Menu bar not working properly in IE 7 or 8.....

Hey dudes,
I am new to all of this, and i see my site works fine in Chrome and Firefox, but in IE 7 and 8 the menu appears along the top, rather than the side
I am guessing it has something to do with borders or margins???
but could someone who knows what they are doing have a look and tell me where i have gone wrong?

SPRY menu bar not working in IE 9
Hey! I recently just finished building my very first website using Dreamweaver CS5.5! It looks really great and works perfectly in firefox and safari however the SPRY menu bar does not work in IE 8 or 9. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this without messing up how the website looks in firefox and safari?

Menu bar not displaying properly
On boot-up I am have a recurring problem. About 80% of the time I login to my account (1 user, auto logs in on startup), several menu bar icons do not load. This includes 3rd party icons and 2nd party icons (built-in). It's difficult to compare the menu bar with everything loaded properly and when some things are missing because I can't look at both at once =/ . The noticeable absences include lack of battery status icon, wifi connectivity icon, and iStat menus CPU usage. Even when I go to System Preferences to make sure that it says "Show ____ status in menu bar" is checked, and when I uncheck and recheck it, nothing happens. Oftentimes I just have to log out and log back in, however it usually doesn't work. Any ideas as to what might be causing this.
The menu bar extras are handled by SystemUIServer, which evidently is having a problem with something you have installed. While it seems to be more robust in Leopard than it was in earlier versions of Mac OS, it can still choke up on third party things (it used to choke even on some Apple menu bar extras). First take a look in your startup items, and see what, if anything, is there and loading menu bar extras, make a note of what it is so you can add it back later, and delete it.
Then try deleting the preference list for SystemUIServer:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
and also the cache file for it:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.systemuiserver.0017f20dca84 .plist
Log out and back in. Now go to the Apple items and re-enable the ones you need. Run for awhile and restart. Next add ONE of the third-party items back and see how things go. Each time you restart put another item back. You ought to eventually figure out which one is causing the problem. You'll have to learn to live without it, or check to see if the program that has it has an updater for Leopard.

Spry menu bar not working in IE
Hi there,
This is the first time I'm using Spry. Everything was fine until I tested the site in IE. My top menu moves position upon rollover and the submenu doesn't show at all. I looked at the forums and thought I would add the IE hack into the code, but upon doing that I saw that it was already there. I'm not sure where to go from here. Please help, many thanks in advance!
Update Note: I just noticed it says it's version 1.4. I did update to 1.6. When I check for Spry updates it does say I am using 1.6, but appears to be 1.4 in the css code. Any reason why?

However.... this created a few other obstacles. The background color, text color, text-transform, and all hover attributes are not working in IE. Confused I am.

Spry Horizontal Menu Bar not working in IE
Hi! I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver. I recently used Dreamweaver to build a website to display my digital portfolio. I am not very good at this and don't understand much of this works. I inserted a spry horizontal menu bar for my navigation. I did change the original set up to have the background the colors I wanted and I also changed the size so it would go across the top of my page. This looks fine in Firefox and Safari but in Internet Explorer the bar displays vertically, which does not look good. Can anyone look at my code and tell me how I can fix this problem?

Spry menu bar not working in Contribute
I have created a site in Dreamweaver which my client will
edit in Contribute. However when i view the site in Contribute -
the Spry menu bar doesn't show up like it did in Dreamweaver.
instead it shows up like a text list. Has anyone run into this
issue before? if so how did you resolve it. Thank you.Although, I did download IE-Tester which allows you to test in different IE versions and it does not seen to work there?
IE-tester shows that you have got a problem 0n line #102. Unfortunately, the tester cannot be relied upon reflecting the correct line number. There is a problem on line #27 where there is no space in front of "type="

Scroll Bars Not Working Properly with Multiple Displays
Do the following on a laptop that supports having the desktop spread across multiple monitors. Display 1 is the laptop screen, Display 2 is an external monitor.
Open a SQL*Developer window in Display 2.
Open a SQL Worksheet.
Run a query that produces more rows than will fit in the results window, e.g. "select * from user_objects".
Click, hold, and slide the vertical scroll bar handle downward in the results tab.
The rows do not scroll. Garbled characters appear in the last row.
Move the window to Display 1. The scroll bar works properly. Rows scroll up and down and no garbled characters appear.
Note that the horizontal scroll bar produces garbled characters as well.

