Menu bar not showing in IE, but in DW CS5 'live view' it's there.

I am having problems with my webpage, for some reason when I am in DW live view everything works,but when I go to preview in browser the menu bar doesn't show up. I have made sure that my local and testing server files are all synced. Here is a link to my html page.

my menu bar is an 'includes' file so that I only have to update the css one time and it will update every page on my website.

You would need to post your code into a reply using the web forum's double arrows > syntax highlighting > plain.
1) Did you name your parent pages with a supported extension to tell the server to parse server-side includes? Some common ones are .shtm, .shtml, php, or asp.
2) Does your web server support the use of server-side includes?
3) To preview includes locally, you need a local testing server installed on your computer. Do you have one?
4) Does your include file contain ONLY the menu HTML code and nothing else?

Version Cue in Bridge: Menu Bar not showing

I am a new Bridge user. I started to go through a tutorial and learn Version Cue. When I start Version Cue by using the Favorites in Bridge, (I have the layout set to default) and there is a large CONTENT panel in the center, it shows the Icons on the dark background, eg: Browse Servers, Recent Projects, [my version cue server]
What the tutorial is showing and my page does not, is a light gray/white menu bar above with some smaller icons, eg. one for Inspector, one for New Project...
How do I get that to show? I can work around some of this, but I have not been able to find how to show multiple versions in the Content window without it.

You need to specify which exact version of Bridge and the OS you are running.
Aside from that, you should know that disabling Version Cue is often recommended as a remedy for a variety of Bridge ailments.
I don't have the suite and I have Version Cue permanently disabled.

Mirroring option in menu bar not showing in Moutain Lion

Under Displays I have selected to show the mirroring options menu bar but nothing shows up. Is anyone else having this problem

Sorry it toke me a while to get back at you. My discussion is not about the AirPlay portion of Mirroring, but simply about the Display Menu in the Statue Bar.

Spry Menu Bar not showing up in Internet Explorer 7

So, after hours of playing with CSS code yesterday and today,
I finally got my Spry navigation bar laid out the way I would like
it to display in Safari. It look a very long time for me to
customize it the way I wanted it, but it the end, it turned out
fine.
Then... to my horror, I jumped into Internet Explorer 7, and
there is no navigation bar to be seen. I've heard of some problems
when viewing Spry menus in different browsers, but I never heard of
the menu simply not being displayed.
Any ideas on why this would occur? You can view the page I'm

I am sorry, but I do not see a SpryMenuBar in your document nor do i see a problem with the menubar that you do have. I have tested in IE7+

Spry menu bar not showing submenus

I am having a problem with my spry vertical menu bar. It works just fine on my machine, but on the live server the submenus will not display. The website in question is www.staffords-catalog.com. The company I work for uses asp, so I pasted the following code into the <head> of the default.asp page.

Status in Menu Bar - not showing and can't be selected

I have just found that none of the Apple Preference Panes will permit their status to be shown in the Menu Bar - whilst none Apple Preference Panes do.
At first I thought it was just Time Machine. I noticed the Time Machine icon swirling around in a finder window and went to click on its Menu Bar icon to see how much data it was backing up (hence how long it was going to take) but it wasn't there. When I went into Time Machine's Preference Pane and ticked the box, the tick appeared for a fraction of a second and disappeared.
After a restart it returned but now I have noticed that none of the Apple Preference Panes which I have tried allow their status to be shown:
Time Machine, Spaces, Displays, Sound, Bluetooth, Airport - not even the Clock!
Has anybody any idea why this might be, please?

It occurred to me that this might be a permissions problem - I had repaired permissions using TechTool Pro a few days ago and that may have caused this - who knows!
Anyway, I'm just re-repairing permissions using Disk Utility. It says 'Estimated Time: 3 hours' which considering previous permissions repair seems a long time - maybe that is an indication of the problem.
I'll post again in 3 hours!

PDF menu bar not showing in firefox by default :(

When I open a PDF in Firefox the PDF menu bar doesn't show and I need to press the function key (fn) and f8 for it to show every time I download a PDF. Is there anyway of having the PDF menu bar show by default?

