Menu Buttons Freeze
This is only for when the DVD player recalls where it last left off on a DVD.
When I put a DVD in the player a second time, the menu is playing that it last left off, but the buttons are frozen. One of them is in a white selected state, even though that color does not exist in any of the selected states, only black, red and yellow. Thanks for any input you may have.

That's not the most current version . . . but in this case, you are in a better place than running the most recent UB version.

I think you must build a very simple/basic project (don't use any asstes from the problematic one!), burn it in same conditions and test in the players.
Then you'll know if the poblem is in just this project or in ANY project you burn.

Frequently when I use Firefox it will all of a sudden freeze. It no longer will accept any user input from the keyboard or mouse. I cannot click on any of the open tabbed pages I have or on my bookmarks or any of the menu buttons. Nothing works. When it happens if it is loading a page it will just freeze in the middle of loading it. I've tried to see if the freezes are caused when it loads certain types of content (java, flash, etc...) but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when it happens or with what types of pages. I cannot find a pattern. The ONLY button that works is the close button in the upper right hand corner (X). I can click on that and then Firefox will prompt me with it's regular message asking me if I want to save and quit, quit, or cancel. I'll hit save and quit and then reopen Firefox. It opens my tabs and if I was in the middle of a post it generally will still remember the text I've typed (except Facebook!).
It's beginning to drive me nuts and I'm really hoping to find a fix to this.You will also notice that your shift key will be emulated. Meaning that keys you will try to press will press but they will act like you are pressing the shift key when you are doing them.
Try this, minimize the firefox window by pressing the tab on your taskbar. After doing that maximize it again. You will magically be able to click any link on your page. When you navigate to a new page however, the entire situation will start all over. My only remedy is rebooting and hoping it doesn't happen again soon. -
Hello, my name is Ed. I'm with all my Ipod, I have (4) they all keep freezing up on me when I play my devices. But my Ipod Touch I don't have this problem. On my classic I'll hold down menu botton on the wheel. But thing happen, I'm tired of letting battery go dead and recharge it, just to freeze up again. I made it work one time by holding down the menu button. That's about it. I need help.

PS I don't know operation system on my ipod classic, but on my mac book pro i am using (11.0.2) my mac os x (10.6.8). So, I try to take a quess at my os my classicHolding down the center/select button and the menu button will reboot your ipod. See if that helps. Also, I'd recommend something else- I had nothing but trouble with my ipod classic until I spent $20 to get Mac OS Mountain Lion. It did what you said and sometimes wouldnt play, or wouldnt power on...
Try rebooting your ipod and let me know what happens and maybe in the future obtain Mountain Lion to aide your ipod in functionality.

We're on our honeymoon and been taking good pictures without any problems with Canon S110 until yesterday. The camera suddenly has the following problems:
1. turn on normally but then immediately taking one photo no matter what mode it's on.
2. once the single photo was taken, the camera completely freeze except the display button working and the delete button (working but not be able to select delete)
3. shutter button and zoom in or out is completely useless
3. MENU button is NOT working at all
We have been trying the following:
- new fully charged batterry
- new SD card
- turn off and remove both battery and SD card overnight
It's very frustrated and we only have this camera on this trip. Please help!!!Just registered to report my solution.
I have a similar problem with the PowerShot S110 of my wife's sister.
At some time a menu button and all joystick buttons stop working.
The problem was because of sticking zoom control (yeah it's very stupid).
At the normal state zoom control must return to central position!
When zoom control is on the left or right position - some buttons don't work.
I hope this info will be usefull to someone. -
All of a sudden the menu button stopped working. It was fine one day then I put the ipod on charge, several days later when I tried to use it again the Menu button no longer works...
Actually I just realized that the Play/Pause button doesnt work correctly either. When you push and hold it it does not turn the device off anymore although it would still pause/play the songs. The forward/reverse work ok.
I tried resetting the Ipod using the updater and that didnt help. I also tried Menu + Select ... strangely enough it resets the device but after it resets the Menu key doesnt work.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
I submitted a service request. Is there any way of modifying the service request since I just realized that the play/pause button is screwed up also?
Finally, when you turn the hold on/off is that supposed to turn the backlight on/off as well? I never paid attention to it but now when I turn hold on that also turns the backlight on...is that screwed up as well?I am having a similar problem with my mini - it turns on fine and will scroll through the menus, but will not respond by going back through the menus. Instead, it freezes on a screen and does not respond to anything except resetting it (menu & select button). Doesn't seem like the proper way to navigate through the screens and is completely frustrating. I was ready to cry yesterday at the gym because it wouldn't work and didn't know the reset "trick" until 3 hours later! I have also had many problems turning it off too. My brother who owns a regular iPod thinks I am crazy but at least I am seeing people out there with similar problems.
On another note, I have to say I am completely disappointed with Apple. The company loves to portray this user-friendly persona, but in truth it is not that way at all. I received my mini in May and have just started to use it full force this month (October) ... now my 30-day phone support has expired and if I want "live" help I have to pay $50 for extended service. That's bull - I'd like some real answers but have been relegated to chat boards (no offense) and trying to troubleshoot the problem myself by finding close but not exact postings. It seems like such a deceptive bait & switch ploy by Apple. I am tempted to send my mini back for service but just read on the web site that I could be charged up to $100 for service. Again, sounds very sneaky so not sure if I should take the risk or live with a highly annoying product defect. Any suggestions? -
The top right menu bar freezes, the time reamins frozen and when the mouse is put over it the spinning ball comes on and nothing responds on the menu bar. Shutting down or restart stops at the clear screen and I need to use my power button to shut down and restart?
Any one able to help me?Try opening Activity Monitor from your Utilities folder, make sure all processes are being displayed, and then look for the SystemUIServer server and see if there is a note in red that it is not responding. If so click on it to select, then click the red Quit button at the top of the window and click Force Quit when the dialog box comes up.
If this is the problem you are having problem interactions between SystemUIServer, Spotlight and some other menu bar extra. Remove all menu bar extras (you can hold down the command key, then click and drag off the menu bar). Add back items one at a time until you find the one that is a problem. If you are using StuffIt Deluxe with a menulet, that is ALWAYS a problem. There are others as well (the Classic menulet does mine in).

