for a couple of years, and have always imported photos from my camera's memory card (Sony) to iPhoto via a USB card reader. Haven't ever had a problem with it, usually when I plug it in, iPhoto opens right up and everything's good.
Today, out of the blue, when I put the card in the card reader and plug it into the USB port, the computer doesn't seem to recognize that it's there at all. iPhoto doesn't open and nothing seems to indicate that the computer knows anything is plugged in to the USB - doesn't appear on the desktop or in Finder anywhere. The lights on the card reader light up when I plug in the card and when I plug in the USB to the computer, so it seems like the reader is working fine and recognizes a connection with the computer, but not vice versa. I have no idea why this is happening; I just used the exact same card less than a week ago and it worked fine. Since then I've downloaded one update from Apple (something about security), but I can't think of anything else that could be different.
Any ideas? I have some vacation pictures on there that I really would love to access! Thanks!

  • Won't recognize memory card

    Hello,
I recently purchased a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and just bought a 4 GB micro disk to increase my memory, however, my BlackBerry doesn't recognize the memory card.  When I go into the Advanced Options and Media card it says "A media card is not presently inserted in the device."  When I go to the options menu, format card is not even an option.  And I've tried to turn off the Mass Storage Mode and saved it and gone back into the Media Card options to format, but it is still not an option.  Does anybody know why the media card is not being seen by my BlackBerry?  I've heard that a software update would possibly need to be downloaded but haven't been able to find where that would be.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

  • Vtserver.exe cpu usage at close to 100% when using Media Manager

On an Intel P4 PC running 32-bit Windows XP (sp-3), 2 GB of RAM and 500 GB hard disk, hardwired 100 Mbs connection:
When attempting to stream video from the MM PC to the DVR, the video is choppy.  Upon examination of the processes running on the MM PC, VTServer.EXE is running at about 90-100% when streaming video.  There is plenty of available memory.
Media Manager software has been uninstalled and reinstalled.
MM video component check has been run.
New MM version check run - no new version.
No SW firewall software/hardware in place.
    Virus Scan disabled.
    DVR has been rebooted.
    Router has been rebooted.
Videos play without problem on the PC either via Windows Media Player or via the Media Manager player.  The problem is when they are streamed to the DVR (choppy video/audio)
When playing videos, choppy video and audio is observed.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

