I bought a camcorder Sony HVRA1U-DVCAM. I've a memorystick duo blue magicgate sony of 32 mg. I would like to buy and to put a Sony MSHX32B - Flash memory card - 32 GB - Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX. Is-it possible ? What is the solution ?
Thanks.

  • Memorystick Duo 4GB vs. Ricoh 5in1 memory card reader in the N200

I have a SanDisk Ultra II 4GB Memorystick Pro Duo + adapter.
My N200 won't recognize my 4GB Memorystick (with the adapter), but it would recognize another 512MB SanDisk Memorystick Pro.
I tried reinstalling the latest drivers from Lenovo ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67827 ) - when I insert the 4GB MS it would show up as a Memorystick Pro with drive letter E: under "Computer", but when I click it, it would ask me to insert a disk. When I remove the MS, the drive would disappear.
I then tried the latest drivers from here: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/ricoh.htm - it would again show up under "Computer", but now clicking it would keep telling me that I need to format it, and also when removing the card, the E: drive would remain as MS Pro.
The adapter seems fine, as I'm using it in the camera.
A driver issue? Would there ever be a fix? Does a 4GB MS work for anyone? Anyone to turn to?
Thanks in advance for any shred of information!

    Hi
Check the BIOS settings and try to change the boot order to ODD HDD FDD LAN or something like this.
But why you dont contact the notebook technician (ASP in your country) and ask for the removing of this not compatible card?
    You should definitely do this.

  • *SOLVED* Boot from ubs-memorystick

Hi out there, hope someone can help me with this problem. I have made a regular dos-boot-disc on a usb memorystick, have tried 2 different, sandisc and a noname.
I have a pt880 motherboard and when i press F11 during bootup i've got the bootmenu and the stick is shown there. I choose it, but after all bios checks it says something like "search for boot records on usb bla bla bla". And there it hangs, the whole computer hangup. :(
Anyone got an idea what i have missed? I mean if the bootdisc is wrong done (but its not) it should say it cant find any boot record of boot files.

  • Error copying songs to MemoryStick/Mobile Phone

So I purchased a new album on iTunes after they released the DRM, since I couldn't find that particular album anywhere. Anyway, I downloaded the songs and now I'm trying to copy them to the M2 stick for my W880i from Sony Ericsson.
The problem is that after the third song it says it can't find the location where to place it. I suspect the songs are broken, because I got enough free space and I can still copy other songs onto it. Anyone know what to do? I'm quite ****** off now, because I wanted to listen to these songs on my way to work.

You may get a better response if you actually told people what phone you are trying to transfer songs to!
Do other types of files transfer ok? Pictures for example?
Does your phone actually support file transfer? Some network operators disable this function to force you to download/buy stuff from them.
Have you tried it on another Mac?
What format are the songs you are trying to send in? MP3, AAC etc.
If they are protected iTunes Music Store purchases, they won't playback on anything other than those crappy Motorolas with iTunes built-in.
Can you transfer files from the Phone to the Mac ok?

  • W520 i7-2860QM with 2 memory modules and CPU-Z Reporting them as Slots 1 and 3?

Is this normal for CPU-Z (1.59, 1.60, 1.61) to report a matched kit pair of properly populated memory modules as Slots 1 and 3 in "dual" mode?   One is under the keypad in the upper slot #0 while the other is in slot #1 under the chasis on the left closest to the DVD (with the black plastic frame).
Slots 2 and 4 in CPU-Z are reported empty.
I think this is okay and just the way CPU-Z is setup to report the SPD info but would like to double check out here with others using only 2 of their 4 memory slots.
I'm running a fresh clean bloatware-free Win7 Pro SP1 installed to my Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SATA-III SSD and holding at BIOS 1.36.  I'm using 1600 speed 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance modules (a 2x8 kit with adjacent module serial numbers).  Optimus and the integrated graphics are both disabled in BIOS and the unit never leaves its 170W Series 3 Plus docking station w/ external monitor, keyboard and mouse ..... it runs with the lid closed nice and cool, plus quiet also.
CPU-Z also reports I'm actually running at 1600 on the memory and I have thrown every torture test I know of at this configuration and have not had any issues yet over the last 6 weeks.   Benchmark programs are also all on the very high end of the ranges published for W520 units ..... probably with a lot of help from that 512GB SSD SATA-III Samsung 840 Pro.
I never plan to ever use the on-board graphics, so I'm getting ready to install my other identical Corsair 2x8 kit next week and see if stability issues arise at 32GB using 4 modules ...... will hold at BIOS 1.36 unless things start happening at 32GB.
Thanks in advance for any input about the way CPU-Z reports pairs of memory modules.

