Menus templates

I want to make DVD in Encore. I have a true version of Adobe cs6 encore.
I have very few Dvd Menus Templates.
How can I upload more templates?

Very bad resolution in menus (templates)

I have a number of films taken with a camcorder Canon Vixia HF10. The camera settings are set to NTSC with frame rate 60, AVCHD.
In my iMac (OS X vers.10.7.3), I tried first to edit my movies in iMovie, but soon I discovered that iMovie did not properly manage the AVCHD format.
With Adobe's Premiere Elements , I could however handle the AVCHD format in an excellent manner. But when I got to the final stage to create a menu
of my film footage (where I used Premiere's menu templates) the menus were very bad with poor resolutions. I could see this both at "preview" and on DVD.
The actual films were great with a real AVCHD resolution on DVD.
Why does this happen to the menus? Do I need to burn out my movies without menus?

Did you use an HD Menu Set, or and SD Menu Set. As your AVCHD material is HD, you should use only an HD Menu Set.
I also assume that you chose the proper Preset at New Project, to match your footage 100%. Is that correct, or did you choose something else.
For the HD Project from that footage, you should be authoring a BD (Blu-ray Disc) and not a DVD, which is SD, and not HD, like the footage. Did you mean BD, when you typed "DVD?"

DVD Studio Pro not opening recent projects or able to apple menus/templates

Hi,
I am having a serious issue. For some reason DVDSP is not allowing me to open any former projects. I click on the file to open in DVDSP and it tries to load all of the menus and it just stalls. Then I tried to create a new file. Open the app and it looked fine. I was able to import assets, then when I tried to create a menu, I got a progress bar and it once again stalled with trying to apple the template.
I have several projects that I have to finish so......Please Help Me!! :/
Oh yes, I have MBP, 10.4.11, FCP 6.0.5, DVDSP 4.2.1. I'm about to do an update right now. Not sure if it will work though. So I'm guess I need to know if I have to uninstall/delete DVDSP and reinstall. If so, how do I do that??

Final Cut Pro 7.0 nd Menu templates

Currently, I am looking to upgrade to FCP 7.0 via FC Studio Pro 3, and I am wondering about the menus templates/markers that are claimed to be available in FCP 7.0. Ultimately, I would be looking to try and generate a Blu-Ray disk by outputting in FCP. The web site has some info on the menu templates, however, is possible to have two separate menus one linking to the other? My DVD disks traditionally have two separate menus (one for each separate event) on the same Blu-ray disk. Currently, I can do this in DVD Studio Pro 3.0.,and have the ability to nest up to 99 separate menus/disk.
I am aware of the lack of support for Blu-ray disk authoring in in DVD Studio Pro 4.0 andI was wondering if the Blu-ray encoding and available menu templates in FCP 7.0 would allow me to do this.
Toast Titanium allows separate menus (one per each clip), however, they all have the same background and title as the first and there is no way of changing this.
Does anyone know or has already tried working with the FCP 7.0 and Blu-ray disk menus?

Did you convert the footage to ProRes?
You know, FCP 7 isn't supported on Yosemite. In fact, it wasn't supported on the previous OS either...Mavericks. And running old, end of line apps (discontinued 3.5 years ago) on unsupported OS versions means they won't be stable...because Apple not longer makes sure that FCP 7 will work...it's moved on to FCX.
And Apple is also moving away from Quicktime, and moving towards AV Foundation. The core of FCP 7 is Quicktime. Mavericks no longer runs Quicktime 7, and that was a fully featured app. Quicktime X is unfinished, and very stripped down. It cannot open all codecs of MOV files...it converts ones it doesn't recognize to H.264 or ProRes and then opens them. So one BIG issue is that the main core of FCP is missing, and what is there is a very stripped down, unfinished piece of software...that Apple is also phasing out.
My advice is if you want to continue using old software, you need to run it on the OS that supports it. THis is true of any software....be especially so if you are earning a living with it. If you can't do that, then looking to the future and looking at supported editing apps might be in order. If FCX isn't your thing, there's Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer...

How many templates does Encore DVD comes with?

Hi,
I downloaded the trail and there are very few basic templates that comes with it. I know you can create your own, but for the price I would think there should be more. Can someone just confirm that is the case when you buy the application

The full retail version has an enormous library included with it.
It includes menus, templates, background video files, all sorts of goodies.

