Menu bar shortcuts?
I want to add some shortcuts to DW CS6 top menu bar such as "save" or "undo". How do I do that?

Top menu bar has pretty much everything you need.
File > Save | SaveAs | Save All
Edit > Undo | Redo
Or as Jon said, use keyboard shortcuts:

Hi,
I want to assign something from the Bluetooth menu bar icon to a shortcut.
When you click it, you are given a list of devices towards the bottom. When you hover on one it says Connect to Network. So the shortcut I guess would be something like this:
Bluetooth — iPhone — Connect to Network
But I'm not sure how I create this in the standard System Preference Shortcuts. Is it possible?
Thanks!When making a shortcut, you don't need the full path. Just the command you want to assign a shortcut to (ie Connect to Network). However, I don't think you can assign a shortcut for Status Menu items. I've never succeeded.

Yes, Bridge shortcut has been removed from PS CS5. However, you can go to File->Browse in Bridge option to open the file in Br CS6.

Photoshop Elements 2: Top Of Picture Disappears Under Shortcuts Menu Bar.
I know it's not an eMac problem but I thought this would be the best place to ask!
At one time whenever I opened a photo in PSE2 the top edge of the photo's window was neatly aligned with the bottom of the Shortcuts Menu Bar.
Now whenever I open a picture the top of the picture's window disappears under the menu. If it doesn't disappear the moment it is opened, it does if I try to enlarge it.
This means I cannot move the picture around the monitor or close the picture with the red button at the top.
The only cure I have found is to remove the Shortcuts Menu bar, which is rather inconvenient!
I have fiddled around with the preferences and also turned the "Resize Windows To Fit" setting on and off to no avail.
This never used to happen - so has anyone got a solution?

After a day of intermittent head-banging I have solved it.
The Shortcuts Bar should always be ABOVE the Options Bar.
Although I have used Photoshop a lot, I can go for weeks without looking at it.
Somehow the positions of the Shortcut and Options bars had been switched and I hadn't noticed.
I don't know how because I didn't even realise they could be moved and nobody else uses my computer!
Anyway, now the Shortcuts Bar is on top everything is back to normal.
Hope this is of some help should it happen to anyone else.

Thank you!Ctrl+F2 is the default to move focus to the Apple icon in the menu bar. Then press the initial letter of the desired menu or use arrow keys.
If the system is set up so that the function keys act as media control keys then the fn key (above delete key) must be depressed to bypass the special features printed on the function keys. You can invert that behaviour in System Preferences for Keyboard to make the function keys easier to use.
You can change the shortcut for menu focus in the System Preferences for Keyboard Shortcuts. For example, change from Ctrl+F2 to just F2. -
In the Menu Bar, under File, then Open File, how do I change the selections?
I have Firefox 11.0 and Windows 5.1 (2007). In Firefox, I click on FILE in the Menu Bar, then OPEN FILE (Ctrl+O), and I see a small box; it says Look in: Mozilla Firefox. Below is a selection of files within the folder Mozilla Firefox. To the left is a column of four other folders: Downloads, My Computer, John, Lori. The last two are obviously two of the folders I've created on my computer, using Windows. But I don't know how they got here! I have no recollection of customizing this particular Firefox menu option by adding those folders, nor can I figure out what to do in order to further customize it. Can anyone tell me: (1) how can I change the original "Look in" option so that it opens with something other than "Mozilla Firefox" (which, after all, I never need to access)? (2) how can I add/delete/change the choices offered in the column on the left, so that different folders are listed? (Currently, if I want to access my Windows folders/files, I first have to minimize the Firefox screen; this seems to me a nice shortcut, but I'd like it to include shortcuts to the folders I use the most, which does not include "Mozilla Firefox"!) (3) Is this actually a Firefox feature, or is it a Windows feature? It does look like Windows (Windows style, Windows folders), but it appears only in the Firefox Menu Bar, along with Bookmarks, Tools, etc. Thanks!
This sounds like a Windows thing ( You can post a photo and I can tell you for certain). Those folders are Windows system created folders that your computer has had since it was installed, all Firefox does is use the Windows File picker, which is what you see when you open that window. So, to customize you'd have to do that from Windows Explorer (not Firefox).
The Window should however remember what folder you were in last. -
Java windows slip under menu bar, how to move?
Hi, I have accidently dragged some Java windows beneath the (transparent) menu bar.
Safari browser windows do not slip under the menu bar, but those created by a Java application can slide beneath it, up to the edge of the screen...just far enough to make accessing their title bars impossible. I'm able to resize the Java windows by dragging their accessible edges but I am unable to click on their title bars in order to drag them back down beneath the menu bar.
How can I click upon title bars or resize these windows to lower them in desktop space, so their title bars are lower than the menu bar? I am currently unable to drag or click upon their obscured title bars to move these windows. Is there another way to move windows without clicking upon their title bars?

