MEP code (0 left)

Hi!
My request would be somewhat not ordinary, but I have nowhere else to turn, because I live in Russia ... :-(
Saw the phone BB Curve 8900 and fell in love. Ordered through e-bay. They sent, but only for T-mobil.
One "very intelligent" people advised to enter 10 times Network Mep code, which I did. :-(
How can I be? T-mobil we do not.
P.S. Sorry for my English.
{edited for privacy}
Roman.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If I understand you correctly, the "very intelligent" people you trusted gave you very bad information. After attempting (and failing) to enter the proper unlock code 10 times, the device is permanently locked to the original carrier, and cannot be unlocked. What you needed was the proper unlock code (which can be purchased) and to have entered that...doing so would have unlocked the BB from TMobile, allowing you to put a different carriers SIM into it and use it. Now you cannot do that. And there is no fix that I know of.
Sorry.

  • Unlock my blackberry Curve 8520: Enter service provider mep code (0) left

    Good afternoon,
A few days ago I bought a BB Curve 8520 from a friend but the phone says:
"enter service provider mep code (0) left"
Is it possible to fix this problem?
    Regards,
    Julian

Someone tried too many bad attempts to enter an unlock code in the device.
After the ten attempts have been used, you must get RIM to unlock the device.
There are two routes, and only two, to achieve this.
    * IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. I'll warn you that most carrier technical support people will first assume and think you are referring to a device security unlock, and you will need to convince them otherwise and explain clearly what you need. THEY will not be able to help you because the carriers themselves cannot unlock a device which has had the MEP code attempts depleted, and should (and you will need to ask) to have the case escalated to RIM level tech support.
    * If your device is out of warranty, contact RIM direct. See the Contact Us information from the website: http://ca.blackberry.com/contact/ The options you want to select to speak to BlackBerry Customer Care are 3 (for inquiries, orders, billing, e-RMA etc) then 5 (e-RMA and Out of Warranty).
    Make sense? Good luck.

  • Blackberry 9300 solution for mep code (0 left)

    Hi
Blackberry 9300 solution for mep code (0 left)
    Help me please
    Thanks...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
With zero tries left, there is only one official solution -- sending your BB to the RIM factory to have it totally reset. Your methods of requesting this service are the same as for all BB service...via your wireless service provider. If they refuse or if you have no warranty (due to a variety of reasons, this can be the case), then you must request this via paid incident support:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.jsp
Be advised that, while I have no personal experience with this, it is my opinion that the cost of having this done will exceed the cost of just buying a new BB.
    Good luck!

  • Fix for MEP code 0 left

Unfortunately, the "rom booter" did not work. I have downloaded the desktop manager software from Blackberry suppport and have run that program also. Still no solution to the problem. Any other ideas?

    Hello!
I've no idea what a "rom booter" is...maybe you are talking about something in a different thread. Nevertheless, there is NO LEGAL means for anyone but the RIM factory to recover your situation...
If you have used up all of your chances to enter the correct unlock code, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having RIM do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.jsp
Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...
If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.
If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from.
    Good luck!

  • Enter network MEP code (0 left)

I have PIN, IMEI, MEP & MEP2 codes but i can't unlock my blackberry 9300. What can I do now?

Why do you need to unlock, your service provider can help, they contact blackberry and get the code but you get charged £20/£30 for it. Take to a shop that do repairs, they can do it for aroun £10.

I tried to unlock my curve 3G with the mep code which was provided by my phone supllier, but there is now 0 try left for this mep code. I cannot change my sim card then... How should i do to unlock my phone? Many thanks

    Hello lantez
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums
You should not have entered 10 wrong mep code now it locked and you can contact your Carrier  and see if they can forward the case to RIM for you as now only RIM can reset the mep counter. Also look at this thread it might help MEP code (0 left) on Blackberry .

  • No MEP code in the escreen !!