Please help! my menu button stopped working =
i just bought an imove speaker for my ipod mini and everything was going great until i disconnected my ipod from it...now my menu button doesnt work! its stuck on shuffle songs and i cant reach my playlists or any other features anymore....essentially it has become an ipod shuffle...please please plaese help...why isn't my menu button functioning anymore? thanks so much for any help!!

Sky F1 button freezing - New season same problem
Hello All I have been coming here every year since Sky picked up F1 and have problems every year with the red button freezing the box when I try to use it on F1 during race day etc. Normally it usually happens towards the end of the season especially when they are in USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi - it ALWAYS works perfectly fine on practices and qualifiying, but the problems always occurs on race day. Every year the community staff say they have never heard of this problem before.....sigh. You will find many threads on this each year with promises that Sky will fix it and the season ends with us being promised it will be fixed for the new season. Last year I was advised by one regular contributor that Graeme personally was ensuring it would be fixed for this season and to have faith.....sigh....yet I am back here again. What is very frustrating, its now started at Australia - I have never had this issue before at this early a stage. The red button has worked completely fine all weekend on the practices and qualifying until it came to the race. I press the red button and it sits on blue screen for a while, then eventually gets to the black screen with Sky Sports F1 logo and a white outlined box in top left hand corner..........and that is it. If I press 1 I get to the main screen but subsequent pressings of red button or back up button does not take you to the red button menu, but ends up giving you the blue screen. If you try to back out of the whole red button thing, you get continued blue screen but if you are very lucky you may still get sound. Sometimes you can get a picture back by going to the Sky EPG and selecting a different channel that brings back the picture, then return to 407, or it will freeze altogether and you spend the next 20 mins having to do the usual plug out, plug in, wait 2 mins, start box up. I have done a Sky rebuild only as I dont want to spend the whole race messing around with software updates etc and that took 20 mins with no improvement whatsover. I also have cleared out any programmes in my Deleted programme section but I do that everyday anyway.. Through the years of threads, some are saying the software on my box cant handle the sky red button, but this is the box you gave me when I signed up for the HD & sky f1. If this is so, why are you providing hardware that is not fit for purpose? And now you seem to have got rid of Race control on the website I cannot see it online either, even though it it did used to be about half a minute between what was going on live. I got so excited when there was a software update a few weeks ago as I thought Sky were really keeping to their word and eventually fixing their F1 red button.....never mind...... Mmmm I signed up for F1 through the HD pack. After reading other stories on this site as to how people have lost their F1 through Sky offers with little to no smallprint advising of the potential loss, then alleged underhand tactics by the phone customer service team, I did wonder whether the zero acknowledgement to this issue was the latest way to try and enforce a move over to the Sports package.For me that would be pointless as there is no way I can afford the Sports package - also I have absolutely no interest in football, cricket nor golf - I just love my F1. But, to be fair and to counter that, I have had this issue since F1 commenced with Sky in 2012 - a straight 4 years of issues that I had phoned, emailed and raised threads on this forum about. The Sky team previously stated any problem was just down to me and wanted me to fork out for an engineer. I refused this, as the engineer would never find anything unless they were willing to visit during the Sunday race in USA, Brazil or Abu Dhabi........and now Australia. Since this thread has commenced, in addition to rscott (Super user) providing input and confirming same issues, Annie (Sky Mod) has also acknowledged Sky are aware and working on the issues, through private email. I am so grateful to them both for providing a link and updates between the customer and the technicians. Now we have this first real acknowledgement of the problem, I am praying that they will seriously work on getting it fixed, because I would be hugely disappointed if after 4 years and the many threads that both myself, Pete and others have opened and had subsequently locked and quickly archived, they are still unable to resolve it. By the way I had the same issues as Pete that as I became frustrated at the lack of assistance in previous years, that as well as the thread being locked, I found I couldnt access the community even though I could access other areas of my Sky account.I would be on a complete loop returning to the log in page and sometimes would even see the page saying it was diverting elsewhere and making out as if the Community site was down. Yet 2 minutes later under a new username with a new email address and sometimes using private browsing mode, I could log in easily, so I would question whether some people were "banned" from the site. Anyway, now there is this some progress,....onwards and upwards I say.......and lots of crossed fingers. :-)

I have a custom menu button. When the user clicks I want to show TOC, ( I see there is a state to show TOC) but when the user clicks the same menu button again on that slide how can I hide the TOC. ie toggle between hide and show.

