Menu bar color

The menu bar on the particular template I,m using seems reluctant to allow me to change the color of the background. Can anybody suggest anything please?

Bonjour
Even with the javascript solution , the search engines will find your pages sooner or later. This javascript displays the data found in a xml file. If you display or not a page in the navigation menu, only this xml file need to be published, not all the pages. It's why they choose this method. But if you made your own menu (with simple links), you will have to publish all the pages where this menu is showed and changed (it's what I do).

  • Finder Bar/Menu Bar color

    So the other day, I was in Best buy and an Apple Store near me and I saw an new iMac with the Menu bar color changed to black and the font changed to a orange or gold color. Anyone know how to do this? Not necessarily those colors but something other than white. It looked really sweet.

    I think your talking about OS X's Universal Access Preference Pane in System Preferences.
    System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing>Display>White on Black.
    Enjoy.

  • Spry Menu Bar Colors and Pictures in Dreamweaver

    I'm having some trouble changing the color of the spry menu
    bars that I created in Dreamweaver. Whenever I preview them in a
    browser they show up as grey with black text. What I want them to
    show up as is blue with white text before the mouse goes over them
    and highlights them. When the mouse goes over them I want them to
    still be blue with white text and also my drop down menu options as
    well.
    What would be the fastest and easiest way to do this and if
    there is what css code is required for me to change? I'm unfamiliar
    with how css code works.
    I'm also having some problems with copying and pasting
    pictures and editing them too. what software can i download that is
    free that i can use to edit my pictures.
    I have the trial version mind you and I'm trying to get this
    finished as fast as I can.

    Bring up your page and adjust the CSS in the
    SpryMenuHorizontal.css or
    SpryMenuVertical.css page that is attached. All the color
    values are in
    there.
    >I'm unfamiliar with how css code works.
    You need to change this. Without a thorough working knowledge
    of HTML and
    CSS (at the very least), you will never have great success in
    either
    Dreamweaver or web design. I first learned web design using
    Notepad, typing
    every single tag, and I am soo grateful now that I had that
    solid coding
    experience .. without it, this program would be very hard to
    master.

    Free? I'm not sure any more .. you can use either the 30 day
    trial of
    Fireworks or Photoshop (Fireworks would probably be easier to
    pick up) but
    if you're going to do a lot of this, you need to get some
    good tools and
    learn them well.

  • Menu Bar Color Is No Good

    I know there has got to be some sort of file that I can change that will change the transparent background color of the menu bar.  I have been able to figure out how to change the background for the notifications pane but not the main menu bar. Anyone know where the file is located?

    I would like to actually change the color more than anything else. Like in the resources folder of some file haha idk if I'm making any sense but I was able to change the background color of notifications by replacing a .tiff file, I just can't seem to find where the default "grey" color is at in any OS folders.  I know apple may not recomend doing it, but I would like to be able to. I also know there are 3rd party programs that can do it which tells me that it is a file that I can change, I just don't know its location.

  • Menu Bar - Color Change?

    I just installed leopard last night and now my menu bar is changing shades or gray, (see image) http://texasadvertising.net/seth/pic2.jpg .
    Any thoughts?

    That kind of opaque look is a feature of leopard - if you don't like it, open terminal and enter:
    sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.WindowServer 'EnvironmentVariables' -dict 'CINO_BACKGROUNDIMAGE' 0.8
    Standard is 0.7 (rather opaque) - 1 would be a solid white
    I've chosen 0.8 fitting my needs

  • Menu bar color Nothing works

    Hey guys. I have made the mistake of dragging my SArtFile.bin to my desktop. I also have the three scripts in the folders the totorial said to put them in. I moved the art file into the hard drive when i noticed everything wasnt working.. I was hoping you guys could write me a script like the post above me and if you could explain it to because I am trying to learn.
    Thanks for your time!

