Menu in second master-page

I made a dublicate of the master-page and used it on just one of the pages. But the links on the menu don't work form that page when it is uploaded. Is there something I need to do to get it to work or is it a bug in the program?

It should work fine in this arrangement. Does it work fine if you preview the site in browser from Muse, or if you publish it to Business Catalyst? If it doesn't, then there may be something (some content or it's frame) overlapping the menu in that master page or the page which the master is applied to. Please go to the duplicate master page and the page where it is applied, and select all to check if that is the case. If the issue persists, please provide us with the URL to the page where this happens, and we'll investigate.

any help on this is really appreciated. this is the situation. There are two master pages. I have created a flow content subform. And within this, i have created a position content subform. Within this, i have the different fields of an item level table. There are a total of 14 records. three pages are used. And all the three are the first master page. The second master page is not being used. I have tried many ways, but could not suceed. Could any one out there suggest a way to solve this problem?

I'm facing a problem here. Within my print form I have one master page.
Basically I have a dynamic table which must be followed by a standard text.
So I've created a subform (flow content), in it I have another subform (flow content, table): in it one subform (flow content, table row) and a subform (position content with my text).
Although all the 'allow page breaks' are checked, the issue I have is that the second page is never printed...

Dynamic Master Page. Hide second master page if items don't overflow on it.

I have a custom PO form which requires an extra header on the first page but not on the subsequent pages. I created a master page on which the items can overflow.
The issue is that the second master page shows irregardless of whether the items overflow or not.
Is there a way to hide that second master page?

The items are grouped by an attribute and each have subtotals, so it is rather difficult to predict when page will overflow.

I do have an awkward structure as I couldn't get my deep tables to show as I wanted so I converted the top header of the items into a header.
Here is how it looks like at the moment.

I need to hide the second header on followup pages.
I tried several things:
- dynamically re-size content area for followup pages (using only PAGE1). Not possible
- create a second page, PAGE2 with my desired headers (Page_Header_1, Page_Header_3). Hard to predict at runtime when overflow will occur
- I can move the data from Page_Header_3 to the body if I can make it show at the top of every page. Working on this at the moment. Easiest, but I can't get it to work

Why Is The Menu On The Master Page BELOW The Objects In Other Pages?

I added a menu on the master page using the Composition widget called featured news and it stays behind the other objects on normal pages.
How do I fix this? Here are the pictures of the menu when it's closed and when it's open.

Make a new layer, which is by default placed above all other layers.

Second master page displays as a blank page

Hi,
just wondering if there is a work around for the following scenario:
I have two different master pages (1 & 2) that are used to create two different page standards. I have two body pages (A & B ). Page A is placed on master page 1 and Page B is place on master page 2.
Depending on the type of data that comes into the form, I have two possible scenarios that will be rendered. For one user, I want to display and print body page A & B. For a second user, I want to display only body page A.
The problem arises when, for the second user, I hide body page B, however, an unwanted blank page appears on the form. This is a result of having two master pages, and not having subforms present on one of the master pages.
So, is there a way to render a form that has a master page with no subforms so that I don't see this extra page.
OR, a way to determine if a page is blank so that I can avoid printing it.

I found an example that stops a subform from rendering if there is no data. See: Program Files\Adobe\Designer\EN\Samples\E-Ticket
However, all of my subforms have data, it is just that some is not relevant to some people.
I just found a solution that works ok. I set the relevant property to "-print" for the appropriate subForm.

Click event on sub page menu makes my master page menu go away..???

I've populated a menu using xml retrieved from a stored procedure and all is working great, except when I select an item from the sub menu and call a click event and it makes my main menu on my site.master go away and shifts the current aspx page up.

Can I add more than one menu to a master page?

I have been struggling with this and can't find any tutorials. I am trying to add another menu to a separate page that only shows up on one group of pages. The problem I am having is the menu titles from the one that is already up comes on and I can't figure out how to get multiple menus on one page. Is there anyone that can help? I have created a menu from scratch using some different methods, but I would like to be able to not have to do that. Thanks!

Hi Carlton,
The automated Menu in Muse picks up all the pages that have show in the Menu option enabled. So, if you want a menu that only shows a group of pages, you will need to use a manual menu in Muse, you will not be able to use the automated one.

