Menu Bar at top will not hide during full screen playback

URGENT!! Please help. I am playing a QT movie in version 7 on operating system 10.3.9 on an ibook. Despite selecting full screen mode the menu bar at the top will not disappear during playback. Have checked all preference settings. Any advice?

I am having the same problem. I have an iBook with system 10.3.9 running the newest version of QT. It worked at first, but then I used the menu once during a fullscreen play and the menu hasn't hidden since. And no, my cursor isn't stuck at the top of the screen.

was using prior to problem. just downsized screen from facebook. went back, clicked on icon in bar and that was it. I can see that it looks like it is loading to right side of screen. just slight glimpse of movement but nothing.

You can reinstall Firefox by overwrite it.(Remember download version lasted). Don't insintall your old version Firefox.And all bookmark,add-on will not be deleted.

Satellite A300 PSAG0A - Games Will Not Display in Full Screen Size

I have a large number of games installed on my computer. At least 90% of them will not display in full screen size but display in a small window with a large amount of black screen surrounding the window. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. However, I do not think it has anything to do with Windows as my husband runs the same games on his Toshiba Satellite L300, running exactly the same version of windows, and they all display in full screen size.
Altering the screen resolution makes no difference. And, of course, I do select the full screen option in the games.
Also, sometimes when I have been playing a game and then closed it I find that my desktop picture has shrunk to the smaller size - the same size as the window in which the game was displayed when I was playing it.
The games work fine in every other way, it is only this small screen size which is driving me nuts.
I hope that someone can help me with this!!

Yes, as far as I can tell I have the latest driver. But, even this is confusing to me because....
My graphics media accelerator is Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family. The installed driver version is 7.14.10.1329. The release date for this is 2007-09-13, as far as I can tell from web searches.
However, on the Toshiba website for driver downloads, the available driver version is 8.2.0.1012 PV. The date is 2006-12-28. I have downloaded this driver and attempted to install it. I get the message that it has been installed but, after rebooting and checking the installed driver version is still 7.14.10.1329.
Perhaps, the 8.2.0.1012 PV version does not actually install because it is older than the currently installed version. I would have thought that the driver version with the higher number would be the newer one, but perhaps this is not the case as the dates do not seem to support this theory.
So now I ask myself, firstly, if the driver available for download on the Toshiba website is not the newest one, then why is it there?
Secondly, if it is the newest one then why will it not install on my computer?

Safari will not open in full screen mode

After installing the 3-1-14 update from the Apps Store, Safari will not open in full screen mode when I click the double arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. If I try the View>Enter Full Screen it still will not open full screen. Prior to this update, everything was fine. I know the info on the update says it deals with iTunes and iBooks, but after installing it my problems began.
I am running the Mavericks (all updates installed) on an Mac mini (late 2013 edition), 16GB RAM.
Any suggestions?

Since updating a day ago, Firefox will not open on full screen on Windows 7

Accessing from taskbar on Windows 7 shows its open but will not open on full screen. And its also affected my Quicken program, doing the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled, still same problems. Did the updates affect my computer? And adobe was updated at the same time. I spent two hours w/ Quicken support, problem still exists. The only change that was made to the computer was the Mozilla update.

Right-click on the shortcut used to open Firefox and select Properties. If you get a Windows Jump list when you right click, right-click on the Firefox entry in the jump list and select properties.
In the Shortcut tab of the properties dialog box, set the Run option to Maximized, then click OK to save the settings.
You can do this for any program.

Firefox will not allow me full screen view of Zynga's FarmVille.

FarmVille will not expand to full screen view when I select the icon. Nothing happens using Firefox...Have to bail out and log into IE8 which works.

PSE 7 Menu bar in Organizer will not display properly

I''m going through an instructional video on PSE 7. The video shows the menu bar in the organizer just to the right of the little house. My Organizer shows two > symbols in the middle of the area, with a drop down list of menu items. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems that the menu bar might be locked or something like that. I have searched help for "menu bar" but found nothing on how to get the bar back. Can someone point me in the right direction to get the menu bar back?
As an asside............. Is there no help in the program itself? When I press F1 or click on help in the menu, I get directed to the Adobe web site. Does this mean that if you're not connected to the internet (using a laptop without wifi access etc) that you have no access to help files?

Thanks very much for your quick answer. I decided to just use the system font. If issues appear during editing, at least I'll know how to turn it off. I didn't want to lower the dpi. I had it set higher for a reason............ poor eyesight...

No Menu Bar and Programs Will Not Open!!!