Sorry for asking, but what's rms? I found nothing on google that seemed to fit in, but I guess you mean to get rid of the PSU and get a new (better) one.
I also ran memtest86 for 3+ hours and it seemed that one of my memorysticks was heavily corrupted.
So I removed that one and ran memtest86 again for an hour without any problems, but the volt keep dropping anyway... and the freezing-problem persists.
Hopefully I can purchase a PSU on approval and run some test.
Thanks for the quick answers guys!
edit: By the way, which brand do you recommend for the PSU? Right now I have Topower, cheapest one I could find when I bought my computer about a year ago (only bought the two extra memorysticks last week).

  • Running your memory the right way/ running 4 DIMM slots on P55 boards

    Dear Forumers,
Lately there are a lot of questions, about motherboards from the P55 range not starting on first boot.
This could be due to wrongly arranged memory DIMM's in your slots.
Some people out there, like me, were convinced that you could choose either dualchannel.
    Well, its not the case.
Like I was pointed out earlier, you must use a certain slot, otherwise the memory will not be detected properly.
According to Intel specs, DIMM0, must always be populated.
This means that to run dualchannel with only 2 DIMM's, that you must check your manual and look carefully which slot is for DIMM0.
According to the manual, it will be slot DIMM1 on your board, but watch out, this is not the slot closest to cpu, on current MSI P55 boards, (CD-53, GD-41, GD-45, GD-55, GD-65, GD-80 and the Big Bang Trinergy), its the second slot from cpu.
    Picture of P55 mainboard:
From a manual from a MSI P55 board:
So for dualchannel with 2 sticks, you must populate the black slots, DIMM1 and DIMM3 and for single channel with one stick DIMM1 most be used.
Please bear in mind that DIMM0 in Intel spec.sheets means DIMM1 on your board.
The link to technical sheet from intel about : i7 8xx cpu's
    http://download.intel.com/design/processor/datashts/322164.pdf
A short quote with the relevant data:
    Quote
    Rules for Populating Memory Slots
In all modes, the frequency of system memory is the lowest frequency of all memory
modules placed in the system, as determined through the SPD registers on the
memory modules. The system memory controller supports one or two DIMM
connectors per channel for unbuffered DIMMs. For dual-channel modes, both channels
must have at least one DIMM connector populated and for single-channel mode only a
single-channel may have one or more DIMM connectors populated.
Note: DIMM0 must always be populated within any memory configuration. DIMM0 is the
furthest DIMM within a channel and is identified by the CS#[1:0], ODT[1:0], and
    CKE[1:0] signals.
For more info, please read datasheet
Also, let me remind you that this goes for ALL P55 boards out there, its not just an MSI thing.
This has to do with the fact that the memorycontroller now sits on die on the Lynnfield cpu's.
Im hoping to end the debate, like I had (and I was wrong), about the fact that you should be able to use any channel, like you could on the S775 boards, you just cant anymore.
    Update 26 december 2009:
Running all 4 DIMM slots with memorysticks
It seems that a lot of people are having problems running with all memoryslots occupied, e.g. not booting, BSOD and other crazy stuff.
If you have such problems try the following first, before running back to the store to swap stuff out.
    - Raise Vdimm to 1.65V, its still a save voltage for the board and this way the memory gets a little more power and in 99% of the cases, this will solve the issue.
    - Try booting/installing with one stick first in DIMM1 on the board  (see above).
    - If it boots/installs, let it go all the way till windows is done.
    - Turn off pc and add a second DIMM in DIMM slot 3, restart and let i boot all the way again in windows till its done.
    - Do the same again for DIMM2 and last DIMM4.
We know its a bit of a hassle, but it worked for a lot of people, so be sure to try this before anything else.
And again, its not just an MSI thing, there are more manufacturers out there with the same issues, this also has to do with the fact the memorycontroller now sits on die with cpu.
I'll edit if new boards come out.