Webcenter Portal large Site with Jar Files Deployment/Configuration

Hi,
I have a large WCS portal to deploy comprising of many "applications" from different groups.
Ideally we want to deploy it as a .ear file, containing menus, templates, preferences, and some other common structures.
We want to deliver each application as a .jar File. What is the best way to do it?
Can we build menus pointing to a Taskflow .jar files without incorporating the .jar in the application?

My ideia is to deploy the lib, but do not add it to the project, in order to allow decoupled development.

Unknown error 2130906112 while burning DVD in Premiere Elements

Hi am trying to burn a DVD using Premiere Elements 3.0. My computer will go through the lengthy process of attempting to burn the CD. At the very end, the drive pops the DVD out and I get a message that states: Unknown error 2130906112. I have burned successfully in the past, but am unable to now. I have tried to do this about 7 times with this specific project and have had no success. I have used two different types of DVD+R (Memorex and Verbatim). My project is approximately 56 minutes long. Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

I just can't see which is highlighted while doing so. I think it has to do with the template I chose in Premiere Elements while designing the movie.
The lack of the Sub-picture Highlights (the official name for the indicators of which Button one has navigated to), could be caused by several things:
1.) the inability of the PS3 to adequately display them. Like I said earlier, most people, that I know, use the PS3's for BD playing. The specs. are different for those, as opposed to the DVD-specs. I just do not know about the PS3.
2.) could be a problem with the Template. Which one did you choose? I'll be glad to check it out (if PrE4 has it) and report any issues that I find. Did you modify this Template, say in Photoshop/PSElements? Could be that one of those modifications turned ON all Sub-picture Highlights.
3.) could be a problem with the "authoring" phase of the Project. This is after the editing, and is where one assembles the Assets (Menus, etc.) and does the navigation. As PrE is semi-automatic, it does most of this for the user, with little intervention. Still, there could be ways to accidently mess something up here, though it's highly unlikely. Now, in my authoring program, all is done by hand, so I have hundreds of opportunities to make a mess of a Project - PrE shields the user from most of these.
Now, to your questions:
Can I use the Img software for all burning projects including CDs?
Yes. You can do most forms of burning, including CD's (Audio, Video or Data), so long as you have the right types of files.
What is the best way to organize and store my video files?
This is the $64,000 question. So much depends on what one has, how they are likely to need to access them and what equipment they either own, or wish to purchase. I'll give you my scheme, though it might be overkill for you. Still, you can get an idea and are free to adapt any part of it for your needs.
I work with several types of Assets: original (or stock) still images, Captured (stock, or client-supplied) motion, Audio (original, stock or extracted from the previously mentioned motion Assets, Menus (Templates and original creations), Titles (same) and then my Projects.
I keep the originals on both a NAS (Networked Attached Storage) drive that is networked to all of my computers, and also on external storage HDD's. I also back up to DVD-Data discs. For Captured, original Video, I also store all tapes and do NOT overwrite/reuse any. I only work with Copies of any of the Assets (the Captures are probably the exception, as I have the tapes, should I need to re-Capture).
I use several media browsers to organize my Assets. I then locate those necessary for a Project, and create a folder structure for that Project. Copies of the Assets are placed in that folder structure, beneath the Project name. Again - these are Copies, in case something happens.
Depending on what I need to do, the Scratch Disks (set with Edit>Preferences) are usually kept within the Project's folder structure too. Same for Exports. As I use a different program to author DVD's (Adobe Encore), I create my Encore Project within this structure too. The files that I Export from PrPro (my NLE of choice), are the ones that I then Import into Encore for authoring the Project.
When done, I Archive the editing Project and also the Encore Project, to another external drive. I will always make one additional copy of my output DVD as a backup, as I can use ImgBurn, or another utility, to Copy DVD.
After all of this, I can then safely Delete my entire Project folder from the system. Remember, it contains no origianl Assets (other than Captured materail), as I have everything on the NAS, plus an external, plus the backup DVD-Data disc. Right now, I have about 30 1 - 2TB external HDD's that I use. Some are for backup, and some are to allow me to move my Projects between my laptop or my workstation.
Hope that this helps. As I said, it's probably overkill, but much of the work that I do is for clients. If they come back with a change, or a problem, I want to be able to help them immediately.