Turned on my Powerbook G4 today and my menu bar had dissappeared (the apple, file, edit, window, etc.). Although, it still shows the airport, time/date and an icon for my creative suites CS2. But they're unresponsive to clicks.
Also, my dock doesn't seem to want to allow me to open my programs. I click on anything and it'll bounce once and do nothing. I can't even open the Finder to have a snoop around or access my system pref. But as long as I've had my laptop, the finder has ALWAYS been open.
In addition, I can see my chosen background, but the icon for my HD and the two or three files I had on the desktop have disappeared.
Anyone know what I can do to solve the problem without having to reinstall or reformat? (I lost first installer disc, so it'd be tough to fix regardless).
Help me out, please!

Also, I tried running the FSCK in single user mode. It said my hard drive is ok, but when I rebooted I still get the same problem:
No menu bar (but I have airport, CS2 icon, volume, battery and time with no drop down)
My applications do not launch from dock (bounce once)
The icons on my desktop are gone (although my wallpaper remains)
Sometimes, my MS Office updater will come on and I can get to system pref., but i can't think of anything I can do to fix this problem.
Honestly, i've been dealing with macs for a while and I've never seen anything like this before.

How do I hide the menu bar on Safari when watching videos on full screen mode?

I have a mid 2010 macbook pro (Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8) which I have recently restored from time machine after installing a new hard drive.
However, now when I watch flash videos on putlocker or hulu etc the menu bar on safari on the top left of the screen and the icons on the top right (airport, battery, date/time etc) does not disappear as it used to.
When I am on youtube I have a similar problem but this time the video only occupies the window so tabs (and everything above) in safari and my dock still appear. I know this may be a youtube related query, but if anyone knows how to change this I would appreciate any guidance.
This is my first post so sorry if this in the wrong forum (feel free to move it) or if my description is unclear, I can provide further information if needed.

The menubar will not display in full screen

I have a strange problem in fullscreen mode, on my Macbook pro 15"
I LOVE fullscreen, and infact the next macbook I will get is the 11" air because of its size and because full screen is so nice to work with.
But I have a strange problem which I can't find a solution for.
Suddenly the menubar will not display it self when I move the mouse to the top of the screen. The only way I can access the menu bar is by exiting full screen (ctrl + Cmd + F) and the toggel it back on after I have used the menubar
This actually makes fullscreen mode useless and its driving me nuts, because this should not happen on Apple software. I would expect these sorts of behaviour on windows but not in osx.
Anybody have a hint about what to do?

Try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
     User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
     User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Menu bar sometimes doesn't show up on full screen apps??

sometimes when i take google chrome,utorrent, etc apps to full screen the menu bar doesn't pop up no matter how much i click at top... i cant even take the apps out of the full screen mode (not even from the keyboard shortcut)... after i log out and log in it starts working fine untill its stops working again....

Google Chrome and Mac OS are not the best of friends. There have been a number of reports regarding the incompatibility and I suggest that you consider another browser. Firefox, Safari and Opera are all good alternatives .
Utorrents are an open invitation to problems and are excellent vehicles to introducing malware into your MBP. I recommend that you do not use them. To continue, you do so at your own peril.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If the problem is not repeated in the new, test library then your current library is damaged.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

My firefox browser window will not stay in full screen mode, it keeps reducing itself so I can't use the scroll down button on the side, so I have to constantly minimize and maximize to get to the scroll bar, How can I stop this?

Like I said it happens every few minutes... It is annoying when you are on the internet for more than a few minutes because you constantly have to either minimize it or reduce the screen manually by hitting the button and then maximize it again to get the scroll bar to be in view to use it.

Delete the localstore.rdf file at the following location:

I did this and it fixed it for several days, but it broke again eventually.

Edited photos not showing in full screen

I have edited some photos (crop and/or colour adustments). Although the thumbnail is still visible, it will not load in full screen mode - I'll only see a gree square with an explanation mark.
Even more annoying, a photo book I'd ordered came with grey spaces: again the thumbnail appeared allright, but if I click to view the page I get this screen picture holder. I'll have to ask for a reimbursement, but in the mean time, I'd like to know what to do.

I'm having some trouble posting. Sorry for my last post with only original message showing and my comments missing.
I am having trouble with full screen also but not quite the same. I cannot get a previosly edited photo to show full size on the full screen. It only transfers in the same small size as it is in the Library source screen even though I clk on the preference for "edit in full screen." Any idea what is wrong?

The address bar in firefox will not let me use down arrow in menu boxes or in the url bar. Usually if I click on the down arrow in the url bar, my most common websites pop up... now it won't show me them...
It is also happening in any website I use via Fire fox. I don't have this problem with windows or Internet Explorer. Even the down arrow box below this.. asking "this happened" won't let me see the choices.. it just flashes by.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing": Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History,Bookmarks,History and Bookmarks
