Menu widget roll-over stopped working with Muse 1.0 in IE 8, works in IE 9

I published a site developed with Muse beta last Friday and everything worked perfectly.
Then Monday morning I got the notice to upgrade to Muse 1.0; which I did.  I made some minor wording changes to text and then republished the site.  (download HTML, published via FTP)
When I checked the site in Preview on a Mac - perfect.
When I checked the Site in Safari on Mac - Perfect
When I checked the site on Chrome in Windows 7 - perfect
When I checked the site in IE 9 on Windows 7 - perfect
When I checked the site in IE 8 on Windows 7 - no roll-over effect to see the sub-menus
All this worked on Friday when I was still using Muse Beta.  did something change regarding IE 8 support in Muse 1.0???  I saw no mention of this if it did.
Thanks in advance.

  • Roll overs- Dont work properly

    Please help, i am creating buttons in Flash. When i
    look at them enabling simple roll-over they work perfectly. When i
    publich in dreamweaver or hit ctl etr in Flash the hit state is
    over to the right and not on the text link it should be. Whats
    wrong?

    Hi pointseven,
    As your images are every 250 ms, you don't need any labels.
    sym.stop() triggers at each label are useless as well : instead of using sym.play() and sym.playReverse() (there is nothing to play ), just use sym.stop(<ms>). You get the current position in the timeline via sym.getPosition().
    Suppose four images at 0, 250, 500 and 750 ms and two buttons named prev and next.
    Stage > compositionReady event handler :
    sym.stop();
    sym.$('prev').hide();
    next > click event handler :
    sym.stop( sym.getPosition() +250);
    sym.$('prev').show(); // just after moving one slide forward, it makes sense moving backward
    if (sym.getPosition() == 750) // last image
      sym.$('next').hide();
    prev > click event handler :
    sym.stop( sym.getPosition() -250);
    sym.$('next').show();
    if (sym.getPosition() == 0)
      sym.$('prev').hide();
    Instead of hiding/showing the buttons, you could set their opacity. A hidden button is not clickable, but a button with reduced opacity is, hence a test at the begining of the click event handlers.
    Stage > compositionReady event handler :
    sym.stop();
    sym.$('prev').css('opacity','0.5');
    next > click event handler :
    if (sym.getPosition() == 750)
      return; // click not processed
    sym.stop( sym.getPosition() +250);
    sym.$('prev').css('opacity','1');
    if (sym.getPosition() == 750)
      sym.$('next').css('opacity','0.5');
    prev > click event handler :
    if (sym.getPosition() == 0)
      return;
    sym.stop( sym.getPosition() -250);
    sym.$('next').css('opacity','1');
    if (sym.getPosition() == 0)
      sym.$('prev').css('opacity','0.5');

  • Dreamweaver menu widget mouse over

    Hi
    I'm trying to get my head around the menu widget in CS3 and thing are progressing ok.
    Things are progressing, but I have two small questions relating to this screenshot: http://www.violetmount.com/August/menu.png
    1. How can I only make the menu appear when I move the mouse over to it?
    2. Is there any way to have the top menu cell transparent?
    The first one is probably the most urgent at the moment! All the examples I've seen have the menu sitting there all the time, whereas I could do with it working like the menu bar in applications.
    Thanks
    Alexis

    Is it the roof or the driver's side window?It's where the 2 meet - it's a t-bar roof
    If is the window, try to determine if the seal
    between the window glass and the door frame is
    somehow messed up- bent, dirty, something that
    prevents a tight seal. You'll need to fix that, if
    that is the cause.There is no door frame!
    Like I always say, you can never have enough
    lubrication. Use some clear silicone spray on the
    window seal. Same with the door-to-frame seal.Ah, interesting. Thanks
    (this is actually the cure for said woes, so you've inadvertently set a dangerous precedent here!)
    If it is the roof itself, you'll have to perform
    similar investigations to determine the source of the
    leak.
    Hope that helps.It has, thanks!

