Menu button jumps to wrong submenu

Hi, I'd consider myself an advanced DVDSP user, I've used my own problem solving on this one and was hoping it is a known program glitch...anyone seen it before?
My main menu has four buttons linking to sub menus. When one of those buttons is selected it will play the video transition properly but then jump to a menu that has the background of a different menu, but the buttons are all screwed up. The buttons jump to various places throughout the DVD with no rhme or reason.
After my problem solving didn't turn anything up, I crossed it off as a freak incident and rebuilt the menu...which solved the problem. But then the same thing happened to another menu.
One noticible detail...everything works great in the inspector, the problem only occurs upon building it and viewing the video_TS folder in DVD Player or from the burned disc on a standard player.
Any thoughts?
I've got to finish this up and record to DLT...I'm a little nervous about getting back the pressed discs with some random problem that didn't show up elsewhere.
Thanks!

You still don't have an answer?? Give us a chance! This is a voluntary group you know - all users of the software just like you. Between your first post in this thread and the second is less than half an hour.
To answer your impatient question, the menu button is supposed to go from menu to track and from track to menu. It doesn't jump about randomly at all, it simply moves from one domain to the other. If yours is jumping randomly then you really need to examine that bit and sort out why first of all.
If you really want to disable the remote control menu button whilst in a menu, have a look in the user operations of the property inspector in the advanced tab. You can disable menu calls there. Mind you, it will make your disc somewhat unusual and go against a few established conventions... better to teach your viewers how to use the navigation than to simply disable it for them.

  • Muse page content "jumps" when using menu button

    I Created a simple portfolio website in Adobe Muse. Two pages (projects and contact) and for both using the same underlaying stramien page (don't know the English word for that). I added a menu widget to navigate between the two pages. Works fine, but whenever I use the menu button the page content (text and/or pictures) make a little vertical jump before they are in their right position. Obviously this little "jump" is not like it is supposed to be. The website is not yet published or online, cause it's not finished yet, but the problem occurs when I preview what I've made so far.
    What could be the cause of this problem and how can I repair it ??

    are you using Chrome?
    try loading my page, www.stacystechpubs.com using Chrome.
    Then you see a bar of menu items across the page (home, who am I, terms,...) try clicking on one, then the next one, then the next one. You'll see the box 'Stacy's Tech Publications' jumps when you click on a link.
    If you still aren't sure what I mean I need to take a screen capture video and upload it.

  • Won't open homepage on open, won't open web pages from the menu 'open new window', Can't open menu button

    Ok, since update to version 31.0, I have been having some problems.
    I have tried doing everything stated in the support page about resetting, reinstalling, safe mode, restarting pc etc.
    First problem, when I open Firefox no web page loads. It just says New Tab and a blank white page. If I press the home button I am taken to my homepage which is google.
    Second problem, when I right click on a link and the menu pops up, if I click open in new window, a new window opens but it just says New Tab with a blank page and no URL information, just blank.
    Third problem, the Open Menu button just doesn't work at all. You can click all you like, that thing is not opening.
    I am really stuck as to what to do. I have only been using Firefox for about a month and t was good until these problems. If I can't resolve it, I will have to use another browser as it is really annoying.
    I am using Windows 8.1 by the way and have scanned my computer thouroughly for both virus's and malware.

    Hi zenithtwc, to test whether this is a settings issue, could you do a three-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
    A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
    ''Don't delete anything here.'' Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
    Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like Test731, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Can it reach the internet?
    When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Spry Menu Bar jumps off screen-right in CS6

    Frustrating little glitch I'm experiencing.  When in a NON-LIVE mode in CS6, I have a Spry Menu Bar that I've placed, customized and is functioning properly.  It is precisely in the right location in BOTH live mode and in a browser preview, however, when I am editing the site the menu bar jumps off screen right to where I have to scroll right to locate it.  The only thing that pops it back in to place is by tweaking a setting like "Float" from right to left then back to right.  But once I begin to edit the site again it will jump off the screen.  This isn't a massive deal since it remains in place in live and preview modes, it's just annoying for layout purposes while I'm editing.  It sort of screws up the aesthetic of the layout.  Has anyone found the same problem?  Below is my layout.css and my Spry Menu css.

    Hi, I was using my iPod Touch and then all of a sudden, the screen went black. So I held the on/off button and menu button to reboot it. So it turned off then back on but it has been stuck on the loading page for an hour. What's wrong with it?

