Menu bar error

the menu bars sometimes shows all sub levels open in all the pages in muse plan and muse design.
the only way I can fix this is to click on each top level menu item in Each master page, which is about
100 items or more. the menu bar displays closed normally in preview and when published.
i reported this problem over a year ago, and it stills occurs.
here is my plan view. notice how all the menu bar items are extend to show all sublevels

i don't want to delete and menu's and rebuild them with a new widget.....

thank you about the menu info. I thought I was just loosing my mind. I don't know exactly what action
causes all the menus to display fully, but it's a mess. OK good news is that it's not me.
when I started this site, I was not able to apply a master page to a master page, so I ended up with a LOT of duplicate menus and headers and footers. Yes I would like to have one master page that has just the header, menu bar and footer, and apply that to all the other master pages. I have a row of 4 pics very carefully formatted between the header and the menu bar. I"m a little worried how to apply the header and menubar as a master and keep the distance exactly right ( they are already grouped. maybe if I lock it too, then it's exactly in position.
all the pics are a standard size. I would appreaciate any suggestions about this.

the map page has the footer skewed far to the right somehow. this is very odd since this is a footer is from a master page
so how can it be moved like that. I did recently update the map insert, as the old one suddenly had errors in it
( like all my embed html code is suddenly not working properly) I can't understand how an item on a page can
move the location of an item from the master page.

I have not changed any of these pages for months and everything was ok, now in the last few days,
I have updated my calendar and and map pages and they are strange. the calendar is a mess. the map displays ok,
but the footer is skewed half way off the page.
also the html code in the footer don't display and I have not touched them for a year.

Spry menu bar error in IE 9

Hi everyone,
I added a Spry Menu Bar (menubar1) to my site layout using Dreamweaver CS3. When I clicked 'Live mode' everything looked fine but when I previewed it in a browser and since then I have recently uploaded it to test it out I get white blocks to the right of the nav bar in Internet Explorer 9 (only). When I previewed it in a browser (prior to uploading it) a dialog box would pop up asking to allow blocked content at the bottom. When I clicked "allow" white blocky rectangles showed up to the right of the tabs. I have no idea what it is or why it's showing up. It only seems to be doing this in IE 9 (as I checked it in Firefox & Chrome with no problems to report) when I acknowledge the blocked content by clicking 'allow'. If I ignore the message and click the x the white blocks don't show up. But now that I have it uploaded the blocked content box doesn't show up but I still get the white boxes to the right of the navigation bar. And it's only happening in Internet Explorer (I have version 9 for Windows Vista). I'm attaching a URL to all my files including the html, javascript, CSS, etc.. Note: the files you want to take a look at to see what I'm talking about are: indextest.html and abouttest.html.

Thanks altruistic gramps for the help. Changing the color of the blocks fixed it however there is a slight overlap between the box and the green border. If you go to: http://www.test.ashleysperrydesigns.com/indextest.html you will see what I mean. I know there has to be an easy fix but I don't know how to do it. Do you mind taking a look?

Spry menu bar error in firefox....driving me nuts!

First of all, thank you in advance for all your help. I have a problem that I can't fix and it is driving me insane.
I have vertical spry menu bar that shows a scroll bar on mouse over in firefox. Here's what driving me insane. A buddy of mine came to me with this problem on his website http://www.fransky.com a while back and I fixed it. But I can't remember what I did. Now he has a new domain and moved the site to the new location http://www.franskyselfdefense.com The old one is still up and running and works fine in firefox. The new one has the srcoll bar over the buttons on mouse over again in firefox. SpryAssets are the same. Identical pages uploaded to either website will work on the old site - and will not work on the new location. I can't find a major difference in the uploaded folders. I thought it must be a site wide configuration but I can not find anything.
It is getting to me guys, can you please help. I tried everything I could think of and I can't, for the life of me, remember what I did the last time. I know that the site has a lot of trash in the code. Was my buddies first shot and he changed and deleted a lot in the process and there is a lot of resedue in the code. We will start over in time, now that he knows what he wants, but I need to get this working for him. It's his source of income and I don't think I have enough space for him and his family as new roommates :-)
I fixed it before and I am not that smart, obviously or I would remember.
Any idea?

One more thing that I forgot. We moved the online store to the new location. The better link for the comparison is http://www.fransky.com/shop.html because it has all the sub items too and is just an older version of the http://www.franskyselfdefense.com/index.html with a little bit different content, but no major changes in the menu bar.
I uploaded the new index up to fransky.com as http://www.fransky.com/index75 as comparison and you can see that it works just fine there.

