Memory problem in Flash lite 1.1

Hi! All.
I've already posted this to other group.
But I think this one is more suitable for this issue.
So, excuse my cross posting.
Anyway,
I'm doing some project using flash lite 1.1 for each
tele-communication
company in Japan, I mean Docomo, AU, Vodafone.
My question is there is any way to free memory in flash lite
1.1 .
Because you may already know, flash lite 1.1 has a limitation
about
memory size which is 100kb.
So, I want to free memory but there is no even delete or null
command.
Only thing that I know about this is unloadMovieClip and
removeMovieClip.
But it seems to be not working in most mobile phones.
The main thing that I want to do is load a swf file and free
memory and
reload other swf file, of course their size are below 100kb.
Until now, I couldn't make it.
Do you have any information about this?

Resetting the soft keys via FSCommand("ResetSoftKeys"); in
frame 2 is not the correct method because this will only release
your control on the soft keys within the application.
In your code, you might notice that when you move from frame1
to frame2, your KeyListener Object (i.e myListener) is still
active. So even when you have a new KeyListener Object(i.e
myListener1) defined in frame2, the keys on your phone will
continue to listen to both the active KeyListener Objects.
The correct method is to remove the KeyListener when moving
to a new frame, and then redefining the KeyDown function again with
the same listener object.

    I've got a problem playing videos in YouTube with my 5800. Recently I updated my version of Flash Lite to 3.1,  from that day I can't see correctly videos on YouTube, when the the indicator of the bar reaches 1/4 of the totallity of the bar, the sound and image stop, but the indicator continues playing. If i want to see completly a video I have to put the indicator in the start of the bar and wait the load again. Some idea to fix this problem?

Hace poco actualicé la versión del Flash Lite a la 3.1 y desde entonces no puedo ver correctamente vídeos de YouTube, cuando el indicador de la barra alcanza 1/4 de la distancia total, se detienen el sonido y la imagen, pero el indicador continúa como si siguiera reproduciendo, es decir para el vídeo es como si siguiera reproduciendo pero ni el sonido ni la imagen continúan., para ver los vídeos tengo que llevar el cursor de carga al principio y esperar la carga de nuevo, es un problema realmente molesto. ¿Alguna idea para solucionarlo?

    I have Nokia 5800XM as well. The YouTube videos are playng fine for me. my FW is 40.0.005 with FL3.1
    Maybe you need to update your device's firmware and FL version.\
    Start Device Manager application on your 5800XM from menu or dialing *#0000#. It will check for new updates and ask you to download them. Remember that these updates are in MBs. I'd recommend update using a WiFi connection or flat-rate data plan.

  • Problem updating Flash Lite to 3.1

    Hello everybody
    I've been trying to install the Flash Lite 3.1 Distributable
    to update my N95, and it does't have any affect on my device.
    The flash player is still 3.0, and there were no other player
    added..
    Im testing on N95 and E71 nokia phones.
    maybe I should download a different installer ? (I've
    downloaded the SIS Distributable from AdobeLabs)
    any ideas will be halpfull.

    As long as your application manager confirms the install then
    FL3.1 is there, the problem is likely that you have no applications
    for it.
    The Distributable Player requires you to package applications
    using the Adobe Mobile Packager to make use of it.

    Hi Adobe,
    I'm from the Philippines, South East Asia and I want to
    purchase a Flash Lite 2 Player. My Adobe ID also says that I'm from
    the Philippines.
    I went to Adobe Store - Asia Pacific (International). I
    supplied the IMEI number, Handset and Phone Model. Upon clicking
    Secure Checkout, it gives me this error message:
    The account using [email protected] was registered for
    Philippines. Please sign in using an existing account for this
    country, or create a new account.
    I dont think I did something wrong in the process. Why is the
    Philippines not in the lists of Store Countries? Please help.

    Sorry, I am not Adobe, Im jon in Japan, and I too have had
    problems purchasing FlashLite2 from USA. I think you would need to
    make a new account to purchase the FL2 BUT your address sets you up
    as being in Philippines. It may be impossible for you to purchase
    it Unless you contact usa adobe in the USA by phone.
    The reason your country is not listed is because there are no
    phones that accept FL2? If you DO have a phone that accepts FL2,
    then it could be a licensing issue in the pacific region. I
    recommend that you call USA adobe for this issue and explain to
    them that you are a developer.