    Sorry, I was trying to do all of that with my iTouch.
    I found the site in which I got the downloads and instructions form. http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16802012
    Its seems they have modified it since I last was on it. The one I downloaded had no back-up file with it.
    I followed all the instructions to put files where it asked. I then dragged out the "old" file to the desktop, tried to restart my computer but nothing would then work/run. I then dragged the "old" SArtFile.bin into my hard-drive icon on the desktop.
    When I was referring to the post above, I was talking about a similar case of http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16793038
    Please tell me any other information I can try to provide.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Multiple Spry horizontal menu bars

    Hey-
    Is it possible to have multiple and slightly different Spry
    menu bars within the same site?
    I'd like to be able to have the same basic menu bar (colors,
    text sizes, etc.) I have on my home page, but with more (or less)
    buttons on a other pages.
    For example, I have a 9 button bar (no sub-menus) that works
    fine (even in IE! WOW!), but if I try to have a 10- or 11-button
    menu bar on a different page, it won't center correctly. Of course,
    any changes I make to that one to make it center affects the
    original menu, throwing it off-center.
    There must be a way to have more than one set of Spry menu
    rules for each menu bar, but I can't find the answer.
    Thanks a lot and more.
    Greg in New Orleans

    One quick and dirty way would be to copy the SpryMenubar.css
    to another name and refernce it in the new page. That way you can
    different CSS rules for each of your menubar widgets.

  • Spry Menu Bar link colors not consistent

    I have a horizontal Spry menu bar set up with 4 items in it.
    The first item is the Home link and does not have a submenu, but
    the other 3 items do. What I want is when you roll over the main 4
    items the text link color will be purple (#583399). When an item
    has a submenu the rollover text link on the submenu links will be
    green (#89b11a).
    My current code almost works, but the problem I am having is
    that the Home link
    without the submenu changes to a green color instead of
    purple like the other 3 main links. If I add a test submenu to the
    Home link then it turns purple like the other links. How can I get
    the Home link to change to purple like the others without having a
    submenu attached to it?
    Here is my html code that refers to the menu:
    <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
    <li><a href="index.html"
    class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">HOME</a></li>
    <li><a href="about.html"
    class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">ABOUT</a>
    <ul>
    <li><a
    href="services.html">services</a></li>
    <li><a

    <li><a
    href="opportunities.html">opportunities</a></li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    </ul>
    Here is the Spry CSS code that pertains to the links:
    /* Menu items are a light gray text with padding and no text
    decoration */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
    display: block;
    cursor: pointer;
    padding: 0.5em 0.75em;
    color: #666666;
    text-decoration: none;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    /* Menu items that have mouse over or focus have green text
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a:hover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal a:focus
    color: #89b11a;
    /* Menu items that are open with submenus are set to
    MenuBarItemHover with purple text */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemHover,
    color: #583399;
    /* Menu items that are open with submenus are set to
    MenuBarItemHover with purple text */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover,
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarSubmenuVisible
    color: #583399;
    And
    here
    is a link to my test file so you can see what I am talking
    about.
    Thanks for any help and let me know if you need anything else
    to help with it.

  • Is there a way to change the color of the Menu Bar (Snow Leopard)?

    Without using an external program, that is.
    I know you can change it with an external program, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to modify it from within OS X's files themselves?
    A similar question might be asked about the Dock, or Snow Leopard's Exposé.
         All modifications are done by navigating to: Mac OS Hard Drive/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/
              Modify Exposé: expose-window-selection-big.png (for non-minimized windows), expose-window-selection-small.png (for minimized windows)
              Modify the color of the Dock: scurve-l.png, scurve-m.png, scurve-sm.png, scurve-xl.png
              Modify the color of the divider between apps and folders on the Dock: separatorstraight-horizontal.png, separatorstraight.png
              Modify the icon in the Dock when Stacks are activated: pileArrow.png, pileLeftArrow.png, pileRightArrow.png

    I agree that major OS upgrades (e.g. Snow Leopard to Lion) will probably change things back to normal, and I don't entirely trust external programs to change things for me.
    I'm going to stick around with Snow Leopard for a while though, so I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to directly change the Menu Bar files themselves. The aforementioned modifications are just changes to the Dock's standard PNG files, so it's relatively easy to alter its color/design (backing up the original Dock.app just in case).