  • Spry widgets js suddenly stopped working

    A Website I designed using Dreamweaver 5.5 and spry tabbed panel widget suddenly stopped working; I have made no updates to this page, and have not made any updates to spry menus, css or widgets. I did add google analytics, but that was over a year ago; this problem just started yesterday. Two pages are in question: http://www.livingthinwithin.net/about.html and http://www.livingthinwithin.net/clients.html. Thank you for any assistance; I have searched various forums and have not found any solution (this is the first time I've not been able to resolve a problem using the question threads of others.  thank you, blake
    ps..this is my first post, and I am so open to learning how to post appropriately.

    Adobe abandoned the Spry framework last year.   If your site, or someone else's site that you linked to, was deriving scripts from Adobe's Spry Labs server, those files are gone.  You can read more about it below.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/08/update-on-adobe-spry-framework-availability.htm l
    If you want to keep using Spry, you must retrieve the scripts from GitHub and upload to your server.  Otherwise, switch to another framework like jQuery.

  • Roll-over not working in Safari

    I've been messing with this problem for over an hour and
    cannot for the life of me find the error. I've tried numerous
    tweaks to try and get it to work.
    If you go to
    http://tinyurl.com/3ab4am in
    the SAFARI browser, the "links" button does not perform its
    roll-over as the other buttons do. It works fine in Firefox
    however.
    Can anyone see what I have done wrong with this link?

    The roll over works fin on the PC for Firefox 2 IE 7 IE6 and
    IE 5.5, however there is a white gap across the page jjust under
    the select box and runs from the left red shadow to the right red
    shadow on all the versions of IE that I listed. I suggest fixing
    that since IE is the most popular browser out there.
    Sorry I could not help with your rollover issue, but I don't
    see the problem

  • 1) Drop Down Menu 2) Roll Over Images & 3)

    Does anyone know away to make these things possible on iWeb (or if it is not even possible)
    1)
    I'd like to have a drop down menu so that my sites are not so cluttered.
    Here is an example:
    http://www.drsteinhealing.com/doctor/chiropractor/2L/Encino/homepage.htm
    2)
    I have seen rollover images in flash, but I hear that it is possible without flash and I think it would be great to have some pictures as such for the menu. I would think this would be possible because right now there is a rollover color change to words that are links if you want it to change colors... so:
    a) is flash possible on iWeb
    b) even if it is not: is there a way to have rollover images and
    c) can there be roll over images that are also links?
    Here is an example:
    http://planetrobyn.com/ (the pictures go from black and white to color and then they are also the menu)
    I'm learning so it would be great to see if these things are possible. Thank you.

    See these menus.The menus are HTML and CSS only.
    http://www.wyodor.net/Demo/iWebeend.html
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/tmf/Duckmenu.html
    The first menu has the menu hardcode in the published webpage.
    Check the source to see how it's done.
    The second menu has a textbox at the top of the page. A JavaScript in the HTML Snippet finds that textbox and place the menu in it.
    This is pasted in the HTML Snippet :
    <script src="../../../duckmenu/duckmenu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu00').className = '';
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu01').className = 'selected';
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu02').className = '';
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu03').className = '';
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu04').className = '';
    elem = parent.document.getElementById('menu05').className = '';
    // -->
    </script>
    This JavaScript places the menu in the textbox :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/duckmenu/duckmenu.js
    The menu at drsteinhealing is HTML/CSS only too. So if you like it, grab the code + stylesheet and use it.