Translucent Menu Bar error

Hi,
My new iMac 24" C2D 2.8 always starts up with the opaque menu bar. I always have to run System Preferences to make it translucent again. This issue started to occur after 10.5.5 update. Is there a way to solve it?

Move the com.apple.desktop.plist out of /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, restart, and reset the Desktop prefPane setting. If that fixes the problem, reset the other Desktop/Screensaver settings and delete the moved file. If the problem persists, create a new admin user account, log into it, and check the settings persistence. Report back.

Try below steps once
click Gear icon on the top Right corner and Quit Creative Cloud App
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Make sure to open ~/Library not /Library ( there will be two Library folders )
Then open Application Support > Adobe folders
Trash AAMUpdater and OOBE folders.
Then launch Creative Could and check.

Error message regarding a spry menu bar

Hello there,
i'm fairly new at Dreamweaver and have been creating my own site.
I have created a template and within this i have formed a spry menu bar. Now it is reporting that there is an error and can not implement updates to my child pages and i may have to insert a tag at the 'head' (thats when i update child pages). Very frustrated.

Javascript error when selecting Spry Menu Bar in Design View

Hi there,
I get the following error message when trying to format the Spry Menu Bar in Design View:
"while executing inspectSelection in spry_menu.htm, a Javascript error occurred."
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
deleting site cache
closing/re-opening Dreamweaver
deleting Spry Menu Bar and recreating - same error occurs.
Other information:
I am using a MacBook Pro
it happens when clicking on the Menu Bar itself. I just want to change the properties
the Spry Menu Bar does not appear in Live View.

The problem appears to have returned. I am getting the same error message as before and also an error saying there is a syntax error in my source code. Dreamweaver tells me which line the error is in:

I am using version 0.13 of SpryMenuBar.js (is this what you mean?)

Links don't work on Menu Bar: swf file location error too.

Hi folks, I'm using CS5 and Menu Bar 2.0 and am getting this error when attempting to save files using a particular template: http://imm.io/3chF
When I upload my site, some of the links are faulty, presumably to do with this error. I've tried using Menu Bar 1 and get the same error message.
The files it asks for are already in my root directory as well as in the Scripts directory. Where should they be?
FYI my test site is at http://www.arrowmark.co.nz/web4/portfolio.html. Links work from this page, but they do not work within other pages based on that template. Eg you can get from there to tatler.html but that's where the linkage fails.

When i add menu bar in my user interface gives me error that this handle is not a panel handle(return value -42)

i have 3 panels in my application and parent panel is displayed first then i display other two panels which come to the front then on entering correct password i discard the child panel and then you can see parent panel , but there is an issue when i add menu to my parent panel i dont know whats wrong when i add menu bar in my user interface (parent panel) gives me error that this handle is not a panel handle(return value -42) for a child panel. when i dont open and display child panel then its fine , and even without menu added to my parent panel all my panels and my application works perfactly

some more informations are needed in order to properlu help you in this situation:
- Are you adding menus dynamically at runtime or in the UIR editor? If dynamically: how are you loading the menu bar?
- Are you dynamically tailoring the menu bar at runtime (adding or deleting menu items, dimming / undimming some of them or checking / unchecking)?
- Can you post the code where you are getting the error, documenting variables and scope (local to the function, global to the source file, global to the project)?
You can look at uirview.prj example that ships with CVI for an example of LoadMenuBar (the exampl eis in <CVI samples>\userint folder): in that project, the menu bar is shown as a context menu when you right-click on a tree element (see DeferredMenuCB callback).

I have google in my menu bar but all I get is a message error

I am running the latest Firefox under XP with all its updates and have Google search in my menu bar, if I ask it anything a message comes "Secure Connection Failed" along with a reference (error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long).
I have a homepage of Madasafish which has a google search box which works OK.

This error message pops up when you don't have programmed any error handling!
Well, you use "Write to spreadsheet file" for saving your data. Look inside this function (and it's subvi "Write Spreadsheet string") to see how to use low level file functions. After the "Open/Create/Replace File" you have to check for any error (like error 8)...

Spry Menu Bar Javascript Error - items[i].getElements..."a")[0] is undefined

I have used a spry menu bar on several websites now, and It works very well.
However, I get a javascript error everytime a page loads. Like I said the menu bar works, but i would like my page to run error free.
The error is this items[i].getElements..."a")[0] is undefined
and it occurs in the following block of code from the spry js file.

The problem could be in your HTML-code or even in your modified style sheet.
So that we do not have to guess, please give us these code, preferably by supplying an online URL.
