Menu background audio stops when entering transition

Is there anyway for the menu audio to overlap a transition towards the timeline ?
I have a menu setup with audio and a still frame from a small movie as background, when hitting play all the menu play's the movie clip/transition which fades out and then starts at chapter 1 of the timeline. Problem I'm facing now is that the audio which loops in the menu stops when entering the transition clip. While I would like the audio to overlap the transition clip. Can't find anything related to audio which could set the audio to keep playing while the transition clip does it's job.
If encore doesn't support this, then it should be included. In that case does anyone know how to workaround ?

This is simply not possible in DVD-Video.
The format is visually dominant - which means any time you switch menus, timelines - even with transitions - the audio must change too.
You can - if you must - use Aufdio in the transition as well, but please bear in mind that there
i will
be a glitch as the visuals change - it's unavoidable.

Background audio disappears when an interaction slide appears

I have a (Captivate 6 produced) project which includes approx 40 slides and it looks to be running smoothly when published.
However, I have imported a background music audio track which I want to play (and then loop) during the course of the whole course - however, whenever it reaches a slide which has an interaction on it, the music disappears and then returns when a non-interaction-based slide is reached. Disappears again when the next slide is reached that contains an interaction, etc.
I am unable to test in earlier versions of Captivate and so I am wondering whether this is an issue with this version of the program i.e. background audio disappears when an interaction slide is shown?

We don't have the 6.1 update yet, but I did find a workaround for this (although it's not perfect). With Captivate 6 there is now a "Play Audio" action that you can assign to the Slide Properties "On Enter" action. When I did this, the narration continues to play even after the Flash interaction appears in the timeline. So for any narrated slides that have Flash interactions, you need to:
1) remove the Audio narration that is imported to the Slide (Audio > Remove > Slide from the menu bar)
2) On the Slide Properties - On Enter action, select Play Audio, then select the appropriate narration file for that slide.
This seemed to work -- the only problem is that if you use the "Play/Pause" button in the Adobe playback navigation bar, the button seems to get confused and changes to the Play state while the audio is still playing (instead of staying in the Pause state until the audio finishes as it does when the audio is imported to the Slide itself as narration). Not sure how to fix that issue except to remove the Pause/Play button from the playbar and just use the Next/Back buttons. And if you use navigation buttons instead of the Adobe playbar, you don't need to worry about this.

I can understand the fear of messing up a computer when I first started seriously working on computers back in the early 90's I had to format and re-install my operating system twice a day for quite a while before I figured out a very important step (at least important for me), and that was after I made a change to my computer to restart it. This way if I messed something up I only had to undo one thing and not 50 because I went wild on it. lol
Anyways, do not be afraid of your computer all you need to do is learn that step, how to keep your personal items backed up and then of course how to re-install your computer back to factory and you can always start over with a fresh build.

Audio stops when reconnecting external display [OSX10.10]

When I disconnect and reconnect an external monitor, the audio stops.
Audio appears to continue playing, but there is no sound.
Reproducable steps:
OS: OSX 10.10 Yosemite
Hardware: Macbook Pro 13" Retina Mid 2014, 16Gb RAM

1. Laptop connected to external display with Display Port cable
2. Headphones connected, music playing
3. Disconnect External display
4. Reconnect External display
5. Music stops playing
Current Workaround:
1. Stop music
2. Unplug headphones
3. Plug headphones back in
4. Resume music

Based on this post, I picked up a Ground-Loop Isolator ($17 at my local Radio Shack), connected it, and (so far) it's working perfectly. Dead silence.

MacBook Pro (2007) Audio stops when Bluetooth enabled

All audio stops playing when Bluetooth is toggled to 'On' and 'Discoverable'. No receiving devices are on. iTunes music pauses, and if playing Pandora through Chrome, Pandora stops functioning, and must be restarted. When receiving devices are turned on, and Bluetooth is toggled 'On', the MacBook does not pair. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

Final Cut Pro 7: Audio Stops when clicking outside the program.

Just something that annoyed me and was wondering if their is a way to correct it. Whenever I am listening to a song within final cut in a video or in the viewer, it will stop playing if I click out of the program. For example i might be listening to a song and want to go do a google search or open another program and as soon as i do the audio stops. It will begin playing once i click back into final cut and everything works fine but its just bothersome. If anyone knows a way to change this please help me out!

well, I think if I remember correctly that might be a normal state, because FCP wants to "take over" completely. My systems are on MacPros with Kona Cards and I/Os setup for 5.1 output. I think I lose audio because the Kona wants only one app controlling it at a time. I'd have to be sitting in front of the box to figure it out. But oddly enough I'm actually home.

