Memory Upgrade for a Satellite Pro 4320

I own a Satellite Pro 4320. It has the factory installed memory (64 Mb), and I want to expand it. I read in the manual that it is possible to install up to 576 Mb. But in other web pages and documents, I read that 320 Mb is the maximum memory.
Does anybody know what is the right number?
Does anybody know where to find 256 Mb modules(if they can be installed)? I have found only 128 Mb modules.
Thanks in advance

Hi
I have found information that 320 MB are max. for this unit. I have also no lucky to find 256 MB RAM module for this unit. There are two possibilities. Either you can contact service partner in your country and order one module or you must find some notebook hardware parts offerer in your country.

The only problem is I cant seem to find one compatible! Any ideas what is require & where I could get it from?

The compatible module is PC100 256MB with part number PA3069U-1M25.

  • Memory upgrade on a Satellite Pro 4270XDVD

    Hello,
I need some help. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4270XDVD Notebook. I want to increase my memory as I have only the 64 megs that come with it. When I open the back of the computer to check the memory slots there are 2 empty ones. There is a Slot A and B. The problem is Slot A is broken. The 2 clips that hold the memory in are missing. Someone broke them off. Memory Slot B looks okay and I can put a stick of memory in it. The problem is my manual says not to use slot B if slot A is empty. Do you know why this is? Also is there any way of fixing the clips in Slot A without replacing the whole motherboard.
    Thanks for your help,
    Brad

    Hi Webmonkey
I think You can use slot B without any problem. If You have the memory expansion already then just try to insert it and check it out.
Normally on Toshiba notebooks there is no difference in priority between the memory slots.
Please note: I can not guarantee this for all models - but I say this from experience on some of them.

  • Compatible DVD-RW drives for Satellite Pro 4320

I want to upgrade the CD-ROM drive of my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4320 with a new DVD-RW drive. If i bought the following drive, will it work with my Notebook?
    Samsung SlimDrive SN-S082D
    http://www.samsung.com/Products/OpticalDiscDrive/SlimDrive/OpticalDiscDrive_SlimDrive_SN_S082D.asp?page=Speci fications
Or please, if you know of a DVD-RW drive that is compatible with this notebook, then share your knowledge so I and others know what to buy. Thanks.
Or are all drives available nowadays compatible?

Drive compatibility is always a problem by upgrade. The fact is that every ODD will not work with every notebook model. I presume it is because of different pin assignment.
Unfortunately I was not able to find any list of compatible ODDs for your notebook model. Sat Pro 4320 is pretty old unit and it will be probably not so easy to find compatible DVD-RAM drive. Try to contact authorized Toshiba service in your country. They are upgrade specialized and they should know which ODDs are compatible for this Satellite Pro notebook.

  • Which HDD can I install on Satellite Pro 4320?

I can install HDD 40gb in Satellite Pro 4320 or it is big for my notebook.

    Hi
I assume the notebook is very old because I have found in the internet that it was delivered with a 6GB HDD! Wow
I think if the notebook was delivered with the 6GB so it will be not possible to use a 40GB HDD. Im afraid the BIOS will not recognize such big size.
I think maybe its possible to use a 20GB but you know its only a suggestion. In my opinion you should test the HDD before buying.

  • I have new iMac with Lion installed; can I get a free upgrade for my MacBook Pro?

    Hello
I recently bought a 27" iMac with Lion installed.  Should I be able to download the upgrade for my MacBook Pro without paying.  If so what should I do.  If I go to the App Store I'll end up paying £20.99
    Any help gratefully received
    margaret

    Margaret,
No you will need to purchase the upgrade. However if you own other Macs you want to upgrade once you have purchased Lion then you can upgrade the additional machines. Of course the additional machines must be using the same Apple ID. As long as the additional machine's meet the minimum system requirements listed below you are all set.
    General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Re: Need Win 7 Recovery Disc for my Satellite Pro L750

    Hi all,
Could someone tell me where to download or get a copy of the OEM Win 7 Recovery disc for my Satellite Pro L750? The laptop has a new HDD without a working recovery partition and I don't the recovery CD.
    Help Please.

