Menu buttons text disappear randomly

Randomly when viewing my project in iDvd the text on buttons disappear, but the button remains so i can still click on it. Any one with any ideas what causes this or how to fix it please let me know thanks.

Is it possible to have that PDF for a test, or at least a part of it?
Interactive PDFs may not work correctly in the Reader just due to its settings regarding interactivity.

  • Menu button text disappears only on some players

    I built and formatted a project using DVDSP 3.0.2. Menus were created in DVDSP. The main menu and scene selection menus look correct on all software players and most set top players I tested. However, on some set top players, including a Sony I tried, the text on the main menu buttons is not visible and the music that loops (.ac3) on the main menu does not play. On a scene selection menu I created, the buttons have the wrong text and font on every button -- but again, only when playing on some players. The tracks play ok on all players.
    I burned using DVDSP. I tried buring on -R, +R, and +RW. Same results with all. I tried burning using three different burners. Same results with all. I burned using a PowerBook G4 with 10.3.9 and a PowerMac G5 with 10.4.3. Again, no difference.
    I had this problem a year ago when using DVDSP 2. But haven't had the problem with DVDSP 3.
    If anyone else has seen this menu text problem, I'd be delighted to know what might solve this before I ship this to the replicator.
    Thanks,
    Gary

    I remember this problem cropping up from time to time. I am not sure, but I thought the solution was that your project has an extra language defined. See if, when you view your project in Outline mode, you have two languages... like English and English-1. If so, delete the English-1.

  • My Firefox menu button has disappeared. Why? How can I get it back? Without it I don't know how to get to my FTP.

    My Firefox menu button has disappeared. Why? How can I get it back? Without it I don't know how to get to my FTP. I never did anything to make this happen.

    Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
    Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.

  • I double clicked on something and now the Firefox Menu button has disappeared. How do I retrieve it?

    I have been looking for information on how to save passwords. After I clicked on the Menu button, I double-clicked on an item in the list. Now the Menu button is gone. The name of the tab is at the top and under it the File, Edit... bar. I tried reloading Firefox hoping that the default setting would reappear. It did not.

    Go to '''View''' then '''Toolbars''' and ''UNcheck'' '''Menu Bar''' [].
    thank you

  • Menu Widget: Text disappears when previewed in browser ?

    Hi All,
    I've created a site and have a top level page, with a sub-page.
    The site uses the Menu widget in Muse to create a menu with dropdowns for the sub-pages. However, when I preview the site in the browser, the state on the menu for the top-level page 'Normal and 'Active' functions disspears.
    It does re-appear on rollover, so the browser knows it's there, but it isn't being displayed.
    Any idea why?
    And how I can fix this?
    (Ive attached screenshots of the page within Muse and then the same page once previewed within the browser)
    As always, soloutions and replies most apprieciated!
    Browser preview
    Browser preview on rollover function
    Cheers!
    Robbie.

    Hi Robsta,
    Looking at your 1st posted image, above, I would say (recommend) that the 2nd blue guide, from the top (the header guide), should be moved down and put just below your menu ... do this on the 'master page' ... thats the header guide line ... everything 'below' that line is page content (a menu is not page content) hence content changes throughout your website ... everything 'above' that line is your header information and stays in the same place regardless which page you are on and is shown on ALL pages ...
    Now, if that doesn't fix the problem (the blue guide that needs moving, should be moved nevertheless) ... is it possible that some of the 'active' states in your menu have got messed up when you were changing your button colours? ... this would only happen if you were editing the menu with the 'Edit Together', 'unticked' ... I can see that the active state is set to grey already hence just asking ... also, sometimes if the 'header' guide is not where it should be, it does hide things below it as it doesn't know what should be shown or not ...so it's just a thought ... ...
    cheers,

    I've tried increasing the depth of the top area where the menu titles are - it didn't make any difference. It works in all other browsers.

  • Menu buttons difficulty

    Some of my menu button text is rather long, and it does not fit within the button parameters. How can I adjust the button area?
    I go to the Layers tab, select the Highlight layer of the button and I can change its bounding box, but I am unable to change the text layer`s bounding box dimensions, so that my text will fit in its entirety. How would I do that?
    Thanks in advance

    Christine,
    Yes, sometimes the Button Text does get unwieldy and requires a lot of extra work to get it to fit, especially if one has several Buttons on the Menu.
    Since I use Photoshop for the creation of my Menus, I'll step you through a couple of things to try there.
    1.) In PS, you can easily alter the font size of the Text, and can create line-breaks, as are needed. The downside of smaller fonts is readibility on the TV screen. Use carefully.
    2.) Obviously, spacing the Buttons from one another is a possibility, but this will depend on the amount of Text and the real estate that you have available. Same for shortening your Text.* You can also have fewer Buttons per Menu and more Menus.
    3.) The "Text" does not have to appear in the Button Layer Set. Instead, it can appear on a Text Layer, outside of the Button structure. This allows one to have smaller Buttons (only the true Button Layer Set is really a Button). The downside of this is that the user, on a computer, might become a bit confused, when the mouse over this Text, and nothing activates. The "real" Button will, of course, but this Text is not part of the Button with this scheme. If one is doing the DVD for TV, then the user will be utilizing the remote control, so it's not a problem. Now, the "real" Button's Highlight will have to be something other than the Text, because it is no longer part of the Button. You can Highlight the thumbnail, or have a "check mark," or similar, appear, but now the Text is only part of the
    i Background,
    or a graphic Layer above it, but no longer part of the Button structure.
    Personally, I'd take a good, long and careful look at #1 (check readibility), and then move on to #3. You might have to alter your graphic concept a bit, but this method will free up a lot of real estate. If designing for computer use of the Menu, make it easy for the user to find the Button, so they don't waste time clicking on the Text, which is not interactive.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

    Could you please let me know how to edit the appearance of "Edit Menu" button? Do i have to edit the source code?

