Menus not encoding right?

In DSP 2.0, the motion backgrounds of my menus suddenly stopped rendering in the menu viewer, when I do simulator, and when I render to disc. Also, when switching between different menus to work on them, it takes forever to switch. I'd say about 5-10 seconds. I've re installed the software once already. Could it be quicktime or pro app support that's messing me up? I'm stumped on this one. Thanks for any help, guys.

I have run the latest updates to anything quite faithfully. I'm hoping that isn't what got me in trouble in the first place. I think it may have started after a quicktime update, but before the pro apps update.

Safari hierarchical menus not working correctly

I'm having a problem with Safari's hierarchical menus not working correctly. They pop out in odd positions, and--worst of all--the big ones (for folders that contain lots of bookmarks) pop out right on top of the main bookmarks menu, making it all but impossible to navigate that main menu. I've tried all the usual tricks: log out/restart the system, restart Safari, reset Safari, boot in safe boot mode, repair permissions, yank Safari's bookmarks prefs file, even reinstall Safari, and nothing worked. I've also noticed the same behavior in Camino. My system hierarchical menus work fine, though, so I'm thinking I have a corrupt prefs file somewhere. I'm using Safari 4.04 with no extra plugins beyond what come with it on 10.5.8. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

AFAIK, the submenu will pop on either side, depending on available space and if there are further subfolders, allowing them to continue in the same direction.
Since the new account doesn't exhibit the issue, there are two ways to attack the problem. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything not on that list into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

Recipients are not encoded correctly

When I set the recipients of a new e-mail with
message.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO, "Stephan Windmüller <[email protected]>");the name is not encoded correctly. The same applies for setFrom, but not to setSubject. According to MimeUtility, manual encoding should not be necessary when using setRecipients.
However, when I am trying to encode the address with MimeUtility.encodeText it also looks garbled. What am I doing wrong?

Encore 2 MOTION MENUs not looping more than 2x

Gidday Neil & techies:
I have created a wedding DVD. Burnt & both original Motion Menus looped forever. Did some alts, re-burnt DVD ... Now, one of the Motion Menus loops 1-2 times, then randomly plays one of the movies.
(Definitely set to 'loop forever'.) I have re-re-rendered the motion menus, etc. etc. Still no luck.

Awesome. I checked out the other thread, and I didn't find the solution directly, but somewhere they mentioned "layers" and I realized how ignorant I was. The background layer was turned on by default, so I couldn't see the video that was playing behind it. I just toggled it off and presto! The menu works.

Not getting right string format from textarea

actually i am not getting right text from textarea
when i type in textarea in language other than english and run it prints text of text area it prints ? marks so i think its problem with textarea?

Please read on about charset encodings carefully.

There are at least 2 points where your code fails:
1) You used FileOutputStream rather than FileWriter to write characters into a text file.
2) You assumed the characters being encoded in the platform's default charset and used [String#getBytes()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#getBytes()] rather than specifying the right charset name or Charset.
This specific problem has completely nothing to do with JSF.

Encore 2.0 motion menus not previewing?

I have been having some trouble with motion menus...I got a copy of Encore 2.0 several years ago and it worked fine then. I recently had a need for it again so I re-installed it and started a project.
My problem is that even with the video transcoded, added to the menu, and the motion menus rendered, it doesn't show up in the preview. I can hear the audio, but it doesn't show the video. After tinkering with this for a little bit I went ahead and burned a disc, thinking that my problem was just a preview issue. The finished disc also doesn't work. You hear the audio and the buttons and timelines work fine, but no motion menus.
I found a discussion on here a while back about changing registry entries (for when Encore gets hung up on importing) and I had a similar issue. I tried that and it worked. I wondered if something similar may be causing the motion menus not to work.
I should mention that I tried re-installing Encore with no such luck.
Any ideas?

Currently not encoding issue

I get the “currently not encoding” in AME when using the queue in Adobe Premiere CC…a brand new issue that just started.

Get rid of legacy character encodings and just use UTF-8 all the way.

Extend studio extensions do not work right in DW CC

I have Flexi Layouts Pro 2 and JQuery Media Pack installed within the latest Adobe Extension Manager CC and I cannot edit them or get them to work properly, it's like some of the menus/dialogs are missing or cannot launch. They are licensed products however, it shows a BUY bar on the top of each application bar as if they are trials. The editing function does not work in any of the JQuery Media Pack apps.

I have re-installed the DW CC software and updated the CC Manager
reinstalled the extension and air components
I have reset licenses
Anyone have a solution or have the same problem?

Seems with CC 2014.1, you must disable (uncheck) "Live View" option. Once I did that, the dialogs worked

I've had my FIOS about 2 months, put new batteries in remote and it is still not working right. Some things work fine. Other things stopped working - can't delete a DVR show, can't change channels with one digit, but it will if I add all 4 digits, info box on bottom of screen never disappears (unless I hit exit). What's wrong?
My second TV set-up is OK.

Might not even be a remote issue. Have you tried rebooting the box?
If you do think it's the remote it's still under warranty.
You can get a free replacement easy within the dvr's menu.
Here is a page that tells you ways to get a replacement.

Get a new remote and if you still have the same issues then you'll know its the dvr that needs to be replaced.

You cannot reinstall iOS without doing a restore. But you might first try a software update. If you have iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1, you can update to iOS 5.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

IPad 2 was updated to latest iOS 7 and has been not working right since. I have tried to do a restore but still continues to go into reboot mode by itself and very erratic. Can no longer trust it. I tried to complain to Apple but have to give them 20 buck

iPad has not worked right since it updated to latest software. Tried to question Apple about it but it costs 20 bucks just to lodge a complaint. Is this normal Apple behavior or am I missing something. Also anyone else having issues with upgrade to iOS7. It was working great until that point and now goes into reboot mode often and sometimes will continuously reboot several times. I have tried to restore but that didn't clear the problem. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.
