  • Memory Upgrade Satellite L300-1A3

I have an L300-1A3 with 4Gb Ram. Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I would like to know if I can upgrade memory to 2X4Gb modules ?

    Hi
You can use max 4GB RAM. This means that you can use 2 x 2GB DDR2 RAM (800 MHz) memory modules.

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite Pro L40-15d

    Hi
I have Satellite Pro L40-15d with 512 memory (Samsung) but I wont upgrade to 1GB. I have Kingston ktt667d2/1g I have tray to put in to both slots but nothing work I cant switch on computer.
But when I change for old one laptop is ok. What can I do? Install special program or update BIOS or maybe the memory stick is broken.
    Regards

    Hi
    The notebook doesnt boot after the memory upgrade due to these different issues;
    - memory modules are not compatible together
    - memory modules are not compatible with the notebook
    - memory modules are faulty
    - one of memory slots is faulty
In most case the memory module replacement helps.
One hint; did you try to switch the memory modules in the slots? Sometimes this helps.
Several weeks ago I have updated my memory and the notebook didnt boot.
I thought its a memory malfunction but after module switching the notebook booted correctly.
    Good luck

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite A50-104

I NEED TO FIND A 512MB MEMORY UPGRADE FOR MY A50/104 ANYONE NO THE CORRECT ONE TO BUY, I WAS TOLD ON EBAY THAT 512 DDR SODIMM IS THIS RIGHT. ALSO HOW DO I CHECK ON MY LAPTOP FOR THESE DETAILS IF THERE ARE ANY AND ANY OTHER SPEC BATTERY ,HARDDRIVE ETC

    Hi
You have several ways to find out what memory module is compatible and supported.
You can use a diagnostic too like Everest, you will check the user manual or the Toshiba website for details or you will contact the service in your country for supported modules.
I will try to answer the question: The Satellite A50 should support PC2700 DDR-RAM like these parts:
    PC2700 256MB (PA3311U-1M25)
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G)
Now its your choice. You can also google for the offers
By the way: Visit the Toshiba Options & accessories site. There you will find compatible parts

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite Pro A40

Can anyone please advise where is the best place I can get a memory upgrade for my Satellite Pro A40 laptop.
I think my machine is a PC2700 DDR. I am looking for either 512mb or 1gb.
    Thanks in advance.
    Christine

    Hi
On the Satellite Pro A40 you will find 2 memory slots and you can upgrade the memory to max 2GB (2x1024MB)
It should be possible to use these modules:
    PC2100 512MB (PA3164U-1M51)
    PC2100 1GB (PA3278U-1M1G)
    And
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G
I purchase the compatible parts and devices always form the Toshiba service partner in my country because so I'm 100% sure that this parts are compatible.
So I would recommend you also to buy the modules form the ASP in your country.

  • Memory upgrade for Satellite L30-134

I have a Satellite L30-134 which appears to be running quite slowly - I think due to large amount of photos and itunes music.
I am wondering which is the easiest way to resolve - buy a memory upgrade (no idea how to change the memory though) or get an external hard drive?
And if I change the memory will I lose what is already saved on the laptop?

I agree with Ganz the bigger HDD will not improve the performance but only increase the available HDD space it would helps you to store more music and pic files on the HDD ;)
The memory upgrade would also not bring an performance boost of course the performance would be a little bit better because the most stuff would be handled directly in the memory and not temporally on the HDD but generally its not really noticeable.
Anyway if you want to upgrade the memory check this:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=25737&ft=m&st=3
    You have to use DDR2 533MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM

  • Re: Memory upgrade on Satellite L10-202

What type of memory, specific for SATELLITE L10-202 ( i.e.Toshiba part number or equivalents), should I use on operation memory upgrade up to 1GB?

    Hi
The L10-202 Satellite supports the 200-Pin PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR SODIMM memory modules and can be upgraded up to 1GB (2x 512Mb)
    Check this site for details:

  • Re: Memory upgrade for a Satellite 1800-921 PIII 1.1GHz...

