Memory read error causes crash, cause unknown?

I've been getting the error below at various times, usually after I've been working for a while without saving. It appears to be random. Does anyone know what kinds of things might trigger this? Is there a fix?
FormDesigner.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x022221b2" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be "read".
I haven't noticed any patterns with when it occurs. It's very frustrating, to say the least. Especially for such an expensive piece of software that I expect to be reliable.

I have searched on the internet regarding the problem, but it seems cant solve my problem. FYI, im not installing the dsk c6713 driver yet because my lecturer misplaced the cd driver + no driver can be found online. Can anyone suggest any solutions? Thank you in advance.

when i try to open the webi report i get error
WEB INTELLIGENCE SERVER MEMORY FULL - ERROR (WIS -30280)
JAVA Deployment and XIR2 Edit the webi.properties file :
1) Go to windows explorer.
2) Go to C drive (or wherever your Tomcat is installed) c:\programfiles\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\classes\webi.properties
3) open this file webi.properties with a notepad and add MAX_HEAP_SIZE=1024000000 as the bottom most line of the file.
4) Save the file.
5) Restart the tomcat server and webi as well.
(This works for xir2 and this is not the permanent fix I guess)
For Xi3.0 : XI3.0-WEB INTELLIGENCE SERVER MEMORY FULL - ERROR (WIS -30280)
Cause
The error message appears because the Web Intelligence server stresses the memory resources when processing many reports containing a large amount of data.
Resolution
To resolve the error message, it is necessary to increase the memory heap size value. Complete these steps:
Click Start > Run. The Run dialog box appears.
Type "regedit" in the Open text field. Click OK. The Registry Editor appears.
Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager.
Click Subsystems > right-click Windows key > click Modify.
Edit the SharedSection value from 1024,3072,512 to 1024,3072,1024.
Also, set this to a value higher than the Web Intelligence Report Server connection time out value found in the Central Management Console. This value is written in minutes. The default value is 20.
Close the Registry Editor.
Restart the Web Intelligence Report Server for the changes to take effect.
So gurus please suggest for any alternative or permanent fix ,as this seems to be workaround.

Anybody has found any solution to this problem? The forum say in XIR2 we have to modify the webi.properties file in c:\programfiles\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\classes\webi.properties to add MAX_HEAP_SIZE=1024000000 as the bottom most line of the file.
My first question is where can i find this file to add the parameter in XIR3.0? I have many webi.properties. Second question, is it the solution?

All CS2 apps crash with "Read Only Memory Exception" error.

Machine Specs.
Apple G5 1.8ghz DP
OS X 10.4.10
It doesn't matter which one I open, they all crash with the same error. This started when a user placed a support ticket for their mac not starting up. I wasn't able to save the user so I created a new user, and then moved their desktop files over to the new user. However the only files I moved were those on the desktop, and their Notes data directory.
Thinking my job done I marked the tickets closed and walked away.
I got a call later when the user came into the office and the issue was that Indesign CS2 was crashing with a "Read Only Memory Exception" error. I first deleted the Preferences on the machine. That didn't work.
So I created a new user to see if it was the user causing the errors. I received the same error when opening Indesign CS2 from the brand new user account. I also tested all other CS2 programs and got the same errors.
Next I tried deleting the CS2 programs and re-installing them. No luck, same error, even with a new user. I have not re-installed any plug-ins with the new App installs yet.
Removed all fonts, and ran a font cache cleaner. Same error.
Finally, the last thing I've tried is to manually remove every adobe application on the machine. Acrobat 5/6/7, CS1, CS2...etc. I have also removed any Adobe files/folders in the //library/, and /$home/Library/.
Yet I still get the same error. Short of a complete wipe I'm not sure where to proceed next. I'm really confused and hoping someone can give me some clues.

Thanks to a comcast permissions error any new files I upload to my comcast.net pages requires the administrator username/password to even see the file to download it. Simply giving out the URL for new files results in page not found errors.
So for the forseeable future I don't see any way to upload this file correctly. Its there on my webspace all 63megs of it. If I login through the FTP account I can upload and download to my hearts content but since anonymous access is disabled I'm not giving out my administrator login info.
I've got a gig of space, using 22mb of it, and can't upload any more files because no-one has permissions to access them.
I spent a half hour on the phone with comcast trying to figure this out. However I don't know whats going on with their end. I have a trouble ticket open for a level 3 tech, we'll see whats going on.
So the Font Scrubber will remain unavailable for the time being unless someone wants to give me guest upload access to a FTP account. I'm not opening a fileshare account with anyone, don't like'm.

Project crashing caused by Memory?