Yes of course you should make backup disks but this was my first personal laptop (unbelievable, right ? Never needed one before) and I wasn't aware i couldn't just make a recovery disk from any pc like I used to do for my desktop. The hdd is supposed to last for what, 5,000 hours ?
I would be lucky to have had more than 1,000 hours on it. And no games play either; it had an easy life.
As per Microsoft Forums I did a clean install of Windows 7 using a supposedly OEM setting download from Digital River (OEM in the 'channel' setting in the ei.efg file) but good old Toshiba must do something else in the hardware as slmgr /dli still states it's a 'retail' version so even though Microsoft would have given me a new product key (as to which i am entitled as i have purchased a licence when i bought the laptop), because the installation id states retail based, my genuine licence key number from the bottom of the laptop does not register as genuine when they check.
I tried my desktop pc oem windows 7 installation disk that I got with the pc (now there's a whacky idea, providing a disk with the purchase...) and no luck there either. The laptop was still locked to its own licence key and retail version. I'm guessing even if i bought a new retail windows copy, it still wouldn't work !
I still think $66 is far too much to pay to get the disks. I've already paid for the windows licence, But what choice has toshiba left me, other than to pay them their blood money.
I may be a slow learner, but I do learn. I will never buy a Toshiba laptop, or other Toshiba product again. Sure, other companies will have the same licensing setup, but I'm not angry at them !

  • Memory Upgrade for Satellite Pro L10

Can i add 512MB to the 256MB memory already on my laptop? And also what is the name of the memory supported by Satellite Pro L10.
    Thanx
    Femi

    Hi Femi,
Your L10 has two memory slots available and will support a maximum of 2Gb RAM (2 X 1Gb modules).
Check out the following URL for details of compatible modules for your notebook :-

  • Memory upgrade for Satellite L30-134

I have a Satellite L30-134 which appears to be running quite slowly - I think due to large amount of photos and itunes music.
I am wondering which is the easiest way to resolve - buy a memory upgrade (no idea how to change the memory though) or get an external hard drive?
And if I change the memory will I lose what is already saved on the laptop?

I agree with Ganz the bigger HDD will not improve the performance but only increase the available HDD space it would helps you to store more music and pic files on the HDD ;)
The memory upgrade would also not bring an performance boost of course the performance would be a little bit better because the most stuff would be handled directly in the memory and not temporally on the HDD but generally its not really noticeable.
Anyway if you want to upgrade the memory check this:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=25737&ft=m&st=3
    You have to use DDR2 533MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM

  • Question about Ram upgrade on a Satellite Pro A200

I want to purchase some internal memory for my A200 Satellite Pro Mod No,PSAE1E but I cannot find my model in the drop down lists, which memory do I need, I want to upgrade using two 1GB memory sticks, at present I have two 512MB sticks installed.

    Hi
    The compatible modules are: *DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) 200-PIN SODIMM*
As far as I know all notebooks from the A200 series can be upgraded up to *2GB* .
This means that one memory slot would support max 1GB RAM module.
As the previous user already said, the Kingston modules are not bad.
I use it in my notebook too and till now the modules are ok.
    Cheers

  • Final Cut express upgrade for intel macbook pro

I need help i used to have a G5 desktop and got DVD Studio Pro 3 and then i got Final Cut pro 4 with Upgrade, i try to install this software to the intel Macbook Pro wich i have 2 gig of memory, but if I install DVD Studio Pro 3 and Final Cut pro 4 it will run too slow and there is also the error pf agp graphic card missing i know that if you hit esc will run but it is to slow my hp 2.0ghz is faster i need help on which is the best upgrade for the intel mac so i don't have to purchase the software again i saw on www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade there are some option i call apple and they told me to buy the Final Cut Pro 4 or HD (4.5)for $199.00 but i want to make sure this is what i need to do! help

Yes you need to crossgrade to 5.1
The offer only lasts until the end of December and after that it'll probably go back up to $699.
Also I wanted to point out that you're in the Final Cut Express forum asking about Final Cut Pro. Not a huge deal but in the future you might get better results asking Final Cut Pro related questions in the Final Cut Pro forum.
i know that if you hit esc will run but it is to slow my hp 2.0ghz is faster
Your HP runs Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro faster?!? Huh...Bwa?!?
By this I assume you mean your HP runs comparative programs faster (Avid)

  • Upgrading my old Satellite Pro L300-1A9 (PSLB 9E)

Hi there! i am going to upgrade the cpu, ram, hdd and maybe heatsink. I would be very grateful if someone could help me
Here are the basic specs of the laptop:
Intel Centrino 2 Platform CPU: Intel Dual Core T3200 (2Ghz, 667 Mhz FSB, 1 MB L2).
    Chipset Intel GL40 Express
Integrated GPU: Intel GMA 4500MHD (1341 MB, PCIExpress 16x)
    2+1 GB RAM DDR2 800 Mhz
    HDD 160 GB 5.400 rpm Serial ATA-2.
I'd like to keep the upgrade under 200 EUR but i'm flexible. I am buying from Spain. These are the parts i've looked at
    T9300 6M Cache, 2.50 GHz, 800 MHz FSB --> 58 EUR here
4GB DDR2 800MHz sodimm RAM --> 55 EUR here, here or for example here
    MX100 SSD --> 69 EUR 128GB or 99 EUR 256 GB
Cheap heatsink for socket P (478) --> around 10 EUR, i.e. here or here or here
    Now my queries :
    Will all this be compatible?
Do you know any site where i can get cheaper ram? I'd love to get 2x4 GB
Is there any problem about the heatsink upgrade? Do you know if socket 775 heatsinks are compatible with 478? I ask because i like Zalman CNPS 8900 (33 EUR) but in the official documentation only mention 775 socket but i've read it is compatible (i can't find the link but i swear xD) Here is a post explaining the installation of this heatsink.
If you have any advice or info i should read before doing this please tell, thanks for reading, cheers!

