Menu only recognizes the first chapter - others default to it...

Hello all,
I am using the wedding-looking theme where boxes that hold images slide in from the right and simulated snow/flakes fall. Project is from FCE and pressing any chapter on either menu plays the movie from the firs chapter not where it should play from. It only recognizes the first chapter not the others.
I have never seen this one before - a new feature of iDVD
Any suggestions ?

No, but it is a bug. If you make ANY edits to your movie, no matter how small, after putting it into your iDVD project, iDVD will not play the chapters properly. You cannot determine this beforehand. iDVD appears to recognize that you have made edits and will give you a message that 'assets have changed' and will ask if yo want to update. Of course, you opt for that, and all appears fine until you either preview the movie in iDVD or burn it to a disk and see that the chapters do not play correctly.
The usual problem is just what you describe: the chapter(scene) selections default to the same one, usually the one closest to your edit, but not always. This problem occurs in a movie with chapters; I think it is not a problem in a movie without chapters. Additionally, I have made an edit in one of the last clips of my movie, and that has been made without the chapter problem.
There is no 'fix' for this problem/bug. You must start over and create a new iDVD project. Then, be certain that your movie is completely edited. Once you put it in iDVD, do NOT make any changes to it at all. It should burn fine this time.

Drag each quicktime into that screen and arrange in the order you want. You can then delete the stills. The button that appeared when you dropped in the stills will launch a complete show.

When i have a web page which includes an SVG file that spans 2-3 pages, if i try to print the web page it only prints the first page.

Basically, i have an html file that embeds a large SVG file. When i try to print the html file, FF only recognizes the first page - basically the second, third, fourth pages do not appear. Is this a known issue with FF?
Can it be fixed?
FYI - Google Chrome allows you to print the other pages but unfortunately headers/footers cannot be controlled and thus overwrite some of the SVG content.

How can I utilize text variable in my book which only uses data merge on the first chapter?

Hey ladies and gents, I'm trying to automate a process here and running into trouble. I have the first chapter of a book with several data merge fields (legal documents etc), and want the later chapters to pick up from what I have already merged via text variables or SOMETHING. From what I've tried, the options available to me are limited and buggy.
Using the running header with character styles almost worked, but it removes all visual tracking in text around it (I assume this is a bug) and it only works for the first/last instance of the style. I need something that will fill in all instances.
Here is an example of what I'm doing. In the ch1 document of my book I data merge the Name, Age and Occupation of a person. In chapter two I want to have a variable that takes the name that was merged in ch1. Any ideas? Doesn't seem possible!

I need some solution that references live text, specifically different fields that have been data merged. This solution needs to work between documents, so your cross-reference suggestion was in the right direction. If I data merge 'Plan Name' from a CSV file into my first document and mark it with something (character style, paragraph style, text anchor etc), I want to have places in my other documents that pull that exact text from the first.
If document 1 says 'the plan is XXXX', document 2 will copy that name, i.e. 'According to plan XXXX'. Whatever solution this is it's what I'm looking for.

Quit the iBooks app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Anytime I try to print in Firefox a Microsoft KB article that is 1 page, I always only get the first page.

Anytime I print any Microsoft KB article, I only get the first page worth of text. This is very troubling because the articles are typically long, and I only get 1 page. The second page always comes out blank (even though in IE it will print out multiple pages with all the text).
My specific example today is listed in the URL below. This example will only print to the "DIR" command, I don't get the full page printed out.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a resolution? I hate having to hit up IE just to print a single article.
I updated to FF 8.01 just to make sure, and I have tried different printers and even computers, to no avail. Even the print preview has the issue, only the first page worth of text is printed and the second page is always blank (even if there are 3, 4, 5, etc pages of data to be printed).
I have also tried the Firefox Menu -> Print command, and the "on-page" print command. I have seen moderate success with highlighting all the text that I want to print and going to "Print-Selection" but it is ugly.

I am unable to print PDF's using either Adobe Reader or Safari. In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my Cannon printer that says, "/usr.libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed". In Safari, I can only print the first page of a PDF.

To try to resolve this problem, I have done the following actions.
1 - I have run Disk Warrior.
2 - I have repaired permissions.
3 - I have deleted all plist that are either Cannon or Adobe.
4 - I have downloaded and installed the lastest versions of Adobe Reader and the Cannon printer drivers.
I am still unable to print PDF's.
In Safari, I can print only the first page. In a multipage PDF, Safari only seems to recognize the first page.

Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:

Report from SQL Query -Excel format only show the first page

I have some Reports from SQL Query. In the display options, I choose Excel as default format. The Excel documents only show the first page. If I choose HTML as default format, it shows every rows.
Please advise on how to have a complete Excel document as HTML format does.

I beleive when you export Oracle reports to Excel it is the Data that is transferred along with Column Names.
You cannot export the variables defined on the report.
Hence you will not be able to export the Footer to excel. (Still looking into it will let you know if i find anything interesting)

Creating PDFs using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and can only see the first 10 pages in PDF even when the page numbers on bottom state 10 of 13 (or any number greater than 10).

PDFs create great, unless they should be over 10 pages and then it appears the data was converted to PDF by viewing the page numbers at the bottom of the PDF but you can only view the first 10 pages in the pdf file.

Could you please let me know what exact dot version of Acrobat 9 and OS you are using.
Have you tried repairing Acrobat from the Help menu?
Acrobat 9 is an older version and incompatible with new OS versions, so I would suggest you to try using Acrobat XI (latest version) and check for the same.

PDF sent from SAP 4.6C only shows the first 10 pages

Since a few weeks a spoolrequest that is produced by a job contains more than 10 pages. This report is automatically converted to pdf and mailed to an external recipient, but the pdf only contains the first 10 pages.
When I look into this spool request in SAP, I can see all pages.
Does anyone know how to include all pages in the PDF?

hi,
by default only the first 10 pages of spool are being saved (or converted to pdf in another way). you can change this settings. here i'll show you the way :
- goto SP02 or SP01, input suitable parameters
- select your spool request
- press F6 to display the content
- navigate to : goto >> display request >> setting
- from popup window, on "Display Area" section, you can set the page settings for your spool. the default value is only from page 1 to 10, you can set it as you need (in example from page 1 to 100), but beware, setting it too high in some case will cause memory issue.

Chosing "open all in tabs" only opens the first of the bookemarks in the folder.

I have upgraded my computer with a new processor, RAM, MoBo and GPU. I also updated to the latest version of Firefox.
All my bookmarks were transferred over. However there are two main problems. When I select a folder of bookmarks to open and select "open all in tabs" it only opens one tab and then only loads the first bookmark. I tried using a mozbackup to refresh the bookmarks but they still don't open.
However Firefox does open a load of multiple tabs from a previous browsing session. However the number of tabs is wider than my screen. I used to be able to use the scroll wheel on the mouse button to "flow" the bookmarks across the screen but that no longer works.
I have also discovered that I can no longer move tabs along.
All in all FF is stuffed and I am going to have to swap to Opera or another browser as in its current state FF is unusuable.
Please can anyone make any suggestions as to what I can do?
