Memphis M-class 10" sub problems
I recently purchased these Memphis M-class four ohm, dual voice coil subs. Everything was working fine, They take up to 300 watts each, and im pushing it with a 500 watt rockford fosgate amp. One day, my subs just stopped working in the middle of a song, so when i opened my trunk to see what the problem was, smoke was coming out from the inside of my box. Now I really know almost nothing about systems, but I assumed smoke was a very bad thing.. After taking the subs out of the box, I see no burn or char marks on the subs or the wires, no melting or anything. Everything looks to be in top shape.. so i tried to re-wire thinking it may have been a short, but the only luck i had was to get one of the subs to start working, but it was definietely not running at full power... so I guess my question is, does it sound like i completely blown my speakers? Is there anything I can do to test them and see if it is something fixable.. or would it be better to just buy new subs (which i really really dont want to do). Any help would be great!
when you press down the cone, does it go down smooth or does it make a crunch noise and/or feels like theres something in the way?
that would mean you have a blown voice coil. you have to get the sub reconed.

Cocoon2 weblogic (5.1 sp6) class loader security problem
Hello folks,
System:
Cocoon: v2.0
JDK: Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-C),
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0-C, mixed mode)
OS: NT4 SP5
Servlet: v2.2
AppServer: Weblogic 5.1 SP6
Symptoms:
I've updated our application from Cocoon 1.7.4 to Cocoon2. After I
figured out what libraries I need on the Weblogic's classpath, I managed
to envoke the MyServlet (MyServlet extends CocoonServlet). The technique
I am using is the one I used with the Cocoon v1.7.4: extend Cocoon
servlet and wrap the HttpServletRequest in MyRequest to provide the XML
content. I changed the line <map:generators default="request"> in
sitemap.xmap to specify the location of the source. Configuration files
seem to be read correctly and the file
<myWebAppContext>/WEB-INF/_tmp_war/org/apache/cocoon/www/sitemap_xmap.java
is generated (but there is no class file generated)!
I looked at the cocoon.log file and looks like a class loader security
problem: the \WEB-INF\_tmp_war gets locked! Is there any workaround this
problem? Any help is much appreciated!

Article (Material) Class, subclass, sub department in SAP IS retail?
Hi All,
In SAP how to find the Article (Material) Class, subclass, sub department in SAP IS retail?
The sub-class is MARA-MAKTL, but I am not able to search article class & sub department in some tables?
Regards..Hi Sune
The thread you are refering to is quite old, there is a solution available now for doing retail master data governance on SAP MDG. This is offered as a consulting solution now.
The data model itself is modelled after the IS Retail data model for Article master and would leverage on the data governance capabilites offered by the MDG framework.
It is not exactly a supplier portal for data exchange but there have been architecture discussions on using a 'lean' version of the data model as a vendor facing portal and seperating this from internal facing MDG for enriching the ERP specific parts of the article master data , before governing and commiting to the ERP system.
If you are interested in talking more about it would be happy to do so.

Multiple palette files in a library/class file causes problems
While developing a labview class, I wanted to set the default palette, so I added the relevant dir.mnu file to the class. Unfortunately, the class already had a dir.mnu file in it. On adding the file, I got some error message about a dependency change*(which makes no sesne, how can a palette file have any dependencies !). On saving the class and then attempting to reopen it, LabVIEW claims it is corrupt. Inspecting the xml .lvclass files reveals that when I added the new paletee file, LabVIEW actually just added a second reference to the palette file already in the project, which it then considers to be a problem when it tries loading the class. This is clearly a bug on a number of levels:
It should not be possible for the user to induce LabVIEW to create corrupt xml files through such simple attempts to use documented features.
The underlying problem is that LabVIEW appears to be using the conventional search/linking rules to load library items irrespective of whether they are a vi (which should ahve a unique name) or other file (which might well be legitimately non-unique).
Given the near impossibility of renaming a palette file without breaking palette links this particular bug is extra annoying.