  • How do I change the color of the triangle in a menu bar?

    Hi,
    I have a question that might seem very rudimentary...How can I change the color of the little downward-pointing triangle on my menu bar items that have sub-menus? Specifically, I want those triangles to be invisible when the cursor is not over the menu bar. Right now it is black and changes to white. I'm running Dreamweaver CS5 on a Mac if that makes any difference. Is there a CSS rule for this somewhere that I am not seeing?
    Many thanks for any help!
    -AG

    Those are images, so you will need to change the image.

  • In Yosemite, How do I change the background color of menu bar, dock and sidebar?

    Right now my background for the Menu Bar, Dock, etc is RED.  I'd like to change it to something more subtle.
    Anyone know how?
    Does it relate to the desktop picture I have?  or ???

    You can change the background display color in the playback preferences, either black, white, or checkerboard. This does not change the output color. If you want to add a color to the video, you have to place a custom generator underneath your video and change the color in the inspector.

  • How I can access "Convert Colors..." button in Adobe Acrobat XI using applescript, or add this button to menu bar?

    Hi, I'm writing applescript to automate Adobe Acrobat XI, I'm missing only one line of code - opening dialog window of "Convert Colors..." tool. It was easy in Acrobat 9 but some reason it's complicated in Acrobat XI.
    Is there an option to add "Convert Colors..." as menu item into menu bar?

    Thanks Gilad D. I created JS file with simple code
    app.addMenuItem({cName:"Convert Colors", cParent:"View", cExec:'app.execMenuItem("ColorConversionMenuItem");'});
    and I added it into acrobat (USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/11.0/JavaScripts/).
    I enabled menu items JavaScript execution privileges in Acrobat Preferences.
    Now I can open "Convert Colors" from main menu bar, and create applescript which do the same.

  • Need transparent background color in Spry Menu Bar

    Tried every possible combination.
    Built a 150x1000 px header in Illustrator with a 20x1000 px rectangle at the bottom for the nav bar, set as a background image in the header within Dreamweaver.
    Can not make a transparent (no color) background within Spry Menu Bar: MenuBar1??
    Also, my first nav is 'Welcome' that <li></li> is about 6-8 px higher then the rest of the nav bar??
    Any help at all would be appreciated, thanks

    Have you tried changing the value of the Background colour in your CSS:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
        cursor: pointer;
        text-align: center;
        padding-top: 2px;
        padding-bottom: 2px;
        text-decoration: none;
        color: #FFF;
        padding-right: 2px;
        padding-left: 2px;
        display: block;
        background-color: #223F9A;

  • Messed up color menu bar

    Hello everybody,
    Yesterday I was googling because I had a problem with time machine displaying wrong dates on my old backups, I found this command to copy/paste on terminal which I did.
    rm ~/library/preferences/.Global* ~/library/preferences/byhost/.Global*
    That command fixed my problem with time machine but created another one, that is that my menu bar is color blue (before it used to be graphite) and after trying everything I could think of nothing seems to make it back to graphite.
    Those anyone can help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Mental note,
    That command reset all my preferences. The thing that was causing the menu bar to be blue was that I had "Translucent menu bar" checked on System Preferences>Desktop & Screen Saver.
    In case anyone else ran into this to save him/her some time.

  • Tri-color spry menu bar

    Thank you for viewing my post!
    I am having trouble editing the default spry menu bar .css file
    How do I edit the spry menu .css file to display two different roll over colors for the menu and submenu?
    My goal is to have a blue menu bar with gray rollover color, gray drop down submenus with their own orange rollover color.
    I tried giving ul.MenuBarHorizontal li its own style but I think something else in the .css is preventing this (or my own skill is).
    Thank you ahead of time to the kind soul who can help me with this!

    Have a look at this David Powers tutorial http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/sprymenu/customize1.php
    I hope this helps.