  • Radio button names disappear in Fields menu

    I'm having this very odd experience in which the names of radio buttons I've created and grouped randomly disappear in the Fields menu.
    That probably doesn't describe it too well, so here's what I'm seeing:
    Notice how there's a gap between "Choice1" and "Choice3"? It should read "Choice2". If you look at the form itself, there are clearly five radio buttons.
    The 'invisible' buttons in the menu disappear randomly once I create more buttons. Sometimes it's "Choice2", sometimes it's "Choice5".
    Any thoughts/suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I had the same problem; hopefully my solution will be of help to anyone searching this problem via a search engine.

    Individual radio buttons cannot be named (only the overal exclusion group can be named) or else rawValues will not export.

  • Text disappears on buttons in InDesign cs6

    I'm doing an interactive pdf from InDesign CS6. I have buttons that I've created using just a solid rectangle and reversed white text in the rectangle and the buttons are on my master page. I want my buttons to change to a different colour when you click or mouse over them (only text to change to a different colour). When I go to 'click state' or 'rollover state' (I've tried both), the button is copied and I can change the colour but then in my normal state, I have an overset text, (I get a red plus sign) my text disappears. When I try and correct my normal state, the same thing happens in my click or rollover state. When I export a file to an interactive pdf, my normal state button is without text and my over or click state button has text with the colour that I've selected. Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    NZ

    We might be able to help you but you'll have to drop the attitude. We're not Adobe here, but users like you.
    You'll need to tell us exactly what you're doing and what's not working for you. By "rollovers," you could mean the change of appearance of a button. You could also be meaning what are sometimes called Show/Hide buttons where clicking a button causes another button to appear. Which is it?
    And what kind of output are you attempting? Interactive PDF? SWF (Flash)? DPS?

  • How To Make Text Disappear When Mouse is On a Button?

    Hello,  I'm completely new to Flash and well I need some help. I created a page that has static text in the center.
    The page has buttons on side and when I rollover a button text appears, but the problem is that when I rollover a button, the static text in the center is there and I want to hide it as I can't read anything because the texts are overlapped.
    How do I make the text in the center disappear/hide when I rollover a button and how do I make it reappear when the the mouse is off the button?
    I hope what I am explaining makes sense.

    You can assign onRollOver and onRollOut code to the buttons to make the text dispappear, but you'll need to make the text a movieclip with an instance name that you can use to target it to turn it invisible.  In the simple example below, the button has an instance name of "btn" and the text movieclip has an instance name of "text_mc"
    btn.onRollOver = function(){
          text_mc._visible = false;
    btn.onRollOut = function(){
          text_mc._visible = true;

  • Dynamic text disappears when clicking bold button.

    Dear friends,
    I have dynamic text inside a movieclip, that I can make it rotate.
    the dynamic text properties are : anti-alias for anmations and I emdedded all characters.
    When I click on the bold button the the text disappears.
    bold_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.Click, on_bold);
    function on_bold(e:MouseEvent):void
         var my_format:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
         my_format.bold = true;
         my_mc.my_txt.setTextFormat(my_format);
    How can I solve this problem.

    the easiest (and not very elegant way) is to add textfields that contain those fonts (and embed them).  you can remove your textfields from the display list or otherwise, make them not visible on-stage.

  • TextArea and TextInput on mobile device the text disappears and works fine on desktop

    I'm developing a mobile app with a view that contains 1 Text Area, 1 Text Input and a group of 3 buttons. The app runs well in Desktop mode ( Run & Debug ), but when run in an android device ( Sony Tablet S) when the view is loaded,  the text (text property set at design or runtime)  "flashes" and disappear, if I change the device orientation of the tablet (phisically) the text draws correctly and don't disappear, even if you return to the original orientation. Also, if I pop-up a message (SkinnablePopUpContainer) in the same view, the text appears, and when I close the pop-up the text disappears again.
    Is this an identified bug ? ... is there a workaround ? ... I tried to set visible property to false and true and sometimes it works and sometimes not at random.
    Thank you for you help.

    UPDATE : if I set Focus=true the text appears. I think that the text should be there even if I don't set focus.
    This simple code when run in the device (Sony Tablet S) doesn't work as expected ... ( the text in the textbox dissapears, and if you change orientation appeears).

  • Command is not showing in to the list on pressing menu button on the device

    Hi Everyone,
    I have developed a midlet in which I have designed buttons or links using Custom Items. Command associated with the custom item is not showing in to the list on pressing menu button on the device 8300 Curve.
    For example - My login screen have SUBMIT and RESET custom items. I have designed them to be appear like links [no matter how I design them]. I have also added a command and listener to it like as below:
    CMD_SUBMIT = new Command(text, Command.ITEM, 1);
    setDefaultCommand(CMD_SUBMIT);
    setItemCommandListener(this);
    On running the midlet, my login screen appears. But when I travarse to the SUBMIT item, and press the menu button, my command doesnt appear in the list of commands. It shows only the Close command. I am not getting why this is happening.
    Please do me a favour and help me to sort out this. On other phones like 8520 curve the command is appearing in to the list when I press the menu button.
    Regards

    Is there any way to sort out this issue? I am not getting the cause
    behind this, and I am observing this only on 8300 Curve. On most of
    there phones [though not tested on every one] it is working as expected.
    Please guide me to proceed further. I am desperately waiting for the
    response. Regards.