Upgrading Mother Board (P55-GD65 with i3 processor) BIOS [/b] from 1.3 to 1.6 corrected my Computer re-starting soon after the Boot sequence began.  Putting the four 2GB RAM in one at a time in the suggested order in sequence with the socket numbers fixed the problem earlier, but only for the next, one boot.  The problem then returned as long as all 4 DRAM were installed.  Raising the DRAM voltage did not improve things.
I used the Forum's program for flashing the new version of Bios using USB Flash Memory for boot into DOS.
Thank you, DaLoona, for your post notifying me this had to do with the motherboard and was probably not a failure, but a "normal" occurance in certain conditions.  I was no longer inclined to return the board and perhaps end up with the same error in the replacement, and no longer worried about the rebooting doing damage.
In Bios Setup I had already reduced an entry to do with number of overclocking tries from 3 to 1 (the minimum choice) which reduced the number of re-boots to 1.

  • Looking for a type of app

I really liked the Note part of the iPod Videos. The little program where you could get any word document or notepad document on your computer, then download it right onto your iPod and view it there. I want something simple like that for the iPhone. The note application that comes on the iPhone is just for typing notes, I want to be able to like, take some poems, or essays, or a list of vocabulary words or something, and view them on my iPhone whenever. Is there any app or way I can do this on the iPhone? Thank you.

If you've got a Wi-Fi connection (only way to transfer those files unless you want to email them all to yourself at least until 3.0) there's a lot of app's out there from airsharing to memorystick then there's also the reader programs like quickfiles and then also the book programs like Stanza and eReader etc... as well. Have a look through the app store in the "Productivity" category.

I would appreciate an answer, since some older posts on this subject have been met with impolite and dismissive responses. If anyone has anything constructive to add, please post in response.
    Sony VAIO   Windows XP

Had trouble posting entire messaage on first attempts. Hopes this works for you. Pardon if this is a duplication.
I got an Error 4261 message on my computer some months ago while attempting to backup my iTunes music ---about Dec. 2006. Hopefully, the problem is now solved. This was a difficult and time consuming issue to resolve. I shall provide some details of this resolution (worked for me) as I know some others are having the same problem. I hope to post this message to others with 4261 errors.
I have a Dimension E510 computer bought in 2006. I am using Windows XP. My CD ROM burner is as follows: HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GWA4164B. I wonder if you have the same type CD ROM.
At first, several thoughts came to mind. Google? Never listen to music again. Invest in a sledge hammer? I decided to try and fix the problem and would work on this for the next eight months. Recently, I decided that this problem had to go away. I tried various things to correct the problem often with technical assistance as the following indicate:
Changed copy speed//Did a restore on my computer (no help)// reversed restore
    Updated iTunes files//Did virus scans
Contacted a company techie—Discovered my warranty was still good. Cdrom driver was updated. We got the iTunes program to copy a disk. Problem solved?? Time passes.
The problem reoccurs. I contacted a techie again. He was able to get another program to copy on the cdrom I was using to copy iTunes music. I was told that I should contact an iTunes rep. $$. (One can save files (ex. photos) to a new file created on the desk top and copy them to a cdrom---a test method used.)
I read suggestions about updating my BIOS and chipset on the iTunes message board. Not being a techie I wasn’t so sure about this. Time passes.
    I didn’t buy music.
I read messages saying that I should backup my iTunes music.
Called techie again. Updated cdrom driver. We were able to copy data using the same cdrom used for the iTunes copy. (Again this was not a fix. It was indicative of an intermittent cdrom failure occurring over time, and one manifesting itself in iTunes.) I asked him to try to copy another. Amazingly, this copy failed. Something was wrong. Now we’re getting somewhere. Techie eliminated select startup files to try to determine source of a software error, if one. This did not fix the problem.
Techie deleted a couple registry files. (I don’t like deleting registry files because they serve a valuable purpose, but I’ not a techie. Later I would have to do a file repair on iTunes and a photo program. iTunes has a repair feature which was on my desktop—a holdover from a previous attempt to fix things with an iTunes update. I ran this without harming my music files, and this repaired the program.)
Techie said I may have a problem with my current brands of CD-R disks. I bought and tried other brands---four all total. This did not work.
I happened to attempt to copy some pictures as I was interested in having some developed. To my surprise, my computer stopped the copy citing an error with the copy process. The problem now manifested itself with another software program. Heretofore, I could successfully copy pictures using the same cdrom but not iTunes music.
I called the techie again. I told him what I had done and new error in copying other files to the cdrom. We attempted to use other programs to copy music and picture files on the cdrom. (My thinking is, if they had worked, then the cdrom was OK, and the problem was a software problem and likely involving iTunes.) We could not get any software programs to copy files to the cdrom in question. This was a clear indication that the cdrom was defective. We likely used up ten CD-R disks in these latest attempts.
Looking back, there was a subtle indication of a problem with the cdrom. There was a problem with one of the songs I had copied to a new disk (No. 24 of 24 songs on a disk). The song was copied with errors. This shouldn’t happen.
The company replaced cdrom free of charge the next morning. Wow!
I tried the new cdrom and began burning iTunes music right away. No 4261 error message. I also copied pictures to the same cdrom without any error messages. I also successfully used other brands of CD-R disks.
Replacing the cdrom on my computer fixed the 4261 error on my computer. I hope something here will be of help to some of you who have the same problem.
As I mentioned earlier I had problems with iTunes and a photo program after cdrom installation but fixed them. I also experienced problems with Windows Media Player and Roxio/Sonic. They didn’t want to recognize the new drive (E:). Restore made things worst so I undid this. I spoke to a tech again about these issues as I wasn’t certain of the scope/nature of problem. We updated both programs with updates from company support pages. This seems to have fixed the problem. Point made here was the need to keep files updated with the latest and greatest. Having had Windows ME in the past, I was reluctant to change my files too often. Now I have no choice but to do this. Many thanks to Techie.
The thought in my mind now is whether performing updates and specifically on Windows Media Player would have fixed the error to begin with. I don’t know, but I did run an update on my iTunes, and there are no updates for my photo program . Looking back I would have tried the updates first before I replaced the cdrom.
    Kindest regards. 08/13/07