Solved!
Go to Solution.Sorry for the delay, it took me a little longer to reproduce the problem systematically. Attached are three zip files of the same trivial class. The only difference between them is the contents of the class file itself.
The key point is that I have two folders in my class - Public and Protected (although I haven't actually set the access scope I realise). Each folder has a dir.mnu file in it and there is also a dir.mnu file in the main class folder. The class virtual folder structure maps directly to the on disc version.
In the first zip file the dir.mnu files are not added to the class.
In the second zip dile I added the dir.mnu by right clicking and doing Add file... This is allowed because each dir.mnu has a distinct path. I then save the class file and close it.
To get the third zip file, I reopen the class file. I get a single dependency warning about dir.mnu in one of the sub folders. So I think "fine ok, somethign funny about that dir.mnu file" - note if I'm loading a whole heirarchy of classes I may be told LabVIEW is laoding the dir.mnu file from somewhere completely different in my class structure. I then save the class file to give the thrid zip file.
The lvclass file in the third zip file is corrupt because it has multiple entries for the same file, because it didn't handle having more than 2 items conflicting.
The correct behaviour would be not to invoke the conflicting item names for non vi/ctl document types. I could imagine that there would be similar problems if I had a say a whole range of say README.html files strewn over the place.

(Class cast Exception)Problem while loading data fro database in java class
Dear all,
Please help me...to solve this
I have a database having two columns of String and Date Types.
In my java code i was trying to load the data to a UI.
I am successfull in loading the String type value.
But while loading date field value,is showing Class cast Exception.
What i am doing is Getting the values from database to a String[] array.
So my question is how to
get the Date field as date field itself,Then convert it to a String..Then put it in to String[] array...
Any body please help...If any one want more clarification in question i will give......Hi,
I am using GWT to display my data in a Grid.
So it will accept a Single two dimensional String array....Here i have one as String and other as Date.
So i was trying to get each row in a sindle dimensional array array[] then store it in a list.
Iteration goes up to 10 rows.After i am setting it in to a list
ie list.add(array);
Now while returning this list i am doing this
"return (String[][])list.toArray(new String[0][]);"
When i tried to get the date element to String array it is showing class cast exception. When i tried with toString() method it is showing the same problem. -
AS 2.0 Class runtime loading problem
Hi all
i work in a company who is developing an impressive sized
flash web application.
flash application development, involving many swf files that
share the same classes,
creates a potential problem which is very difficult for us to
avoid:
say you compile a 'thumb_Navigation_bar.swf' which uses the
'PhotoManager' class
that is imported and compiled with the swf file,
then you make some changes to the 'PhotoManager' class,
after that, you created 'another_gallery_component.swf' who
uses the same PhotoManager for some other uses
you actually have two swf files, importing and using the same
class with different versions
the problem occurs when the 'thumb_Navigation_bar.swf'
comiled with the old version is loaded into memory
then the 'another_gallery_component.swf' , though compiled
with a newer version of the 'PhotoManager' class
since it had already loaded into memory, the
'another_gallery_component.swf' file can't use the new
functionality of the latest version of the class.
the only solution to this behavior we have right now is
running a complete build process which compiles all the whole
application with all of its swf files.
though not a big issue when building a relative small scale
project,
when the application gets bigger and complex, it creates a
major problem, making the development process extremely tedious.
does anyone have encountered a similar problem ?
anyone have an idea as to how to go about solving it ?
cheers
Yarivyou need to reconsider your design process. if you had
thought ahead, you would have created a base PhotoManager class
that would not need to be changed for different applications.
at its most basic, PhotoManager would be an interface whose
methods and properties are implemented in another class that's
specifically designed to work with thumb_Navigation_bar. and you
would use another implementation for
another_gallery_component. -

This works fine when the driver has been included in the same jar file as my program.. How could I get it to work if the driver is in a separate Jar file, in the same folder as the jar file of my own application?I am distributing the application I am developping as

Perhaps you can set a new classpath with the System.setProperties() function so that the Class.forName() will work. I haven't tried that so I don't know if it will work. -
Inserting JavA Class in sql,problems with import
hi i am trying to insert java class in the database
create or replace and compile java source named AppelCommande as
import client.AppelClient;
public class Run
* Creates a new instance of Run
public static String Run(String cmd) {
AppelClient AC = new AppelClient();
return AC.AppelCmd(cmd);
it gives me the following error
Class client.AppelClient not found in import.
i can compile this java code alone and i added client.jar in the classPath
so there must be some configuration in the database to make it work
thank you for your helpthx for the reply
i did try to load the classes in the database but i seem to have a problem somewhere
i am using webservices and there are too many libraries to add so i added the rt.jar in java and i am getting the following error

