Simple: top of Firefox screen the menu bar is visible, click on bookmarks, there is no menu item "organize bookmarks" in the menu list

"Tools" in my menu bar missing "options" and other items. Can only use 3.6.26 on my computer.

When I click "Tools" in my menu bar, only these items appear:
web search, downloads, add ons, error console, page info, start browsing history, and clear recent history. How can I get back other items such as "options"?

You can consider to update to Mac OS X 10.5 to be able to use newer Firefox versions.

Can I get menu bar & bookmarks tool bar & home button on my tablet?

Basically can I set up firefox on my tablet the same as my laptop with nav bar,bookmarks bar etc? plus the homepage button.

After several hours of inactivity, the tabs are blank with noway to tell them apart without clicking on them. also the menu bar is there but the words 'File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help' are blank. also the drop down menus are blank.

The links are there. I can click on them. I'm just can not see what I'm clicking on. The info on the tabs comes back but only when I click on that tab. rebooting every 24 hours fixes the problem temporarily.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How to Restore Menu Bar Bookmarks with Time Machine

When I woke up this morning, my menu bookmarks had magically changed. I read other support posts, but when I quit Safari and went to Go- Go to Folder, and put in:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
I got a message saying it could not be found.
I don't know how to unsync Safari from the cloud (but isn't that something that you want?)
I would really appreciate your help-

Many older computers will slow dramatically when saddlerd with a newer OS. My practice has been to only "upgrade" when I need something only the newer OS supports. This keeps my older wraps running and the confusion factor down...
If your system is truly "slower than dirt", maybe you need a (new or used) Mac Pro!

ClearType is on and size of text is medium 125% problem menu bar bookmark bar and tab text is not clere at all

Little bit of progress:
When I allow whatever IE7 blocks, the menu works but 75% of
the background images don't show up until I hover over them. The
tabbed menu seems to work fine then though.
Edit: Sorted the images no showing, but the "Stopped ActiveX
running" etc error menu still pops up...can I stop that happening
or is it something that is set on each individual's computer?
Also the white box background around the round buttons show
up, as if it was jpeg not a GIF, is that solvable?

Bookmarks disappeared out of my menu bar. How do I get it back? (I can find it under VIEW SIDEBAR)

I used to have a dropdown menu available for bookmarks in my menu bar. It disappeared. Now I can find it by going to VIEW and then SIDEBAR, but this is inconvenient. How can I get it back into my menu bar?

There are a couple of extensions that have the option to hide the Bookmarks menu bar item; you need to change that option. Delicious is one, the other I can't recall.

Why do I have two Bookmarks tabs, one in the Menu Bar one in the Bookmarks Toolbar?

I recently upgraded to FireFox 9.01 on my MacBook running 10.6.8. I now have two Bookmark tabs. One in the menu bar where it has always been and a new one in the Bookmarks Toolbar. The one in the toolbar has all of the custom icons for the sites that I visit but the menu bar Bookmark tab just has the generic icons. Can I display only one Bookmark tab, preferably in the menu bar where it has always been with all of the custom site icons?
Firefox also seems very slow to load my homepage, which is Yahoo, or some of my other pages. Thanks.

If you open the Customize window (View > Toolbars > Customize) then you should see that Bookmarks Menu button move to the Navigation Toolbar. 
You can drag that button in the toolbar palette to remove it from the Bookmarks Toolbar.

How to hide the huge gray sidebar on ipad? there is no menu bar at top

I want to hide the ipad huge gray left bookmark sidebar that limits the usable screen by 50%. Please don't tell me to scroll to top for the menu bar because there isn't one there!!!

The Bookmark bar will disappear if you touch the Bookmark icon after you have started a page load.
if the Bookmark is no longer showing just swipe down on the page to bring the URL fields and Safari icons back at the top of the screen.