  • G62 can't find drivers for USB mouse

For some reason I can't get my wired mouse OP-35D to work with Windows 7. When I plug it in ti the USBslot the PC can identify that its a USB mouse but can't find any drivers. I've downloded drivers from the manufacturers homepage but it's still not working. Tried four different USB mouse both wired and wireless, same result. USB-memorysticks, USB-harddrives are working fine.
    Solution anyone?

Open Device manager and Expand USB Controllers, right click on everything labeled as device or hub and select uninstall, do this one at a time. Once this is done restart the notebook.
Do Not uninstall anything labeled  Controller.

Please have a look at my system and give me ideas how I could eventuially improve it.
    regards

I agree completely with Harm. A 550W PSU of average (or middling) quality like the one that you have (which, by the way, is based on a CWT PSH or PSH-II platform) is not quite enough to power a power-hungry CPU like the i7-950 of yours, especially if a better-performing GPU such as the the GTX 560 Ti that Harm suggested is added along with two or more additional hard drives. (Your system currently has exactly two hard drives, which is the absolute minimum that you should have in an editing system unless you want performance to be slower than an old Pentium 4. However, one of those hard drives spins at only 5400 RPM - far from ideal for an editing system. You really want all of the hard drives inside that system to spin at 7200 RPM.)
Speaking of the GTX 560 Ti, you don't need the one with 448 cores since a non-overclocked (read: stock speed) i7-950 can't take full advantage of that higher-end GPU (and please note that the GTX 560 Ti 448 is actually a GTX 570 with one of its shader units disabled whereas the standard GTX 560 Ti is a different chip altogether). The standard GTX 560 Ti, with its 384 CUDA cores and a 256-bit DDR5 memory bus width, would suffice. However, if you do wish to overclock the i7-950 (to at least 3.8GHz), then the 448-core edition of the GTX 560 Ti would make more sense. (The 9500 GT that you currently have is not only old, it's slow and weak as well: It has only 32 CUDA cores, and it uses really, really crummy DDR2 RAM with only a 128-bit memory bus width. Such a card would have made the GPU-accelerated mode significantly slower than software-only mode during certain operations within CS5.x.)
By the way, I was wrong six months ago about the Dell systems sold during Fall 2011 that came with a 1.25GB version of the GTX 560 Ti: I had assumed that that card had 448 cores. Well, I did more research, and discovered that there was an OEM version of the GTX 560 Ti which did use a 320-bit DDR5 memory bus - but it had only 352 CUDA cores. It uses the same GPU as the GTX 570 and GTX 580, but with only 11 of its 16 shader units enabled, making it a GTX 570 with four of that GPU's shader units disabled. The Dell version of the GTX 560 Ti is, indeed, only a 352-core unit that was based off of a GTX 570. That made the Dell GTX 560 Ti expensive for what it is - at around $300, it cost as much money as the 448-core version of the GTX 560 Ti sold for around that time.