Import my own class into servlet problem
Hello, everyone.. I fail to import java classes that i create myself into the servlet. I wonder what is the problem. I would feel grateful if anyone can solve my problem. I noe that if it is in the package let say myclass , C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.29\webapps\lis\WEB-INF\classes\myclass. It will be
package myclass;
import myclass.*;
But, I put all my class file into below directory not in a package.
C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.29\webapps\lis\WEB-INF\classes
and i wish to include let say DBManager.class file into Login.class file which in in the same directory as above. What is the correct code i should put? Thanks for anyone who willing to help me out ~You don't need to import classes from the same package. They are automatically available in the same namespace. Just use them.
package myclasses;
import myclasses.*; // this line does nothing
import myctherclasses.*; // this line is necessary to use classes from another package.Having said that though, it is always preferable to put your classes in a package. Classes in the "unnamed" package are not guarunteed to be available anymore.
Particularly servlet classes which are not in a package aren't found by Tomcat.
In short: always put your classes into packages.

Local Class Transaction Code Problem
Hi friends,
I have created report program using local class. I have also used selection screen to get input from user. I have created oops transaction code (using se93) for that program.
Problem is selection screen is not displayed when program is executed using tcode.
I think logically it not possibel to display the selection screen. Is it true?. OR
What Should I do?.
Next Question is, I have also created global class from my report program. But i cant able to find my class in se24.
I have done following things.
1) imported a local class from my report prg. ( In pop up screen that class icon(circle shaped icon) shown in gray colour)
2) Assigend New class name starting with 'Z'.
3) Selected overwrite existing class checkbok.
4) selected import icon.
'Import Completed Succesfully' message appeared. Still i am not able to find my class.
Kindly provide answers.
Thanks In Advance,
S.SenthilHi senthil kumar ,
u can display the selection screen and secondly try to create your report in module pool type,
and when also check if the class is activated or not and then check in se24,
if still the issue remains
let me know...
thanks

SQL Server Driver Class not found problem
Hi,
I've read several replies to similar topics but almost all the answers are: set your classpath because JVM can't find your .jar files containing those classes.
I'm using Windows 2000 Pro and J2SDK1.4.1_01
Ok, the problem is that I've set my CLASSPATH under environment variables (Windows 2000) as:
.;C:\<INSTALLATION_PATH>\lib\msbase.jar;C:\<INSTALLATION_PATH>\lib\msutil.jar;C:\<INSTALLATION_PATH>\lib\mssqlserver.jar
where INSTALLATION_PATH = Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 JDBC Drivers ... or the like.
I've set this CLASSPATH under System variables and under User variables and still can't find the class I need.
Is there any problem with CLASSPATH or Win2k or J2SDK1.4.1_01 ??
Thanks in advance.I had to tar xf my .jar drivers into my project directory to work.
now I have:
C:\path\classes\*.class
C:\path\classes\com\microsoft\jdbc... etc
at least I got it to work. -
Class not found problem in Tomcat Web app
Hi,
I created a Web Service using JWSDP. I want to invoke a Web service method from my servlet. It works fine on Win NT Workstation, but on Windows 2000 it gives class not found error because it fails to pick up the jars that come with the pack in common\lib directory. I copied the jars to all possible lib paths as below, but looks like there's something wrong with the class loader. This problem comes in all our win2k machines. Does anyone have any clue about this.
/WEB-INF/lib/*.jar of your web application
$CATALINA_HOME/common/endorsed/*.jar
$CATALINA_HOME/common/lib/*.jar
$CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib/*.jar
Thanks in advance,
Sriram.If it can't find servlet.jar in the Tomcat dir, you should do what I did. I copied servlet.jar to C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\lib\ext\servlet.jar
Then I added that to my CLASSPATH, and it finally found servlet.jar (it never found it in the Tomcat folder where it was). -
XML Parser, Class Generator demo problem
Hello,
I have downloaded today the XML Parser and the Class Generator. I have successfully compiled the SampleMain.java coming with the kit. When running it there is a problem with the expected DTD filename input.
The program prints out the needed format as:
Usage: java SampleMain [-root <rootName>] <fileName>
fileName Input file, XML document or external DTD file
-root <rootName> Name of the root Element (required if the input file is an external DTD)
Whatever I try as DTD filename input fails.
I work on Windows-NT!
I have tried running with JDK 1.1.7.a and JDK 1.2.2.
Thanks, Yigal.java SampleMain Widl.xml
or
java SampleMain -root WIDL Widl.dtd
Make you have Widl.xml and Widl.dtd are
in the current directory. Also, remember
Java is case sensitive.
If you are still getting errors, please
post the error message.

