Menu item icon not updating

Hi,
I have an action into which I set an Icon:
action.putValue(Action.SMALL_ICON, icon1);
now I set this action into my menu item and show the item in a menu. The item displays correctly and the icon is visible.
later in the program i do:
action.putValue(Action.SMALL_ICON, icon2);
then I open the menu but the menu item still shows icon1 until I roll over it with the cursor when it finally changes to icon2.
Any ideas on how to make this update immediate?
BTW at the point of changing the icon, I don't have access to the menu item or the frame etc, just the action.

Anyone got any more ideas?Maybe you have a programming problem, but we can't see your code so we don't know for sure.

JNLP related-content issue in JRE 7u5 Sub Menu Item link not working

we are having an issue with our existing Web Start Application in Java Version 7 Update 2 and above where the Sub Menu items are not being associated with Internet Explorer with href link as Target when using <related-content> tag in JNLP. This is working fine in JRE 1.6, JRE 1.7.0 and 1.7.1. I have tried using Integration Service to programatically create these shortcuts in JRE 1.7.5 but was unsuccessful.

I haven't filed this as a bug in Java development yet but am going to do so soon, In the mean time i was hoping to see if anyone else is on the same boat as me and if there was a work around.

"Hyperion" menu item does not appear in Excel after SmartView Installation

Hi to all! When I first installed SmartView, everything was ok - "Hyperion" menu item appeared in Excel and I successfully established connection to Planning and worked with data in Excel. Then, once upon a time I happened to select all data through Ctrl+A in the data form open in Excel and tried to copy it to another worksheet in the same workbook, Excel threw out a message about some serious error and informed me that the Hyperion Add-on would be removed. So it was removed in fact. When I was reinstalling Smart-View, all the installation went smoothly but the "Hyperion" menu item did not appear in Excel again. I tried to reinstall both Excel and SmartView and rebooted the system several times but the Hyperion menu item still does not appear in Excel. Can anyone hint me on how to solve this? Windows and icons are black, menu items are not showing correctly

Hello!
Well just doing my normal routine today browsing the Internet, watching videos on vlc, my computer suddenly started to glitch. Icons were disappearing, Safari turned black.
So i did a restart but the problem is still there. I cant even choose the user properly because the avatars are not there it's just all dark gray. Remembering where my user avatar is, i do a click and type in my password and I do and able to get in to my system but all windows menu items and icons are black.
Basically what I'm saying is the system seems to be working fine except for that I can't see the icons and windows properly displayed.
I've already tried to reinstall of Mavericks hoping that it's a software thing. You guys think it's a problem with the graphic processor?
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated thank you.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
You can then quit Terminal.
To prevent confusion, I'll repeat: When you type your password in the Terminal window, you won't see what you're typing.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, set one before taking Step 2. If that’s not possible, skip the step.
Important: If any personal information, such as your name or email address, appears in the output of these commands, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.

CS Live Icon not updating due to Adobe Story

This is terribly annoying. The icon in Photoshop will not update, even though I have already signed in and used Adobe Story, despite it being completely useless to me in my line of work. What do I have to do to get it to recognize I have seen the service and unflag? Or is it possible to remove items from that list or something?

I think you are talking about the 'blue start icon' that is appearing infront of the 'adobe story' link.
If that's the case than it's a bug which is persent in CS5 and has been fixed in 'soon to be released update'
for now there is a workaround:
       1) close photoshop and kill 'cs5servicemanager' process from activity monitor
       2) now delete the cache folder (location of cache folder shown below, click to enlarge)
    3) start photoshop and verify

"Send link..." context menu item does not launch the mail client

This was working in Firefox 12 but with the latest update to Firefox 13.x no mail client is launched (mine is Thunderbird) when context menu item "Send link..." is clicked.

I changed the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto setting in about:config to the default value (true) and that seemed to fix it.
I don't know what changed it before though.

Menu items are not highlighted after Design Studio Client 1.3 upgrade

if this is what you see after start, it it is possible that you face a general issue on Java Runtime level (which version do you have installed)? or on memory allocation level.
do you see any log file located in your workspace? search for *.log. can be that there are some basic exceptions.
also, I do not know if this is upgrade or fresh install.. you can try to uninstall, delete the content of the folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Design Studio\... and then install from scratch again. could be that the upgrade went wrong.