I am trying to find out the memory upgrade for my Satellite 1800-921 PIII 1.1GHz... Part Number : PS183E-00HTT-EN .
It currently has a Nanya 256MB SDR-133 Mhz-CL3 & I undestand it can be upgraded with an additional 256Mb card.
The only problem is I cant seem to find one compatible! Any ideas what is require & where I could get it from?

    Hello
The compatible module is PC100 256MB with part number PA3069U-1M25.

  • Satellite A100 shuts down after memory upgrade

Consider me as 1 of the thickie bunch.. Not even sure wot im talkin bout but here goes n e way...........
    Have a Satellite A100 570 ( PSAA2E)..........
Have tried several different online sites lookin for memory upgrade. Didn't have the witt to use toshiba site...... Ended up going with Crucial.........
Ran diagnostic on laptop and was sent the module a needed.or so i thought....... wrong 1 or 1s as i bought 2 x 1G modules in order to " double up".....
Got my money back as they were not compatable with my system.. something to do with density problems....
Tried company called OFFTEK........ they seemed to know what they were talkin about....... I have from Offtek. at present a..........
200 Pin 1.8v DDR2 PC2-4200 SoDimm....... but Toshiba have recommended below......
    1GB PC2-4300 DDR2 Memory (533MHz)
    Part Number: PA3411U-2M1G
    1024MB (1GB) Memory PC2-4300 DDR2 (533MHz)
Theres an obvious difference ...... 4200 and 4300. But im not sure if its a significant difference........... or what it means
Have updated bios to most recent version and basically updated everything toshiba had to offer for this model...........
Ran EVEREST and it recognises the 1G module but when i take out the original 512mb module the laptop starts for about 3 seconds then shuts down...
this repeats about 5 times then complete shutdown.....
I dont like opening the back cover too often but this is the 3rd module ....
Not sure whats meant to happen if the module is working...i.e start up message..not sure if windows recognises 1G module....
Would it be safer bet to send Offtek module and stick with toshiba option.....
    Thanks in advance.....

Cheers R2........ suppose at this stage i could start rhyming off a load of star wars lines but uve probably hears them all before.......
N e way......... checked out the link u posted..........very useful......
The module described is identical to what i have.............As with previous reply ( above ) im not sure what to do.........might take up Offteks offer of replacing the module but slightly concerned it might have same outcome......Still not happy bout opening the cover so much........nut needs must i suppose

  • Memory Upgrade on Satellite Pro A60

I have upgraded an A60 Pro with a 1GB memory up but the Control Panel /System/ General tab still shows it as having 192MB RAM. This limits me downloading some Security Software from BT Yahoo.
Can anyone advise on how I can make the machine recognise the new RAM or is the 192 MB RAM noted different memory from the new memory upgrade?

If you use non-compatible RAM module it is logic that system can not recognize it correctly. I do not know who is the manufacturer of this 1 GB RAM module but if you want to use compatible one pick up some info about PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G) or check Kingston web page.

  • Satellite L650 - ODD does not read most of CDs or DVD's after BIOS update

While copying DVD's I was asked to do a bios upgrade from the software that came on my laptop, so i thought coming from toshibsa it should be safe. I closed all my applications and let the update happen, restarted my pc and tried to continue to copy my dvd's.
Now my dvd writer does not read most of my cds or DVD's,originals as well.
I have managed to get hold of my previous Bios version after quite a battle before the update to see if i can go back to my old version but the exe file runs a program that says the version is older then the one i am using so it will not load it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have two days to copy 100 DVD's for a client and i am unable to do this now,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop running windows 7 64 bit 8 gigs memory with a SSD Hard drive

    > i can go back to my old version but the exe file runs a program that says the version is older then the one i am using so it will not load it
I dont think that BIOS is the problem here the point is that the CD and DVD support details are stored in the CD/DVD drive firmware and NOT in the notebook BIOS.
So in my opinion the BIOS update is not the reason for your issue.
I think you should check if laser lens cleaning would help you to read the disks.
Use an cotton wool tip and alcohol fluid to clean gently the laser lens.

  • Memory Upgrade on a U925T

How do you do a memory upgrade on a Satellite U925T-2300.  I have an 8 GB memory module I would like to install and can't find the door to do it!  Help.

