Menu and Pause buttons won't work on iPod classic.

I've had the iPod for a while, long enough that my warranty is over. My problem with the pause button started a few months ago, it would go in spurts of working fine and working on and off. In the past few weeks the menu button has started to not work as well. As of yesterday they have both completely stopped working. I've tried restoring it to factory settings, syncing it over and over, and resetting it (which I can't do now because my menu button won't work). Does anyone have any suggestions? Or is it time for me to get a new iPod...

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's clickwheel, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.

Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity. A third party service will actually replace the damage part for a little less. Google "iPod repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

Besides resetting the iPod, have you attempted restoring it? You can do that by clicking the "Restore" button on the the iPod's Summary page in iTunes.
Assuming that doesn't work, you can check your [warranty status|https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do] to see if you are still covered for hardware repair. I doubt any 30GB iPods are still under warranty, since they were discontinued over two years ago, but you said you got it in March 2009 - did you purchase it used?
Whether it's under warranty or not, you can always make a Genius Bar appointment at your closest Apple Store and see if they have any other suggestions, free of charge. If it's a hardware problem, they can replace the iPod for you, but there would be a charge to do so if you're out of warranty.

The only way I know to get rid of the movie is to let it download and then delete it.
To tell what version you have, click the Apple (upper right corner), then click "About this Mac".

Play, pause, and skip button won't work on lock screen

Thanks for your help. I tried a restore but that didn't work. Do you know of any instructions for taking one of these units apart? I might try seeing if anything is obstructing the buttons. If not, the buttons are probably faulty, just as you said.

Send and reset buttons won't work on contact form

Hey, I'm using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2. I've created a simple contact page, inside a movie clip (because I got it fading in and out), I've put the script on the main timeline, so not inside the movie, but the send and reset buttons won't respond all. I've checked the instance names and spellings are correct, here's the script I'm using:

ok, i've got the send button working, it was the script on the keyframe that controls the contact form, i copied the code from an older version of the contact file where the send button works. i've checked all the frames, and made sure there aren't any unnecessary instance names, duplicate or otherwise. only thing is the reset button still doesn't work.
another thing i'm not sure of, do i need to upload the swf and php files to a server, or should i be able to get a test email in my inbox if i test it from my computer without uploading?

My 32GB 4G itouch's lock button AND volume button won't work.

I got my 4G 32GB on Christmas and about two weeks later the lock button and volume button just stopped working. My hands weren't even wet. How do I fix it and how can I restart it without the lock button?

You may need to make a trip to an Apple Store or other authorized place to have it repaired, assuming it's a hardware issue. If it's a software issue, you can try going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This will force the iPod to reboot and restore it to factory settings, but you will be able to get your data back from a backup. If it is a hardware issue, then it's time for a trip to the store.

30GB Play/Pause button won't work.

Yes, another iPod Classic's play/pause button is messed up. I got it in March '09 so I believe that's over the 90 day fixing range. I've tried resetting, holding the menu & center button, & all of the suggestions on the Mac site, but it still won't work.

Mini ipod menu and play buttons are not working

My ipod menu button has not worked now for a few months. I can't get back to my main playlist and choose certain things, I just have to listen to the all the songs. Now the play button is not working either, its working to turn on-play-pause, but not to turn it off. So it stays on till the battery goes dead. Help Please-anything!!

Got the latest Itunes (11, I think) and now it says that 'Itunes.itl isn't working because it's a newer version of Itunes' and when I go to my older Itunes, the F7, F8 and F9 buttons won't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay, so I got the latest update and apparently it doesn't work. I had an icon on my desktop that wouldn't open because the 'newer Itunes' is apparently corrupt or something. Going into my applications, I found another Itunes icon and it opens up, but not the F7, F8 and F9 keys aren't working with it. I've already tried installing the latest version and that hasn't helped. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

IPod Camera Connector won't work with iPod Classic 80GB?

I am trying to connect my iPod Classic (80GB) to my Canon 40D camera--to upload my images directly from camera to iPod. When I try, I get a message saying "Accessory is not supported." My local Apple store genius said that the iPod connectors only work with older iPods. I find it hard to believe that they'd eliminate such an important capacity on a newer version. Is he right? Or is there a way I can make it work?

I have sent Apple feedback a couple times in the past few years asking for the camera connector to come back and work with the ipod touch. The more people ask, the better.
Is it true that the new version of the SDK will allow apps to access the USB interface of the ipod touch? If that happens, then maybe some third party company can make something similar.

Refreshes to bottom of page randomly without prompt, and back button won't work unless clicked several times.

I've noticed that every time I open a page, I am automatically redirected to the bottom of the page, after scrolling up to the top I can only go a few minutes on that page before Firefox refreshes to the bottom of the page again without my doing anything at all. It's similar to when you're viewing a page at a certain point, and you refresh, it'll refresh back to the spot that you were viewing, only it's as if Firefox thinks that I was down at the bottom of a page I haven't opened before (in all cases with any website I visit), and it brings me immediately to the bottom of the page, and then several times when I'm simply viewing the page.
The other issue is when I try to hit the back button. You know those obnoxious websites that don't really go back unless you hit the back button a bunch of times, or go to the drop down back menu? EVERY page is like that now. I can't go back on most pages because if I go back to far, it goes to a blank page that I started on and then the forward button greys out. It's almost as if Firefox is having a laugh at my expense, but I don't want to give it that much credit.
This is most irritating when I'm working on Webassign.net, my calc homework pages cause Firefox to crash or freeze up anyway when I have to use their textbox with complicated math symbols, so when ti starts freshing and jumping all over the place while trying to input complicated equations, I usually just have to close everything and open Firefox again. I lose a lot ot math homework that way.

Keyboard and all buttons won't work

so for some reason, all the buttons on my blackberry curve 8330 have stopped working. Not even one will input anything, including the mute button and the two side buttons. The trackball can still move the cursor around the main screen but when I try to click on anything with the trackball button or any other button nothing happens. I did the battery reset thing but that didnt help and I dont know what else to do. help!!

I'm having the same issue. My phone is locked, and the only thing it will do is light up (the screen will come on that is) if I plug in a charger or USB cable, and if I roll the trackball, the menu comes up w/ UNLOCk highlighted.
If i receive a phone call, I can answer it, but I can't END it...I have to wait for the other person to hangup.
I've done several battery pulls w/ and w/o the memory card in there.

On my iPhone, my home button and sleep button won't work but everything else is fine.

It's just fustrating.