SPRY menu bar not working in IE 9
Hey! I recently just finished building my very first website using Dreamweaver CS5.5! It looks really great and works perfectly in firefox and safari however the SPRY menu bar does not work in IE 8 or 9. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this without messing up how the website looks in firefox and safari?

File, edit, view, history, etc. will NOT open on menu bar how to fix
The file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help options on the menu bar will not open. This started to happen, intermittently, in the last few hours . . . and, now, seems permanent. I suspect an update. There are, also, other options which will not open. I cannot use my address book on webmail because of this and am in dire need of a solution.

All of a sudden my firefox webpage now opens in the whole window and I am not able to see any menu bars in the top or the "start" icon in the bottom of the screen

Menu bar and Dock disappear after exiting Time Machine
Time Machine has worked absolutely fine for almost a week. A few hours ago I clicked the icon on my dock to see how many incremental backups it had made today, and everything seemed fine. However, when I click cancel now and the desktop comes back, the dock completely disappears. The menu bar is about halfway to being functional: The shadow appears, but it does not lighten my desktop picture behind it anymore. All the menus are gone, except for those for Bluetooth, AirPort, the clock, etc. I can still open Finder windows by double-clicking the folders on my desktop, but most -- if not all -- keyboard shortcuts are rendered inoperable. They mostly just produce the default error sound, and control-F2 simply highlights a very small invisible box in the top-left corner of the screen. I can also no longer open any applications, and any applications I already had open I can't select.
The only way out was to force a shutdown, but if I try to use Time Machine in the Finder this problem keeps recurring. (It works perfectly in iPhoto.) Also, now if I try to back up Time Machine hangs while "Preparing". I have spent the last hour trying whatever I could think of and also wailing like a child. Please help!Just a thought....this is not a problem with my MacBook on which I installed a new version of 10.5.
The problem only manifests itself on my iMac at work which I updated using a Drop-in Leopard DVD.
Do you think this could be the problem? Anyone out there having problems that did a retail 10.5 install?
I just re-installed Leopard from the drop-in DVD and first time I opened Mail and went to Time Machine it seemed to be working....it gave me the starry background and asked me to select items to restore to the Inbox. But then it failed to restore the selected messages and I'm back to where I started with a non-working Time Machine in Mail. -
Click twice on the menu bar to access dropdown menus?
I recently upgraded to CS5 and have noticed that in order to access the menu items I have to click twice on "File", "Edit", etc to see the drop-down menus.Once I am in the menu bar area I have to continue to click once on each menu heading to see the drop down. (so if I am looking at the "File" menu and want to change to "Type" I have to click on Type to see the menu options.
If I leave the menu dropdown and go back to the artboard the menubar stays selected. I have to hit Escape twice to begin to use keyboard shortcuts.
This happens in Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I am on a Windows PC running XP. I'll be upgraded to Windows 7 and a PC with a 64 bit processor in April. I wondered if maybe my mouse was the problem - I am waiting for IT to bring me another one to test my theory on. I am not having problems in any other software though so it's probably a long shot.
I can't change my workspace in InDesign and Illustrator either. When I click on "Essentials" the button looks pushed in but no drop down menu appears. Photoshop doesn't have drop down workspace selection so it isn't a problem there.
This is one of those things that is annoying but not earth-shattering. It interferes with my muscle memory and slows me down because it forces me to use my mouse more than I want to. I thought it was a new thing in CS5 until I realized it isn't normal. I searched the forums for a while and haven't found anyone else with a similar problem.
Anyway, if anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

I used the VIEW tab at the top left to change my View to "Full Screen".
Now I cannot access the VIEW tab to change it back. How do I change it back so that that Menu will show at the top of my screen??Some choices:

The keyboard shortcuts for all of the options still work, but will not let me select anything with the mouse. The Apple key seems also not to allow selection of anything on the Menu Bar.
I can browse normally when this happens; it's not freezing or crashing. And I am able to click everything on the right side of the Menu Bar; the clock, wireless icon, battery, etc. Also, other programs running at the same time don't have this problem. A restart of Firefox seems to temporarily fix the problem, but it's happened a few times, with no clear pattern as to what is causing it.
Anyone else having this problem? Solutions?I fixed this, in a fairly brutal way. Here is the solution.
Save your bookmarks, like on the desktop. Or you could launch Safari and import your Firefox bookmarks into Safari, then later pull them back into Firefox.
COMPLETELY delete everything that has to do with Firefox. That includes not only the application, any dmg file hanging around and most importantly the ENTIRE contents of User/Library/ApplicationSupport/Firefox. Indeed just throw the whole Firefox folder in the Trash. Empty the Trash just in case. Now use Safari to download a new Firefox.dmg file and start from scratch. You will have to re-establish your Preferences. But Firefox will not hang, and most importantly, it will not hang your OS. --Gene
