Menu bar not alligned in IE
Hi all,
I have created a top and bottom menu bar in the header that looks fine in Safari and Firefox. It is basically a menu list on the top of the header and then towards the bottome of the header. However, in Internet Explorer, the menu items don't line up vertically. Any suggestions on what I need to do to make it view correctly (as it does in Firefox and Safari) would be greatly appreciated. Page is located:

Thanks Kirk
Just make sure your css for the 3 menu bars looks as below: (I've only amended some of it and added a couple of additional css selectors but can't remember which so you'll have to go through it and cross reference it with what you currently have)
#topleftmenubar {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;
height: 27px;
width: 390px;
float: left;
#topleftmenubar ul {
list-style-type: none;

#topleftmenubar li {

Menu bar not appears in some applications.
Hi, all!
I have a strange problem and really need help:
top menu bar not appears, when i start some applications.
For example, Numbers, keynote, quicktime and, in the end, Finder!
Problem solves when i replace the .app file of the application with the file from another computer, but it appears again with another application. No errors, no messages, just no menu bar in the top.
I don't know why it happens and don't know how to diagnose this problem.Sometimes something as simple as restarting the computer will resolve system quirks. If that does not work, boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.

Spry menu bar not working in IE
Hi there,
This is the first time I'm using Spry. Everything was fine until I tested the site in IE. My top menu moves position upon rollover and the submenu doesn't show at all. I looked at the forums and thought I would add the IE hack into the code, but upon doing that I saw that it was already there. I'm not sure where to go from here. Please help, many thanks in advance!
Update Note: I just noticed it says it's version 1.4. I did update to 1.6. When I check for Spry updates it does say I am using 1.6, but appears to be 1.4 in the css code. Any reason why?

background: #FFF;OK... what I needed was a proper update... not sure why it didn't work the first time, but now I am definitely running 1.6. My initial problems are no longer relevant.
However.... this created a few other obstacles. The background color, text color, text-transform, and all hover attributes are not working in IE. Confused I am.

Spry menu bar not visible in live view
Hi everyone,
I was just working on the css for my spry menu bar and went to check it out in the live view, but it is no longer visible. I checked it out in Safari and Firefox to no avail. It looks totally fine in the design view in Dreamweaver. I'm new to web design and I have no idea what I did, but I'm really hoping someone here does! Below is the CSS.

SPRY menu bar not working in IE 9
Hey! I recently just finished building my very first website using Dreamweaver CS5.5! It looks really great and works perfectly in firefox and safari however the SPRY menu bar does not work in IE 8 or 9. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this without messing up how the website looks in firefox and safari?
thanks,
Toby

SpryMenuBar.js
This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar. You should have no need
to edit this file. Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep

<p>Integrated Sensors is the first company in the world to apply the high gain, high-performance advantages of low cost PDP-TV (plasma display panel) technology to radiation detection. This has resulted in the development of what is now known as the Plasma Panel Sensor (PPS), which has been called a <em>revolutionary</em> technology by U.S. government scientists. </p>
<p>Integrated Sensors with seven issued patents holds all of the core intellectual property - which is seminal in scope - on the PPS radiation detector technology. The PPS could well prove to be a transformational technology for a number of <em>multibillion</em> dollar industries, ranging from radiation therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, to medical imaging, to homeland security. </p>
<p>With a secure IP and patent position established, and an international collaborative team involving over a dozen world-class scientists, and with substantial research investment by the U.S. government, Integration Sensors is now transitioning to the commercialization of its technology.</p>

Trouble with Spry Menu Bar Not Opening on Hover
I have two Spry Menu Bars on this one page. They were both working fine. Now the menu bar on the top right is not opening on rollover. I have uploaded the Spry .JS and .CSSfiles to the server.Could it be that I added 2 to the names of the CSS styles, but not all of them? I just tested them all with 2 after the style name, and it didn't fix it.
I also noticed that the ability to edit these two navigation bars using the Property Inspector went away. I can't seem to click on them to edit. Now I edit them through the code only.
Rebuild it on another page, and paste in the code?
Suggestions?
ALso, getting an error message on line 2 of HTML below, which I don't remember editing.
I will paste the template page HTML, then the CSS, then the Javascript Spry file for Menu Bar Horizontal. I did not edit the JS file at all.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

<h1>A Tradition Food And Sports: <br />
CC & Panino’s Love of Hockey Runs From Colorado to Minnesota</h1>
<h4>Byline: By Jim Bainbridge, The Gazette</h4>
<p>No Colorado Springs business has had a deeper bond with the Colorado College hockey program during the past three decades than Panino’s Restaurant, a connection seen on its walls, in its clientele and in its bloodlines.<br />
Panino’s has been tied to the school’s hockey program since the restaurant was bought in 1974 by former CC All-America hockey player Tony Frasca. It’s still the place to be on game day a generation later with his son Mike running things. <a href="http://daily.gazette.com/Repository/ml.asp?Ref=VGhlR2F6ZXR0ZS8yMDA1LzAzLzI5I0FyMDMzMDI=&Mo de=HTML&Locale=english-skin-custom"><span class="smalltext">Click here to view entire article.</span></a><br />

SpryMenuBar.js
This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar. You should have no need
to edit this file. Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
showing that submenu until the timer fires.

Since there is nothing there, it's like trying to click a link that is outside your home while you are staring through a window. Personally with that page setup you have now I really don't see a need for absolutely positioned elements. But if you feel you will require them as part of your design you need to ensure the z-index of your menu layer is greater than that of the body elements positioned below it.