Reduced set of content

Hi again, I am not going mad after all, I have been installing and loosing 'content' (menus, templates etc) ever since I installed PRE10 a couple of months ago and was interested in the comments of a fellow sufferer, I have Tune up Utilities and decided to turn off the registry optimiser as suggested but can only find "impactless" against PRE10 & contents, not even sure I am looking in the correct place, any advice would be grateful, best regards

Check out this LINK. It has a PrE 7 tab, and looks like there is functional content for PrE 7. Maybe Adobe has decided to put some PrE 7 material back up, or maybe it's not what it seemed to me. I did not download anything, so cannot vouch for the content. Also, as I do not have PrE 7, I doubt that it would install in my old PrE 4, so I could not tell what was in it.

Templates with motion menus flicker

I have Encore CS6. If I use any of the templates from the library there is a very noticeable around the text on the menu. It's irritating to the point that I cannot use motion menus at all.

Yes, the m2v motion background. This results in the menu being rendered and increases the chances for changes.
I just haven't seen this, and can't imagine what would cause this from an unchanged template.
Is it only the chapter menu? Or all menus?
As an experiment, I'd remove the motion background, or perhaps better, I'd create a new project, pull in one of the offending menus, no motion, add a single timeline, and see if the problem is there. Looking to narrow down the problem.

Templates + Pop Up Menus

I know, I know Murray, you said these don't work in the past,
however, I made a template with a pop up / drop down (however you
like to call it) menu and so far it seems to work just fine. Am I
delusional ? Headed for a huge fall later on when I discover X
dosn't work with this feature ? Or does it really work now ?
I do know that pop up menus don't work with library items
still but the templates seem to be ok. Any experience for this
anyone ?

Updating fireworks dropdowns menus in DW templates

hi again,
much like my last query really. i often use dreamweaver
templates with fireworks menus, i was wondering if there is a way
to update the menu in all of the docs based on the DW template by
just uploading the updated FW menu files? i.e. at the mo i have to
update the DW template with the new FW menu, then update all the
docs based on the template, then upload them all - mission!

Dropdown Menus in a Template

Hello,
Fireworks, Dreamweaver 2004 MX, OS X
I am having a problem with a dropdown menu, that is in a
template. The menu has to link to several directories:
admin (This is the root directory of the menu)
admin/home_page
admin/links/insert
admin/links/delete
etc.
I have built a menu in Fireworks, it works from the first
level of the directory but when in one of the higher directories,
for some reason, it seems to add directories in the URL that are
not there.
I am wondering if there is a problem in using the "edit in
Fireworks" button for a complex menus or if I have to detatch the
pages from a template and edit the links. (This would be
disappointing).

However, the links don't work on the vertical side menu. (I have only one link set up to date on the horizontal menu but it does work.) I assume that the only link that works is

When I put the vertical side menu in the template and made it an optional region, I did get a warning message stating it should be in a locked region, but I'm not sure if that would be the issue. I've checked the code and it seems like the editable head region and the JS at the bottom of the page are ok. Sorry, I do not use DW's template system and cannot help. Popup menus and templates

Having problems with my exported pop menus from FW and
including them in DW templates.
All my .dwt files are in a directory called /Templates
My pop up menu html and the associated .js file is located in
/Menu and the images are stored in /Menu/images
Originally my pop up menus were working only if all my HTML
template derived files were also located in the /Templates
directory. However I don't want that as I want to organize all my
HTML pages in subdirectories that are relevant/meaningful.
So doing some searching I followed this

I tried to make root relative paths in the templates but the
pop up menu doesn't show up properly when previewing. The Example X
links from that tutorial are not working so I cannot verify if what
I am doing is correct.

Menus when not using Premiere templates

I have used my own scene transitions not using a preset template. Now I want to make a Menu Select Scene (manually, I guess) but don't know how Can anyone help me, please?

Custom Menu Sets (note: PrE uses Menu Sets w/ a Main Menu and a Scene Selection Menu, and there are several necessary conventions, from file names to the layout, that MUST be followed, due to PrE doing much of the authoring semi-automatically), and it's almost always best to start with one of the included Menu Sets, and then adjust that in PS, or PSElements, following the exact conventions in the Template. Note: PSE cannot create Layer Sets, so you cannot create Buttons, but can do some Copy/Paste work. The full Photoshop has no such limitations.
Whenever I need to create PrE Menu Sets, I will either start with a Template, or will at least have one Open, to make sure that I do not forget any of the necessary conventions.