  • Flash Lite 1.1 on 3rd Edition

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with flash lite 1.1 on the 3rd edition
    phones. When my app calls a second swf (when the softkeys are
    pressed) it sometimes hops out of the app and player completly and
    goes back to the phones operating system menu.
    Its completely intermitent and only happens sometimes. I can
    sometimes call the second swf , go back and call it again 20 times
    and it works all the time, but sometimes it hops out after 1 or 2
    calls..... Why????
    The code is not changing and its not a memory problem and
    nothing else is running on the phone.
    I dont get any memory errors or any warning messages back.
    The swf's that I'm calling range from 30k to 50k so its not
    huge amounts of memory.
    I am getting this on the following phones... N73, N80, E61,
    3250 and E70 (thats all I have but I suspect all of the phones in
    this series that have the player pre installed have this problem)
    I have also tried some of the downloads from the exchange and
    they hop out too...
    I think the player has a problem with key presses on the soft
    keys and for some reason it drops out sometimes if they are
    pressed.
    Has anyone else had this problem and if so where you able to
    fix it in any way, or can someone from Adobe tell me if this is a
    known problem with flash lite 1.1 on the 3rd edition phones....?
    Is there a fix!!!

    The solution is really very simple:
    pair your N93 via bluetooth with your Mac, then once it is paired, go to the bluetooth menu, at the top right of your desktop...
    From the bluetooth menu, choose
    Browse Device...
    The N93 will allow you to browse 2 main drives, the internal C drive and your memory card too.
    The problem with sending Flash Lite 2 swf files via bluetooth is that since the installed Flash Lite Player is only version 1.1, it attempts to open any files which are sent. It refuses to open Flash Lite 2 swf files since it believes they are corrupt.
    However, when you send files using the Browse Device... method, the files are not intercepted by the installed Flash Lite Player 1.1, and so you can save them to the N93 (in the "Other" folder).
    Now, when you open the Flash Lite Player 2.1 you will see your Flash Lite 2 swf file listed and you will be able to open and test it ;-)
    Easy when you know how ;-)

  • Loading text file with flash lite 3.0 problem

    I recently ran into a problem with loading a plain text file with Flash Lite 3.0.
    I know there is a way to load name/value pairs using LoadVars class or XML file using XML class. Both methods work great, but these classes parse the data loaded and I need to load just a plain text - no pairs or xml structure. (its because Im loading specific file format, so I can't make any changes to it)
    There is a simple way how to achieve this in Flash using Actionscript 2 by extending the LoadVars class and overriding the onData() method. I used it plenty of times and it works fine.
    There is an example of implementation:
    // the PlainData.as file

            this.onLoad(true);
    // now in the main file
    var my_data:PlainData = new PlainData();
    my_data.load("my3dmodel.obj");
    This code traces unchanged content of my3dmodel.obj file.
    The problem comes when I try to run this code using Flash Lite 3.0. The code stops working just by changing player version in publish settings to Flash Lite 3.0. It doesnt display any error, but also doesnt trace any content.
    Is there a reason why you cant override onData method in LoadVars class in lite version of flash or am I doing something wrong?
    (also overriding onLoad() method works fine in Flash Lite)

  • Flash lite and Memory

    Hi everyone,
    I am loading 4 xmls in my application whose size is not more
    than 200 KB. My application is 75 KB.
    I am loading these xmls into their respective arrays. I
    tested this application on E51 and it is installed on memory card.
    When I am manpulating the array contents and send this
    content to the server sometimes I am getting memory overflow error.
    I have kept track of the memory which I noticed at one point
    of time exceeds 2 MB and overflow error occurs.
    I tried freeing the xml objects using <xmlObject>=null
    after loading the contents into respective arrays, but still the
    memory freed is very little.
    How do I solve this issue?
    Moreover the static and dynamic heap memory for flash lite
    applications varies from device to device. Is there any way to
    extend the memory or use virtual memory sort of thing when the
    application is installed in memory card instead of phone memory
    itself.

    I am not "from" Adobe but I have been playing with FL for a
    while and I am an ACE. For a Qualcomm specific question you may

    but in the meantime, I can at least tell you what has been working
    for me.
    Add the code used here to you movie (but remember that adding
    this debugger will add to the memory load)::
    I hope that helped. The biggest message—test on your
    device **(but suprissingly, the numbers on my Flash (not qualcomm)
    emulator when targeting my exact device are the same as on the
    device. Once it gets below 70% the device throws memory errors.
    Also, make sure you do garbage collection (search term in FL help
    file) otherwise as your program stays on it could throw errors.
    (i.e. After 20 minutes the device could throw a memory error but
    not right away. This actually happend to me.).
    *p.s. Obviously functions require FL 2.0 and not 1.1, but we
    are in the BREW forum. To be backwards compatable to FL 1.1 you
    would need a frames based method to measure time.