  • My N97 experience... not all bad

When I first received my N97 at the end of June with its v10 firmware it was truly awful!
I actually went through 3 handsets in 10 days.
I experienced freezing, crashing, incorrect ringtones, slow GPS and "Out of Memory" issues constantly. I was forced, because of the low C: drive, to install widgets, themes and as many app's as possible to Mass Memory, which in turn led to problems of their own when connecting to PC Suite in anything other than PC Suite mode. I could not even install some of Nokia's own app's as they would take up the precious C: drive.
It took me quite awhile to adjust the Destinations settings, using trial and error, so that I used my home wifi and 3G whilst out.
Then, about two or three weeks later, v11 was released on Vodafone and I upgraded the firmware, using PC Suite, with no problem and was quite pleased that I did not have to reinstall everything from scratch. The only change that I noticed with v11 was that my widgets worked a little better and that my thumbnails loaded quicker. However, the phone still gave me "Out of Memory" errors, crashed and was sluggish and unresponsive to touch, sometimes requiring 3/4 taps to get it working.
Like the majority of N97 owners, I was not a happy bunny and felt ripped off when I compared the N97 to my N95 and N95 8GB. I was thoroughly cheesed off with having to go through manually clearing the browser cache every day, not being able to have theme effects on or use anything except the built in themes for fear of crashing. Also the GPS was still taking far too long to get a mediocre lock.
Then around the end of August it was announced that v12 would be launched to address some of these problems and I eagerly awaited its coming. As with all the N97 firmware releases, the Continent version was released first, this was then to be followed by the UK CV (Country Variant) at some time in the future and finally the operator branded version even later still.
It was at this point that my frustration with the N97 got the better of me and I took the decision to change the product code to the Euro one and risk voiding my warranty to get v12 that much quicker, all went surprisingly smoothly and I was able to obtain the v12 firmware weeks ahead of Vodafone's release.
The v12 firmware did bring about some minor changes but not enough to stop my handset from crashing, freezing, every now and then. I still found the phone to be sluggish and unresponsive. I was still having to spend a lot of time "nursing" it by Clearing C: drive, which was hovering around 15MB and watch my RAM usage at around 10Mb. I still could not use anything other than the built-in theme with no effects for fear of overloading the pitiful RAM.
I was also using the beta Nokia Photo Browser as this seemed to display quicker and better than the Gallery. Also, album art was a bit hit and miss although my crashes and freezes were less. To say that I was disappointed at this stage would be an understatement. I felt thoroughly cheated by Nokia who, it seemed to me, had rushed out the N97 with immature firmware just to compete with the iPhone 3GS.
I had experienced poor RAM before, with the N95, but this had been rectified to a large extent, by a firmware update. I thought about the millions of people worldwide who had purchased the N97 and had not, or could not, update the firmware and were cursing Nokia and the N97.
It would seem that Nokia had not learnt from Apple iPhone's original launch when they promised the earth and ended up refunding early adopters after pressure was brought to bear. I also despised Nokia's head in the sand approach to the lens scratching fiasco that, luckily, I have not suffered from.
By this time I was seriously considering getting rid of my N97 and moving on. It was becoming a full time job to ensure that there was enough RAM and C: drive. I was constantly having to make tradeoffs about installing certain app's and although my GPS had improved it wasn't great. I was also cheesed off using the scroll bar to go through lists and got frustrated with it on Contacts and Music, usually ending up using the Nav pad. The touch screen was still a joke with me having to constantly tap to try and get it to work.
    Enough was enough!
I'd spent over a quarter of a year trying to come to terms with what was supposed to be a Nokia flagship phone costing £500 that just did not deliver.
And then I saw a preview of v20 with its kinetic scrolling and RAM and C: usage enhancements and thought I'd give the N97 one last chance.
After all, I stood to lose about half the phones cost if I tried to sell it on.
Like most of you, I waited with baited breath for the will they, won't they, release of v20.
Then, finally, it became available for my, now, unbranded Euro firmware and I jumped on it immediately.
That's where I made my first mistake, as I downloaded v20 straight away using NSU and immediately started to get freezes, crashes and rebooting. Photo's were slow and the Music library was a nightmare.
The penny then dropped, as they say, and I realised from my experiences with the N95 and N95 8GB, that with a firmware upgrade of this magnitude it was bound to cause problems if I either just upgraded or reinstalled from PC Suite backup.
I then proceeded to format both the phone and Mass Memory and reinstall everthing from scratch. Not an easy or short task I might add.
    It was worth it though!
I had nearly 60MB free on C: drive, before installing themes, app's and widgets. My RAM was now 40+MB after boot up and rarely goes below 20MB.
Kinetic scrolling is a joy to use. The phone is no longer sluggish. The touch screen is very responsive. I ditched Nokia Photo Browser beta as the in-built photo's prog offered so much more. The music library is a lot better. Particularly with album art. Boot up time is quicker. Widgets are more stable, although Accuweather seem to have dropped "Current Location". My GPS achieves a more accurate, and quicker, lock than before. I experience a lot less lags. The built-in browser is a lot quicker, I can hold down a key in QWERTY to get a symbol. The speakers even sound better!
Also there was a lot of tinkering and tweaking of settings as this can make a big difference to the way the phone funtions, as we can see by the forum postings.
IMHO this was the N97 I thought I was getting in June. This is the N97 that Nokia should, and could, have released and I cannot excuse them for palming off inferior firmware.
OK, it's not perfect, but as Julia Roberts says in Pretty Woman... "it has potential".
Am I going to ditch it? The answer is no!
Because I think that v20 has gone a long way to solving a lot of the things that bugged me. It shows me what this phone is capable of. It can multi task. It can run prog's without crashing.
Some of us wax lyrical about the N95 but I remember all the complaints about the lack of RAM and it's slowness, poor camera and video. until it received it's v20 upgrade which changed the phone completely and actually put it ahead of the N95 8GB with its restricted Mass Memory.
Perhaps smart phones are becoming too smart.
We get them and fire them up, sometimes ignoring the manuals, and then shove loads of third party software on them without a thought or adjustment to settings and expect them to work perfectly. I know from my own experience that I've had to uninstall software from a handset because of conflicts or poor programming.
I know that there are delays with the release of firmware updates between the Continent, CV and operator branded handsets but this is not all down to Nokia but rather to getting country approvals and operator "adjustments".
I must stress that these are my opinions based on my usage, app's and phone model.
I understand I may come in for a lot of flak for this and I am certainly no technical genius. I'm just trying to relate my everyday experience and frustration with the N97.
As my dear old mum used to say... "Speak as you find" and I'm finding this phone a lot better than it was.
Message Edited by wildreamer on 15-Nov-2009 09:01 PM