Menu bar items don't work, right click drop down menu gone

when i right click, nothing happens, also although the menu bar is there, but there is no drop-down menu for any items (file edit etc). i've checked this on my other browsers, i have opera, seamonkey and google chrome.
all these things work except for menu bar in google chrome since it doesn't have one by default.

I restarted firefox 4 with Add-Ons Disabled. Go to Help and use the Down Arrow key to select the Restart with Add-Ons Disabled option.
A startup box with options will show up. Do NOT select any of the options unless you want to disable the item permanently. It started in SAFE MODE and then there were no problems at all with the Menus. I simply Customized some of the menu bars and then restarted. Now all the Add-Ons are back, the menu bars are where I had them before AND the Drop-down Menus are WORKING!!!

The upper part of the page is not opaque, and the desktop shows through. Thus, the menu bar is hard to read. How to remedy this?

The area behind the menu bar and the line above it, all the way across to the minimize, maximize and close icons is not opaque and the desktop and desktop icons show through. There is nothing I can find in Firefox Help to change this. Also, it would be nice if the menu bar could be made larger and more visible -- and if I could delete "Yahoo!" from the menu bar, leaving just the important items (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help). When I open Firefox I do not get an address bar only Google comes up. I don't get a back or forward button nor do I get the tool bar or menu bar. There is no default button. I read the forum but I can not make any corrections because I don't have a tool bar displayed. I am using 3.6. When I turn off my computer and then turn it back on, the default settings still do not return.

It is a long while since I tried Google Toolbar, I am not sure what it changes. But I would not expect it to totally remove your options to use the ordinary toolbars.

I hope you do not need to resort to editing registry settings, the firefox 'dragons' in prefs are user friendly compared with Windows registry. Messing up firefox prefs only really affects firefox normally; whereas errors in a registry edit may prevent you from even booting the computer.

Menu Bar and Hard Drive Icon M.I.A.

When I woke my MacBook from "sleep" a while ago I have no menu bar or any of the icons that go on the right side of the screen. My dock is barely visible. I've tried system preferences to check on the screen size in "display". It's set to 1280 X 800. I've restarted about 4 times. I shut down and started. It keeps coming back this way. I went to user>library>preferences>apple.com systemuiserver.plist and deleted it. Then restarted. No joy. Please help?

This sounds like either damaged OS files that the Combo update did not replace or an incompatible add-on of some kind, especially a "haxie" that adds a third party (not from Apple) Menu Extra toward the right of the menu bar. There are actually two kinds of menu bar add-ons, menu extras & status items. Menu extras can be rearranged with an ⌘ key drag; status items cannot. Avoid third party menu extras if possible. Although popular & useful, Apple does not support their use. They can cause problems, including ones that interfere with the proper installation of OS updates that can require reinstalling the OS to fix.
Assuming you only have Apple menu extras installed, I suggest you try starting up in Safe Mode. If behavior reverts to normal, but only until the next normal startup, then you probably have an incompatible add-on. If not, you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard 'over itself' - IOW, just run the installer again after starting up from the DVD.
If a safe boot is only temporarily effective, while in that mode create a temporary new user account. Restart & log into that account instead of your normal one. If the problem disappears, then the incompatible item is somewhere in your home folder.

There is usually a right pointing arrow to click when the tool bar is not complete on short displays for laptops and notebooks. Its also worth checking if you have the optimal settings.
Go to the control panel and check dpi scaling under Appearance or Display.
It's not uncommon to see a setting of 125% or higher to improve screen readability but PSE requires a dpi of 96 or 100% Whilst the Editor Menu will appear at 120% to 149% the Organizer Menu (and the advanced button in downloader) won’t. Sometimes the mouse or tool cursors are distorted.
Try a setting of 115% or 116% otherwise 100%. A common display resolution, notably for notebooks/laptops, and netbooks is 1024 x 768 but PSE requires a screen height of 800 for full functionality. If your height resolution is out of the range 768 to 800 try experimenting with the slider.