- getting the latest device drive for your graphics card
- using java 6
- specifying -J-Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false as a command line argument for sqldeveloper.
- specifying -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true as a command line argument for sqldeveloper.
You can also add vm options to you sqldeveloper.conf file using the "AddVMOptions -D..." directive -
Menu bar not working? icons broken/flashing in and out
My menu bar icons aren't working... airport showing disconnected, all are unselectable. not able to change volume...

"Save link as" in Right-click Context menu is not working properly.
Firefox 17: In a Google search, when I right click on a .pdf link, the popup window automatically gives a "url" filename and "Firefox Document" as filetype. Previously, the filename would be whatever it was on the website (ie. "filename.pdf") and the filetype would be "Adobe Acrobat Document".
I know this problem has less to do with Firefox and more to do with JavaScript, because the problem disappears if you disable JavaScript (Tools -- Options -- Content -- uncheck "Enable JavaScript"). What's happening is that JavaScript is somehow altering the link from a purely .pdf link to something else -- perhaps encasing the link inside a set of commands, and the computer is trying to save the command string instead of recognizing the link for what it is. When JavaScript is disabled in Google searches, the highlighted "[PDF]" link no longer appears in front of the link itself, and the "Save link as" function on the right-click works properly.
Any JavaScript junkies want to try their hand at creating a workaround? One that ensures that the reference created by the right-click context menu matches exactly what the filename is for the website?The problem is that Google has an onmousedown attribute added to the links that modify a link if you click or right-click a result link to make the link point to a safe browsing check on the Google server.<br />
You can see that if you hover a link and you will notice that after you have (right) click a link the the URL changes to www.google.com/url?xxxxx.
You can use this bookmarklet to remove the onmousedown attributes.

FCP7 space bar not working properly...
Hello everybody...
I am having a litlle trouble that lately is becoming a real pain. For some reason when I turn on my mac and start FCP, the space bar when pressed does not work anymore as the "play" button...So I have to close the program, reboot the computer... Sometimes even 3 or 4 times until it works...
Is there a solution for that? Please help......

Volume in menu bar not working
I can adjust the volume by opening the sound preferences, but not in the menu bar or the keyboard buttons. I've tried deselecting "Show volume in menu bar" and reselecting, but it didn't make any change.
One thing I just realized after I plugged in my BT headphones is that my computer seemed to reset itself to HDMI speakers or something for the output. I think this is because I have two monitors. So check in your volume preferences to make sure it has built-in selected or if you're like me, my bluetooth device.

Places drop-down menu bar not working
I recently imported my iPhoto library to Aperture. All my geotags are intact as far as I can tell. All seems to be working well with the exception of the drop-down menu bar at the top of Places. It tells me the number of countries, states/provinces, cities, and places, but when I click on any of them, no drop-down happens. The only thing that works is clicking on the home button. Any advice??

Mavericks USB Installation Menu Bar Not Working
When trying to install Mavericks via USB drive on my 2011 Mac Mini (it worked perfectly fine on my 2009 Mini) I am unable to use the menu bar with my mouse -- none of the drop-down menues will open. My goal is to open terminal, but am unable to do so using the mouse cursor. The mouse will select items that are i the OS X Utilities window, such as Restore From Time Machine, Install OS X, Get Help Online, and Disk Utility.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to open terminal in the installer?Looks like this is a bug when installing using dual monitors: it will display the menu bar on one monitor, but it requires you to click on the corresponding area of the other monitor to get the menu to open up.