I have had a very similar experience with the N97 and agree that now with firmware v20 the phone is just usable. It's ridiculous that to get to this point we've had to put so much work into researching solutions, resetting the phone multiple times, formatting the mass memory, reloading media and maps (also multiple times), uninstalling and reinstalling apps, and installing and reinstalling firmware updates. My wife jokingly said to me that I'd spent more time trying to get the phone running than actually using it. The sad thing is that this is pretty much true and no matter how well the phone works I will always remember the first four months of very sub par performance.
IMHO if Nokia hadn't skimped on the memory for the RAM and c drive the N97 would have suffered from a lot less problems. Also instead of spending four months trying to resolve these memory issues in the development for the v20 firmware release, they could have focussed on the multitude of other bugs. And how much do you think Nokia saved by skimping, maybe a few dollars per handset. Contrast this with how much bad publicity they have received over the N97 as well as the bad experience for people who spent US $700 for a flagship device.
Added to all these faults is the poor way that Nokia have handled this. From the head in the sand approach to the camera lens scratches and poor GPS, to the lack of Mac support, and to the complete denial that there is even a problem.
Nokia's official support is also problematic, the user to user forum is good but it should not be a replacement for official support pages (the device support pages only provide the product guide and link to the discussions forum) and getting anything other than form responses and incorrect information from the Nokia Customer Care makes this service a complete waste of time.
Will I sell my N97? No, not for the moment.
Can I recommend the N97? No!
Can I recommend any Nokia product? No!

  • Transfer old blackberry device data to new BlackBerry 10 device, without old blackberry device

    Hello,
I recently bought a new BlackBerry Q10, I had a BlackBerry Bold 9790 running on OS 7 before this and I had backed it up from BlackBerry Desktop Software. I had no knowledge that BlackBerry 10 devices don't work with BlackBerry Desktop Software, so I sold my Bold 9790 and then bought a Q10. I need to recover all the data of my old Bold 9790 to my Q10, but sadly Q10 doesn't work with BlackBerry Desktop Software. If I download BlackBerry Link it will ask me to connect my old device to transfer files.
So basically I need to transfer the backup file of my old phone to the new phone.
    Please help me out. Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First, the device has been out for over a year and a half.  BlackBerry has put the information out there.  I easily found the information below with a quick Google search that brought up this article, KB33322
While it hasn't yet been updated to reflect the latest update to Link, I made a few minor changes to the instructions to get to the same options in the new version of Link.
Media Files saved on the device internal memory will be transferred if you check the box for "Media files saved on internal memory."  Media files saved under Content Store on the old device will not.
    Here are the instructions:
Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
At the left side of the BlackBerry Link screen, click name of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
Select Restore Device > Legacy Device Backup Files.
    Select the desired backup file.
Select the data to restore to the BlackBerry 10 smartphone. To restore all supported data, select the Restore all data check box.  To choose the data to restore select Custom Restore.
Note: For a description of the BlackBerry smartphone databases, refer to KB03974.
    Click Restore.
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.
    2. If your issue has been solved, please resolve it by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • Zen V Plus under Windows 2

?Somebody bought me a new Zen V Plus, but unfortunately I'm using Windows 2000. Windows XP doesn't have enough new features to interest me and I'm concerned more about stability anyway, so I probably won't upgrade my OS for a few more years. In the meantime, I'd like to use the Zen in some way. Even if I can't load all the supporting utility software from the accompanying CD, there should be some way for me to be able to just copy files from my hard disk to the Zen's file system and play them. That in itself would be a quantum leap over having no MP3 player at all.
However, the V Plus does not look like a little hard disk to Windows, so I can't use Explorer to copy the files. As far as I have been able to learn, the V Plus uses flash memory and Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), which is supported in Windows Media Player 0 (which is only supported under Windows XP).
HOWEVER ... Microsoft recently released a Media Transfer Protocol Porting Kit -- see http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsmed...s/default.aspx -- to add MTP support to WMP 9, the last one that worked under Windows 2000. But it's not easy to set up. After installing it and reading the Readme-Redist.txt file, you run MTP9x-2k.exe, which installs the following files:? - %windir%/System32/drivers
    ?? - wpdusb9x.sys (Windows 98SE or Windows ME)
    ???OR wpdusb.sys (Windows 2000)
    ? - %windir%/System32
    ?? - mtpiusb.dll
    ?? - mtpsmgr.exe
    ?? - mtpistb.dll
    ?? - mtpsp.dll
    ? - %windir%/Inf
?? - wpdmtp.inf? But then you have to edit a .inf file to describe the attributes of your player. This is beyond my technical ability.
Am I right to think that I can get basic MP3 player use from the V Plus just by installing the MTP Porting Kit, or do I really need to upgrade to Windows XP?<
If the Porting Kit will work, can anybody help me write a .inf file that will be correct for the V Plus?<
    Thanks for your help!