Menu toolbar icons not displayed in colour when deployed on the Web

We are developing an application using Forms6i on Windows NT.
Our problem is that menu toolbar icons are not displayed in colour when the application is deployed on the Web using lookAndFeel = generic. This is the case both when using Microsoft IE5 and Netscape 4.5. When lookAndFeel = oracle, however, the icons are displayed in colour.
The icons are stored as *.gif files in the same directory as the application *.html file. It does not help to create a virtual path /web_icons/ in the www listener and edit the parameter default.icons.iconpath in the file Registry.dat.
When running the application as client/server, the menu toolbar icons are displayed in colour as expected.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

But did you try to printout the form anyway? I guess you will see the icons on the printout, won't you?

Asset Line items are not updating in table ANEP

Hi friends,
I found that asset line items are not getting updated in ANEP table,.
This is my precedure for posting of depreciation.
I'll create Asset through AS01, then i'll use the T.Code: F-90.. then i'll run the depreciation program thru t.Code: AFAB.
In but i am unable to capture the values of Planned and Depreciated or Posted values in ANEP.. Is there is any other table for this...
Where is the mistake in my process..

The FI-AA documents are stored in tables ANEK (document header), ANEP (document line items) and ANEA (proportional values). You can use FI-AA standard report RABEWG_ALV01 to list all transactions to an asset in one fiscal year, and report RAABGA_ALV01 to list only retirement postings.
ANEA should be the solution you are looking for.

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and it does NOT look like it is supposed to look - My menu items are not in a single button, etc... as displayed in Step 2 of getting to know your browser on the welcome page for Mozilla Firefox 4. Can anyone help?

All in all, my Firefox 4 is not what it should be... does anyone know why this might be and how I should go about fixing it? thanks :)

To get the new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

Line Item Text not updated in SPL

When we change the Line Item Text in FI document the same has not been updated in SPL. Can anyone know the required configuration to be done in order to populate the changed items in SPL.

HI,
a text change in general ledger line item will not be forwarded to spec. ledger automatically (as the change of a line item text triggers no posting to spec. ledger).
But as you know the document relationship from GL doc. to SL doc go to the corresponding SL doc. and change the text if this is really needed (don't understand why the line item text is that important).

Automatic Product Selection item value not updated in S067

Hello,
We have a requirement for Automatic product selection based on ATP with pricing at item level. This is working fine.
But the value of the subitem is not updated in open delivery value S067 after saving the delivery.
The item category is marked as credit active. update group is 15.
If i do main item pricing then the value is getting updated successfully.
I check several notes but nothing helped.

Desktop item info not updating

I searched but could not find a previous issue about this:
The item info underneath my mounted drives on my desktop does not update.
For example my boot HD says 161.7 MB free underneath, while if I command-i, it says the correct free space as 2.7gb.
I read in a similar issue that the .DS_store is slow to update, and I assume this maybe the problem?
Is there a way (such as apple script) to force this to update frequently?

FrameMaker update book icon not updating and custom formatting help

I am fairly new to FrameMaker, and I am currently experiencing two issues:
First Issue
I am currently trying to create a book that currently has three chapters. I am trying to break it out into the following format:
Main TOC - includes all the headers and related pages for the entire book
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File A
Chapter Source File A - includes all related content to Chapter Source File A
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File B
Chapter Source File B - includes all related content to Chapter Source File B
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File C
Chapter Source File C - includes all related content to Chapter Source File C
Whenever I click the Update Book icon, however, it does not update the headers and page numbers. They still remain the same way when I first generated them. This occurs for both the main TOC and mini TOC.
Second Issue
In addition to the format structure I designed for my book, I also wanted to create a custom format look that remains constant whenever I update my TOC. I have tried testing this, but I noticed every time I generate a new TOC it is always in the unformatted FrameMaker style which you have reformat each time.
Is there a way to create a custom format look that can retain the design and simply update the TOC headers and page numbers each time it needs to be updated?

First I'd highly recommend getting Matt Sullivan's Publishing Fundamentals: Unstructured FM11 book - it's a pretty complete reference one to have on FM.
Second, it sounds like you may not have your ToC reference pages set up correctly - if nothing changes when you've added content that should have created more ToC headings and shift pages around, then something is amiss. Your formatting problem is solved by doing a bit of a dodge - you create a ToC and generate it, then replace it with your formatted .fm doc keeping the exact name as the generated doc; then update again. Now the content is formatted the way you want and keeps being updated each time you update.
