Memory Requirements Are Ridiculous in Aud C6

I know Adobe support is non-existent because I've tried relentlessly to get the same kind of company support that any other s'ware company would consider a walk in the park, and have yet to have succeeded, and I don't intend to get any support this time.  So, my comment is the fact that when I had Audition 2.0 on my PC that had only 2 Gigs of RAM, or even Cool Edit when I only had 12Meg of RAM (remember those days) I could run the Noise Reduction module with NO PROBLEM AT ALL, and it did a WONDERFUL job.  Further, it was pretty easy to understand.  However, now I have a PC with 16GIGS of RAM, and when I try to run the original NR module, and use the exact settings they suggest, and the same that I used to use it doesn't reduce the noise at all.  I know how to work it because I've been using it since the late 90's, but I reread the instructions anyway, and I WAS doing it correctly; but as I said, no results.  So, I tried the Adaptive NR, and it just spits, and sputters.  It's useless.  When I read the manual it warns that it's memory intensive.  REALLY?  I use Sonar X3 Studio, and Samplitude 12X, and neither one of those chokes like Audition.
That's not the only part of Audition that sucks memory like the govt sux our $$$.  The pitch correction software can't even correct pitches without the same spitting and sputtering.  As some of you may know, Sonar X3 comes with Melodyne Essential, which I think everyone will agree that they are pretty much the reference standard, and pioneer when it comes to pitch correction, yet they have no problem digesting the same files Audition chokes on like a baby.  And Samplitude, which is also a much higher reference software than Audition has no problem.
So, I know someone is going to come back and say with a snarky tone "Well, why don't you use 1 of those programs?".  Well, for my pitch correction issues, I DO use Melodyne.  However, one of the main reasons I upgraded to CS6 was because I THOUGHT it had a great NR module.  And how was I to know that it's such a freakin' memory hog?  After all, even the Sys Requirements only say 2Gig RECOMMENDED, so you would THINK 16Gig MIGHT get the job done.
I just wish I could see the President of Adobe bobbing in the Pacific waiting for some help.

I could happily run all of those Audition effects in CS6 when I only had the maximum of 3.2GB of memory that Win 7 32 bit would allow. So you certainly should not be having any problems with 16GB of memory. AFAIAA the NR in CS6 works just the same as it did before.
The help file doesn't actually say "When I read the manual it warns that it's memory intensive". It says "Important: This effect requires significant processing." which is a bit different.
Lack of memory doesn't usually show itself as what you call "spitting and sputtering" in Audition. Although if the audio buffer is too small it can cause problems. Can you tell us a bit more about the rest of your system. What processor, which OS, where are Audition's audio caches assigned and what audio hardware and drivers are you using?