  • Acrobat exit, dependent on menu button used

    I have a javascript folder based process for allowing  a person to step thru a list of pdf files performing an action on each file.
    A menu button is used which executes a function to sign and close the current file and open the next file in the list.
    When I execute this function from a menuitem (in a submenu under Tools as the parent) everything is fine and the files can be processed and stepped thru.
    However users have asked for this command to be more accessible by placing it on the Acrobat toolbar.
    So I used the app.addToolButton() to put the command in the addon toolbar. It executes exactly the same function and correctly signs and closes the current file, and opens the next file.
    Windows displays a Data Execution Prevention windows.
    Then Acrobat generates the error window message (as below) and Acrobat exits.
    "Adobe Acrobat 8.2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. etc"
    The windows event application log shows an entry
    Faulting application Acrobat.exe, version 8.2.5.241, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x656c6946.
    Category (100) or None, Event ID 1000 or 1001.
    Does anyone know how to resolve this.
    Assistance is appreciated.

    Button code that fails is as below - in config.js (now trys to execute the Tools menu function that works "SIGN");
    exec = app.trustedFunction(
    function(filename)
      app.beginPriv();
    console.println("\nDST:Batchsign_exec - calling SIGN");
      app.execMenuItem("SIGN");
      app.endPriv();
    // script = "Function - DST_batchsign_addSignButton";
    app.beginPriv();
    console.println("\nDST:Batchsign_addSignButton");
    global.version_DST_batchsign_addSignButton = "1.0";
    var oButObjsign =  {cName: "SIGN_ONCE ",
    cExec: "exec();",
    cLabel: "[SIGN //label on button
    cTooltext: "Digitally sign next signature field",
    nPos: 1,
    try
      app.addToolButton(oButObjsign);
    catch(e)
    console.println(e) ;
    app.endPriv();

  • How do I make a "Title Menu Button" that is an Arrow?

    I am using DVD 08 with iMovie 06.
    I set my chapters using iMovie 06. When I shared with iDVD 08 everything looked OK.
    I normally do six scenes however this time I wanted eight. In the past when using iDVD 08 (or iDVD 06) there is always a blue arrow in the scene selection menu that when selected would take you back to the main menu.
    For some reason I do not have the Blue arrow. I was able to create a new "Title Menu Button" but none of the options I can find is the default blue arrow.
    If iDVD defaults to the blue arrow in this location why can't I find it as one of the many choices iDVD gives for a Title Menu Button?

    Hello, Ziatron,
    I use the same, iM6 with iDVD 8.
    I am not sure I follow you. You mean that you make 6 or 8 chapter markers for this movie?
    What theme are you using? If you use a theme that places 6 scenes on a submenu, iDVD will automatically create a second submenu with the remaining 2 scenes. Each submenu has 2 arrows to allow you to go back to the previous menu, or to the next submenu, except the last submenu which has only 1 arrow to go back to the previous menu.
    If you want all 8 scenes on the first submenu, you can go to the submenu with the last 2 scenes and select them, then 'Copy' then go back to the first submenu and 'Paste' them. You may have to reposition the scene titles to accomodate the new ones. Be sure to go back once again to the submenu and delete the copied scenes. When you do that, go back to the previous submenu where all 8 scenes are, and you will see that the forward arrow to the last submenu is no longer present, since there are no longer any scenes to be in a separate submenu.
    I have made over 100 movies, each with many scenes, but I don't have any submenus that show an arrow to return to the main menu, unless there is only one submenu.
    If you want to add an entire submenu....say of extra photos/videos/etc. you can use the + button on the lower left of the iDVD screen to add. A folder will appear on the menu to which you have added the submenu, and when you open the folder, you will see the new submenu, with its return arrow.
    You can change the folder icon to just a title using the 'Buttons' tab, but you cannot create navigation arrows yourself.

    I built and formatted a project using DVDSP 3.0.2. Menus were created in DVDSP. The main menu and scene selection menus look correct on all software players and most set top players I tested. However, on some set top players, including a Sony I tried, the text on the main menu buttons is not visible and the music that loops (.ac3) on the main menu does not play. On a scene selection menu I created, the buttons have the wrong text and font on every button -- but again, only when playing on some players. The tracks play ok on all players.
    I burned using DVDSP. I tried buring on -R, +R, and +RW. Same results with all. I tried burning using three different burners. Same results with all. I burned using a PowerBook G4 with 10.3.9 and a PowerMac G5 with 10.4.3. Again, no difference.
    I had this problem a year ago when using DVDSP 2. But haven't had the problem with DVDSP 3.
    If anyone else has seen this menu text problem, I'd be delighted to know what might solve this before I ship this to the replicator.
    Thanks,
    Gary

    I remember this problem cropping up from time to time. I am not sure, but I thought the solution was that your project has an extra language defined. See if, when you view your project in Outline mode, you have two languages... like English and English-1. If so, delete the English-1.