Menu background Audio is not retaining Duration when burned

I want to use the first 12 seconds of an audio clip in a loop as background music for my DVD menus.
I added the audio file. no problem. I also set the duration to 12 seconds. The audio file plays as expected in Encore's Preview. That is the 12 seconds of audio plays in the background...looping continously. But when I burn this project to a DVD the whole audio clip plays. Am I missing something?

Modify the length of the audio clip to 12 seconds in SB, AU or PR and then import into EN.

Can Video widgets start and stop when entering and exiting the browser viewport?

I like to use multiple autoplaying/looping video clips on a single page but I need to figure out how to make the videos start only when they enter the viewport on a browser and stop after they exit the viewport. Does anyone know a way to do this?

I do not know if this can have an affect on it but the videos are being downloaded through multiple computers to a private server and being accessed through the mac. Please let me know what you think.

Audio stops when external link clicked on?

I have a V/O audio file which read out eveything which is shown on a slide. Some of my slides have external links to either websites or PDF downloads and if they are clicked on while the audio is still going it will stop. Is there anyway of the user to still be able to click on external links and have the audio still play?
I am using Captivate 5.5.

Can you please try the following steps to see if that work for you.
1     Insert the video/audio file that you have on the slide
2.    Then insert a button to the slide using which you can open a link or a file externally.
3.    Now on the button "Action" properties use the "open URL or file" option and then check the box "Continue playing the project" as shown in the image below:
4. Now publish the file and play it.

Audio stopping when movie changes

Old versions of Director would continue playing sounds/music using puppetSound even when the movie loaded another movie. However, I've been trying to bring some legacy projects into Director 12, and the sounds keep getting cut off. Any ideas?

Is this a known problem...
Kinda. But not really an iLife/Mac problem. The DV (Digital Video) specification itself calls for the audio and video to be on separate tracks. These tracks are not locked together (however the Sony DVCam camcorders do lock the sampling rates together). Now if your camera records an accurate sample rate of 16-bit/48KHz, then you will never notice a problem. If all you capture are short clips, you will never notice a problem. However, if your camera is off in the slightest, then there will be a sync drift. How much drift depends on how far off the sampling rate is. I had a Canon GL1 (notorious for sync drift) that recorded audio at 48.0001KHz. By about 15 minutes into a long capture you could notice drift.
The good news is that extracting the audio should do the trick.

i create psd then flat it and save as tif and jpeg and even psd files. Both look good but when import to DVDSP, the color lose. Any suggestions? save png file?

I had been away from FCP and DVD SP for awhile and that can cause a loss of memory.
Your answer triggered my brain to export the finished project in FCP as a QT movie to my external drive and from there to DVD SP.
I also have forgotten most of the French I once knew as well.

IPad2 audio stops when screen goes to sleep

As soon as my iPad 2's screen goes dark, the music fades out and stops. Hitting play starts it right back up. Happens the same via BT or the internal speakers. Tried killing all the apps and rebooting the iPad 2 - still happens. It's been working great until today. Any ideas?

Solved by using a 3rd party music player that can access the library on the iPad and no longer using Apple's iPod app.

Audio stops when locking...after iOS4 of course!

Since my iOS4 upgrade, whenever I play music, the first time the iTouch goes into lock mode the music crackles and stops. I then have to unlock the iTouch and then it starts back again by itself. After that I do not have any issues.
Obviously this never happened pre-iOS4!!!
Anyone else having the same issue?

It's also happening to me. Even worse, I need to unplug the earphone and plug it back to get the music back. Then another thing that I just realized today that though I have turn-off the Itouch, but it will turn-on by itself after 5 minutes. Not know what to do to solve this problem. It's really unpleasant experience.

First I really appreciater all the help I've been getting here, my project is near complete, and I couldnt have done it without your help.. THANK-YOU!
ok, last thing I need to do before I render out my DVD project..
I've got several menus, each with several buttons. On each menu what I WANT to happen is when the menu is displayed,
a background audio plays until a button is hit, which sends the user to the destination linked to that button.
What I did, was, on the menu in question's properties/motion page I linked the audio "curly thing" to the .wav file I want used as a menu background audio... works fine....until you roll over one of the buttons, ( using the mouse, in the preview Mode) at which timethe audio starts all over from the beginning. It does this everytime you roll the mouse over any of the buttons...
Will this happen everytime a user uses the remote to go from one button to another?
Is there any way to just have the background audio play constant until a button is actually selected/"pushed"?