I am having a program crash problem with Final Cut Pro when working with any number of projects (big or small). One large project (33MB), I cannot even open without FCP crashing. +*When I say crash, I mean that the program quits without notice and all windows disappear immediately without warning (i.e. no spinning beach ball or frozen windows). A dialog box then appears oon screen telling me that FCP quit unexpectedly and offers me a report or send Apple a message.+
This is my set up: I am running Final Cut Pro HD on a Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 with 4GB RAM with Mac OS X (10.4.11). My OS and all apps live on a 230 GB Internal start-up HD (159GB available) and my projects and all related assets live on a 500GB external Seagate high speed USB 2 Drive (14GB available). No other USB 1 devices are on the bus.
In order to correct the problem did the following in this order:
1- Used FCP Rescue to trash and reset FCP. No effect
2- Used Mac's Disc Utility to Repair Disk Permissions and Repair Disk (both run twice). No effect
3- Copied project file to main start-up drive in order to eliminate possible issue with linked asset. Project crashed FCP at launch.
4- Reformatted start-up Drive and performed clean install of OS and FCP. No Effect. Project still caused crash at launch.
Non of these seemed to work, so I started with a auto-saved backup of the project. I saved it as a separate copy with a new name. It opened without a crash, yet all media clips needed to be reconnected. Hooray! So, I started reconnecting media. As I do this, I reconnect small bunches of clips at a time and click save. During this long process, the program crashed again. So, I restarted FCP and the project opened without crashing. I continue to reconnect media as before. Now it takes half the time to crash again. I use FCP Rescue to trash prefs and restart FCP again, but as the program loads the project, it crashes before it can finish opening the project.
It seems to me that each time FCP crashes with a project open, it damages the project file somehow to the point that it will not open at all. Even after purging program preferences and attempting to reopen the crashed project file. Is this possible? Is there some other cause for projects to crash and or not open this way?
Now I am wondering if it is hardware causing the crashes leading to the corrupt files. I ran Apple's Hardware test and the MAC passes both the fast and long test. I also downloaded Temperature Monitor to check memory temp for overheating. It is running between 74-77˚C (165-170˚F), a few degrees higher during a render test. Does anyone know if this memory temp is an issue or what acceptable tolerances are for the G5 with FCPHD? I am out of ideas and hope that someone out there might have some ideas. +Any advice is appreciated.+

It sounds like you may have a piece of corrupt media (or several pieces of corrupt media). First of all, usb is not recommended for working with fcp. Don't think it's the source of your problem, but...
First, generally speaking, project files should reside on your startup disk and all media on other drives.
Are you using any nonstandard codecs or formats?
Are all your drives formatted macosextended? You might want to run diskwarrior on all drives.
Once the above are eliminated, try this. Copy your fcp project file to your startup drive and disconnect the media drive. Open fcp and launch the project. All media will be offline. Save your project. Reconnect your media drive, and launch fcp and the project. Gradually reconnect your media until you find the problem clips.

Hello, Currently we are seeing this issue with a couple of our Lenovo T420s laptops with a Solid State Drive. ruffly about 10 or so. The Reboots happen randomly and do not create a dump file. We have contacted Lenovo and they are
not sure why its happening. Since this Crash I set it for Minidump this did not work my next steps will be to Disable Automatic restart on System Failure to see if it brings anything up. I am also looking at using Procmon to dump to a file as well.
If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

We have tested and checked both the Bios and firmware of the SSD Drive's
Bios was up to date and no issue
Firmware was also up to date as well.
Users are still experiencing random Reboots.   I tried to capture the issue with Procmon but since the PC shutdown (Goes to a black screen no power at all even when turning the "Automatically
restart" off under Startup and Recovery) No dmp files as of yet. Unable to configure Procdump due to not knowing where the issue is and what is causing it to happen.
Going to replace one of the PC's with a New one with different hardware to see if this resolve the issue. If anyone has any idea's to be able to capture what maybe happening that would
be great.

I can't login caused of an unknown error (-9808)

I can't login caused of an unknown error (-9808) since a few weeks. I know my Apple ID and the right password...
I also can't create a new account, but the connenction to the internet is there and I can also use the itunes store with all functionalities exept the log in...
All the other desciptions of this error (-9808) and sugestions don't work. I've also got the latest version of itunes.

I've seen this before but I'm a bit unsure of these kind of things. Is it really trustworthy? But thanks anyway for the answer, I'll probably try it anyway.