Asset Class under Sub Group of assets
Dear All,
In my Client place they are have list of assets. I clasify in Asset classes like
Plant & machinery, Buildings, Land -Asset Classes
In Buildings they have Differenct Factory Building and Office Building which is situated in Factory itself.
These Two buildings having differenct % of Depreciation.
But in one Asset Class- Building They want Create Sub Group of Assets with different depreciation .
It is Possible or Not. If it is possible How can we Create the Sub group of assets Under once Class of Assets. with different Depreciation Value.
Pl Clarify my doubt, if any manual is there porivde for my configeration.
Regards,
girijahi,
it is possible to run depreciation for main assets and sub assets with deprecition key.
what you need to do is goto the following path
spro - > financial accounting (new) - > asset accounting - > master data -> screen layout - >
now inside screen layout you have options like" define screen layout for asset depreciation areas"
once inside the main screen of it select the scrn layout 2000 and double click on field group rules which you can find on the left side of your screen
here you will be displayed with various options for flagging what is (req) (opt) ( blah blah )
look at depreciation keys against it you shall find flags like ( class ) (MnNo.) ( sbno.) (copy)
in this remove the flag from copy and from MnNo. and flag the Subno.
this way it will not copy the depn key from the main asset and instead it will ask you provide a depreciation key while creating a subasset
and also remove the check assigned to (class) against depreciation area in screen layout 2000

Problem is that on one WebSphere Application Server 6 is everithing OK, but on another I receive error :
On both server I have same jdk.
Error 500: com.ibm.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection
in line
conn = (javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection();
Where is the problem ??Sorry, should have been:
javax.net.ssl.trustStore=path/to/etc/etc/DummyServerTrustFile.jks
javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=WebAS
Didn't get it to actually work like that though. trustStore & trustStorePassword were always null when I ran my program under WAS5.1.
Here is what I did. If running from command line using WAS5.1 as JRE, first setup the environment:
set JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\runtimes\base_v51\java\jre
java -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=com.ibm.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol myProgramIndependent of whether running from command line or in RAD7, code in program:
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",
"C:\\Program Files\\IBM\\SDP70\\runtimes\\base_v51\\etc\\DummyServerTrustFile.jks");
System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword","WebAS");(would be better to be able to specify trustStorePassword in WAS than in code though,
but works as such)
One can use some other file but I just added the certificate to DummyServerTrustFile.jks.
Then, unlike I said, one CAN use the HttpsURLConnection, like this:
com.ibm.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection conn = null;
URL urli = new URL("https://some.address.com");
conn = (com.ibm.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection)urli.openConnection();
Note this uses classes from C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\runtimes\base_v51\java\jre\lib\ibmjsseprovider.jar, so it needs to be in classpath when compiling.
Now this way I didn't get a cast exception from using HttpsURLConnection. The point is one can't instantiate javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection, because RAD7's WAS5.1 can't cast it into its own class (wish it could).
Also, I still couldn't use the javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection.setHostnameVerifier method, because com.ibm.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection doesn't have it... So the result was pretty much the same as using a HttpURLConnection as I previously instructed. Well, I don't really need that method in practice, but I suppose one might need it in some situation. The IBM URL I quoted said WAS5.1 doesn't really compare DNS host name with the certificate host name though, so I suppose one doesn't need to programmatically set a dummy HostnameVerifier in WAS5.1.