I really wish I could help you but I am in the same situation about this driver. I dont know whether to cry or eat my own mp3 player :[, cause in order to use it'sI?even bought an external har dri've to install xp and then realised is not even possible. So?I guess the solution?are:?to create a backup of your important documents and install windows xp,borrow a friends computer?or resell your mp3 player because you can not even charge it whithout the drivers intalled. But I wont give up :]Message Edited by elenka on 0-9-200703:33 PM

  • Z87-GD65 USB and ATA/ATAPI Bridge Issues

I just installed a new Z87-GD65 into a Silverstone HTPC case and I'm having weird issues with all USB 3.0 ports. This problem occurs on both a Windows 10 technical preview install and a Windows 8.1 install. Everything is updated including the BIOS and, as far as I can tell, installed properly. I used Live Update 6 to verify the integrity of the motherboard drivers and BIOS version. I also double checked the build for any potential shorts or incorrectly plugged in devices and everything seems to check out.
Basically, what seems to be happening, is the computer is constantly losing connection with the USB 3 ports and is re-"scanning" to gain connection again. This makes all the USB 3 ports useless for any media or storage device and is extremely annoying when used with a mouse and keyboard. This "re-scanning" if that is what it is, is also causing all the i/o ports to freeze for a second or two so if I let's say, double click on a folder and this "scan" occurs, it takes a few seconds for the the folder to open. I also notice that a storage device plugged into any USB 2.0 port is more sluggish than usual and there is an overall delay in all mouse/keyboard input. This is a new motherboard and a new build although I have used all this external equipment and some internal with another computer with no issues at all.
    System Specs:
PSU: 850w Coolermaster with front panel fan control
    Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65
    CPU: Intel i5 4670k
    Video Card: MSI GTX 770
RAM: 16GB of G-Skill Sniper series memory
    Storage/Media:
    128GB Samsung SSD (OS)
2x128Gb Crucial SSD Raid 0 (Games)
1TB Western Digital black (general programs)
    2x2TB Western Digital Green (storage)
I also have a Medisonic 4-bay USB 3.0 enclosure with 3x2TB drives and one 3TB drive.
If this is a Windows issue I'll re-install Windows 7 but if this is a hardware/driver issue I'd like to know how to fix it if possible as I can't return or exchange the board.

Everything works, or is at least detected, fine in BIOS. I already messed with the hand off settings and no dice.
I got tired of dealing with it so I formatted an installed Win 7 unfortunately the problem is still there. It's much less pronounced so I can actually use the computer without the weird freezing and stuttering issues but any time I try to transfer and or unzip any large file windows will lose connection and I'll get a "USB device has Malfunctioned" error. This does not happen on my other PC, unfortunately I need the hard drive bay on this PC.

  • App Error 602 & "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(144) is not responding; process terminated"

    Hi,
I have spent a whole and very frustrating day trying to solve the following problem and in exasperation I resort to a posting here. Note no changes had been made to the phone prior to the start of the problem.
My Blackberry 9800 Torch freezes on power-up. It can only be ‘unfrozen’ by taking out the battery or, if left alone, after many minutes it comes up with the white screen, ‘App Error 602' and ‘Reset’ which is highlighted. Resetting has the same effect as taking out the battery. After each restart, it goes through the usual security and time checks and then freezes again. However, on rare occasions I got the message “Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(144) is not responding; process terminated”.
Soon after the restart, after the Security Software Verification and on confirming the time/date, there is a very small window of opportunity (literally a couple of seconds) to access the phone. After much trial and error, I discovered that (in Manage Connections) by disabling the Mobile Network and WiFi - effectively putting it into ‘aeroplane mode’ - the device would work, without any problem and indefinitely. Except, of course, I couldn’t access the phone network nor the internet, which isn’t helpful(!).
I have taken this opportunity to do a full back-up on to my PC, through BlackBerry Desktop Software (though I’m not sure this backs up downloaded Apps??). Separately, I've also copied all the subdirectories from the phone’s memory and media card on to the PC, retaining their correct structures (but presumably also copying the corruption causing the problem?).
    Any ideas???
    - thanks in advance!

The method you are attempting is the automatic method...sometimes it just doesn't work, and you must take control. The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • Problem with file transfer via wi-fi!

    Hi, folks,
Please, could someone help me to get a music file I made using Groovemaker app?
After finish the mix, I built a song. Then, I saved it in the "mix browser".
In the end of the exporting process, I typed the URL address displayed in the browser (http://192.168.0.188:5555/, on Firefox, Chrome and IE), but something gone wrong and, every time I export the same song - it's my first exporting action - I got a message such "The page hasn't loaded... limit time reached".
What's the problem with my wi-fi connection? Should I set something in my router? According to the company website (http://www.groovemaker.com/gmiphone/features/) this kind of wi-fi file transfer is easy, but not to me...
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex

What type of errors is being generated? Are you trying to save that file on device memory or media card? try moving that file on media card.