Backup causing Memory Critical error

I have noticed that my Phone has been rebooting on me every night for the past week or so. I have no idea what is causing it, but I tried to put it into Airplane mode for the last few nights to see if that would fix the problem. Well, it didn't reboot on me, but once I turn off airplane mode, the phone would freeze on me and i would have to perform a hard reboot. I am not sure exactly what is happening, but I then loaded up the Backup app and found another issue...
It seems like my Palm Profile backup app is causing some major memory errors. Every time I try to run backup, I get "memory critical" errors that freezes my device and I have to do a forced reboot. I have even tried to doctor my phone and it doesn't seem to help.
I can try to send along any log files as needed, but any idea why the backup app would be causing these errors?

It appears I've been experiencing the same issue. I noticed I was randomly getting critical memory issues with no apps open. I couldn't figure out what was causing it. Through this, the phone gets quite hot and then just freezes on whatever screen it is on.
Is this due to the recent server authentication changes that HP announced regarding webOS devices? It's causing my phone to crash pretty regularly in the morning and it's very inconvenient.

Targetdataline.stop() causes memory alloc error

Im trying to run a Thread that records Audio when I press a button. I have no problem starting the thread, but I cannot seem to stop it without receiving memory alloc errors. Im try to stop is using targetdataline.stop followed by targetdataline.close .

I tried moving the targetdataline.close() at the end of run() function (after the AudioSystem.write() ), but no such luck.

Desktop Manager crashes with "unknown error" message before sync starts

I have the latest phone software, the very latest version of the desktop software and I can't get the sync to get past the initialization stage before it crashes. I've read some of the other posts about changing the synch settings but I can't even get to the settings options before it crashes. I've uninstalled the desktop software and reinstalled it (both with and without the media manager add on). I've done a battery pull on the phone itself. I've even done a restore of the last good backup of the phone.
Is it just me or does this house of cards seem to collapse every time there's an update to either the desktop software or the phone software?

If you have reinstalled the software without using the clean removal procedure I recommend you
use the procedure and the install the desktop manager again. The procedure cleans the registry and
completely strips all directories etc. This will save you headaches in the long run.
Use the first procedure to check the possible causes of the "unknown error".

Most posts I see regarding any new desktop manager are installation and setup errors by far.
The other posts mainly are Windows OS programs that aren't updated or unique to a specific PC setup.
House of cards? I don't think there are enough cards for a double deck pinochle game.

Backboardd crashes causing iPhone reboot

When launching the "Sun Mobile" app (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/the-sun-mobile/id485672520?mt=8), the device immediately restarts.
The crash logs show that it was backboardd that crashed causing the restart of the device.
The app runs fine on iPhone 5S (any OS version) or on iPhone 5 prior to iOS 7.1.
This is a serious bug! The whole device is restarted. The screen goes black and the device relaunches to the lock screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
Install iOS 7.1 on iPhone 5 or older.

IPhone 6 Plus 16GB blue screen crashes: Read, error type:Address map hole or size mis-match

Hi folks,
Some time ago I had a 16GB 6+ and it crashed with the blue screen, so I returned it. I now have a brand new one that I got from Tmobile ($75 return fee) and although it has mostly worked just fine, I have gotten 2 blue screen crashes. Below are the details from the phone's log.
What strikes me is the message "Read, error type:Address map hole or size mis-match".
Does anyone know if this could be caused by a hardware defect?
I've gotten one of these crashes running iOS 8.1.2 and another in 8.1.3.

A chart in Numbers causing crashes

A chart in Numbers is causing Numbers to slow down & stutter when it is seleced or edited. The memory is eventually depleted and Numbers crashes. I'm using Numbers 2008 1.0.3. This chart is pulling info from formulas in a large table. That table is pulling infor from several smaller charts. This is odd to me and it is the first time I have had this problem. I have restart Numbers & the MBP. In both cases, the memnory is returned the same & I restart. The file is fine for a good while unless I start messing with that chart. Then, the free memory excellerates it's disappearing act & Numbers crashes. I will pay closer attention to the wired, active, & inactive. I use iStat to follow this stuff. What could be causing the memory disappearing act & the crashing? It's just a chart. I did see other posting about memory loss for Numbers 2009, but nothing within a year or that really addressed my issue.

There are only 4 lines with 50 points or less in each line. Maybe my definition of large isn't so large.
I didn't upgrade to Numbers 2009, because it came out so quick that I thought it wouldn't have many changes & I thought another update would come out. I have been waiting for the next update ... and waiting. I'm surprised it has taken this long & am guessing that another should be out any time, now. It has been 5 years and Numbers is missing some seemingly simple features like scatter plots & linear equations.
What would b the advantage of upgrading to Numbers 2009 that would be worth it & how would it eliminate this glitching and crashing?