You wouldn't need to upgrade the heatsink from a T3200 to a T9300.  The parts you listed should all work.  I have several posts on here about upgrading the L305 and L355's, which are the same series as the L300 and L350's.

  • CPU upgrade of my Satellite Pro L300-152

    hello
    my laptop is a :
    Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-152
    Model no. PSLB1E-01R015EN
    Celeron 560 2.13GHz
Can someone tell me which CPU I can safely upgrade this with, I use it in a fairly cool environment and would like just a few more 100mhz from it.
    Thank you for your support

Before we start discussion about CPU upgrade check please this Toshiba document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
My personal opinion is that CPU upgrade will not help much and you will not realize some big difference in notebook performance. In my opinion you need more RAM or better and faster SSD. This brings better and more performance than some CPU with 100mhz more than old one.

  • Memory upgrade problems on Satellite L30-134

I have just bought 2 x 1GB memory PC4200 for my L30-134 and installed them they work fine in BIOS, show up and read as they should do, but when windows is booting up it will crash with both modules installed, only ever gets to the screen with the loading bar going across and then I get blue screen.
Forgot to make a note of the error code I am afraid... (Fool I know). If I remove one of the modules and install the original 512 module with just 1 of the 1GB ones it will work fine. BIOS has been updated to the latest 3.10 version and still I get the same problem...
because all seems fine from within BIOS I am thinking that its more likely to be a software (windows) problem of some kind maybe some corrupt data in the registry or a virus maybe... has anybody any ideas?
Also, the laptop is actually my step sons and he really wants to have the CPU upgraded from the Celeron 410 to one that's a little faster. When first looking into this we was told that several CPUs were compatible (although not really worth the hassle of installing) they were cel m 450 2 GHz, pent dual core t2060 and t2080, and also the core duo t2250,so he bought the t2250,and no surprises it wouldn't work, or should I say it powered up with no display and the shut off and just epeated the cycle. So did not take a genius to work out it wasn't compat...
I know the t2080 are used in the L30's and are 1.73 533 FSB with 1MB L2 cache- 65nm and do stepping. The t2250 is identical apart from the L2 cache is 2MB and the stepping varies from do to mo depends when u bought it... seeing as ow he already has the CPU he's gonna sell it on and use the cash to buy the one that will work. If anybody has any info that could help make sure that he does not end up going round in circles I would really appreciate it...
Oh and just to make you all laugh it was Toshiba tech line staff member that told him that the CPU would work and that the L30 was able to take 2 x 1GB memory and never once mentioned that there may be issues with both upgrades...
Issues as in neither soddin work....lmao

    Hi!
The specs. you posted are correct. Xpress 200 could support dual channel: "Variants available with single or dual channel system memory support ". But there is nothing about dual channel mode in Xpress 200M specs. I have identical modules, but EVEREST doesn't say the modules are running in dual channel mode. So I think the info you found on the website gives the answer, but here are some explanation from Wikipedia to clarify the definitions:
    *Dual-channel:*
"Dual-channel-enabled memory controllers utilize two 64-bit data channels, resulting in a total bandwidth of 128-bits, to move data from RAM to the CPU. In order to achieve this, two or more DDR/DDR2 SDRAM memory modules must be installed into matching banks, which are usually color coded on the motherboard. These separate channels allow each memory module access to the memory controller, increasing throughput bandwidth."
    *DDR:*
"DDR SDRAM or double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory is a class of memory integrated circuit used in computers. It achieves greater bandwidth than the preceding single data rate SDRAM by transferring data on the rising and falling edges of the clock signal (double pumped). Effectively, it doubles the transfer rate without increasing the frequency of the memory bus."
    *DDR2:*
"Like DDR before it, DDR2 cells transfer data both on the rising and falling edge of the clock (a technique called "dual pumping"). The key difference between DDR and DDR2 is that in DDR2 the bus is clocked at twice the speed of the memory cells, so four words of data can be transferred per memory cell cycle. Thus, without speeding up the memory cells themselves, DDR2 can effectively operate at twice the bus speed of DDR."
    *UMA (Unified Memory Architectrue):*
"In computer architecture, Shared Memory Architecture (SMA) refers to a design where the graphics chip does not have its own dedicated memory, and instead shares the main system RAM with the CPU and other components."