    Hi,
My Q10 was hard reseted during a keyboard exchange by the constructor (under warranty) and no longer desimlocked. I obtained an official code and the network and sub-network are now unlocked as told in the security menu but I am reaquested for a MEP code and could not connect to the network.
I went into the 'escreen' and the "OS Engineering Screens" and "Device Info" menus but not MEP codes are listed !
    Can anybody help me ?
    Thanks in advance.

If your phone was working before the person did that hard reset I would go back to them first.
If that person can't help you, check with your carrier and see if they can escalate to BlackBerry if they (carrier) can't resolve it.

  • 0 left the mep code?

MY FATHER WAS GAVE ME THE BLACKBERRY AS A GIFT
HE TOLD ME THAT HE PURCHASE IT ON A ONLINE STORE
THEN THE PROBLEM IS ZERO LEFT MEPCODE?
    WHAT DO I DO?

    Hi there,
Unfortunately, if you are seeing that message, you will be unable to unlock your phone. Did you get the phone like that, or did you enter the incorrect MEP code yourself? If you got the phone like that, I would have your dad contact the seller and complaint. If it was bought from eBay, then you can file a complaint.
If you got to this message by entering the wrong MEP code yourself, then you will be out of luck and the phone will only work on the original carrier that the phone was locked to. You can try checking with a cellphone repair shop, but any "repairs" they take are at your own risk.

After the ten attempts have been used, you must get RIM to unlock the device.
There are three routes, and only three, to achieve this.
    * Purchase a MEP unlock code from a MEP unlocking vendor on the internet. Be wise and make sure you purchase from one with a good reputation and with good reviews and feedback.
    * IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. • Restart after MEP code entered

    Dear all,
    I have a blackberry curve 8520 and I am experiencing a problem.
My device is locked after I accidentally used a wrong SIM-card. Now the device is asking for a MEP code (10 tries left).
I legally obtained a correct MEP code. Unfortunately the blackberry restarts/crashes immediately after the MEP code is given (this happens with any code entered, correct or incorrect like '0000').
When rebooted, the device is still asking for a MEP code and still shows that there are 10 tries left (so obviously the code is not being processed).
This seems to be a common occurring problem with multiple blackberry devices. For example see:
    - http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f489/8520-restarts-after-i-put-mep-code-1298217/
    - http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f489/hang-restart-when-entering-mep-code-1328313/
Is this a hardware problem? How can this be fixed? Do I have to send my phone to RIM? (if so, where//how)

From what I understand that I have been told, after the 10 unlock attempts, RIM is the only one who can physically remove the carrier lock, and it must be done physically by them, with the device in their hand.
I would recommend that you contact your carrier and ask for RIM level tech support, and inquire there. The forums here won't get you that support.

  • Mep code O2 British carrieer

    Hi
I've bought on ebay a device bold 9900. I live in Italy, the device comes from UK. Every sim I insert it asks me about the MEP code. I have just 1 attempt, because I thought MEP was the PIn code of my sim card, so I tried many times to use it. The vendor send me a code, 1952, I tried also to use this, but it doesn't work. I think that original carrieer was O2. Someone can help me?
Maybe I cane use the 1952 code, but I have to put some zero before or after?
Excuse me for my imperfect english.
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    First, refer:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
Sadly, with only one try left, you run the risk of permanently locking your device to it's original carrier, so you must be very very careful now (and your idea is 100% wrong, btw).
    Good luck!

  • My Blackberry 9300 is asking for a MEP code

I know the MEP code is the code to unlock your phone, but Im not trying to unlock it. I ran out of battery I charged it full and when I turned it on now is was asking for that code. It is my providers SIM card and I already tried to do the battery pull and still the same, called my provider they just advised me to get a new SIM but that didnt work

    Very strange indeed...see this KB:
KB26790 BlackBerry smartphone prompts for an MEP code after switching SIM cards
While written for different model BBs, the results are the same as what you report. Unfortunately, the resolution is rather drastic as well. I also find this KB:
KB03889 Changing the service provider or network
All in all, what I recommend you to is continue to work with your Service Provider as all I can find indicates that they must be involved to help resolve this. Further, they can escalate your case into RIM for formal support if needed...formal RIM support is not available in this user-to-user forum.
    Good luck!