When I use my ipod touch and am trying to leave an app, my ipod wont wont leave unless i keep pressing the menu button. This happens alot during snapchat and my friends ask me why I screenshot so much. And I dont screenshot at all. Why is my ipod doing this? Can it be fixed?

The last few times I have been prompted to update my firefox for desktop, my browser has not looked any different even though I get notification to say updates completed successfully. When I update firefox gives a demo of new features and how my browser should look, mine has not looked like the demo for the past few updates. It's annoying because I really like the look of having just one menu button. How can I change the look of my browser?

Ok, since update to version 31.0, I have been having some problems.
I have tried doing everything stated in the support page about resetting, reinstalling, safe mode, restarting pc etc.
First problem, when I open Firefox no web page loads. It just says New Tab and a blank white page. If I press the home button I am taken to my homepage which is google.
Second problem, when I right click on a link and the menu pops up, if I click open in new window, a new window opens but it just says New Tab with a blank page and no URL information, just blank.
Third problem, the Open Menu button just doesn't work at all. You can click all you like, that thing is not opening.
I am really stuck as to what to do. I have only been using Firefox for about a month and t was good until these problems. If I can't resolve it, I will have to use another browser as it is really annoying.

General Error or Crash using menu button on chapter playlists
This is my first complex project in 2.0 - I needed to have approx 120 clips playable individually from a series of still menus. Given the 99 timeline limit, I created a number of timelines and placed batches of clips on them. I'm then using individual chapter playlists to reference each clip. The chapter playlist is linked from a menu button.
When using the menu remote button when a chapter playlist is playing, I either get an 'abnormal condition' error, or occasionally, Encore crashes with no message at all. Tried this with no menus, timelines and playlists open but same errors.
More detail:
PAL 16:9 project
28 timelines
65 chapter playlists
15 still menus
approx 120 mpv clips and associated wavs (mpv encoded with cinemacraft encoder sp)
Settings for one of the clips giving problems:
Timeline - end action not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted, no chapter end actions
Chapter playlist - end action - return to last menu, override not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted.
I think I can stop the errors and crashes if I disable the menu remote button - but I don't really want to do this.
Any ideas what's going on? Is it a bug(S)?

The trouble I had was the "Abnormal Condition" error when hitting the menu remote button in preview.
There was no problem with Prev/Next buttons though.
I tried burning a disc too, just to check if it would burn true & just played up in preview - but no dice. What happened was the player froze up solid after pressing the menu remote.
I did create another project where the chapter playlists numbered around 28 from a single timeline, and this actually worked as it should do, so I suspect an issue in Encore's internal stacks where this is all addressed.
I had to use a different application in the end.
I believe the reason yours is still failing is simply because despite having 5 timelines, you are still well over the number of chapter playlists that seem to be available.
It's a nasty bug - but apparently a fix is in the works. Hopefully we will see this as a maintenance release - we got these with both earlier versions (1.01 from 1.0, and 1.5.1 from 1.5) so I am hoping it will happen.
There are a couple of issues I have noticed - although this is so far the only one I cannot work around in my projects.
One thing has just occurred to me that might help you here.
Instead iof using a chapter playlist to reference each clip, save these for multiple clips that need to be accessed, and from your chapter menu, just point directly to the clip in question.
Set an end action for each clip to revert back to the menu that called it, and create just a single chapter playlist for a "Play All" situation.
This will greatly reduce the number of chapter playlists you are running - and should do the job for you. -
Command is not showing in to the list on pressing menu button on the device

I have developed a midlet in which I have designed buttons or links using Custom Items. Command associated with the custom item is not showing in to the list on pressing menu button on the device 8300 Curve.
For example - My login screen have SUBMIT and RESET custom items. I have designed them to be appear like links [no matter how I design them]. I have also added a command and listener to it like as below:

On running the midlet, my login screen appears. But when I travarse to the SUBMIT item, and press the menu button, my command doesnt appear in the list of commands. It shows only the Close command. I am not getting why this is happening.
Please do me a favour and help me to sort out this. On other phones like 8520 curve the command is appearing in to the list when I press the menu button.
RegardsIs there any way to sort out this issue? I am not getting the cause
behind this, and I am observing this only on 8300 Curve. On most of
there phones [though not tested on every one] it is working as expected.