  • Widget close button stopped working?

    i am finding that in the latest version of muse i can no longer create a lightbox or blank composition in the way i used to, with a close button that would remove the superposed element and return you to the page behind. the option to put in a close button is there, but it does nothing when clicked, so that once you have opened a lightbox or composition you cannot close it again.
    has the way to do this changed? it used to work just fine.
    thanks.
    mat

    Hello,
    It seems to work fine for me for Lightbox. Could you please test it creating a new test website and then preview it in a web browser?
    Also, when you say Blank Composition, I assume you are using Lighbox option under widget settings for blank composition as the close button only works for Lightbox functionality.
    Please confirm if it works with new test site or not.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Menu's photoshop buttons not rolling over

    Hello all,
    I have created some layered buttons in photoshop. All is well, they roll over and work lovely in simulator but when I create a build and open it in the Macintosh DVD player the rollovers dont roll!
    What am I doing wrong?
    As always thenks in advance
    Matt

    Repeat after me: DVD is not Flash, DVD is not Flash, DVD is not Flash...
    The majority of DVD players don't have the option of rolling over as the majority of DVD players don't have a mouse attached to them.
    Layered menus use a behind-the-scenes trick to do their work, involving a series of normal menus connected with auto-activating buttons. However, you wouldn't want buttons to auto-activate with a simple rollover in a software DVD player. Therefore, software players require two clicks for layered menus: one to select (which actually just triggers the auto-activating button and hops to the "selected" menu layer), and another to activate.
    Yet another reason not to use layered menus, IMO.

  • Roll over hit button works only sometimes

    OKay, I have a drop down menu. Around the menu I have a button surrounding the outside, so when I roll away from the drop down menu and roll over the outline button, it is coded with action script to make the drop down menu fade away. HOWEVER.....sometimes....when i roll over the button fast it doesnt seem to catch it...Is there anyway to fix this?

    Have you tried increasing the size of the text box? Sometimes with filters, you're actually increasing the size of the font, like you would with bold text etc, try making the text box slightly larger area than currently see if that fixes it.

  • Spry menu dropdown suddenly doesn't work

    I've noticed my spry menu drop down has stopped working in browsers even though I've not touched the site and when I tried to view the structure in Dreamweaver, I found I couldn't select it. Can anyone enlighten me before I try to recreate the menu?

    Sorry for the response, sometimes I get to the stage where I sigh and in a dismayed state say "Not another one" and my reactions become uncontrolled and uncalled for. "They are coming to take me away, ha ha! (Beatles 1960's)" sort of thing.
    Hopefully, the above is sufficient for you to accept the apology.
    Now for you problem. Add
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    </script>
    to immediately above the </body>-tag at the bottom of your document.
    Unrelated to your problem,
    have a look at the 28 calls to images/menu_hme.css, a non existing document
    the link to images/mm_css_menu.js, a non existing document
    the structure of the following
    <td><table width="90%" style="max-width: 1024px;" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
      <tr>
        <td rowspan="5" align="left" valign="top"><img src="images/logosml.jpg" alt="Network Computing Ltd" width="120" height="158" /></td>
        <td align="right" class="NCLbold"><table width="100%" border="0" align="right" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
          <tr>
            <td width="84%" align="right" valign="bottom"><table width="500" border="0" align="right" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
              <tr>
                <td width="553" align="right"><span class="Subhead">IT support services for London, Kent and the South East</span></td>
              </tr>
            </table></td>
            <td width="16%" align="right" valign="middle">01732 522225</td>
            </tr>
        </table></td>
      </tr>
    The quoted markup shows
    an opening <TD> without an opening table structure
    opening <TR>'s without a table structure
    closing </TABLE>'s without opening a table structure
    I did not check the complete document, this I shall leave up to you.

  • Disable updating of the menu widget when working with Muse file?

    First of all thank you Adobe for creating Muse - I really like it a lot!
    My question:
    when I work on my website with 250+ pages, it strains the performance to make even the slightest changes to the page structure. I work with two Masters each with much the same horisontal menu widget.
    Adding, deleting and rearranging pages makes the PC (Windows 7 laptop of some but not awesome power) make a halt and take a deep breathe for some seconds. It really interupts the flow of working.
    A crude work around for this is to removing the menu widget in the two masters and put it into a new master page, containing only the copied menu from the two other masters and keeping the rest of the header in place on the original masters to use for aligning on the pages. This way, only one page has to update when working with adding, deleting and rearranging pages.
    I have tried to look for a preference to disable updating the Menu widget when working on the page structures and just enable it the update again when the work is done? does it exist? else I would recommend it strongly :-) Since my work around is a bit tricky/risky to use after publishing ;-)
    Again, thanks a lot for this nice program. Being a selftought CS (now CCC) user I like the ease of control of the webdesign you can get with Muse (at the dispence of other features of course - if you ever wanted to add some sort of database-lookup feature it would be MUCH appreciated. One workaround is to use iframe and an external search/lookup page, that returns results with links back to parent pages. A bit funny construction though :-) ).