Spry Horizontal Menu Bar not working in IE
Hi! I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver. I recently used Dreamweaver to build a website to display my digital portfolio. I am not very good at this and don't understand much of this works. I inserted a spry horizontal menu bar for my navigation. I did change the original set up to have the background the colors I wanted and I also changed the size so it would go across the top of my page. This looks fine in Firefox and Safari but in Internet Explorer the bar displays vertically, which does not look good. Can anyone look at my code and tell me how I can fix this problem?
I appreciate any help I can get with this as I have tried everything I know.
This is the link to my site: www.digitaldesignsbymargee.comHi! I am new to this forum. Spry Menu Bar not showing up in Internet Explorer 7
So, after hours of playing with CSS code yesterday and today,
I finally got my Spry navigation bar laid out the way I would like
it to display in Safari. It look a very long time for me to
customize it the way I wanted it, but it the end, it turned out
fine.
Then... to my horror, I jumped into Internet Explorer 7, and
there is no navigation bar to be seen. I've heard of some problems
when viewing Spry menus in different browsers, but I never heard of
the menu simply not being displayed.
Any ideas on why this would occur? You can view the page I'm
working on
here.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!I am sorry, but I do not see a SpryMenuBar in your document nor do i see a problem with the menubar that you do have. I have tested in IE7+

Horizontal Menu Bar - Not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer
My issues are occuring in Internet Explorer 8 and 7, haven't tested earlier versions.
I am currently using DW CS5, Spry 1.6.1
The website (not yet complete) is at www3.sympatico.ca/mitchell.richard/
The menu bar as viewed in Firefox is correct. In Internet Explorer the menu bar is left justified, hides visited links, and lists horizontal menu items in reverse order.
I work for a Women's Shelter in Canada, as the Information Systems Manager. We don't have the funds to hire someone to build a website and it was decided and I quote "You know computers, you can buld the website". I couldn't get them to understand the analogy that just because a Neurosurgeon can use a scalpel he isn't a Cardiothoracic Surgeon... needless to say, I am floudering on this menu bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Below is the source for my menubar

The red coloured line causes your menu to be displayed the wrong way round in FF. IE shows the menu as you have listed it with Contact Us as the first item.
Advice:
change the float to left so that the listed items start on the left hand side
change the listed items in the order that you want them to appear. -
Spry menu bar not working in Contribute
I have created a site in Dreamweaver which my client will
edit in Contribute. However when i view the site in Contribute -
the Spry menu bar doesn't show up like it did in Dreamweaver.
instead it shows up like a text list. Has anyone run into this
issue before? if so how did you resolve it. Thank you.Although, I did download IE-Tester which allows you to test in different IE versions and it does not seen to work there?
IE-tester shows that you have got a problem 0n line #102. Unfortunately, the tester cannot be relied upon reflecting the correct line number. There is a problem on line #27 where there is no space in front of "type="
<script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBar.js"type="text/javascript"></script>
and line #86 where there is no space before "rel="
<link href="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBarVertical.css"rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Now for my next problem, and if I can get this working I should be in fairly good shape. I had made some formatting changes (centered the menu bar, and made some color changes) See below, however those are now not working..Normally, when a question has been answered, it is marked as correct and any new questions are asked in a new post.
However, you caught me in a good mood, just signed contracts for three new projects one as far away as Switserland.
Lines #27 and #28 look like
<script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBar.js"type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBarVertical.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Lines #84 and #86 look like
<script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/menubar/SpryMenuBarVertical.css"rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
This may not confuse the browser, but it is not very conducive. Remove either set of links.
When I look at SpryMenuBarVertical.css
change the value of line 16 to auto, has not been done
starting at line 81, change the highlighted values, has not been done
So it is no wonder there are no changes.

Horizontal Menu Bar not formatting correctly in IE
I am trying to get my menu bar to properly format in IE. It
works fine in Opera, Firefox, and Safari. What I am having problems
with is with how the sub menus pop up. In IE they show up above the
menu bar instead of below the menu bar. Any help would be
appreciated. My web page is www.artsbeercans.com Thanks!OK, I went ahead and posted it live, even though it's not how I want it.
I think if I could make the horizontal menu boxes smaller, they could
all fit across - is there anyway to make each box fit the word that's
in it, instead of them all being 160 px? That might make room for
them all to fit across.....
Because can you see that the "Other" is now on the second row, and
pushes over the vertical menu box?

Horizontal menu bar not aligning
Hello all,
I have two questions.
First: In LiveView, the dropdown menus on my spry menu bar do not drop down...however they do when I upload the file to the web? I have never had that do that before...any ideas?
Second: I created a horizontal spry navigation bar for a test page. I can not get the navigation bar to all line up on one line. If I insert each button individually (without doing a spry nav bar) they will line up on one row. I have done spry nav bars before and not had this problem. There is a sample of the navigation bar on a testsite: http://www.auburnillinois.us/testsite
If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate the help!
Thank you in advance
ChrisHi, Chris,
It appears to me that the image you have inserted at the beginning of your <tr><td> (see below) may be wide enough to push the rest of the menu off its tracks.
<tr>
<td colspan="2"><img src="images/navigation_bar_01.gif" width="109" height="25">
<ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
<li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image6','','images/gov_tab2.gif',1)"><img src="images/gov_tab.gif" name="Image6" width="134" height="25" border="0"></a>
<ul>
<li><a href="city_hall.html" class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">City Hall</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="city_maps.html">City Maps</a></li>
Have you considered centering your menubar in a div within the <td> and using the image as a background? I see you have placed it at the other end, too. You could first off try reducing the width of those images.

I am working on putting together our site and haven't used Dreamweaver in years so very rusty. I have a horizontal menu bar that is working properly in "live view" and in "preview" mode but when I publish the submenus are not working.
You can view the site at www.pulsecc.org
Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you so much! That's a little frustrating how long I pulled my hair out trying to figure something this simple out!