It's a little tricky to do, but relatively straightforward-  Here are the basic steps:
    1. Slide the touchscreen flat so that your system is in tablet mode and make sure that it's completely turned off, not just hibernating or sleeping.
    2. Flip it over with the back facing up.  Carefully remove all of the little rubber stoppers, those are the screw covers.  Note where each stopper fits onto the back because some of them are different "depths".  Set them aside "in order" with the sticky side up.  There is one long strip type rubber stopper, just peel up either end to get at the screws, but don't peel off the entire strip.
    3. Remove all of the tiny screws and note the location of each one as you remove it.  All but one of the screws are phillips, there is a single torx (star-shaped) screw and the opening is very small, so you may need something like an optician's screwdriver to remove it.  If you have a small enough flat-head screw driver, it can be used to remove the torx shaped screw: http://www.instructables.com/id/Removing-Security-Torx-Star-Screw-with-a-Flathea/
    4. Carefully run your fingernail around the edge of the back plate, you'll hear the little snaps pop open.  Don't use anything harder than your fingernail or you'll scar up the edge of the back plate.
    5. Set the back plate aside. Near where you saw the torx screw you'll spot the RAM module, it should have a little sheet of clear plastic covering it.  Gently tug upward on the plastic to flip the module up at an angle.  Gently push the little silver arms on either side of the module outward to release the module, noting as you do so the alignment of the slot connectors.
    6. Slot the new RAM module into place, the gold connectors should completely disappear into the slot.  Gently snap the silver arms back into place into the notches on the sides of the new module, then carefully push the module flat.  There should be a soft click as it snaps back into place.
    7. Snap the back plate back into place, making sure that it's seated well along all four edges.  Flip the unit over and turn it on; if you've done everything correctly, it should boot up without a hitch.  Double check that the system "sees" the new RAM by right clicking on the Computer icon (either on the desktop or in Windows Explorer) and checking the Properties screen.
    8. If the Properties sheet shows the new upgrade, then power down the unit, replace the screws in the back, replace the rubber stoppers in their correct positions, and you're done.
    9.  If the system shows an error upon booting up, it probably means that you haven't seated the RAM module properly.  That's why you don't want to replace the screws and stoppers until you've double checked that everything is working.
    Hope this helps!

  • Satellite L650-0E8 - Blue screen so reinstall Windows?

    Hey,
I have a Satellite L650-0E8 running Windows 7 Home Premium that came preinstalled. The occaisional BSOD has turned up that I have read elsewhere as less of a probloem in Windows 7 as it is easier to trigger. With that information I disregarded a few crashes. Recently it has happened more frequently, twice in one day this week.
I have not performed any hardware alterations since purchase and the only windows changes have been the routine updates. I have run both HDD and memory checks, both returned no problems.
I am happy to reinstall windows or revert to factory settings as I have my documents backed up but do not recall recieving a Windows disc with the computer, is this required or is there another way around the problem?
    Cheers

    Hi weserneo,
Can you see the blue screen code like 0x000000123? If yes this would be useful to identify the exact problem. With this code you can search on Microsoft Knowledge Base.
If you cant see the bluescreen code you must disable the automatic restart:
Click on Start and then Control Panel
Click on the System and Maintenance
    Click on the System link
    Click the Advanced system settings
uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.
Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window
Click OK in the System Properties window
    Reboot
By the way: Do you also get blue screens in safe mode?

  • Can I use more than one flash-drive for ready-boost on Satellite L650/0ed

    Hi,
I have a toshiba Satellite L650/0ed, is it alright if i use more than one 8gb flash-drive for 'ready boost' - what is the maximum number of flash-drives use can dedicate to 'ready-boost'.
In addition, if i use a 16gb flash-drive, will this dedicate more memory to 'ready-boost'.
Why is the seagate 1tb 3.5 expansion drive not compatible for ready-boost.
    Thank you,
    -Brent907

    Hi mate
Please check this Microsoft page which describes the ReadyBosst
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/readyboost
There you can find this statement:
+ReadyBoost works with most flash storage devices. In Windows 7, it can handle more flash memory and even multiple devices *up to eight* , for a maximum 256 gigabytes (GB) of additional memory.+
    Hopefully this can be helpful!