    Glad to know you are enjoying Muse.
    It can be very processor intensive if you have multiple Master pages with their own All Pages menu widget. Take a look at the following threads and refer to Zak's response.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1423767
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6166722
    See if you are able to use just one All Pages menu widget at your site while taking advantage of the hierarchical Master page feature.
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/adobe-muse-hierarchical-master-pages/
    We are aware of the performance issues caused by the Menu widget (All pages type) and is something being looked upon by the engineering in one of the upcoming releases.
    Thanks,

  • Muse 2014 -sub menu items appearing on roll-over etc.

    Hi, complete newbie, so sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere. Only started using Muse about 1 month ago and now using Muse 2014 - using horizontal menu widget and discovered how it now shows sub-menus when hovering over the main menu item- I find this great!
    I want a 'Contact Me' page with a basic form and this is not a problem, however, I want the sub-menus to appear when hovering over the other main menu items, but not the contact me page - might be completely off here, but created a 'Thank you' page as a child page of the contact me page and only want this displayed (not as a sub-menu choice when hovering over the contact me main menu item) when they have clicked the submit button on the form (I know how to set this re-direction in the forms options). Have tried playing with menu on the master page - switching off the edit together and changing settings on only the contact me menu item - without success- seems to apply to all main menu items.
    I would like to know how to achieve sub-menus on other menu items - but not on contact me item;  or whether I am going about trying to have a 'Thank you' response when someone submits the contact me form in the completely wrong way - can this be better achieved by other means?
    I would really appreciate your advice and help. My published site is 'onyerbikegeordie.uk' with the main menus - except not with a contact me page as yet, but would  give you an idea of what I am trying to achieve except for a contact me page.
    Sorry for the long post, but thanks for reading and in anticipation of your help!

    Hi, managed to find the answer to this myself. In Plan, right-click on page and select Menu Options > Exclude Page from Menus. Job Done!

  • On Windows 8, some widgets, such as the menu button near the upper right, stop working after some time, and functionality is restored by rebooting the PC.

    I use the latest releases of Firefox as they become available on a Windows 8 PC. Firefox works properly, usually for a few hours, before annoying problems manifest. The problem I'm addressing here is some widgets, including some Firefox widgets and isolated widgets (such as buttons and pull-down selectors) in some websites stop working. In Firefox, the Menu button (the three stacked dashes icon) stops working. And the Download arrow sometimes stops working also. Sometimes, sub-items such as Print stop working. For some pull-downs, the up and down arrow keys might still work even though I might now be able to select with the mouse. Closing and reopening Firefox usually restores some functionality. However, I usually have to reboot the PC to restore all functions which stopped working. Then I am good for usually a few hours again. Another annoyance, which others have addressed, is the eventual appearance of Chinese-looking characters on the tab labels bar across the top. Restarting Firefox gets rid of these for the time being. Thanks for investigating.

    hello, maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]], or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).
    the oriental characters are a displaying flaw caused by the mcafee site advisor extension - please try to disable or remove that in case you have it present until there is an update by mcafee that can fix the problem.

    is it possible to have a menu with just one button highlight when someone rolls over it? if so how would you do it as i tried doing an invissble button but it didn't work?

    Get yourself a copy of Total Training for Encore DVD 1.5 by Daniel Brown.  This exact scenerio was explained in section 4) Building Menu and
    section 7) Advanced techniques.
    I refer to Dan's video time & time again.  It's from 2004 but he's still right on the mark regarding the generation of every aspect of creating a DVD.