Second menu for B-Master pages

I have a horizontal menu at the top of my website in the A-Master. One of the items in the main menu, "Our Company" uses the B-Master and has several pages under it, also using the B-Master. I would like a completely separate vertical menu on the side of the website showing all the pages, linked under the "Our Company" page that are using the B-Master. I don't want this as a dropdown menu from the main menu. I want it to be its own menu, always showing, separate from the main menu. How do I go about doing this, short of creating a manual menu? I don't want to have to go into the menu and manually update it every time a new page is added. I want it to be automatic, just like the main menu is. Can this be done?

No this cannot be done. The sub menu would have to be manual. But if it is on a master it really isn't a big deal to add a new link.

How to delete a submenu menu item from a master page?

I am having trouble deleting a submenu item from a menu on a master page. I'm not sure where or how it was created, but simply selecting it and trying to delete it, is not working...

Sub-menus are generated by your site structure. Either delete the page or disable it from menus with the contextual menu. If it's not a page, make a temporary change to the site structure and then change it back to force Muse to refresh, it might be a glitch.

Repeat Text Field Value on Master page

This might be a really simple question. I have a form with two master pages. The second is applied to all but the first page. On the second master page I have a text field that I populate with user entered data from a text field. I want this value to show on all pages after the first page (page 2 to n). It shows up with the value on page 2, but all the rest have a blank value. Do I need to script something to make it repeat for all pages? Any help would be appreciated.

The simpliest method would be:
Under the Object tab, select Binding, and change the Default Binding to Global. The TextFields you create must have the same name, and Global binding will populate all the fields.

Echoing entered field in master pages/headers

I'm creating a form that needs to have some data entered on the first page (a patient name) which then gets echoed to all of the subsequent pages on the form in case the pages get separated.
I have two master pages: one for the first page, with the company logo, and one for subsequent pages, which has the same logo but also includes a read-only field for the redisplay of the patient name. The patient name is entered on the first page, and a script that runs on change populates the read-only field in the second master page with the value of the entered field.
The second and following pages use the "subsequent page" master page.
All of that works, but the odd thing is that the value of the field only displays on the FIRST iteration of the subsequent page. In other words, the value entered on page 1 displays correctly on page 2, but on pages 3 and forward it doesn't show. The field is there, but it's empty.
I assumed that setting a read-only field's data within a master page / header would cause it to display on all pages that use that master page, but it seems to only get displayed on the first such page.
How do I make the field entered/filled out on the first page echo on all subsequent pages, in the header?

The reason why the 1st one is the only one filled is that each field has a unique name .....soyou woudl have to determine how many pages you have and write a for loop to place th eentered value into each of the fields (the page number is part of the Expression that is used to make the field unique). You can see the unique expression by adding the javascript comand app.alert(this.somExpression) in the enter event. Now each time you enter the field it will display the somExpression and you can see the difference in the field name (it will be a page occurance number).
OR......
If you set the binding to global then all fields that have the same name will get the same value.

Can I combine 2 forms with different master pages?

I have two forms that need to be in one PDF together, but have different master pages. The forms are flowed, so the master pages are necessary to keeping the header and footer content in place. Is there any way to combine two forms?

Hi guys, I figured out a kinda fudged answer.
You can make as many master pages as you need, the problem is getting them to appear on the correct pages. I couldn't get the flowing first page to be as long as it needs, then start using the second master page for the next section. If anyone knows how to do that, I still need to know.
How I fudged this was I put the entire form on the master page in a table to position it correctly and keep it flowed. Then I set the master page to a minimum occurance of 1. - There you go. Not the right answer, but it works.

Master page unnecessarily repeated in adobe forms.

The scenario i m trying to develop is to have data and an image field on the first page followed by only data on the next page.For this i have created two master pages and two body pages.The first master page has got an image field attached and 4 content areas.The second master page has got only 4 content areas.The pagination of the bodypages is done as described below :
bodypage1--placed on master page 1,after : go to next content area ,if dataset must be paginated :goto next master page
bodypage2--placed on master page 2,after : go to next content area
The problem i am facing is result is displyed like :
data on page like master page1 (required)
empty page like masterpage1 (NOT REQD)
rest data on pages like masterpage2(reqd)
THIS EMPTY PAGE IS A PROBLEM.Can anyone tell where i m going wrong?

Hello,
For this you need not create a master page, body page...complete design your whole layout in design view of default page...and dont change the settings of pagination tab... I think that should work.