  • N97 Mini Flash Lite Problem

    Hey Guys, what happened with me maybe a minor issue but i wanna know how to solve it.
    Here's what happened with my N97 mini: I had the flash lite 3.0 installed, so I downloaded The flash lite 3.1(4) from a link i found on Google. Now, when I go to youtube.com  on the default symbian browser,  I get the first "frame" of the video with sound but without the video; only first "frame" of the video appears. When I tap on the video for Fullscreen the web browser closes by itself and it shows to the homescreen, and something really weird happens: when i hide the widgets and show them again, it does it like i have the theme effects off.. but when i go to theme settings, its actually theme effects on. And it doesnt do the effects again untill i turn my phone off and then turn it on.
    On the other hand, I guess this flash lite issue is causing a problem on video playback in realplayer. When I record a video with the camera and play it back, it does it without any problem and the file format is MP4. Though, when i send an MP4 video from my pc to the phone, the playback shows no picture.. just the sound.
    Im sorry If I said too much, but i said everything that happened because i wanna know if its really the flash lite's problem.. or its something else?
    And either way, whats the solution!? Please Guys I need ur help

    A software update shouldn't cause a problem as the phone has data protection, just to be safe back up your contacts, but the phone should be fine anyway, simply re-install the software with Nokia Software Updater, and hoprfuly it will resolve your problem, if not , contact a Nokia Care Point, whatever the case , the phone definitely won't be any worse for a software install.

  • 7610 flash lite 2.1 problem

    hi adobe guys,
    I'm new to flash lite. I have a 7610 and install some FL 2.1
    and transfer my SWF file into it and everything works fine when
    playing it. but i figure out a problem. When i browse the flash
    folder E:\Others the system didn't recognize the file but before i
    think the system recognize it and can play the file directly when i
    press the enter button.
    Also when i transferring SWF file with bluetooth the system
    also not recognize the file even i install the flash player back.
    Before this prob happen i had tried the 2.1 version but the player
    size only 680 kb and it works fine. And i uninstall it then i
    install the new FLite 2.1 that i got from adobe site. After
    installing that version (900Kb) the system start not recognize the
    SWF file.
    Could someone tell me how this thing happen and some way to
    resolve this ?

  • Problem with Nokia 5200 and Flash Lite themes...

    My problem is pretty simple to ask, but maybe not to easy to answer...
    I downloaded many Flash Lite themes for my Nokia 5200, and my problem is that the animated icons for the grid (that are SWF files) don't show/animate.
    Is it supposed to be like that?
    The firmware is v5.53

    Oh, I forgot this...
    In Carbide.ui, the icons DO animate as they should.

    Actionscript 3 supports making ftp client aplications with flash because of binary sockets capability. There is no such facility in as2 (flash lite 2.0/2.1/3.0).

    Ovi suite updated firmware to version 6.00, and now i can't set flash lite content as wallpaper.. I see a black screen until restart.

    We are business users and have 3 of these phones. I find it hard to beleive the signal strength is so poor on a service such as Vodafone in 3 different city centre locations throughout the UK. The hand sets are only 4 months old, so is there a known design flaw?

    I have Nokia 6630. I downloaded flash lite
    2.1(flashlite2_1_symbian_s60V2_FP3.sis) from adobe and when I tried
    to install the .sis file, I got the following error message "Model
    of phone not supported. Installation cancelled". But in the
    applications folder I see a program called Flash Player, whose
    status is 'installed'. Moreover, I couldn't see any flash icon in
    the menu.. So I am confused..what should I do, to install flash
    lite 2.1 succesfully and view swf files on my phone(NOKIA 6630)?

  • Flash lite sound problem on Sony Ericsson devices..

    The same swf file runs on Nokia devices with sound in the background. And with no sound at all, on Sony Ericsson devices.
    It's a flash lite 1.1 file. There is no ActionScript involved, just an MP3 file dragged in to a frame on stage.
    What do I do wrong?

    hi any one got any idea how to uninstall original flash player on n93 so flash lite 2.1 will become main player as when i am on youtube and try to play video . message on you tube says you have java turned off which it is not or i have a older version of flash player and should update.
