Menu bar has line across it

I've gotten back my usual display, including the title bar+buttons, etc. Everything works, but there's a glitch in the menu bar. It LOOKS as if its two menu bars, one about 2/3 the size of the other, and so it looks like a line across the screen.
There's no place here to put the screenshot I took. :(

This mmight be a toolbar that is visible that doesn't have items on it.
You can use one of these to set which toolbars to show.
*3-bar Firefox menu button > Options/Preferences
*View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden Menu bar)
*Right-click empty toolbar area
Also make sure that only toolbars that you need and use have a checkmark in the Classic Theme Restorer Options/Preferences.

  • Top menu bar has disappeared. Unable to maximize or minimize or close using mouseclick

The menu bar at the top that has a red dot and a max/minimize button next to that has disappeared, and the browser now completely blocks the menu bar I usually have at the bottom of my screen that allows me to tab between applications.

    Hello Ben.
If you could provide me with a [http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-of-the-Entire-Screen screenshot], that would be perfect. In any case, if it's just a matter of the Menu Bar being gone, press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make it temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If it's something else, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • My Menu Bar has gone + Date and Time causes System Preferences to freeze

Hi my ibook has recently lost its menu bar, I have had a search around the forum to see if i can find the answer but i cant. If you reselect items from system preferences such as bluetooth display etc. nothing appears in the menu bar. If i go to the time and date menu just opening it causes sytem prefs to stop responding and you can only force quit out of it. Are the two things related?
I tryed to remove the com.apple.systemmenu file as one of the post on here said to do, but alas nothing. is it gone for ever?
Will i have to reinstall os-x
    Many thanks in advance

could this be involved? or does the mac not even get time to place the icon before it freezes.
Yes, it might. I thought I had reproduced this, since I also got "Click the lock to make changes" with no icon, but after a short delay the "open lock" icon appeared and the text changed to "Click the lock to prevent further changes". So maybe this shows there is a problem with the icon file. More on this later.
    is this another factor?
Does your login password still work as the keychain password? If so, start Keychain access and choose Keychain First Aid from the application menu.
I doubt this will affect the lock icon, but let us know if the keychain password problem goes away first, then we can look at the other problem.

  • Time stamp wrong in skype and thunderbird while menu bar has correct time

I noticed in my applications like Skype, MSN Messenger, Thunderbird email that the time stamp was wrong. But the Menu Bar clock and the system preferences Date and Time were correct. My exact error is that the app timestamp always showed the time as PM.
I googled for answers and several topics mentioned a locked / misplaced / corrupted localtime file.
However, The real reason is that I had a custom time format under Languages and Text system preference. For some reason the custom format showed morning as PM and evening as PM. I opened the preference, selected time, and changed it from Custom to USA.
There are several similar errors (always showing 20 before time, ie 20:43, always is 7 oclock, ie 7:32, or etc) that were mentioned in other tickets I read.
I followed this post to go into languages and Text to correct the custom time format; http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11503087 (see last post. IGNORE the part about plist!)

Mail displays the date & time according to your System Preferences > International > Formats settings. The specific format used (i.e. Short, Long, etc.) may depend on the column width. It looks like there is something wrong with your Dates > Customize or Times > Customize settings there...
    > I've tried expanding the date column width in Mail, and changing to US
(instead of International) Date / Time format in my system preferences
Not sure what you mean. I don’t see an “International” option anywhere other than the name of the International preferences panel itself...

    Hi Slattonmom,

  • My Mac Menu Bar has 2 Abode Icons.  How can I get rid of one?

Hi there. My status bar has a "Creative Cloud Icon" (with the number 6 next to it) and a second "Adobe Icon" (with a 5 next to it).  See attached.
When I click the Adobe icon, it just opens Creative Cloud updater anyway.
I don't mind having the creative cloud icon, but the other is redundant, takes up space, and displays different information.  How do I get rid of the second one?
    Thanks, Jon

    Hi There,
Kindly try the below mentioned steps.
    1. Open Activity monitor.
    2. Search for process similar to AAM notifier:
    3. if you are able to find it, kindly quit that process.
    Thanks,

  • Help - My mail menu bar has changed languages!

Mail - changed into another language and will not work. Help????

    Klaus1 wrote:
... as I said, you can get it back via Customize Toolbar.
Either or both of two situations can apply in this situation:
    1) The Toolbar is hidden, and therefore needs to be displayed again, which can be accomplished with the menu command *View > Show Toolbar*.
    2) The "Address and Search" item in the toolbar has been removed, which can be replaced using *View > Customize Toolbar* and dragging that item back into the Toolbar.
When the problem in #1 is the situation, solution #2 doesn't help because, after following those instructions, the toolbar is still hidden.