  • Troubles reinstalling Mountain Lion

I installed a new hard drive in my mac and want to do a fresh install.  I did the firmware upgrade for internet recovery to my mid-2010 macbook pro and am trying to use internet recovery to reinstall mountain lion.  It says that my apple ID has not purchased Lion, which I know for a fact I purchased Lion and Mountain Lion.  I called apple support on the phone and the guy was super unhelpful and told me to go in store.  Soonest genius appoinment is not for a few days and I need my computer ASAP.  I would use the 10.6 disc that came with my computer but it will not boot to that either (by using "c" or "option").
    So two options:
    1) How can I make the 10.6 disc work? (cleaned it, tried to zap the PRAM and reset the SMC)
    2) How can I repurchase Lion/Mountain Lion without a second mac?
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

I have about the same problem: I bought Mountain Lion and when I try to install on my new ssd drive on macbook pro i7 early 2011 it says that I dont have Lion. I have made a bootable USB memorystick with Mountain Lion but when I start the installation from it, I can't see my ssd in the window of hard drive install location. Only the USB drive is visible.
If I start network installation, I don't have a Mountain Lion option, only Lion. In Lion installer my ssd is visible but I can't complete the installation because of the bug with the Apple ID wich block me. I don't understand why do I have to have Lion if I already bought Mountain Lion.
The ssd is corectly formated. I even try to make GUI partiton but all in vain.
Please help us with this problem.
    Thank you

  • Optimal DVD drive for G3 beige, e.g. Pioneer DVR-110D

The CD RW drive in my beige DT is on its way out (it will get a directory of an audio CD but won't play audio CDs at all) and I'm thinking I might as well go for a DVD RW drive since they're only slightly more expensive than a CD RW. Many people in this forum seem to be going with the Pioneer 110D model Is this a reasonable choice? An earlier post on this forum mentioned a problem with waking from sleep (which I use) in OS 9 (which I use extensively). Has anybody else had this problem with this model?
One other thing I've read about the Pioneer 110D is inability to use it as "DVD-RAM", but one may be able to flash it to a 110 model. Is this something I even need to consider? I'm familiar with RAM but not in this particular context. Is this using the DVD drive with RW media as extra RAM similar to using a HD as extra RAM?
I've seen a number of issue posts regarding Sony drives. What about others such as Lite-On? I've checked xlr8yourmac.com but there isn't much on current model drives in beige G3s.
Along these lines, is Dragonburn software worth the small extra cost ($10) or should I just splash out for Toast ($90?)? Again, I'm mostly going to be using this with OS 9. Dragonburn seems to be supplied with both OS 9 and OS X versions on the CD whereas I doubt I could get both in one package with Toast (and maybe not OS 9 version at all).
    Thanks,
    Brian
    G3 beiges:DT, 9.2.2, 120GBide; DT, 9.2.2/OS X.3, 120GBide; MT, 8.6/9.2.2, 128MB,

My G3 is a G3 300 MT, 384 MB RAM, rev. 3. I've got the original 6 GB harddrive, and added a 120 GB Maxtor. The DVD-burner replaced the Apple CD-rom, and there's still the ZIP-drive.
I added a scsi adapter, and a USB 2.0 card. The first is connected to a RAID (7x9.2 GB scsi HD's) which is working in OS X, but not in OS 9. The second works in both X and 9, but my USB memorystick doesn't work in 9 for some reason. Not a biggie, but odd. A USB mouse works in both.
Apparently, the AHA-2940 UW only works in Windows, but I am able to use it in OS X, although the profiler doesn't show the correct model of the card.
    That enough?
One thing tho, this might be because a 300 MHz Mac is just not fast enough, or the original videocard not advanced enough (I suspect the latter), I have not been able so far to smoothly play movies on DVD on the Mac. It stutters a lot.

  • USB stick won't mount on mac mini, it works perfectly on my macbook

Both of them are osx lion.
On the mini the led of the 256Mb USB stick (and still plenty of space!) gives short flashes every second, and won't mount on my desktop, in finder. It doesn't show up in disk utility.
The mac mini is the most recent server model. I tried USB ports on the back of the mac mini, and also on the connected thunderbolt display. Other memorysticks work well. Only this particular one doesn't work on the mini.
The memorystick works perfectly in my 2008 macbook pro. Plug it in, it mounts as it should do.
    What can i do?

In Disk Utility, once you highlight a Drive or Partition, you'll see Verify Disk, (blue arrow), & if a drive you're not booted from then Repair Drive, (red arrow), will be an option also...
I'm thinking you may have to copy everything off it & see if you can Format it FAT32.