In the meantime, run your code through the W3C validation tools & fix reported errors. Browser display problems are almost always caused by coding errors.

Nautilus menu bar not show

hi, i installed a new version of gnome-shell 3.6
And in nautilus have a new shortcut for delete files/folders the new shortcut is ctrl+delete.
I see in tutorial how to change to delete key but i have a problem, i can't see menubar in nautilus.

A few days ago, Firefox became too big for my screen. I have to move the the cursor to the very top to get the menu bar to show, and then it only stays if I hold the cursor there. Very annoying.

The bottom of the browser window is also below the bottom of the screen.

Yreka! Must have hit F11. Hit it again and toggled away to regular view. Thank you.

Spry menu bar not visible in live view

I was just working on the css for my spry menu bar and went to check it out in the live view, but it is no longer visible. I checked it out in Safari and Firefox to no avail. My guess is that you have a dark background in which case the menu items will not be seen.
I suggest you have a look here first http://www.dwcourse.com/dreamweaver/ten-commandments-spry-menubars.php#one, then resurrect the original SpryMenuBarVertical.css and change as required.

You got me experimenting ... and it was viewing the display with the green button (rather than amber) on the left that revealed the menu bar. Hovering didn't do it. Thanks for your help. First time in Apple Support.

Showing the Date (month & day) in the Menu Bar, Not just the Day of the Wee

Since upgrading to 10.5 from 10.4, I've noticed that the menu bar no longer shows the date (month and day, it just shows the day of the week.
Is there a way to get the menu bar to show the month and day again as it did in 10.4?

Tiger had to be changed in the same way as Leopard.
Start by opening the International Preferences panel, and clicking the Formats tab.
In the Dates section, click Customize. Click the Show pop-up and select your choice of Short, Medium, etc. Now place the elements you want in the small "work area," by dragging and dropping them from the Date Elements section. Once placed, you can click on some elements to see other options (Wednesday or Wed, for instance). Once you've built the date string you want, click once in the work area, and hit Command-A then Command-C to select the string and copy it. Now click Cancel to close the window without making any changes.
In the Times section, click Customize, and set the Show pop-up to Medium. In the small work area below the pop-up, place the curser where you want the date elements to start, and click to position the cursor. Now hit Command-V to paste the elements you just copied. You can further add characters and spaces to customize the look. If you want to remove an element (i.e. the year), click on it and use the Delete key. Click OK, and you'll see the results in the menubar.

Menu bar wont show up

Hello,
As you may have read my menu bar disappeared. I have tried everything from going into system preferences, goign to clock, and trying to put my clock back on the menu bar, but no luck! The thing is, everytime I install a new application that involves a menu bar it shows it! Is there any command key I could have pressed or option that hid them?

Hi, j.
1. By "menu bar" it sounds like you are referring to the right side of the menu bar where menu extras — the icons on the right side of the menu bar other than the Spotlight icon — appear. Correct?
2. If so, you may have installed a third-party menu extra that is problematic. What menu extras are you expecting to see?
3. If Front Row did not come installed on your Mac Mini and you installed a hacked copy of Front Row, this can cause the problem you are seeing. See my "Uninstalling the Front Row hack" FAQ.
4. An errant Startup or Login Item maybe the cause. Many third-party menu extras are launched as such items. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
5. Try the following:5.1. Drag the following two files to your desktop:
• com.apple.systemuiserver.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder.
• com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences > ByHost folder, where xxx is an alphanumeric string.
These are the preferences for SystemUIServer, which controls menu extras.
5.2. Restart your Mac.
5.3. Reconfigure your menu extras, enabling only Apple-provided menu extras.6. Immediately after the problem occurs, check the ends of these Console logs for clues, especially messages related to SystemUIServer crashing.
7. As a general checkup, I suggest you run the procedure outlined in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.
Note that I recommend performing Step 4 above before Step 5 since if an errant, third-party menu extra is causing the problem, if it is launched as a Startup or Login item it may reinsert itself in SystemUIServer preferences each time you startup your Mac or log in to your account. You could reverse the order of Steps 4 and 5, but if you perform Step 5 before Step 4, you may again need to perform Step 5 after performing Step 4.