  • Web Dynpro ABAP ALV menu button icon image

    Hi
    Does anybody know how to add or link an image or an icon to a menu button in a
    Web Dynpro ABAP ALV view?

  • Menu buttons live on stage

    I am no longer able to edit the menu buttons on my stage.
    If I click on the buttons layer tab all buttons are
    selected, but if I then try to select an individual button it just
    takes me to the corrosponding page and will not select.
    Please assist
    Thanks

    Hmm... this is very strange.
    If they are all placed in one layer, try rightclicking them
    when they are marked, and choose disribute to layers.
    If u grouped them, try ungrouping...
    If none of these things works, I really don't know what could
    be wrong.
    U can try posting ur .fla, and I'll see if I can help!

  • Navigation won't work on  menu buttons

    Hi
    I created a menu with apple template-light index in DVDSP 2.05 and added (dragged) motion assets (each chapters video clip) to the buttons. I used overlay colors=advanced and mapping type=grayscale for the norma-selected-activated states of the buttons. My problem is the navigation arrows won't work to cycle thru the menu buttons (chapters) when I use simulator. i checked the assignments & everything seems ok..even used autoassign now, no luck. When I created another menu with apple template-light index with no assets dragged to the buttons, the navigation arrows worked fine in simulator. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I figured out the problem, so all is good.

  • Still Frame vs Video Loop Menu Button Issues

    Hello,
    I have a home video of a wedding I am trying to burn to a DVD using iDVD. I have 7 chapter markers in the movie and I would like to use still clips from the video as the icons in the chapter menu buttons. However, once I select "still image", I can no longer scroll through the entire movie to select the image I want. Instead, it only gives me the first 1 minute 37 seconds of the clip. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Nevermind, I have figured it out.

  • Rollover Menu buttons with audio

    I am trying to create a menu with Rollover Graphics for the highlights. So I have the buttons autoactivate to a duplicate menu with a different graphic button.
    (ex. Main menu button one color - auto activates to Main Menu button one black and white - hit enter - jump to track)
    I know it can be done with layered menus also.
    But here is the problem...
    I need an audio bed looping through the menu navigation, the problem with the duplicate menus is that the audio starts over everytime I go to a new button highlight. Is there really no way to have audio on a layered menu? Or is there a workaround to having audio without it restarting everytime I go to a new button (which is technically a new menu).
    Thanks

    As Ryan said - this is a limit of the spec.
    When you use a layer based menu in DVDSP you are actually creating a different menu for each layer in the file. This is pretty much the same as using auto-activating buttons and going from menu to menu...
    If you are playing a menu then the DVD player's laser is in a particular location on the disc. If you go to a different menu then the laser has to move to the new location. As it moves it cannot then be reading audio from a different location, so it is impossible to play continuous audio. You might well have noticed that no DVD you have ever played has been able to give you continuous audio across different menus for exactly this reason.

  • Remote Control Menu Button

    Starting from the top, I have a 1st play title menu (A) with 4 buttons that are targeted to 4 other menus (B) – each of which, have multiple motion buttons leading to individual clips (C).
    I would like to be able to click on the Remote Control Menu button anywhere within the DVD and have it return to the 1st play title menu (A). In the Disc Inspector, I have set the “Remote Control” pull down menu to the 1st play title menu (A).
    I can achieve what I want by clicking on the Remote Control “Title” button but not the “Menu” button. What am I missing?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sorry - I made an assumption that you were not able to go fro a track to the title menu... what you are asking is to go from a menu to the title menu by using the ;menu' key.
    Sadly, it won't be possible - the Menu key is designed to move only between tracks and menus. If you are in a track it will take you to a menu, once there, pressing it again willr eturn you to the track.
    You need to use the 'return' key to traverse through the menus, but it isn't a robust implementation in DVDSP.
    Therefore, the only way to accomplish what you want is to use the Title key on the remote control when in a menu... unless you add a button to each sub menu that jumps to the title menu.
